1601  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I earn only from cryptocurrencies? on: April 13, 2023, 05:10:03 PM
I wonder, how many of you work in crypto full time, and how many use this as an additional source of income?
It is an additional source of income since this forum has such features going on. Otherwise it would just another asset class to buy on your own. Dont consider the forum signature campaigns as work, these are side hustles and they can support you but nobody know if by any reason this forum shuts down.

If you want to, you can share with us what you are doing in crypto. Is it trading, aidrops, writing articles, marketing, etc ?

Trading is a regular thing for most users here.
Airdrops = shit.
Writing Articles is for those who have the time and flair for writing such stuff, willing to do some in-depth research on topics before writing not just copy pasting.
Marketing is again a niche thing done by specific people for their own services.
1602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency. on: April 13, 2023, 05:06:19 PM
Besides BTC and ETH which should be your majority, you should go with the older and reputed altcoins before jumping into the newer ones, these include LTC and DOGE at first choice and then the rest. You can be assured that with these bought at low price, your chance of making it out with at least a break even capital is possible in the long run.

For the newly launched coins get at the low and get out quickly too, dont prolong your stay or you will get into a bad price position from where getting out is a difficult pill to pass and holding is painful.
1603  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is it necessary to mix Bitcoin that you bought from an exchange? on: April 13, 2023, 05:02:26 PM
I think its a personal choice. In some countries you might need to be more tactful when dealing with local laws and there keeping your privacy intact might need the help of a mixer and therefore you should use it. But I think the lack of trust and the pseudoanonymity of bitcoin has led to a sort of paranoia among the users of this asset and thus the influx of mixers and all, how far actually help you is doubtful since their logs do get leaked to authorities when they get hacked.

So necessity, I dont think so. But to calm that inner voice of getting in trouble because of using bitcoin, yes.
1604  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the support zone ? on: April 12, 2023, 04:50:59 PM
Actually I am very new on trading, And while browsing the forum, I saw that most of the time people are talking about the support zone, can someone please explain to me what the support zone is, I would be a little more happy if you explain it through a chart. how can I identify the support zone ?
The level where buying pressure is there and usually takes a huge volume of selling to break through, that ends up being a support level and these are usually the prices where investors have bought the coin previously. Historically there are many support levels which people have been placing buy orders at and keep them strong.

Think of it as a big bunch of buy orders to negate most of the sell orders such that the price does not drop below that. Opposite to this will be the resistance level which you can now make out on your own.

The use of these levels is to plan your buying point and whether you should play it safe and buy at even lower to maximize profits on the opposite side when you sell.
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does it take to become a Bitcoin investor on: April 12, 2023, 04:40:59 PM
I have a close friend who recently purchased 0.8 Bitcoins and when we met he was happy and was like " I am now a Bitcoin investor"
At that point I go this question in mind ;what does it really take to become a Bitcoin investor .does it mean that if you own a considerable amount of Bitcoin in your wallet you are now a Bitcoin investor or there is more to it aside having a basic knowledge of crypto currencies
Seems pretty basic to me, any amount of fiat used to buy bitcoin with a hope of appreciation of value over time is a bitcoin investment the amount should not matter to give apply the phrase. Now 0.8 BTC is a considerable amount for a first purchase in my local fiat so I hope the person bought at the low price and I hope they have a clear mindset about how to manage this asset in future in front of the changes in market.

Here again I am reminded of the common questions of "1BTC" - dont forget that fractional amounts of bitcoin bought is also bitcoin, we dont need whole number here. Whatever small your investment, it is the thought and the enthusiasm that counts not the number.
1606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects come out when bull market begin. on: April 12, 2023, 04:36:22 PM
the price of the token will also rise so it's a good way to promote the new project at the same time.
in a way though scam projects use the same technique to make the new project look good for the newbies to invest and then it turns scam after the bull run.

they are getting few this 2023 though. people in the forum are fed up with them since. this time i think they will just have to be on social media where they still can scam.
Scam projects use the hype in a bull market to promote their scams with people overlooking the common red flags because of the hype. Thing is that investing in the bull market is an overall loss, be it altcoin or bitcoin because the price will go down in the next step and then you will be in a bad situation - the bull market is rather the time to sell and profit and wait for the next bear run.

So going by that ideaology, we should not invest in new coins coming up during the bull market. But most newbies dont understand this and make the mistake of spending money on many such projects.
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in times of danger. on: April 11, 2023, 10:53:30 AM
OP will surely earn even more Bitcoin in the next few years to feel proud of their collection of Bitcoin. It feels good to see that they could use their bitcoin to come out of a bad situation instead of getting stuck in it.

