16201  Other / Meta / Re: LoyceV's Merit source application on: April 24, 2018, 09:25:27 PM
Seriously, can we just make this man a merit source already? I don't know if there are some hidden criteria, but if Loyce can't achieve them, then there is zero hope for anybody else.
16202  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Uk law want to now starve alfie evens to death because he survived on: April 24, 2018, 08:57:00 PM
There is no split in the medical community on this case. The doctors on one side want to stop artificially prolonging his suffering. The doctors on the other side only want to continue life support to provide palliative care until he dies at a later date. You wouldn't subject a pet to this kind of pain and torture, why is ok to subject a child to the same when he has absolutely zero chance of recovery?

Your posts are as misinformed and downright stupid as the mob of protestors who tried to storm a hospital and attack doctors over this. Disgusting, low-life behaviour.
16203  Other / Meta / Re: MERIT on: April 24, 2018, 07:28:07 PM
Will newbies EVER learn to use the search function? There is nothing in this thread that has not been discussed at length 100 times before. Can we please trash it?
16204  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Forum Puzzle on: April 23, 2018, 09:05:15 PM
Puzzle No.: 14
Puzzle Type: Cryptogram
Sponsor: alegotardo
Reward: 1 Merit

Tip: process

ORGANIZED/ORGANIZES
REACTIONS
EQUATIONS

All these words fit, and all make some sense when linked with the clue "process", althought I suspect "algorithm" as has been previously suggested might be the correct answer.
16205  Other / Meta / Re: @Admins: Merit not working as configured, trolls just don't care (no surprise) on: April 23, 2018, 08:57:17 PM
but maybe you are one of some exceptions.

I am an exception only that I don't spam ANN, Bounty and megathreads with the same old vacuous nonsense, like the vast majority of lower-level accounts. My individual posts are by no means exceptional - I simply add to the discussion by posting original thoughts in coherent English.
16206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC vs LTC - The Litecoin Transaction Tells the Story on: April 23, 2018, 07:33:13 PM
I just posted this in another thread about this Litecoin transaction. I will quote it here because it is relevant.

This transaction is worthless as a measure of it being a good coin. Just as big transactions are a worthless measure for all coins. How often do you think people are transferring $99 million? Exactly. I want to know how much the fees are when I pay $1 for a hamburger or $2 for a coffee. If the fee is still $0.40, then that's 20-40% of my payment, and your coin is useless.

We should be judging coins on their speed and cost for small transfers, not large ones.

Litecoin is a good coin for a number of reasons, but it is not making Bitcoin obsolete as OP claims.
16207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin's transaction in $99 millions on: April 23, 2018, 07:25:12 PM

16208  Other / Meta / Re: Where can I find new members to award with merits on: April 23, 2018, 07:18:36 PM
It's no good looking on the beginner's or discussion boards. They are all about bounty and air drops and social networking stuff. I'd like to award members that are interested in Bitcoin and reputable crypto currencies, but I've almost given up trying to find them.

hello sir, i think that merit should spread around all members, many members working hard to rank up but no merit receiving even though good and helpful posts. i have many excellent posts with large information and would be grateful sir if you consider would give me some merit. i only like reputable currenices like marinecoin and bitcoincashgolddarkprivatediamond. i am new by the way.

Seriously though:

Certainly when I was brand new, I didn't feel like I had the knowledge or confidence to contribute in the technical boards, and so a lot of my early posts (and early merits) were in either Bitcoin or Altcoin Discussion. When I read/comment on those boards now, I sort by newest threads first (add ;sort=first_post;desc to the end of the url). The first few replies after a topic has started is where you are most likely to find original thoughts and not just endless repeats, and you can tell pretty quickly whether an actual discussion is forming or whether the threads is turning in to another shitposting megathread. Don't know if that's any help to you? YMMV.
16209  Other / Meta / Re: @Admins: Merit not working as configured, trolls just don't care (no surprise) on: April 23, 2018, 02:39:00 PM
-snip-

I registered my account the same month that you did. I'm not a hero or legendary member, I don't personally know anyone on the forum, and I had the same starting disadvantage that you did. I continue to privately report scammers and spammers, and have never asked for or earned any merit by doing this, or by using giveaway threads. I have earned 150 merit, you have earned 2.

What's my point here? Two things. Firstly, your argument that merit penalises lower members is nonsense, as I was a "lower member" like you when it was introduced. Merit penalises shitposters. Which leads us on to my second point - the difference between you and me. The vast majority of your posts are shitposts in [ANN] Or [Bounty] threads. The reason you aren't being merited is because you don't deserve to be merited. You see merit as your right, and this forum as nothing more than a tool to earn money.
16210  Other / Meta / Re: Merit sources should be increase in no. on: April 23, 2018, 11:18:04 AM
I can hand a free tip to anyone wanting merit and thats to use chrome browser for this forum and select English as the primary language and allow it use a dictionary on all your posts.   Every time you post, click preview and it will highlight all the words that got mistakenly misspelt.

I dont think a grammar check is as easy to do but just correcting the basic mistakes is a good start.    I cant really merit anything that isnt laid out properly or edited out mistakes.   I mean if your post is pure gold then sure it can be over looked some and my writing is definitely not perfect but usually poorly written equates to worthless content unfortunately, its quite simple.   People wont read it nevermind give merit.

Its good news that local boards will have merit sources, so long as its not exploited or has some oversight.

