Whales in the ocean are having fun eating seals like you Wink

Indeed.

But they do it in real markets, with real money and real risk. (And they don't waste their time on attracting plankton with sea mammal screenshots Wink )

******* Amber alert ********

Stomach acid above.

How to protect yourself from pump group vermin:

 • if you value something, hang onto it regardless of the price during volatile trading
 • if you don't value it dump it
1603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: April 02, 2017, 03:27:38 AM
Now that I know a pump group is pumping Dash I'd be happy to see it go back and retest 0.025.

****** Amber Alert ******

Time to hang on to what you value. Here's how pump groups operate:

 • co-ordinated, centralised action
 • pump groups have large reserves on both sides of the trade

HOW TO PUMP AS A PUMP GROUP

 • pick the right fundamentals
 • amplify the market movements:
 • as shorters are running out of steam, go long (and tell every gain seeking newb to do so)
 • on a pump, allow a brief period of correction to save on reserves until enough shorters gain confidence, then liquidate them with a quick blast of buys to drive the market to the next target
 • monitor chart T/A RSI on the 12-hour until you get to 90 market saturation
 • instruct your pump group to start selling

FUNDAMENTAL RULE

 • never be transparent
 • always require PM's for instructions
 • never act in good faith

Pump groups = stomach acid. Can be useful, but you wouldn't want to be it Wink

We are a pump group

The crypto-market equivalent of admitting you're a paedo.

Scumbag heaven. Safety in numbers amongst other sheep with no clue of what they value or why.

Enjoy !  Cheesy

SELL ORDERS Total: 36866.26374065 DASH

4200 active masternodes and only 36 for sale ?

Doesn't look like a "sinking ship" to me.

BTC developers and hard core "believers" do not believe in currency competition.  This should be a huge red flag for anyone who is hoping for better money for the people.

Hey, that's a very interesting document Tante. Never seen it.

Do you have a TL;DR version of his conclusions ? Is he discussing pegged currencies ?

Challenge to sceptics that have added so much to this experience who think they understand monetary economics.

Test your theory out  Grin

Create yourself an:

 • 'instamined'
 • 'controlled by the few'
 • 'liquidity constrained'
 • 'prisoner's dilema'
 • 'transparent blockchain'

coin.

Don't add any:

 • hard work
 • structured design priorities
 • personal stress
 • monetary sensitivity
 • inclusion of forgotten stakeholders
 • respect for monetary history
 • understanding of markets
 • self sustaining budgets
 • sense of adventure
 • respect for trolls

...and see how far you get Wink

Thanks !

Good luck to this coin. It's great to see that stuff that had so much promise for its original idea has not been forgotten. Props to this community for keeping it going. I never realised it was still alive.

Age is a huge deal for crypto IMO. And especially for one that originally based its whole premise on rarity. (Because the older it gets, the less reproducible it gets).

A genuine monetary property ! Time doesn't go backwards Wink

Flashback to June 2015:

P.S. Greg Maxwell had the benefit of hindsight at the time. It was called the Bretton Woods system.

I just bought this cos I remember it from the old days and it was indeed - unobtainable.

I never had enough money to buy 1 coin, only a part.

Seeing that it had survived means that it now only has upside.
1614  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 26, 2017, 12:38:22 AM

The retrace up the way is happening because the it's becoming apparent that BU had about a snowballs hope in hell of making any significant dent in hashpower, who's migratory trends have now reversed.

They couldn't event dent the signalling to within a remote hope and that's almost cost-free.
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: March 25, 2017, 08:04:38 PM

 • An obsessive programmer finds consensus in conformity.

 • A free market finds consensus in diversity.

It's therefore no accident that Bitcoin core personnel would make the massive mistake of dismissing the role of altcoins in the growth of this new asset class. Unfortunately for them, that's where the real resolution to this debate lies. There is no technical solution that can protect anyone from genuine diversification.
1616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH has less than 10 transactions per minute and is worth over $700,000,000 atm on: March 25, 2017, 03:31:46 PM

My personal opinion is that they keep the price high by developing the coin

You don't say.
1617  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 25, 2017, 12:46:02 AM

I bought Dash 3 years ago because I liked its monetary model.

On chain scaling roadmapped. Transparent blockchain like bitcoin. 2-tier protocol which makes possible all the stuff that BCC is having to do off chain.

Critiscisms like 'bank of Duffield' now look a bit silly against the current backdrop of events. You could hardly have a greater contrast (or in financial terms 'hedge') with what's happening in Bitcoin.
1618  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 25, 2017, 12:20:34 AM

No one can seriously be enjoying this

I'm enjoying it.

I always thought Bitcoin would become more valuable the more times it pushed the envelope and scotched taboos.

On taboo is a contentious hardfork - or at least the serious prospect of one and how it gets resolved. It's just something that has to be explored before the blockchain is allowed to carry a value of £100,000 per coin.

Rights of passage phase. There's been plenty of them and they all seemed apocalyptic at the time.

The BU drama is a hoax - fuelled by the low cost of signalling. Nevertheless, it's had the effect of freaking a few people out. So I'd say it's more of a sociological phenomenon than a technological one.

Just another day at the office.

1620  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 24, 2017, 06:05:27 PM

I don't understand.

How come the signalling is going BCU's way and the hashrate is going BCC's way now ?
