Theymos has done it before but he's away atm. Maybe Badbear can do it now though.
I doubt it. I think theymos mentioned has to directly edit the database to change the ownership of a thread which BadBear doesn't have access to, as far as I know.

A long time ago, I had to get theymos to change thread ownership, I was told he is the only one with DB access, This probably still is the case.

Are people allowed to create a new thread there in their respective language?
I mean if you have Czech already, is someone allowed to make a thread (about let's say gambling) in that language?

As far as I know, A user can repost in another language in the respective forum section.

Also posts that contain only quotes but no input should be 100% reported right?

If it's a direct quote, where they are adding nothing to the conversation, then yes, But if someone quotes a question and answer that was buried pages ago, I believe it's allowed  Huh Guess

Coolmax, and Raidmax both 1200w and gold rated

I will purchase psu's if you sell the unit without them.

I am buying the unit with no PSU so probably should work out!

I donated it to squall on his behalf as its obviously the right thing to do, Helping him by giving it to squall seems the right thing Smiley

Received, Thats fantastic, Thanks alot, Kudos to you!

our data center is still unstable and host service is temprary locked , and we are talking to lketc to co-operate to build a farm then i can host them

My farm up here in Canada is almost ready. Power is roughly $0.05Kw/h. Let me know if you need a host.

Edit: I am also interested on pricing for units without PSU's.

Location?

I'd also be down for a few units without PSUs included. If they are included, I might still be interested, but only if they come with all the modular cables they originally come with so I can reuse them elsewhere.

Toronto, Canada. PM me for me details.

Doesn't Canada still have to pat import duties? Forgive me if I am wrong, I am not from that part of the world.
1627  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S3 miner - I'm in the UK on: August 27, 2014, 11:21:38 AM
hosting can never be as good as owning your own, the hosting people need eat also. business electric is 11p a unit, better yet is a diesel generator it will get it down to a penny a unit or less.

If you do the sums its a no brainer to send miners abroad (when subject to vat).

Business electric is around 11p + VAT + CCL those add quite a bit. Hosters usually have MUCH cheaper electric that offsets the hosting cost.

Let's use an S3 as an example over 6 months

UK
Miner £180.00
Import Duty £36.00
Electric (182 days at £1.30)  = £236.60

Total £452.60

USA
Miner $295.00
Import Duty $0.00
Hosting (6 months at $75) = $450

Total $745.00 = £450.00

So there is not a lot in it, but if you run a few machines you have to start thinking about cooling, and office space, and rent and rates etc etc none of which are a factor when hosting.

The diesel generator sounds like fun though Smiley

+1  though were missing something important, Most of us like to hash with more units than a residential home can power!
anything more than 3-4 dragons or S2's and your in trouble, anyone here like spending $$$ upgrading their power lines?
1628  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS 4 TH/s] Dragon Miner1 TH/s $999 USD + Shipping Each (*1 Week Free Hosting) on: August 27, 2014, 10:16:09 AM
can the hosting be continued? or do you need them out the way?

Scratch that, Sorry, I seen the new ones are out, I will wait for these 1.5Th at $1349 with 1070w at the wall.

Still a deal for someone closer, I was looking to keep them hosted as it would not be worth shipping. GLWS
1629  Other / Off-topic / winter is just around the corner, How are you keeping warm? on: August 26, 2014, 05:19:09 PM
Rather than put on my 2KWH heater, I will have some mining equipment around the house, Why not earn as I burn?

I cant sleep in alot of noise, I was wondering what I could use in/near the bedroom for heat?

The older KNC units were fairly quiet, 700W for 500GHs is not bad, and they are cheap now.

Whats the quietest miner you can think of?

I know it's a little late, I feel your loss, But we need this message out there, Bitcoin is not faulty, Users are!

As soon as something has a value, People will do anything to get it, Even more so if there is no way to find them.

I hate to say it, there is little to nothing anyone can do, Stay in there, follow these rules.

1) Never use an online wallet, This includes exchanges to store coins.
2) All ways password (encrypt) your wallet, Dont use 12345 /facepalm
3) for the love of peanut butter, BACK IT UP in several safe locations (a few usb sticks)
4) dont download ANYTHING unless it has been confirmed here (thieves use programs to gain access to wallets, They will say anything to get you to download and run a file)
5) 2FA whatever you can (gmail 2FA is good to store info)
6) Never write down wallet password on your computer (watch out for for key-loggers a good anti-malware will help you) This includes telling your best friend, You wont know who did it.

Dragons do not like sharing workers on stratum pools

I don't understand how the dragons are even able to detect that they are sharing the same worker. That sounds impossible. So I don't understand how they can have a problem with sharing workers.

Just make sure you set a worker difficulty on bitminter.com for their worker that is the same or higher than the difficulty set in the dragons' configs, to prevent them from throwing away valid work.

Did that, For some reason, It did nothing  Huh I don't understand anything about the dragons, I have told this to friends that have had problems and switching to independent workers worked for them too.

Not to worry, I will be on the list again soon enough.  Grin
1632  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S3 miner - I'm in the UK on: August 26, 2014, 01:39:23 PM
I thought so... The average of 2013 was 17.2 pence, which is around 0.26$... Damn UK is expensive... hard to ROI mining in UK. I think people will soon change to hosted mining instead of home mining. At least in UK.

