I don't expect too much from Midtjylland honestly. Their huge victory over Lazio shouldn't be misleading. I think it was just due to Lazio's not focusing on that match most probably. In addition to that, Lazio had their revenge on them by a 2-1 victory in Italy later on. 

The teams remaining are powerful ones of course. None of them deserves to be underestimated. Roma, Leverkusen and Monaco are teams that are quite away from the leader in their domestic leagues now. Therefore this trio might decide to focus on the Europa League title a little more. PSV are in a great championship race with several teams in the Eredivisie. Their job is more difficult as they will need to keep both tournaments balanced. However I think they are still strong enough to eliminate Sevilla. Because Sevilla are having really bad days.

I believe Frankfurt are getting close to the end of their journey in the Champions League. Because Napoli are just a way stronger team than them. I know that they showed good performances against Sporting, Marseille and Tottenham in the group stage. But I don't think any of these teams seem stronger than Napoli for now. Napoli are a team that destroyed Liverpool in a group match as you remember. Apart from that, they have had a wonderful run not only here but also in the Serie A.

It only depends on how quick they will get their usual form back after the end of this break. If they keep the same level then Frankfurt will say goodbye to the tournament most probably.

But this isn't a proof that it can always work smoothly. If one of Mbappe and Haaland starts being uncomfortable this would affect the team performance in a bad way also.

Maybe Leicester have started to make progress in the Premier League by their recent results. However their next match is going to be a quite tough one. The opponent is Newcastle and we have all witnessed how strong they have been no matter what their matches have been against similar level of teams or bigger teams. We have had a long break to the leagues of course and we never know how the teams in the league will be returning by the first matches. But I still hope to see a competitive match between Leicester and Newcastle.

If you look at Leicester's last five matches you can see that they conceded only one goal. It was against Manchester City and their only loss in the meantime. As they have made a big improvement in defense I think they have the strength to get at least one point against Newcastle and stop their winning streak at the same time.

I wonder whether this is related to the De Gea situation in the team now. Because his future at the team is still ambiguous now. He is about to have only six months left on his contract and there is still no agreement between two sides yet. I think De Gea would like to stay now. There wasn't such thing like they weren't passing the ball to each other or so. On the contrary, they were making assists to each other and they were celebrating the goals together cheerfully.

I don't think we will see any problem between these players on the field from now on also. Neymar likes Messi more than Mbappe of course but he doesn't play with only Messi in their matches at the same time.

Dortmund - Chelsea is one of the interesting and competitive matchups I believe. Because it feels like these teams are at almost the same level right now. Chelsea's having bad days has a big affect on this to happen of course. Otherwise I wouldn't say that Dortmund are close to their level. Because Dortmund are still a team that have a quite weak defense. They are still unable to solve their issues in their defense line and this causes them to concede many goals. This is the biggest factor dragging them down.

Chelsea were actually being called as one of the best defense teams in the past. But we have left those days behind now. They are now a team that have big vulnerabilities in not only defense but also offense. They have made their striker transfer but Nkunku won't be able to come before next summer. If Potter doesn't figure out a way for a fix then Dortmund can have a chance to get past them.

Looking at the lineups of Manchester City and Liverpool, I can say that both teams have their usual starting eleven players on the field now. I see Palmer and Bajcetic as not regulars. The goalkeepers are also different for both teams. This must be one of the reasons why the odds were given like that. However I saw the odds being in favour of Manchester City even more in time. I saw their odd even around 1.40-1.50 before the match started. My favourite is also them. Manchester City have dominated the EFL Cup also for long years.

Football Manager benim için de onlardan birisi bu arada. Çünkü bir süre sonra kariyer sıkıyor ve bırakıyorum. Tekrar hevesim gelene kadar da zaten yeni oyunu çıkmış ve Game Pass'e direkt olarak eklenmiş oluyor. Aslında Call of Duty oyunlarının da Game Pass'e gelme ihtimali vardı ama Sony Activision'a sırf Microsoft bunu yapamasın diye para veriyormuş. Microsoft Activision'ı satın almasına rağmen resmen istediği gibi hareket edemiyor. 