Now the only thing to make sure of is that they continue to find methods to spend their coins easily into their local fiat currency without having to go through much KyC trouble. That way they will not face a desperate situation but use their saved bitcoin to help themselves.

Never feel disheartened about selling the coins. They are money after all, your family matters much more than some mere cash and investments can always wait.
1608  Economy / Reputation / Re: How secure are you when unknown user chats you up? on: April 11, 2023, 10:47:04 AM
On telegram you will see these profiles with female picture in the profile and usually not in another group with you - raises the question how they got your user ID to contact you. This is because of you are in a group, predatory people take the user IDs from there and spam every one of those with tempting messages from a different user id, so the other one remains in the group as an innocent bystander profile, pretty much a sockpuppet advantage that telegram gives them.

You can be assured that these are all scammers so block them on their first message and never reply back, it is a waste of time to do so.
1609  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how will it be? on: April 11, 2023, 10:40:03 AM
I am actually very weak in analysis so I would like to know from your personal analysis that Bitcoin can go below 20k again?
Of course it can but the real question is when not if. That none of us can predict and this we must have some fiat at hand ready to catch the falling coins when they start dropping. This along with selling at the high equals to a continuous cycling of money and hence we will be profitable in our approach.

You don't need to do much analysis for long term. You have to pick the correct price of low at the proper time and hold that for the correct time to sell it.
1610  Economy / Economics / Re: Quit borrowing on: April 10, 2023, 03:53:11 PM
You cant quit borrowing, otherwise how will the banks survive? Grin

Seriously though, we all need money in times of emergencies which is what borrowing should be kept limited to. No wonder the need for this has gone up and hence the influx of payday loan apps on app stores and its complications and consequences.

I think from a trading perspective, playing it safe with limited borrowing is a good habit. But for the real life spendings, we cannot completely be debt free.
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 10, 2023, 03:45:50 PM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.
EV Negative games obviously will be profitable for the casino owner in the long run. EV Positive games will be profitable to the player at times but not always. The gamblers often get swayed by that thought of getting rich such that the concept of logic goes out of their heads and they consider themselves to be at war with the casino and that perpetuates the house edge to catch up to them in an EV- game.

Most of the gamblers go in for the excitement that it provides but dont know when to stop and come back to the reality. It is addictive for someone who has a problem, but being able to quit is maximally going to profit them.

There is no strategy in an EV- game, it is all luck. For EV+ games, skills are involved.
1612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if they tried it on: April 10, 2023, 03:38:20 PM
I am always of the opinion that the government will never do something that causes massive uproar among the public because the governments also have to survive and getting mobbed at is not their first priority, rather being diplomatic is what they have always been.

However regulation comes to my mind here, because that is one method to track crypto transactions happening from a wallet or an IP address to geolocate someone if they wish to. Now I hope the governments do this only for tracking criminals who are rampant in this sector hiding in plain sight as common users.

This is difficult to manage and with KYC based exchanges this is tough indeed. But I am hopeful that such things will not happen.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public Perspective towards Bitcoin on: April 10, 2023, 03:33:22 PM
The only reason Bitcoin is valuable is because there's a demand for it. Prices increase with demand.

It is against the interests of a Bitcoin holder for the public perspective of crypto to be negative because that means less users, less demands, and a lower price.
A few negative users means discounted prices if they FUD the market, so that is good for us to accumulate, of course not sell - but then which one of us are selling away all their holdings right now? The ignorant people make the mistake of dragging the price down is when we can buy and then we will dump on them when they come in with new enthusiasm. This is what whales have been doing to profit.

Quote
And we can only hope the mainstream accepts Bitcoin sooner rather than later, because the attempts from government I've seen to regulate crypto have been concerning. Any passive observer would probably not be too receptive to such regulations, but they don't care enough because they aren't crypto users. These are the type of people we need on board if crypto has a chance against government derangement/ineptitude.
We do need more users to join this sphere but only those who understand how this market works and thus have a strong holding game. Not the short term sellers who only see crypto as a mode of quick money and complain about it not going up right after they buy.
1614  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the next altcoin season? on: April 09, 2023, 02:49:02 PM
I think the altcoins season has started now, since the beginning of 2023 the price of bitcoin has begun to stabilize increase, and altcoins prices have slowly followed this increase, indeed it has decreased several times, but if you look at the chart at the beginning of the year, altcoins are still increasing, so this is a good time to invest
The old seasons of rise will not come back but expecting a specific altcoin to rise with this is questionable. Since the majority of the altcoins are reeling under after the long crypto winter, it is difficult to predict when they are coming back in action. This goes out specifically for shitcoins and tokens which are often having a smaller userbase than the legacy altcoins like Doge, Litecoin, Ethereum.