Thats exactly what I have done, The offset of import duties alone goes towards hosting costs  Grin

I have not gone either  Grin

My story - I was in the top 30 ish on the list, I had alot of dragon miners that did not want to work well on a stratum pool, So I had to move them all away, Sorry Dr, I could not justify paying to use more workers as a "perk" (for those that don't know, And a useful bit of info, Dragons do not like sharing workers on stratum pools) I am going through my hashing units and chucking on things like S3's back on this pool, So I am still here.

In a way, It's not a bad idea to split hashing power, I dont have all my eggs in one basket.

Lets see some green  Tongue I am trying to get back in the top 50.

1636  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] S3 miner - I'm in the UK on: August 25, 2014, 05:28:24 PM
Did you have any luck on this?

Without sounding like I am flaming, I really would try and afford 2 direct from Bitmain, Problem is, I have a B6 S3's I paid 0.64 and paid import duties being also in the UK (£55 per unit  Shocked ), I could not sell for less than 0.75 a unit, But this might not make its break even for you.

Anyone who has them in hand now could not sell them for the same as direct (thank you customs)

Let us know if you got a deal, It would be nice to see someone helping you out.

Nothing offered as of yet.

I was tempted to grab 2x S3's from bitmain, but as you have pointed out our wonderful HMRC wants £55 per unit.

I have had a look on eBay and they are going for £330 + which makes ROI not just difficult but almost impossible.

So I'm patiently sat here waiting for an offer lol

Cheers
Mark

£330 is well over a coin in BTC relationship, My offer of one for 0.75 is the best I can do if you just want one fast, (as I am in the UK I can post tomorrow) I will even post for 0.05 thats only £10 it will cost £20 so I will pay half shipping, so 0.8 for one unit is still cheeper than feebay.

I know it's not the best offer, But it's better than no offer  Grin

1638  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] LOTRO game time code (DONE) on: August 21, 2014, 02:43:04 PM
Hiya, I am looking for "the lord of the rings online" VIP 60 day all access game time code.

Please note, I believe their might be an issue with codes being bought in USA for use in europe, I am not sure as I have never used game codes before, this was just a rumor I heard.

I think it's only 60 day and one year that can be bought? Let me know if you find other options.

I am not a noob, You go first, I enter code then pay, I will only pay first to members with similar trust rating.

Payment in PP (varified) or BTC.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT - I have just been messaged about if I can pay in PP why dont I subscribe and pay directly in PP,

Answer - As I was a subscriber, About 6 months ago I stopped playing so I stopped paying, When I went to start it again, It will not let me pay "failed to add paypay"
On searching this error, Some people have submitted tickets and are still waiting for this to be solved 2 months down the line "help desk my arse" LOL, So unwilling to wait this time, I need a game code to activate VIP so I can unlock characters for a while.

did that make sense?

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit 2 - I think I am done, no need to bump this, I have a member trying to sort me out.

Thanks everyone for the help.
1639  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1450 TH] BitMinter.com [1% PPLNS,Pays TxFees +MergedMining,Stratum,GBT,vardiff] on: August 15, 2014, 06:22:54 PM
I need to donate half a percent to have more than 5 workers, But There is a 1% fee on this donation  Huh

No, that 1% is the pool fee which is taken out of the block income before miners are paid. I put the "(+1% fee)" in there because a lot of people thought if they donate 1% the total is 1% (it's actually 1% donation + 1% fee = 2%). Or that if they set donation to 0% they pay nothing (actually the 1% fee is still there). I tried to make the pool fee more visible to clear up this confusion.

I'll be lowering the donation requirements on several of the perks soon.

For some reason dragons do not work well sharing a worker

The Dragon miners don't implement the Stratum mining protocol properly. They ignore the difficulty the server tells them to use and use whatever difficulty you set in the Dragon miner config. This is incredibly stupid and a violation of the stratum protocol. It can result in most of your work being wasted. Make sure you set a minimum difficulty on your Bitminter workers that is the same or higher than the difficulty you set in your Dragon miner config.

If you already knew this, never mind Smiley Maybe the issue you are having is something completely different.

Thanks for the info Dr, I actually did not know why the dragon miners worked like this.

I find the perks and donation settings confusing non the less  Embarrassed Maybe set up a donation based list, This will create some competition in who donates the most (in %)

I actually want to donate, But I would love to use more workers and not feel like I am paying for them, and have a star next to my name saying I am a donator  Roll Eyes

Its nice to see the Hero and Legendary members jumping back in to the conversation.  We really need to make sure everyone gets this whole luck and randomness thing (i.e. nothing that has happened in the past has any relevance to the future).

Its been really disappointing to see the hash rate dropping during this tough time.  I understand that some people really can't keep the lights on with these low moments but if your bankroll is stable enough there's no reason to jump around.

That is so true, I used to leave for greener pastures after a pools "bad" bit, And I just kept on chasing bad luck after bad luck, We really have to tough it out!

btw...sold some miners, didnt leave the pool.

Thats good news, What have you got lined up for the next stint?
