i do pbmining investment that is easy just invest your online btc earning in miming work and earn for 5 years
I hate to give you the news, but thats money down the hole. You should have been more diligent while investing.

It is tough to find out which cloud mining schemes are legitimate and which ones are just ponzi schemes.

Easy, any cloud mining company promising ROI in 2-3 months is a ponzi. These tend to stay around for long so you can still profit.

Came across this after I made the post above. Was a real eye opener.

I don't think its bad. Bitcoin is hardly known here and any news, even negative ones, puts in into public consciousness. Besides, a negative news would make them wary and that is how it should be. Bitcoin is extremely volatile so anybody investing should do with utmost caution.

Yup, that is true.
There is no such thing as bad publicity.  Smiley

I'll mail those today. With a link to this thread.

Did you get a reply from them, by any chance?

Is this an India-specific faucet?
I see that this is your only post...

They seem to have run a high paying signature campaign just before going bust.
I wonder if we should keep this in mind as a leading indicator.  Grin
1626  Local / India / Re: How to handle those media that portray bitcoin as bad. on: December 16, 2014, 12:24:08 AM
I think the biggest drawback of the publicity and new article is when they mention the volatility and the risk of bitcoins falling to half the price.
That is one reason, I know a lot of people, don't want to try it.

don't forget about sr, mate.  Cheesy

I don't think Silk Road is the cause for people perceiving Bitcoin negatively in India. Did SR vendors do international deliveries?

Old thread, but looks like media coverage of bitcoin has not changed in the last 6 months. Smiley
I wonder for how long bitcoin will be compared to a ponzi scheme?

Microsoft now lets US shoppers pay with bitcoin

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/tech/tech-news/Microsoft-now-lets-US-shoppers-pay-with-bitcoin/articleshow/45490977.cms

Microsoft began Thursday letting US shoppers at its online Windows Store pay with digital currency bitcoin.

Bitcoin, traded in at market value through a partnership with payment processor BitPay, could be used to add money to Microsoft accounts that provide funds for buying games, music, video or applications for Xbox consoles or computers powered by the US technology titan's Windows operating systems.

And one more thing, if you do pull up someones record, the pan card holder gets an email(assuming they left it while registration) saying that XYZ company pulled your pan card details on XYZ date. So, I dont think it can abused so much.

Whoa.... I didn't know that.
That is a very good trigger.
We can be relieved that identity theft is a little more difficult.

Hindu , rejected my comment as well on the Bit coin article by Bavesh Sharma .

Really sad, but he did keep all the good comments up. We should flag this with them somewhere.

The Hindu has a dedicated email id for dealing with comments on the website.
Maybe we all should mail them about the rejection of comments.

Trestor to bring Bitcoin-like digital currency in India

http://indianexpress.com/article/technology/social/trestor-to-bring-bitcoin-like-digital-currency-in-india/

Unlike Bitcoin:

T-Net transactions are fully confirmed in seconds (Bitcoin takes ~ 10 mins)

T-Net allows usernames for accounts (Bitcoin has long 26-35 digit alphanumeric addresses, these are impossible to memorize)

T-Net solves the double spending problem with consensus instead of proof-of-work (which is used by Bitcoin)

When Bitcoin has already reached India, why should Trestor bring a Bitcoin-like currency?  Grin

   Other Prizes
   First Month 0% Trading Fee

A suggestion - the other prize can be made First Month 0% trading fee or First 10 transactions 0% Trading fee.
From what I have seen in other exchanges, the liquidity prevalent in exchanges currently is low (and consequently spread is high). So people may be interested in postponing transactions, even if they can take advantage of 0% trading fee.

Good news!!

Just start and anonymous poll; it might be a good indicator.

Not at all. Not many frequent this forum, and a lot less come in this section. Take a look around, you will find quite a few posters are Indians but you won't see them here.

Yup I agree this wouldn't work.
There is no easy way to get an estimate for the number.

True. At best, it could be a guesstimate problem for an interview Tongue

It would be tough for the interviewer to evaluate an answer as well. Smiley
