1621  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 23, 2024, 04:49:49 PM
From my little activeness over here in the forum and my involvement in gambling I have been seeing some changes in me and it's gradually beginning not to please me anymore I don't know If I will say I am becoming too emotional with my funds but sometimes it's very painful to place a bet for about 2 to 5 consecutive times no winning and this is what is beginning to me make feels sad. I know is a game of luck but sometimes whatever we do and not feels happy we should try to quit it.

I just have to bring this to know the category of people who belong to this sets that always feels bad or are emotionally touched due to their games has been constantly bursting without winning. I don't know how to channel it but at least gambler should be happy most times i will noticed that only 1 games do take me away from winning and most times there will be option to cash out I will have the full confident that all will be successfully played without knowing games change even at dying minutes.
There is no way you will be wasting money on any activity and you will be happy about it, that's human for you and a need for you to think twice about it. At least, that will help you to be more managerial and accountable about it, and even if you can't make the money you will at least limit the level at which you can lose your money to it. Gambling is such an activity that is so risky, and like you said, it is also a game of luck even though I do not 100% agree with people about that. It depends on how good you are with what you are gambling and the aspect of gambling we are talking about, so it is all relative to something. I like people to also have a neutral mind when they are gambling, the excitement or the hurt feelings will not solve anything, and they can even aggravate the issue if care is not taken. Gamblers should always zero their minds, they should focus on what they have to do and I am sure that this will limit the level of emotion in them so that they will not do what they do not like or plan for.

And about what you wrote above, it's a normal thing, gamblers could win or lose, and this could be in a high number of times consistently (win or lose), but at times too, they can hit the Jackpot that will erase all the losses they had and still give them profits in addition. This is why we should not always be discouraged or be too excited about gambling. If not, we may be discouraged and not play again when our winning time is the next, and we may be so excited to be playing more when the losing time is near. But when we are neutral and rather get set for whatever outcome of it, we will be better gamblers. I do not have so many feelings about gambling, that's the way I trained myself, and the moment you start having the mindset of money-making in gambling, you are getting closer to losing and have bad experiences with it.
1622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 23, 2024, 04:31:52 PM
Constantly gambling leads to addiction for addicted gamblers videos will not affect them. They will not believe that they are going to lose they will only be addicted to winning. He should have been warned in advance that he would feel pain when he saw the end. For those gamblers who are not addicted the video is good physically and mentally they will be prepared and alert to control themselves before becoming addicted will enjoy everything very easily.
This is why more awareness of gambling is important but the governments and NGOs are doing little or nothing about it. Private people can't always have the needed resources to go around to tell and help people regarding gambling, especially the cons attached to it, which will be a warning before they start gambling at all. This is not about dissuading people from gambling altogether but letting them know the dangers of gambling if certain measures are not taken into consideration. You can imagine the person who knew the good and bad sides of gambling before he started and cautiously engaged in it with the full knowledge that this activity is dangerous if he is careless about it. Such will always be one step ahead of gambling in terms of being careful, unlike those who are just gambling without prior knowledge of it.

Such never knew the danger in it but always wanted to get that money from it. Even those who want fun from gambling should also be careful so that what they believe is their hobby will not be a trap for them where addiction through it will make their lives miserable. We should try to moderate things, and those who started gambling with prior learning and warnings could be better planners, budgeters/managers, and strategists since they know what they are in for is more dangerous than many think.
1623  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 23, 2024, 04:11:58 PM
Luck is not something that comes all the time and that's what makes it special when it comes to you while you are gambling, some people cheat when they gamble and they said is luck which are all lies but inside them they already know that it want luck but cheating.
However I was lucky to win a bet with my last stake some days ago and I am happy for that, that's why I have to bring it here let's discuss about it, whether you have also win some amount of money with your last stake. I went to a betting shop around my locality then I bet with $10 and lose all of them so I was holding  up to $1 separately for transporting my self back to my residence, but funny how I staked with my transport money and won.
Although, I had more money on  my account that I can use for transporting my self back to my house if incase I lost the physical cash, that was why I wasn't afraid to stake with it.
Is it still possible that people cheat the house these days? I am still wondering though unless maybe they are using several accounts to do that. But for a single account to be able to achieve such, I am in serious doubt. Not to talk of you gambling at a physical casino, there is little you can do to cheat with such. Gambling has advanced in recent days and we should know that. Also, I congratulate you on winning and I must say that you are indeed lucky. It is not so many people that would use their last card to gamble and win. But this is bad because for you to have used your transport fair to gamble means that you are desperate and you are not just yourself at the same time.