Roma actually have some good players in their hands. Especially after their latest transfers the team are stronger in especially the attacking line of the team. However the general quality might still not be enough for winning the Serie A championship. They are trailing behind some big teams in the league in terms of the quality. But on one hand, we can say that the quality is not always enough for winning championships in any league. It is the truth that more qualified teams win championships more often.

However we still sometimes see that one of the remaining teams has a great season thanks to a strong bond between the players and a solid team spirit. Who knows maybe it will be Roma's turn next after Napoli win this season. But to do so, I think Roma need to change their game plan first. Mourinho is still going on with old things which isn't changing anything for Roma now.

Arsenal players must be just rubbing their hands after seeing a draw between Barcelona and Manchester United.    Because in the end, one of the biggest contenders for the Europa League title will surely be out of the tournament. I don't think which one to be eliminated matters for Arsenal now. Because both of them would be a big challenge for them here. I would like to remind you of one fact that Manchester United defeated Arsenal by 3-1 in the EPL this season.

Maybe Barcelona have seemed quite weak in big matches so far but I don't expect them to stay the same until the end of the season. Especially this long break must have been enough for them and Xavi to create a solution to this problem. I hope to see a stronger game plan in such matches from now on. It looks like Atletico Madrid might have to face some losses in January transfer window. Griezmann and Felix are the most speculated players to leave these days. Real Madrid really didn't need Mbappe last season for example. They had almost the same squad with this one and they won the Champions League title and the La Liga one at the same time. Now things are going very well for them again. Maybe the competition level is higher in the La Liga now but they are still one of the biggest title contenders. They haven't had much problem in the Champions League either. Despite not having the most impressive squad in the Champions League they are still staying very strong thanks to the discipline.

However in the future I still expect to see Mbappe being signed by Real Madrid by a record fee. His contract details would be extraordinary just as it is now also. Especially if Mbappe wins the Champions League title with PSG then he might be more eager to join Real Madrid for a new excitement.

I don't understand some people who directly start criticizing their manager who had good successes in the future very harshly. Nagelsmann was really one of these managers when Bayern Munich made a bad start in the Bundesliga. However people shouldn't be this much cruel. We don't see Bayern Munich that much bad very often as we all know. I was still not negative about Bayern Munich's future in this season and here we are now. It's like nothing happened and they are in the lead easily before even the end of the first half of the season.

This kind of managers or the managers who have just arrived at the team should be given enough time to fix the problems after detecting them properly.

Mercedes just needed a driver who can accept being the second driver of the team without making it much problem. I think they have really found that one. Mick Schumacher is like one of the most easy going drivers on the grid now. I haven't seen him having issues with Magnussen so far. When it comes to the competition between Magnussen and Mick, I'm afraid Magnussen has seemed the better side. Mick doesn't seem like a very talented driver to me for now. Haas made a big progress this season by increasing the power of the car a lot but Mick couldn't take advantage of it as much as Magnussen.

Mick would be a decent second driver by taking Hamilton's place and he wouldn't be much trouble for Russell I think. Russell would really like to have a teammate like him as Russell is very competitive and hungry for wins.

It is nice to see Chelsea finally finding a solution to their scoring problem by transferring Nkunku officially. They will need to be patient until seeing him in the squad though but hopefully it will be worth it.

It has been a long time since Chelsea found just the striker they needed. Things didn't work well with Lukaku. It was one of the funniest things actually. They sold him for a price around 35m euros to Everton and they had to pay more than 100m euros to sign him back from Inter. After all that impressive effort at Inter, his performance at Chelsea was a disaster again. Now he is loaned to Inter and he will be joining them permanently later on as far as I know. This is one of the most negative transfers for the team surely. Werner also changed after leaving Leipzig and didn't meet the expectations. Chelsea really need Nkunku to give the expected performance finally.
