Graviton waits 24 hours for owner's response. It is still possible that the reputable owner of dgex acc bought those nxt from the hacker
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: January 22, 2014, 01:10:51 PM
why would someone who has 27M NXT want to steal coins?
that's like being a rich banker and robbing an impoverished grandmother.
Can you suggest other explanation of someone using accounts with stolen NXT?

so did the stolen coins go directly to this 27M account? how much alltogether?
I guess the 27M account is one of the investors? so isn't he known anyway in some form?
what are you talking about??! What myth about someone with 27 mega are you spreading?

Was never posted anywhere, and the only place I saved it locally didn't have a few characters just to make sure I never accidentelly pasted it anywhere..

wth..

and yes I know it says up to 50 or 70 now with 4.8 install, but damn. this is crazy.   just a random password (different of course) with the same amount of characters would take..

which happened yesterday!

4)
So what happened here? I see my NXT have been stolen as well. I only downloaded the client from this thread. Is there any plans to revert the blockchain? Honestly if there is no plans to somehow correct this, I am giving up on this. This is very disappointing.
Account: 8439060069775407509

you can see 4 members of the forum.

With explorer you can see all money went to DGEX (or 100k to Bter):

We as a Nxt community are in a consensus to reveal the identity of the hacker:
Code:
*********** BEGIN GRAVITON COMMENTS**********************

"The BTC from the apparently stolen NXT were cashed out yesterday morning, so what I have left is some info if anything....

10715382765594435905 is not a DGEX account.

We had a moderately large deposit two days ago from 2647797480528736696, washing it quickly through instant withdrawals to BTC.

The owner of the account is a well known and reputable NXT community member."

*********** END GRAVITON COMMENTS**********************

I think that everyone should ask graviton for the nickname
+1

I would be interested in knowing as well obviously. Why hide this information from the public? This well known and reputable member should no longer be reputable. It only hurts NXT to keep it secret.

So true
Im a person interested in buying some NXT(i have none atm) but if theres people stealing this coin, worst a reputable member i get a little concerned if i should buy or not...

If he deleted his hacker posts, we can find them by googlecache, so it would really help us a lot, if you reveal a nickname/email/anything about the owner of account:

Thank you for your time, you are doing excellent job

1608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEX :: Nexus is an EXchange - Imagine Fairness! on: January 22, 2014, 01:44:34 AM
I wish to point out recent outside activity by the founder of NEX, FrictionlessCoin (FC).

FC accepted 122 Namecoin (NMC) to develop a lightweight Namecoin wallet based upon Multibit and has thus far produced nothing, and reports nothing.  I encourage you to read the whole thread, it really is quite humorous.

http://dot-bit.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1450

In summary: FC has an idea, wants donations, accepts donations, complains that donations aren't big enough, pisses off some major NMC developers, threatens to close source his work, then disappears without delivering.  And ALL of of it with the serious attitude problem that FC has shown here and across the BTT forums.

Is this really the person you want to trust with your NXT, and to lead a new cryptocurrency?

LOL...so it's not just us, FC's busy pissing off / ripping off everyone.

This needs to be re-posted lots......

Is 2nd post enough? Cheesy

Everyone with money. The original investors are behaving like a trust because the price is insane. The most of NXT coins were not sold to hold the price so high, typical trust.

I didn't know you were so instrumental in identifying EpicThomas. And so I didn't thank you, but I am doing it now. I really appreciate the way that you have contributed such a crucial piece to this investigation.

these people actually helped with investigation that lead to the identification:

Both bitcoin and nxt generate your address from a 256bit key. The only problem is that bitcoin generates your private key while nxt uses sha256(pass) to get your private key.

- Someone cracked SHA256 and Curve25519 (why then multi-million accounts not hacked?)
- Someone distributes modified NRS (someone should decompile PaulyC's software)
- Keylogger
- He used online node that records entered passphrases

Patel: 01-01-2014, 20:48:22

Another possibility is that the global mod that went rogue from the nxtforum, he could have changed the download link to a infected copy of NRS and people who used that link from the forum were using a compromised version

He should calculate the SHA256 Hash of the class files, no need to decompile.

Actually I am still not 100% sure how it happend. We came to the conclusion that it must be a Keylogger/trojan BUT then they would have had access to many online wallets and exchanges, and ONLY my NXT accounts were compromised. So overall strange, but it could have been avoided with using Linux or upping my Windows security.

You followed a link from this user, who deleted his posts:

I guess I am doing my own brand of advertising for NXT!  We all contribute what we can.
and still you haven't caught 1 thief or thief's Bitcointalk account or didn't find any new theft except of those who were found by others

All true.

Well, I do know that EpicThomas did indeed put out a poisoned client, and I do indeed know who he is in the real world...

Maybe we all had to just go away for a while to let the heist go to this next step...
But I told you about EpicThomas

there are many online manager games with their currency - credits, there are online trading card games - also with credits for buying cars, there are MMORPG games... travian.. so the future of Nxt could be very big if we could somehow buy credits to the World of Warcraft (etc) by Nxt and speculate with them

I am in talks with the administrators of the free internet chess server (FICS) about having 4 chess tournaments open to everyone with a first prize in NXT.
yes, your tournament is listed in gaming tournaments since the beginning of this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg4478626#msg4478626). I sent you PM yesterday, would you response?