I advise you to stop a thing like that before it grows more in you and becomes an addiction. Gamblers should be disciplined in it and be thorough with their gambling plans and budgets and nothing should make them change their mind about it. Not to talk of using the money as important as your transport fair. Will you walk home if the country is such that you can't make a transfer or you do not have your ATM with you. We need to train our minds in this regard as gambling is never a must. We can leave it till another day to continue. If you had planned it well as well, you could have divided that money into parts instead of losing $10 at once. You could have bet 3-10 times, and you will have more fun and more chances as well.

As for me, I've never used my last card to bet but I did something similar to that many years ago. I bet with almost my last card and lost the bet. Ever since then, I've not made that mistake.
1624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: February 23, 2024, 03:51:25 PM
Every day, thousands of dollars enter or leave the treasury of casinos, and we always hear about a gambler who wins or loses a large sum of money.

The thing that caught my attention is that the casino never loses. The money that you win is not the property of the casino, but of another player. The casino is in the process of recycling the money that the players have invested. There is always a winner and a loser, and when you bet with an amount of money, you bet against the money of all the other players. If you win, they will pay you from their money, and if someone else wins, they will pay himBTCBTC from your money.

So the casino remains the biggest beneficiary, right?
the reason why casino gambling still exist year after year is basically because they are still making profit out of the business and profit only suggest that you're on the winning side. What Makes it look as though thier win is unsustancial is basically because  some gamblers are winning while others might b loosing but at the end of the day the casino owners are always on the winning side.
There is this saying in gambling that "You can't win the house." This is not a lie because you can't expect someone or a group of people to establish their gambling business and expect them to lose. If they lose, it can only mean that they will pack off the business and bury their heads in shame. What do you think they will answer people if they ask them why they failed in gambling if it's about the winning of their customers that sends them out of the business? Well, those who are entering the gambling business are not foolish, and the huge gains they are recording can only explain why there are so many of them these days.

Every year, if not not thousand, I am sure that hundreds of new casinos or close to such would be registering, which could only mean that they are gaining in the business. Because no one will just venture into a business that is not lucrative for them, they would have done their feasibility studies to know the worth before they risk their money on it. So, someone would now expect them to be losing? That's not possible. Casinos are wired in favour of the house, though people will be winning as well, but it can't be as much as people would now win more than the house. I suspect the sharing formula of 75%/25% in fair casinos. Though this can't be the measuring standard, however, depending on the casinos, it's still very okay because they will have a lot to spend money on while making sure that their customers get the best service possible on their gambling platform, even as they treat their partners and employees nicely for smooth running of their business.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Phase Or Are You Slowing Down Your Gambling Activity When.... on: February 23, 2024, 03:36:57 PM
I'm talking about religious activity..

The Christians have the Holy Week and it lasts for a whole week.

The other religions I did not mention have activities or festivities that their followers and believers must observe.

Did you slow down or are you taking a vacation? how long is your vacation before and after the religious activity?

In my case, I usually slow down and stop all my gambling activity, two weeks before the religious activity so I can fully reflect on my religion, and after the religious activity, I usually take a week before I get back to my normal gambling activity.
What I can't do at any time of the year due to religion is not worth doing at all as I do not think my conscience will be taking me anywhere. No matter the region you practice, I do not advise you to be lukewarm in it, just do it faithfully and not with pretence or half in and half out. You who will gamble well before the fasting and breaking time but will not do it during the Christian fasting and breaking time is no less than a pagan and it means that you are not proud of gambling on its own if you treat it that way.

