Of course you need to use their own wallet. An ICO's coin has it's own wallet just as bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, and other cryptocurrencies has their own separate wallets; unless you're using wallets like Exodus and Coinomi. Wallets like Exodus and Coinomi only supports coins that are somewhat at least in the top 30 cryptocurrencies. ICOs are coin offerings on NEW cryptocurrencies, so you definitely don't expect them to be supported by multi-coin wallets.

Bitcointalk is a community forum whereas you can discuss and ask questions that are related to bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general.
And no, you don't need to pay BTC here to be able to participate.

If you're too lazy to do your own research and instead ask other people what to do with your money, then investing is not for you.

You cant automatically convert your AUD to BTC by simply sending fiat money it to a bitcoin wallet. A bitcoin wallet good for storing bitcoin only holds your cryptocurrencies, nothing else. You actually have to buy the bitcoins first, just like with other stocks and or assets. That's why we have services like coinbase, kraken, localbitcoins, etc, to make buying easier. I'm not sure if I would call blockchain.info's wallet "decentralized" though, I honestly wouldn't keep huge numbers of bitcoin there. I'd prefer Electrum. I suggest reading this: [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?Best of luck.

Meh. The effect on the price will be minimal; probably because of the newbie bitcoin holders that somewhat read the news and went full panic mode. I wouldn't be bothered though as the typical FOMO investors that doesn't know a single thing about bitcoin and are just investing because of bitcoin's skyrocket in price most probably don't even know who satoshi is. Bubble! It'd be the biggest dump.
Sure, a huge dump can be caused by a bubble, but the situation OP described definitely isn't an example of a bubble.

if you have locked your account. nobody will be able to unlock it, you may send email to theymos but it will be difficult for him to recover your account because they are rarely do that. it will be better if you create new account and keep it secure, dont let anybody know your password also. dont use the same password in another site.
So theymos will not help me to regain my account? I do not even know how my account was hacked, I did not click on fake links nor reset my password using fake emails and I dunno how this happened. The admins will help you recover your account if you give ample proof that the account is indeed yours, and a bit of time. Just to add to what @ikilledcobain linked, here's a guide on how to sign a message using the electrum wallet: https://www.cryptocompare.com/wallets/guides/how-to-sign-a-message-with-electrum/Feel free to ask questions. Good luck. I had another account before and I reset it wrongly with the security questions which made it locked forever and it's been a year contacting theymos about it and i fellow all of the steps mentioned in this tut with no help and i lost it forever. Are you talking about a different account? not the Amon Raa one? If so, kindly send the profile link. Also, did you actually follow the guide and signed a message using your hacked profile's wallet? If so, kindly post it here so I know if I should continue trying to help you.

If you're talking about gambling casinos, sure, you can definitely earn a significant amount. But at the same time, you could also lose a significant amount. It only takes luck. Is it a good way of earning bitcoin or money in general? Definitely not, in my opinion. Only play casinos for fun, and only risk amounts you're willing to lose.

The high transaction fees are definitely affecting small investors; not to mention the additional fees and markups exchange sites like Coinbase put up. Unfortunately there's pretty much nothing we can do right now but to wait for the devs to finish up lightning network. The highest fee I would be willing to pay would be around $5, so I personally wouldn't cash in less than $50.

Most likely deleted; simply because we, the members of this forum basically have nothing to gain or learn on the topic poll you made.
If you really want the specific reason on why it has been deleted though, maybe try messaging some MODs. I doubt they would reply though.

Personally, simply because I actually really like the concept of having a decentralized and pseudo-anonymous currency. Sure, bitcoin has been gaining so much gains since years ago, but the main reason I'm actually investing my time and resources in bitcoin is because of bitcoin's objective and goals. Why chose bitcoin? Why not invest in shares/ stocks? Other investments?
Because Bitcoin could appreciate times more than any stocks, it can get you x10 if the market is right. Sure it can. But take note that it can also get you x10 losses

You pretty much got your criteria spot on.
Just to add, on your "team" criteria, also take into consideration if the team members are actually real people or just random names and random faces added on to the coin's website.
Also: - How active the devs are: Check their GitHub repository and take a look at the "commits". It's probably been months since they updated the code. - Percentage of coins the devs hold: On some coins, the devs actually hold a huge percentage of the overall coins(sometimes even more than 70% of the total supply. yep). I'm looking at you, Gnosis

What sort of bitcoin "advice" do you need?
The only "investing" you should be doing is either holding, trading, and initial coin offerings. Stay away from those investment sites and cloud mining crap.
Found out about bitcoin more a few years ago, because I wanted to sell my RuneScape gold but I didn't have a PayPal account and or a bank account, so I was searching the web for solutions then I stumbled upon bitcoin. Unfortunately I didn't dig much in to it because I found it very complicated (there weren't much easy-to-use bitcoin wallets). Then another few years after I got curious on what happened to this magic internet money, then here I am. Still as interested as the day I went back.

True. The bitcoins will basically be frozen forever unless someone lands on the exact wallet recovery seed that holds those bitcoins(very very VERY unlikely to happen tho, but theoretically prossible). So I'm pretty sure even though the bitcoin hardcap is at around 21million BTC, taking all those lost bitcoin in to equation, the total bitcoin will probably be far less than 21 million. Maybe even 20million; but there's really no way to find out if a certain wallet's bitcoin is lost or if the owner is really just isn't moving them.

Lets say you have 1BTC = $17000
But the fees get so high that to send 1BTC it cost 2BTC. That means you would only be able to send .33BTC after fees. If fees keep growing this will cut directly into profits.
it will never be that high because you are forgetting about the "willingness" of people who are paying these fees. people are not going to pay $12 to make a bitcoin transaction, how are you expecting them to pay $34,000 to do it at some point, it will be high for most people who will stop paying it. they will either pay a lower fee and wait or stop sending bitcoin all at once. this will lead to fees coming down or at least stay at some level. True. But don't forget about the "special" category of bitcoin users: the people that are also unwilling to pay high fees, but pay the high fees anyway as they are unaware about the blockchain being currently congested (Coinbase users, usually). They send bitcoin to a non-coinbase wallet then they get shocked why they only received far less bitcoin than the amount they sent. We see them usually complaining about it here and on Reddit.

What do you mean by "they confuse my transactions"? Are they doing something wrong? Tell us first what country you're in and what payment method you're planning on using. It will be far easier for us to make suggestions if we know the answer to those questions. Anyway, a common suggestion of mine would be https://localbitcoins.com

Am I disappointed? Very. I probably sound like a broken record already, but bitcoin is really just crippled right now. Pretty much the only thing that bitcoin is alive right now is just because it's the #1 cryptocurrency and it's the cryptocurrency that gets all the media attention. If bitcoin was a top >10 coin I think bitcoin would be dead already. Sure, lightning network is coming. This will be a huge step especially for merchants to accept BTC, but I don't think this will be enough. Only time will tell, and I'm still definitely hoping for the best.

People are buying it. That's what's happening. It's not a Korean pump either, as most volume are coming from GDAX and Bitfinex; while Korea's Bithumb only comes 3rd. People are probably buying it to move their funds easily, as most of us know that bitcoin's blockchain is currently super congested.
