16221  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Varispin Solar starting advertising of a new miner.... 48TH-3000W on: August 10, 2019, 05:13:10 PM
power supply can pull 3600 watts  the plug is an iec 320 c13 style it rates to about 12amps or 12 x 230 volts = 2760

the plug should have been a c19 it is therefore a possible fire hazard
16222  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling Antminer S17 53TH/s on: August 10, 2019, 03:08:57 PM
There’s 27.5% tax on miners entering the US

yep  but 2 at 798 including shipping is 2 dollars under the de minimus = 0 trump tax.

my order was for 798 including  shipping.

I am not anti  s17  but my power deal is 50 50 coin split.  So 4 s9's ordered 2 by me and 2 by buysolar works far better then  1 s17 for me and buysolar.

our hoster will not do well if I only buy s9's  and don't buy s17's or m20s.

but I have
1s15         28th
1t15         22th
1 s17        53th
1 t17        40th
2 m20s    136th
8 m10      240th
1 t2 t24      19th
1 t3 t40      31th
2 a1041      60th

all of the above  are good for my hoster

22 s9         230th

the s9 help me and buysolar  and are good for me

I know  a dozen guys with my power deal 50 50 coin split   between us we have about 12ph of gear

we try to get a blend of s9  and efficient gear.

right now no one is selling efficient gear at a worth while price

If you are a 3-5 cent power guy  the 310 s-9 from bitmain is the best buy

if you are a 50-50 coin guy the $310 s-9 from bitmain is the best buy

I have 40-50kwatts to fill by nov 1

I have  a possible 150-175 kwatt expansion in Nov.

If I was pushed to fill the 50kwatts  I have no choice but the s9 from bitmain.
My hoster and I have discussed how to fill the 40-50  spare kwatts  he would let me do all s9's since most of the hash is very efficient
16223  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer S17 on: August 10, 2019, 02:53:43 PM
Yes I have one that’s available to ship out Bitmain sold out of these.
I have 9 in November which are now sold out for a little cheaper.
Those 9 units will be 4500 per.
I’m doing this to make a profit to offset my costs of my other miners.

Yeah you did not mark it up a lot

3900 to 5000

and for a usa buyer zero trump import tax issues.

good luck with the sale.

you could use OgNasty for escrow or MinerJones

as I don't do escrows anymore.
16224  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer S17 on: August 10, 2019, 02:47:46 PM

https://ibb.co/fpWY1pb

9x will be here in November
1x is here and available

https://ibb.co/Wgt2MfF
https://ibb.co/vx5QvT3

looks like you paid 3950 for the one in stock

okay looks like you have 1 in stock

and you want 5000

you should use an escrow to sell it

and 5000 is actually a fair price to a USA buyer. the reason is  if you buy from this person  and are in the USA the gear is in the USA (PA)
you the new buyer did not import it so you would have zero worries if you buy from this person about the trump tax on imports.

16225  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Gear Pricing just becomes more irrational then ever on: August 10, 2019, 01:57:06 PM
Spacer

Okay  direct from innosilicon

https://www.innosilicon.com/html/t3+57t-miner/index.html

uses 80 kwatts a day  does about 55th

so  4 bucks a day  at 5 cent power

and 3.2 dollars a day at 4 cent power
and 2.4 dollars a day at 3 cent power

October delivery 2310      =    0.226130 btc shipping included
November delivery 2230   =   0.219091 btc  shipping included

this unit earns about 0.0013475 btc daily

0.226130/0.0013475 = 167 days for the october order if power is free
0.219091/0.0013475 = 159 days for November order if power is free

167 days at 5 cent power = 668 power cost
159 days at 5 cent power = 636 power cost

167 days at 4 cent power = 534 power cost
159 days at 4 cent power = 509 power cost

167 days at 3 cent power = 401 power cost
159 days at 3 cent power = 382 power cost

So  the t57 if it comes in october  will not pay back for 167 days unless you have free power and flat price in coin and difficulty stay flat.

If you have 5 cent power you will  be looking at 50 more days to break even so the october unit would be 217 to 235 days to break even

next the s9 from bitmain

the s9k does 13.5th  2 cost 798 with shipping to the usa.

so 800 at  11500 is 0.06956 btc for 2 shipped to usa under the trump tax

https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020190730112951352E0D2y0TF0621

27th x 0.0000245 = 0.0006615 btc a day

0.06956/0.0006615 =  105 days to pay off if power is free  gear arrives in sept

at 5 cent power  it cost 1.56 a day to run the unit  so at 105 days you are down 164 dollars
at 4 cent power it cost  1.25 a day to run the unit  so at 105 days you are down 131 dollars
at 3 cent power it cost   .94 a day to run the unit  so at  105 days you are down  99 dollars

there is of course the a1041 from avalon

https://blokforge.com/product/canaan-avalon-1041-31th-s-bitcoin-miner-shipping-august/

and there are the  4 models from pangolinminer the whatsminer m20 m20s m21 m21s

they are all now pushed to December delivery dates

https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m20-series/
https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m21s-with-psu/
https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m20-with-psu-shipout-during-august-20-september-15/
https://pangolinminer.com/product/whatsminer-m21-with-psu-shipout-during-august-1020/

right now  with all calculations  the old school s9k  has better break even numbers then any other gear.

you simply need 3-5 cent power  and you will break even in under 200 days

of course if you have  10cent power  and really want to mine  you will be looking at a more efficient piece of gear.