Let me even ask you, is gambling truly a sin? If yes, please cite that part of the Bible, I want to learn from you. I want the one that is so plain, and not the one that is a mere confused passage like many would say. But for me, I do everything I want to do at the season I want to do it without thinking twice, or else, I will quit it entirely.
1626  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: February 23, 2024, 08:02:19 AM

SOURCE--

in the video, it is not explained which region (city) it comes from but it is clear that the parade is from my country, in the parade it is clear what slot players get when they play from the "first" month (still motorbikes are expensive) to month "fourth" (ugly motorcycle).

without direct education by the central and local governments to young people and the general public, I think this kind of parade is not effective enough, it's even obvious, the parade is the initiative of the private community in the area.

do you think, a parade like this will be effective in reducing the level of gambling addiction?

Slot is only based on one thing and it's luck. It should be banned in all forms it's the biggest scam in the world and people fall for it because it's so easy to get addicted from.
Governments rather see young people get in addiction then show the real side of this shit. Why? Because of greed and money.
I always said if you gonna gamble, gamble on things that you can use your knowledge and skill to win. I.E: Sports betting, Horse Racing. Fighting and things like that.  Smiley
Sometimes I also come to think of this because imagine how hard  to win .

have tried playing slot many times before from Physical casino and here in crypto but never that I gain wins doubling my capital.

what happened mostly is before gaining enough? I once again starts to lose and ending losing everything till I stand out lol.

Do as me, play sports betting, study and do research and you will go plus and earn money instead of losing money from them. That's how we should do. Fight them with success not some lucky slot game they have rigged for themself.   Wink
You are on point my friend, though your reply was short yet so weighty. I hear a lot of people claiming foul play with gambling and they will emphatically say that gambling is a game of luck, but I see it differently. You see, they are more of the casino aspect of gambling in this regard, that's why they talk like that and they paint gambling so bad to the point that they say everything has been rigged against them. But it is not like that as far as I am concerned, it's just the lack of the reality of the game by them. Many aspects of gambling exist that if you play them you are only at the mercy of the casino's algorithm coded in them. In this, you will need luck to win. This is not about the house rigging anything against you but for you to solve the puzzles based on the algorithm you are playing against.

It has been there from the beginning and the fair casinos will never twist it against any player as the algorithm itself is so coded that it can never make the house regret investing in it. This is the kind of thing some gamblers are playing against in most aspects of casinos, so to win consistently as they want is not always easy. But with sports betting like you said, it's easy because most of the games are live, nothing is cheating you or writing some codes against you. The result you see is the result that would be seen in every part of the world, so it is the fairest that anyone could rely upon if they are serious and wise. They can use their expertise in sports betting to override the luck that people believe is what gives the money in gambling even as I believe that it's only the expertise that can deliver the best into your hands in gambling.
1627  Economy / Gambling / Re: My betting strategies on: February 23, 2024, 07:12:08 AM
If we're veering a bit into soccer, the goal difference is now my main analysis, especially as we're past week 18. For other sports, I also analyze the scores obtained by the athletes or clubs. The success or failure of a match is very much reflected in the scores achieved, so besides the parameters you mentioned earlier, I'm starting to consider this score as well.
What you are adding is not necessary, it's not different from what the OP narrated above. There is no way a club would have more points to climb up without having to score more goals and also win more matches. The ranking on the table and their past performances, especially when some certain team met themselves are the best assessments that can help you in this regard.

But if your idea is to be added to it, it could cause mistakes in my opinion. What we should be looking at should not be the number of goals scored alone since this will only cause mistakes in our assessments. What if they didn't win that match but often scored more goals? Some clubs could have more than 3-2 in many of their games but still lose to the opponent. What relevance is this to assess a value if they will win a match or not? It's how the OP explained it that is good, your addition is not good and has even been considered in the points like the "Club position and Point."
1628  Economy / Gambling / Re: Does anyone find the spate of online casinos a bit uninspired? on: February 23, 2024, 06:57:55 AM
Even though we have a high increase of new casinos getting introduced,  we still can easily spot the fake from the real ones this is because aside from all that you have mentioned such as copying of reputable casino templates,  we have others that have a very highly professional features that make it hard for one to spot what the shady deal is around them and at times some of them will even run for year's with backing out just like 1xbits who's casino is known for scam and low reputation but yet there are still very much available this type have the high networks that keep running without being caught at any time.