Even then it is possible they will recover at the break even price, but tough to say and the holding period gets increasingly painful for the investor forcing them to just sell at the loss and move on.
1615  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Going to Bitcoin events on: April 09, 2023, 02:44:37 PM
As far as I know all projects have their own secrets.  How is it possible to assert so strongly that all the projects discussed will later become ill-known?
Thats what experience has taught me, the older users of this forum have all invested somewhere sometime in some altcoins and they have only lead to a deprecation of the asset in the long term instead of going up, unlike what an investor would expect. They did spend time to hold and be patient about it but the project either shut itself off or ghosted its investors. In any crypto related event you can find these altcoins showing off their new product and their token or coin, but be assured that it would never be the next bitcoin.

It's just an event and if you don't dare to go, it makes no sense to expect bitcoin to become ubiquitous and become a means of payment globally. Because then you will be using bitcoin all the time and everyone knows your identity. Privacy is lost as bitcoin becomes ubiquitous and is used every day.
An event does not change the public adoption, most people go there to have the free lunch or meet with some potential investors to get money. How you use bitcoin and protect your identity is your own choice and it can be done if you are clever enough.
1616  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as wealth. on: April 07, 2023, 09:45:07 AM
In cryptocurrency people can get maximum returns but for them it is crucial to understand each and everything about it. It does not mean that by just engaging you will get what you desires but the actual things which matters are the understanding.
They just need to understand how to keep money safe in the form of crypto and what measures to take in order to not accidentally getting scammed. After that just buy and sell high, how hard can that be? Actually it is tough that is why people lose more than they make in trading.

Quote
Trading of cryptocurrency is more acceptable than physical money because physical money is not as much higher as that money which is offered through cryptocurrency trading. Trading can be a source of wealth but it can also be a source of poverty because of losing money due to your mistakes in trading field.
Physical currency not being high is a temporary thing that can change, should not be the reason for crypto trading. Today USD is lower than bitcoin, but the average person gets paid in fiat not bitcoin - so for them 1BTC is a huge amount usually not affordable in a single salary payout.

Trading is not for everyone though, those who end up losing money even after playing it safe are doing something wrong and if they are unable to identify it they should move away from trading.
1617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Doge worth investing? on: April 07, 2023, 09:33:08 AM
Doge can become big in a long term outlook but there is no guarantee that it will be this big after so many years, so I cant suggest any amount or period to buy in. Another celeb might come in and make it rise like anything but the real long term value is still limited.

It has a brand name because of being a "bronze" to bitcoin with litecoin being the "silver" but today its use in commercial places is limited but has a good userbase to look for support in.

You should buy in if you are feeling lucky and have the patience to keep that money trashed away for years to come hoping for a 10x gain.
1618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I still believe I am on the right path on: April 07, 2023, 09:29:40 AM
They won't regret it because, as you said, no one could have predicted Bitcoin hitting $50k, and I bet not even Satoshi could have guessed it. So there is no regret, as long as they have made a profit from their bitcoin investment and are satisfied with their decision. I once sold bitcoin for 20k, and I made a huge profit, I don't regret it.
Predicting bitcoin to be 59k USD is one thing but holding on to that from a very low buying price, say three digit is another thing. Most people cant see it through unless they have the patience and a second source of income to keep all the bitcoin intact for years without selling a single satoshi.

Just keeping the cycle going on your portfolio is the real thing, with that you can forget about what is happening in the world and continue to increase the total amount of bitcoin in your hold.

Dont fall for the altcoins roaming around everywhere, they will only lead to small term gains and you will have to suffer the deeper losses when they drop.
1619  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: April 06, 2023, 04:54:04 PM
In life there are many peoples wants freedom and this is available in day training and not any restrictions that whenever and wherever you want to doing work
Day trading without a day job at hand is like running a motorcycle without having insurance. Your day job is your daily "stable" income, there can be no alternative to that. Day trading will never be a stable income but a up and down cycle, sometimes earning big amounts and sometimes incurring losses.

If you think what you said is correct, there would not be no work-frustrated person in the world and everyone would be trading and become rich.

Quote
If we thing about that are in enjoying with your family there you are also allow to work as well and also enjoy
Day trading draws a lot of your time and effort from you. You would be spending more time analyzing charts for daily trades than spending with your family. Not sure where you are getting the wrong idea.

Also freedom from your Boss.
You might hate your boss but trying being the boss for one day and you will realize how tough it is.