Excuse me Sir, English is like my 3rd language but how can you discuss about grammar errors when you use "dont" and "cant" "its"? (If i'm not wrong dont has no meaning and "cant" "its" can be used but have a different meaning without the apostrophe)

You are correct that his grammar isn't perfect (and neither is yours) but he is easily understood (and so are you), and that's the important point.

I will quite happily overlook some minor spelling and grammar mistakes if your post is worthwhile and I can read it at a normal speed and understand it first time. If, however, I have had to read the first line 4 times and still have no idea what you are trying to say, I'm not wasting any more of my time and you are probably going on ignore.
16211  Other / Meta / Re: Am I wrong to report these topics as "Low quality spambait topic. Read OP."? on: April 23, 2018, 09:48:37 AM
It's best to block it before it starts then.

Remove the avility to post in Serious Discussion from Juniors.

Restrct new members with fewer than 5 merit to the beginners, meta boards, and create a new beginners help board.

Agree, but not meta. Or create a separate meta for Juniors. The amount of merit spam in here, rehashing the same topic and replies 1000 times, is already ridiculous. Can you imagine how bad it would be if merit actually limits their posting too?
16212  Economy / Reputation / Re: [Ask] Lauda's red trust policy on: April 23, 2018, 05:20:21 AM
I am not sure if you are being serious or are trolling. I think you should review the number of people who have excluded lauda from their trust list and reevaluate your conclusion that community consensus is that lauda is doing a "good job"

I think you should review the amount of negative trust you have and reevaluate your conclusion that community consensus is that we care about your endless and repetitive spamming.

I don't think it is unreasonable to expect either Lauda to be held accountable for his trust ratings, nor for you to be held accountable for those you have on your trust list. Nor should it be unreasonable for people to discuss with you the ratings your trust list directly results in showing up by default.

What is unreasonable is for you to start multiple nonsense threads and derail multiple other threads all on to the topic of Lauda for your ridiculous personal vendetta, especially when everyone you are trying to rope in to your delusions is telling you kindly to STFU.
16213  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano Ripple wallet app is BLANK. Please help on: April 22, 2018, 09:11:44 PM
X86 should work on all. X64 is limited to 64-bit operating systems.

Of course, my mistake. Thanks for the correction.

There is no option for chossing different bits in ledger website . There is only one version (64 bits)  to download. https://www.ledgerwallet.com/apps/ripple

If you go to their Github - Ripple - Releases, you can find the x86 version there. As I said, I've not had this problem so I can't guarantee this is a fix, but it seemed to work for the same issue for that user on reddit.
16214  Economy / Reputation / Re: PHARMA PUSSY. on: April 22, 2018, 09:04:30 PM
IF NOT,someone should be starting removing the reds that hes given to my alts.

Trust isn't moderated, so that ain't gonna happen. Again, you would know this if you spent any time reading the forum, and not just spamming your shitposts. You might as well lock this thread.
16215  Other / Meta / Re: Few merits every month for everybody, how much depends on rank. Not a good idea? on: April 22, 2018, 08:27:42 PM
No, no you get me wrong. Merits but only to award others. If not used in one month they are gone.
Then the scammers with multiple alt accounts will receive multiple merits to spread amongst their multiple alt accounts, rank up their multiple alt accounts, and therefore defeat the purpose of the entire system.
This will be easy to check and find. As you know all abusers are sooner or later caught and I am talking only about 2 or 3 merits for small rank and 5 to 8 for higher. Only to give the possibility to award content you like and to help in faster distribution. This will take years to create and farm accounts with this amount of merits and will be easy to find.

You underestimate account farmers - there are some with 50+ accounts. With your proposal, you are now handing 300-800 or more merit a month (once they distribute it back and forth amongst their own accounts) to scammers. And you are then creating more work for DT members or mods (who already have more than enough to deal with) to find and weed out these scammers. All for the sake of "helping with faster distribution". Not worth it.
16216  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano Ripple wallet app is BLANK. Please help on: April 22, 2018, 08:21:08 PM
I've not had this issue myself, but with a quick Google search I found this reddit post that suggests it may be due to installing the x64 rather than the x86 version, or vice versa.
16217  Other / Meta / Re: Few merits every month for everybody, how much depends on rank. Not a good idea? on: April 22, 2018, 08:11:02 PM

16218  Economy / Reputation / Re: PHARMA PUSSY. on: April 22, 2018, 08:06:08 PM
Threads like this give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

Spamming with alt accounts is pretty much universally condemned and known to be a red-taggable offence. You would know this if you spent any time reading the forum, and not just spamming your shitposts.

You will find no sympathy here.
16219  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Android application for your coins on: April 22, 2018, 07:53:12 PM
I was going to ask if your code was open-source, because I can't find it on your site, which means you are likely trying to scam people. Then I visited your Google Play store link and saw that your app is a complete clone of Coinomi - literally all you have done is change the colours.

I would advise everyone to stay well away from this project.
16220  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: First Crypto Hardware Wallet for Smartphone ? on: April 22, 2018, 07:48:15 PM
Yes but imagine for your daily use. With a Ledger, will you be ok to have in your pocket a cable permanently? I am already moaning when I have in my pocket, the keys, the wallet, the ID card, cigarettes, phones, in 10 years men will need their handbag  Cheesy

There's a simple, money saving and life saving solution to this. Stop smoking. Cheesy

I for one would likely never use a hardware wallet on my phone, because I do not see the point of carrying a hardware wallet around with me, and certainly not bringing it out in public to advertise the fact I'm carrying it around with me. I have a small amount of coins stored in a software wallet on my phone for daily use/payments as required, but my hardware wallet stays in a secure location most of the time.