But with their reputation, we can still have them exposed,  and anyone who cares to read will already know how those scam casinos operate.

We just need to be sure and clear while making our selection for online gambling casinos, because as you've already mentioned, some of them have nothing to offer and you can have a feeling on that right from the way they have developed their site, the management, legal endorsement and licensing and many other things are what we can take a look on for us to be able to know how we can make our selections, it's not about the newly introduced platforms or the existing ones, this is base on what we want to see with online gambling casinos.
What I can agree with you is for us to be careful about gambling, especially the online gambling we are not familiar with. As long as we are not conversant with them, we should be extremely careful at first until they prove themselves, it's only this time that we will now be a bit relaxed with them. But what I can't entirely agree with you is about the old and new casino remarks, we have a better shot with the old casinos, and before we can opt for them, we should have done the simplest research about them. And the fact that they are not new in the industry, it will be easier to be furnished with many information regarding them for our easy assessment and conclusion/decision about them.

But this is not so for the new casinos, many of them have little or no presence online which makes the review/search about them more difficult and this is why I always like to stick with the old casinos since they've had dealings with enough people that can say about them But the new are still very risky. What if they are for the scam intention or would be your worst nightmare in terms of any service you may think of? I better opt for the old ones. Regardless, for the old and new casinos, you can't still use the website, endorsements, licensing and regulations to judge any company unless you verify and experience them yourself. Most of these endorsements are fake, not to mention of the gambling regulations that are weak in most jurisdictions.
1629  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: February 23, 2024, 06:27:21 AM
Casino's job is to provide good service to attract customers. Gamblers are attracted to gambling when casino quality service is good. Also if the amount of bonus is good. New gamblers join by discussing the amount of the bonus. The reputation of the casino always leads the casino to a high position. Everyone has less faith in new casinos even if they show a good reputation it will not be easy to trust them with time.
Among many considerations in choosing my casinos, the bonus is just zero of it. It's in the times that the bonus initiatives come newly into casinos that the bonus is good for me style, but as times go on, the terms and conditions of the bonus usage are not so friendly to gamblers, so I better leave it. Initially, when I first started gambling, the bonuses that were given could be used just like how you can use the money you deposited. The only difference is that you can withdraw all the money you won by the use of both the bonus and the money you deposited without any question, but you will not be able to withdraw the bonus. This is unlike now that you will have to go through some tough tasks of the terms and conditions before you withdraw the bonus. In some cases too, it will affect the withdrawal of the real money you deposited, so why waste my time on that?

But if that is okay by you guys, that's fine, just saying why I am not often excited seeing big bonuses but just to deposit my money and wager with it without additional terms and conditions that will tie my hands. However, good service and reputation matter a lot, and of course, no one can expect that quickly with new casinos. They can do and undo and it will take some years before they can prove themselves the kind of casino one would be able to trust.
1630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: February 23, 2024, 06:09:46 AM
People can never enjoy financial benefits from gambling. It can be fun if you bet with your friends all of a sudden but when you bet with a lot of money and do it regularly it becomes no fun anymore. Those who get idea about gambling gamble for fun in the initial stage and when they win gambling they gamble regularly and become addicted. There are also people who want to become financially independent from gambling, which makes them gamble regularly, which may be a mistake for them because gambling can never become financially independent.
I agree it's really stupid to think of financial benefits from gambling there is no guarantee that you will make money from it. Chasing money will become an addiction. Many people lose control of their lives while gambling and their entire lives are filled with problems because of this behavior. Leaving all the important activities of life they only look for gambling opportunities and immerse themselves in gambling. Should be played through fun if fun don't worry about any financial loss.
Two benefits could be derived from gambling which are the money and the fun, well, I do not 100% go against the gamblers that would be fixed with the money making in gambling, after all, it's part of why people gamble. But what I do not like is for them to be desperate about the money they want to make. Desperation is bad both in gambling and outside gambling, it can push you into what you wouldn't want to do, which is the bad side of it. It is only so bad and rampant in gambling because of the informal nature of gambling, but not necessarily mean that those who are seeking money through gambling cannot do well if they properly manage their account and mindset towards it.

