So gear is now one date past shipping date.

So 50 x 0.00002300 = 0.00115 btc lost due to 1 day shipping delay.

It has not shipped today  the second of sept  making loss  0.00230 btc maybe a little less say 0.00002272 x 100 = 0.002272

Sept 1  50   x 0.00002272 =  0.001136
Sept 2  100 x 0.00002272 =  0.002272          place your bets on how bad it gets. Grin
16064  Other / Meta / Re: theymos suggestion for permaban on: September 01, 2019, 04:42:27 PM
It is not all black&white...

Moderators sholud examine each case and compare good things that member contributed in this forum, against breaking some forum rules.
I don't think there is a single person here who never broke even a single rule, including theymos or satoshi.

We have people who scam others or post malicious links.
We also recently had one example lunatic humanrightfoundation with his death threats.

Scammers and people like humanrightfoundation should receive permaban,
but breaking rules should be with temp-ban, signature-ban or warning before permanban.

I know there will be bunch of higher ranked members who will disagree with me,
but this is my humble opinion as an active member of Bitcontalk forum.

I don’t believe in a permaban for first time you are caught.

I prefer. A 30 day ban. And for example if caught on Oct 1 2019 and banned til oct 31 2019 .  Then all old posts found before oct 1 2019 add 30 more days.

I e. Person is caught and banned on oct 1 2019.  So people go over all post prior to ban and find 11 more.

Ban goes to 360 days.

Permaban is overkill for many people banned.
As I have watched and read people being banned for three or four year old posts. And I am pretty sure that permaban was not discussed four years ago for plagiarizing .

Also I have seen six words in a row in a three hundred word post be called plagiarism.

A far cry from copying three words exactly.

I really would prefer 30 day ban for first offense.

Or 60 day ban for first offense.  Not a permaban.

But I realize many many many people do not quote and copy just to make some coin for a signature campaign .

I would also like to see us end all signatures for a month just to get some data to see how it affects spam.

They break a lot not well thought of.   And support is poor.

Also they want 539 for a 16 th unit. That is costly.

Compared to the s9k I listed.  you may as well buy it.(s9k)

If you are a miner with cheap power never never never never buy a coin out right.

I can buy s9s at 300 and with my power deal it is far better then buying a coin for 9500.

I ordered some s9s they will do fine as for companies like Inno that is now a day late for my t3 t50.

They robbed about 12 dollars for that one day late.
Considering they did ship to others but not to me I will keep a running total public for all to see.

What are some high efficiency settings for the s9 people are using? Hearing of 10th about 600W is possible.

I did 10025gh and 815 - 825 watts

Not sure anyone can do 600 watts.

mining died for now.... but if price goes up then it will be worth again ... maybe it only need new stuff to mine it.?

I want to be back in 2015 when i used 3 mhs miner and did many ltc with so less hashrate and litecoin was worth 3$

what the future reserve for us?

I know the correct answer to that questions.  Nobody really knows the future. It is just the way it is.
16071  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: August 31, 2019, 11:43:37 AM
For those who have tested this miner, can you please tell me at what frequency does it get over-clocked at and how much speed exactly does it provide maximum?

Which mining software (miner basically) works out the best with this one? Which operating system in my PC would fetch the highest speed with least work required? And what is the cost-to-benefit ratio here? I mean when will I break even? Or is it just for the hobbyists? Actually, I wish to start back mining with some old ways and see if it would make me something or cost me more? FYI, electricity here costs me between 10 to 20 cents per kWh and I believe it is somewhat expensive, but I know of a place where I'll need to pay just 1/10th of the actual normal prices.

at 2 cents a kwatt  it will cost you 5 cents a day. it will earn about 24 cents a day doing about 1th.  so it will earn 19 cents profit.  if you pay 300.00 usd  in 1600 days  you could break even.
16072  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: August 30, 2019, 02:24:46 AM
Hello, currently I have 600 TH / s in the mining pool. Does it make sense for solo mining? How long should it take to hit a block?
Avarage Time to find block
1 Years, 5 Month, 13 Days, 12 Hours, 36 Mins,

http://hut.keinbrot.com/bitcoin/solocalc/

@Bitcoin Difficulty:   6,379,265,451,411

Current difficulty is "Diff:10.2T"
That said, seems that every time a miner of that size drops in to join folks in the pool on Kano.is if they stick around for more than a few weeks or months or so - they seem to hit a block for us. Only restriction for Kano's pool is no rentals.

Just sayin' there is a lot to be said for a miner of that size being in a pool vs solo...

realistically  if you do not have 5ph  don't solo.

or if you have under 1th  like the r606 solo is fine.