It's about you win or you lose, but when you are so good at what you do, you get to win more than you lose, and you will still be happy. But the desperation of this is not making gamblers think rightly, that would cloud their decision because they are already emotional and desperate for the money. For this, it is bad to avoid the view of money if you can't control yourself in gambling, or else, you will lose your money, and that is if it doesn't make you miserable in addition to that. But for those who see it as fun, they can get the best out of it and even if they win since they will be happy and only consider it as an added advantage, instead of believing that it is a means to get them rich.
1631  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: February 22, 2024, 06:28:43 PM
it's best to stop giving him advice, just let it go and tell him "do whatever you want and be responsible for your actions" this way he will realize more quickly when he has lost everything and he doesn't have any hope, that way his heart will be open and he will gain a very painful experience in that way, of course he will be deterred and get better, he will think about your words

The gambler who get advice from the old gambler should be accepted.Because they will advise based on the experience on the same gambling site. The gambler who take the responsibility for the loss in the gambling site are the professional gamblers. The gambler who take responsibility for each one dollar in the gambling site will make huge from the same gambling site.Because the gambler does not take risk when they take responsibility of the money in the gambling sites. The gamblers who face the loss whose heart will be broken one in the emotion. The broken heart also reason for the loss in the gambling site most likely in random betting.
Of course what you say is very true, but have you ever been with a gambling addict who spent all his money on gambling? irresponsible gambling addicts, they won't care about what we say, even if it's for their own good, it's hard to make them aware, we can only tell them, but the choice is still up to them.
I don't like it if people give up on gambling addicts, and being an addict doesn't automatically mean that they are senseless or they are just daft to reason well. It only means that they are being controlled by gambling activities and all their mindsets are there. This is just a situation of being engrossed with something in which the doing of it has taken over the person. But the situation doesn't mean that they cannot behave themselves well and do well in other things of life. Even with your advice, they will listen to you since they are not mad, unlike the way you made it look. Only that it would take more than advice for them to change their ways, and if you are polite with the way you advise them, I do not think there will be an issue at all.

As many of you believe that you can't talk to a gambling addict simply because they are engrossed with it. What about those who got healed and changed their ways towards it just because someone advised them? We do not just conclude on our own, we should make attempts, that is the only when we can be sure if a certain gambler cannot change for good if they resist. Also, some may not change immediately after you advise them, nevertheless, it may sink into their brains, and the moment you persist in the advice, they get to change more. You may go practical as well by letting them know how gambling has ruined some people who passed through what such is passing through to let them know that their belief and quest could be helpless towards gambling. I am sure a lot has healed through mere advice and that is the least we can do, not that we would assume it's over for them.
1632  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Conspiracy theory...Binance in the spotlight...Should we be worried? on: February 22, 2024, 01:03:16 PM
It's no news that a certain presidential aide was running his mouth recently and called for the government to clamp down on Binance and other crypto exchanges alleging that they are the source of the uncontrollable fall of the national currency. Personally, I don't believe it even though there could be some slight contributory effect.

Regardless, what the P2P system is based upon is not any different from how it's operating globally, so why are other countries not alleging manipulations? Have you ever heard of a top-world country fighting an exchange rate window for its price rate manipulation? That got me confused because what is happening in our P2P on exchanges is what is happening in other countries' P2P. Needless to say, before the P2P initiative, similar systems were in place without any issues or shift of blame.

If the economy is good, your currency will reflect it, Period!

The situation has dragged Binance out already and many others have started with their conspiracy theories. Look at the latest I found below:

https://punchng.com/how-binance-p2p-contributes-to-plummeting-naira-value

That was when I was still pondering on what the cooperation Binance is having with the Nigeria government capping the P2P rate as seen below:

https://punchng.com/forex-binance-adopts-price-cap-as-presidential-aide-advocates-ban

Now, as an active financial market trader, there is this broker I almost weekly withdraw $ from. The broker doesn't just set a price but draws it directly from its electronic trading platform with global correlation (No P2P). What I noticed since years back is that Binance's P2P rate is always higher than that of the broker, but suddenly after the pressure on Binance, the broker's price is now more than Binance's price. Sad

If you read the second link above, you will discover that Binance promised that it would "cap" the P2P rate. Is that not what is happening now?

I understand on the part of Binance that it's the least they can do to save their business and reputation. But will they not be manipulating the price by the capping? What I believe they are now doing is knowing the prevailing rate elsewhere and removing some Naira value from it to form the P2P price. This could mean that the Binance P2P rate will be lagging from now, and in a plain term, you will be paid less for your $ henceforth if this is true though it won't be announced.

This is still young, so I will continue to check for the difference to be more rigid about the suspicion and keep you posted.
1633  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: From the arrest of BDC operators to Binance and other crypto manipulating on: February 22, 2024, 11:06:13 AM
I've been following this news and similar ones for a while now, well, let me say that everyone is entitled to their opinions, but we should let them be as reasonable as possible. Cryptocurrency can't be entirely exonerated from some of the FX issues Nigeria is facing. You don't have to agree with me, and I've been mentioning it in some of my posts on this board even before the situation becomes as tough as this. One thing links to the other which eventually leads to some situations. But it only depends on how we can be thoughtful about it as it's not everybody who looks that is actually seeing clearly.

But for someone to shift the blame on exchanges is out of it. Crypto exchanges are only doing their business around cryptocurrency just like any other fiats, and mostly banks. They never created the price, and neither do they single-handedly fix it, it's the market forces that determine the price. It was AbokiFX, BDC etc they shifted the blame to initially without any positive results after clamping down on them. Now they decided to take it more digital by alleging Binance and others of manipulation.

Like I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but let them prove it as well. In every part of the world, rates are seen electronically and it's the market factor that determines its adjustment whether it will rise or fall. What I see here is that the Nigerian government has failed in their responsibilities and the useless policies they make, they are now looking for people and companies to blame as usual. The solution is for the government to reverse many of their policies and also encourage exportation for more FX to be brought into the country to crash the supply in Naira. Successive governments have been so insensitive and always wrong with their policies, that's what is causing what we experience now, nothing else.

Other countries are dealing with Binance and other exchanges on P2P as well without affecting their national currencies, why is Nigeria's own different? That guy is just saying nonsense.
1634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: February 22, 2024, 09:25:35 AM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.

This attitude is very common among gamblers as some persons can even become aggressive when they are experiencing losses then in a case of winning they become so happy as some of them can even share part of the winnings with other gamblers around them, gambling shouldn't be played with emotions whether you win or not and one shouldn't be too emotionally attached to gambling such that any outcome of it would affect the gambler.
I share in your view, and since we are humans, human feelings will always tell on us, especially when we lose or gain money. It's however the feeling of joy when it is positive, but when it is negative, the feelings have always been bad. To the extent that people around us would know that something is going on with us. This is the part I do not like about the whole thing, we should learn how to control ourselves regardless of how we feel. Well, I am not perfect, but as a father and husband, I've trained myself not to be ugly in reaction and aggression around my family no matter the situation. I do show excitement when I win, especially when I win big in trading to the point that I wouldn't be able to hide the feelings even if I wanted to. But if it is the other way around, I do not show it. This is possible because I fight it, it could show a little bit by it will take a very sensitive person to know between my usual time and that time.

That's how I believe we should react after gambling outcomes, we should never allow gambling to change our behaviour. Think of it, whether the outcome is good or bad, can we change it back? That's why we should let go when it is negative but always only risk the money that will not hurt us while gambling to make it easier for us. For me, I do not even feel it when I gamble, maybe it's because trading has taken the whole of the space for my emotions and reactions. I feel trading in all senses, maybe it's because I see more light to make money in there than in gambling. This could have been what's helping me to feel less of strange behaviour in gambling.