My and my partners have 900th we do not do solo.  As power bill is in the 2500-3000 range monthly..  And we would  more then 17 months to hit a block.  with standard luck.  so 3000 x 17 = 51000 out of pocket with zero coins  then hit a block  worth 125000

and that is not true after ½ ing .
16073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 5 Reasons to NOT Buy or Mine Litecoin LTC in 2019/2020 | Profitability 2019 on: August 30, 2019, 12:21:23 AM
Here is the deal LTC developers did some shady shit the first year it was built. I believe the builder could use Gpus to mine for many months while others could only mine with CPU’s.

Kano has gone into detail on this and I did some research it does appear that LTC developers did that years ago.

It was more than that, too many shady things happened, I know most of them, reason I never invested in ltc, ltc has always been a way to scam for bitcoin. That is why it was created, ltc's creator, charlie lee, won't say that but its the truth.

I wasn't around during the LTC main-net launch so this is news to me... never knew that LTC developers did this.

This actually reminds me of a similiar situation with Darkcoin (now called Dash coin) basically people analyzed the blockchain after the launch and they also did some analysis and found out that it was instamined in some way. I don't remember the details but X11 I think for a while might of been CPU only and later on it was GPU mineable. And lots of coins were pretty much premined in the early days and people have been complaining for years about the coin being shady.

Would have to find the post in the Dash thread to find out for sure though. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Every coin has some type of premine, unfair launch, dev tax, or something to make the person that created the coin rich.  Not many people are going to do something out of the goodness of their heart, they do it for hte money.
Do you think that makes it okay?

No it was wrong, but most of us are not insiders on any coin so we react and chase coins to make profit.

I did a few lookups and many many btc are sitting as pre mined by the creator of btc.

None of us know if they will be cashed in so does that mean btc is like ltc?

Three reasons to mine ltc this winter

1) l3+ is quiet when under clocked so it is a great space heater.
2) l3+ is cheap if you need a space heater.
3) Apollo is quieter then a l3+ Makes for a nice conversational piece in an office.
4) ltc is the second most mined asic based algorithm so it does not face a bust out of great new miners.

If your able to,weigh Voss against me you can see he is right on many points.

And that my reasons are less but still good.

Don’t go buying 100 pieces of l3+ cause most likely that will lose.

I agree with Voss that large scale mining of l3+ is bad.

keep up the good work and progress Phil!

We now have both verizon and optimum

4x 48 port switches

1 on optimum  3 on verizon

and tons of spare power as we waiting for a gear deal  worth while.
16075  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Gear Pricing just becomes more irrational then ever on: August 29, 2019, 03:58:24 PM
Well the prices are nuts.

Bitmain  had s17 pros as low as 1750  with under a 1 month wait.
pangolin had m20s as low as 2050 with a 60 day wait.

Everything over that is excess profit taking  on the part of bitmain or  microbt.

Yeah coins  were 4600 when the gear sold at those prices.
Coins are now 9500.

But the diff in april 2019 was  7
the diff is now 10.2

forget trump tax which has simply killed us off in the USA.

take canada 5%  import.      the  s17 pro is now 3950 I saw a listing for it yesterday.

so  9500/4600 x 7/10.2 = 1.417  x 1750 = 2480  asking 3900   that is a flat out gouging of 1420  it is not justified based on coin prices and diff prices.

102 new Antminer S17 for sale in Canada. In Stock. Ready to Ship.

76 are Pro version / 24 are non-Pro version

Price: $3900 USD each

MOQ: 25 unit minimum order quantity...

now the reseller has a tiny broker fee (maybe 100 a unit)  so I don't blame him.

"all prices are out of line. at current coin price and sched diff."

avalon 1066 is fairly decent but s17 and m20s  are jacked way higher then they should be.

Frankly I simply need say this is bad for business.

if you use the 1.41 factor the s17 should be only 2480
the m20s should be only  2850

with  a quick ship in effect.

I am hoping buysolar  gets us a few 1066's

I am hoping my inno t3 50 ships by august 31st.

Any guesses on that shipping on time?  I think not but maybe they surprise me.

So will you use an escrow?
16077  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer m21s arrives this sat the 27th of July on: August 28, 2019, 07:31:48 PM
It is why i hesitated to buy these in bulk. I had a chance to get more of these and of the s17 pro.

But I had not tested any. So I did not order a lot of them. If I had  know they run well as they do I would have grabbed 10 and had one sub panel with 20 amp breakers and an isolation transformer.

We are going to add a transformer and do 200-250 more kwatts.
So doing sub panels with 20 Amp circuits are not a biggie.

The transformer would be in the warehouse.  We have two big ones in the building already.

You trolls could always ask for sapphire, gigabyte or asus their rma stats of 2018 then you will get your answer.

Mostly morons running at 100% fans and high power.

I have run hundreds of  gpus my failure rate is under 2%.

As I run them at

70% fans
70% power
70c temps

So what's wrong with going for the A1041's from Blokforge? Ja not as efficient but -- faster delivery and reasonable pricing per TH. Then there is the side benefit of the individual PSU's not being so damn hungry/fire hazards...

buysolar has been talking with steve from canaan to get 2 or more 1066 or 1067