~

I believe when comes to betting on events like this one (elections and political happenings), it is common to see lower odds than in some sport matches, that is true, that is the downside. The upside is that there is a lot of time for people to analyze (with the United States elections we have literal months before choosing our move) and we have more resources to lead ourselves to a right prediction, you know: polls, rallies, news; now we have indictments, scandals with secret documents... This could be a good chance for some people wise within the political analysis so make some good money, even those with those low odds. It must be kind of weird for someone like you to be in the spotlight of the news and becoming an important factor for the United States to choose their next leader and the alleged leader of the free world.
I believe you have told me before, you think Trump does not actually many chances to become the next president of the country, if so, then you should step forward and wager some money in favor of Joe Biden, not much, though. It could be fun.  Smiley
I am myself waiting for this year to continue to advance before finally deciding where to put my money on, if you already have a choice then do it.

Yes, it can be fun. I mean, I think I'll wager a dollar closer to the elections. It'll give, what, three dollars? Still it will be fun, right?

Now look Michelle Obama is the third favourite among gamblers:

I would definitely wager a dollar on her if you ask me. I'll wait a bit and maybe the multiplier for her will be over 10.00 again and then I will place my bet. She has a good chance in my opinion.
Hahaha...What I see in this image above is not only funny but absurd, to say the least. If not for the fact that people do not often know how the system of the US is working, especially the justice system, someone like Donald Trump should be behind bars by now. Not to mention trying to contest for the president of the country, and also not to mention of being given the lowest odd of 1.90 while the incumbent president is given 3.4 odds which is almost the odd that speaks of being almost twice lower in chance compared to Donald Trump.

Joe Biden is not without faults in this administration but certainly better than Trump when it comes to the core view of the American people. His chance could have possibly reduced due to the white extremism of Trump but it can't be as bad as the odds paint it. I will leave the two to it until the time comes but the inclusion of Michelle Obama in this is just gross. I do not think she can make it out of primaries not to talk of seeing her on the ballot papers.
1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 22, 2024, 08:49:20 AM
I advise everyone to see this video, I'm not related to this person, but I can relate to his stories and the gambling addiction that most of us could have been suffering for years. This is the second video that I have been watching and they say the same things. Not just money they lose, but time and relationship. The other video that I saw that he was not even present with the delivery of his first and second kid, he was done gambling and trying to make money for the hospital bills but it turns out that he losses in both time.

Perhaps you have seen other videos as well and maybe share it here.
I've had enough stories of people that gambling ruined their lives blah, blah, blah... Is it gambling that ruined their lives or they ruined their lives? This kind of story didn't start today, it started in days immemorial, and it will continue after this age. It all depends on us and not gambling, gambling will always remain what it is, but we should be wise and smart toward it. Gambling that some people would say has ruined their lives is the same gambling some would say it blessed them, and it is still the same gambling some would be neutral about. In this light, don't you think these 3 sets of people do it differently?

That's it, the way you engage gambling is the way you get the result from it whether good or bad. In gambling, people can gain or lose, but what you do after the outcomes defines you, my friend. Some who win will play more to try their luck further, and if they continue to gain, greed might set in and anything could happen afterwards. But others could lose and attempt revenge for the loss, and before they know it, they may lose more and become addicted to it or just be devastated.

In all, no one forces you here, it is your choice. No one should blame gambling for the choice taken by any adult. If they win and the house loses, won't they be happy? But when the house wins and they lose, they will believe it is terrible, but I do not see it that way. Even if we lose, can't we control ourselves and manage our gambling portfolio? But the inability of us to do that is why we become desirable towards gambling.

Sincerely whose fault is that? Certainly, our fault and not of gambling, because it is we who can't control ourselves and correctly manage our gambling activities.
1637  Other / Meta / Re: Icopress ' Merit Source Application 🚩 on: February 22, 2024, 08:25:48 AM
Not only that, but a certain group of DT1 users gift each other absurdly high numbers of merits between themselves (on the pretext that somehow the merits will trickle down the slippery slope) then do little to gift those merits to up an coming users.

I agree there needs to be a separation between anyone dispensing merits and those administering signature campaigns.
I've said many times here that the merit system is not as people think of it, and I've sided with those who claimed some impartial sharing is going on. Seeing you now again saying a similar thing, I conclude that unbiased people can think beyond the bracket and those who are favoured by the impartiality will always look away.

Well, I am not against the campaign managers becoming a merit source, but it might be biased towards the people in their campaigns. They have enough work to do already, and for this, they can't move around like those who are not CMs.
1638  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don’t play gambling with drugs or in half sleep on: February 22, 2024, 08:07:15 AM
I had a friend who use to play the gambling only when he consumed drugs,Sometimes he use yo win the money. But most of the time he loss the funds, when we have a chat on the weekend we shared our experiences. The reason of the loss in the drug consumption is the gambler will play the game without any hesitation to take risk. The gambling is the risky game, the gamblers who take huge risk some times make the huge multiple of betting dollars. But the risk doesn’t make him win, because the meaning of the risk is the possibility of losing and winning.Every month we meet each other, the odds between us is gambling.
Well, let me first disclaim that I am not in support of drugs or any stimulants to do anything whatsoever, yet, the case of your friend can't speak for all situations. To some people when they take drugs or alcohol and other stimulants, that's the time they record the highest productivity and best decision-making. But to many others, that's when they act irrationally, so it depends on the person we are talking about, the level of the stimulant such takes and how he can moderate this stimulant as well. I've never taken beyond alcohol in my life and my observation shows that the results have been positive taking it while betting or trading. It is just like pushing out the best in me by emboldening me to do what I should do even at those times that I fear taking the risk. This is not in any way near the effect of drugs, but one can still relate to them similarly since they work almost the same way.

Drugs are bad, I wonder why he takes them in the first place, and if he must take the drugs, he should have known his limits or the personal effect of the drugs on himself and what he does before taking them. Since he now knows that it is negative on himself and his activities, I think that it will be wise for him to stop immediately, after all, there's no good in taking drugs. If not now, it will still ruin the person if care is not taken. I know a lot of them who push drugs, but none of them have ever had a good testimony to share unless they quit it.
1639  Other / Meta / Re: Demand for non-Telegram forum notifications? on: February 22, 2024, 07:33:09 AM
Now the question: Is there is demand for those notifications outside Telegram?
Would you use a website, setup email or browser notifications, etc... for all the stuff I wrote above?
Sorry if this is coming late, I just saw it. First, let me thank you for the good notification work done with the Telegram integration, I must say that I'm enjoying it.

But using the notification service on another channel could only mean more compromise and the risk is too high for those who want to keep their privacy. Telegram has been the best shot for people these days when it comes to a thing like this. Not even Whatsapp can be able to compare itself in this regard.

I wouldn't want it in my email for personal reasons, but if it can pop up when I am actively surfing the Bitcointalk is a very good option. I am not a tech-savvy guy, but so long as it's working fine without compromising one's privacy, I think it is a good one.
1640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum price approaches $3k on: February 22, 2024, 07:12:08 AM
The $3,000 is no longer new to Ethereum this week, it's a good comeback by the coin which is showing the resilient nature of the coin now. Being the number 2 cryptocurrency in the world by market capitalization rating, it has lived up to the standard. It is able to do whatever Bitcoin is doing and always proves itself to be a worthy rival without disappointing both its short and long-term investors. As it is now, Ethereum will certainly hit its ATH of about $4865 again, it has behaved as a very serious coin, and nothing should stop it from hitting that level even before the end of 2024.

It hit the $3,000 you mentioned on Tuesday and also hit it yesterday but the two days did not witness a close above that level which makes it not stable above there for now. Going forward, I know that it will have a close above it pretty soon, maybe next week or month, and by then it can be rigid on what's next afterwards.

Regarding the ETF approval, the chance of approving Ethereum is very high. If the SEC could approve Bitcoin, there can't be a good reason why Ethereum with better utility would not be approved.