I write this because all the major companies combined are creating a funnel toward the s9k  as you best choice to buy if you have 3-5 cent power.

The math says  buy s9k's nothing matches their payoff times. (if you have 3 to 5 cent power)

I find this very interesting.
16226  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Gear Pricing just becomes more irrational then ever on: August 10, 2019, 01:56:54 PM
Going to list gear  pricing and break even with:

 5 cent power
 4 cent power
 3 cent power
16227  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Considering mining.... help with estimates on: August 10, 2019, 01:02:44 PM
So we have roughly $500 included with our rent for utilities and this is basically electricity. Electricity is at .23 euro for 1 kWh. Currently my panel can only handle 3k, but I was going to upgrade to 6000 watts. I’ve been eyeing the November batch of the m21s, probably 2 or 3. I wanted to use all the electricity available without paying extra out of pocket.
Are my calculations correct? Should I consider other miners . I can also move to a cheaper place, and then utilize more electricity since my company covers up to a price. Including rent and utilities. During the panel upgrade should I inspect or look to upgrade anything else? I’d be anticipating about 10amps per miner with this proposed setup.

do not mine at .23 euro a kwh you will be a loser.

I can't stress it enough.

0.04 euro  has always made money

0.08 euro has sometimes been good sometime bad.

0.12 euro has often been bad.

0.23 euro has almost always lost money.

also the 21s  at full speed 56th is crazy loud and pulls 14-15amps

you need to set to low speed it will only do 29th and pull 7 amps  29th is 0.0007105 btc a day or 8 usd or 7.136 euro a day

your power bill for that will be 9.93 euro a day  so you will lose 2-3 euro a day

Great information. I had ordered 3900 on BhPhotoVideo and waiting for them to send for approximately 2 weeks. My plan was to put a radeonVII in this motherboard and do both Monero and Eth in the same rig. I am not sure how much RAM I should put in. Also, do I need to put such a larger SSD?

no  that ssd nmve is the highest quality ssd and in theroy the fastest one in the world.  it is 449 + tax  it is 2tb and is supposed to be 2x faster then any other ssd.

you can get a 1tb nmve style like this one

https://www.newegg.com/crucial-p1-1tb/p/N82E16820156199?  100 bucks  it will work fine
16230  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is Quietest New Generation miner? on: August 10, 2019, 03:33:18 AM
M20s has full speed only psu has one larger fan.
M21s has two speeds psu has one larger fan

S17  I have a pro has three speeds psu has two tiny fans
T17 has one speed psu has two tiny fans

A1041 has two speeds psu has one larger fan

The bitmain smaller fans are more of a Mo ski toe the  bug whine. They are annoying but not unbearable.

The m20 m21s a1041 all have the large psu with one large fan.

At full speed pushing those fans none of them are pleasant.  All are nasty.

On low speed the m21s was a tad lower then the a1041

It was hard to hear the a1041 when sleeping in a bedroom above the unit.
Both my wife and I did not hear the m21s  on low speed.

But if i was to go for quiet it would be the a1041 since it does drop from 37 to 31 th and the m21s drops

From 56th to 29th. So the a1041 is better for sound.

The dbs are less important as the sound from a full speed m20s or a m21s  psu fan is the worse sound I have heard from any miner.
16231  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 on 2x 110v question on: August 10, 2019, 03:01:58 AM
Yes very similar, but one specific socket says 12v and one socket says ground, just wanted to know if it’s important....

And thank you everyone for helping me >.<

you need to make an account with imgur.com and photo your breakout board  then post the link to the photos here.
16232  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 on 2x 110v question on: August 10, 2019, 12:27:18 AM
Yeah I got that, my question was about the small sockets on the board of the miner, one says ground and the other says 12v on each bay, whether those need to be plugged specifically to sockets on breakout board

this is pretty senseless question

there are

x

ten identicial   6 pin sockets on the s9

all are six pin    so what else do you mean
16233  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling Antminer S17 53TH/s on: August 10, 2019, 12:20:24 AM
4700 + to a newbie is a tough sell

will you accept escrow?

do you have any friend in hongkong ? i can arrange the visit and the guy can test all miners and then ship it to you !

Let me know !

2 s9's at bitmain cost 798  will do 27th

if I order 2 and my friend orders 2   that is the exact amount of hash you are selling.

we spend 1600 no trump tax and no fear of delivery.  gear comes on sept 10-15

if I convince you to sell yours for 4700 with safe escrow  gear comes aug 15

you mine 53 x 30 x 0.0000245 for 30 days = 0.0390 BTC x 11700 = 457 usd - 80 for power you are  + 377 for the 30 days you have the s17 from you

but 4700 - 1600 = 3100 more for your gear.

so take 3100- 377 = 2723 more for your gear.

now it is sept 15 I have you gear and my 4 s9's running head to head.

your gear 53th for 2.22 kwatts my gear  54 th for 5.22 kwatts   that is 3 x 24 = 72 kwatts  at 5 cents it is 3.60 a day at 10 cent power it is 7.20 a day

2723/3.60 = 756 days before the s17 is better then  4 s9's new from bitmain this is a 5 cent power guy.

2723/7.20 = 378 days before the s17 is better then 4 s9's new from bitmain this is a 10 cent power guy.

or my case i split coins with my power guy

so have 27 th for free  with the s-9's
or I have 26.5 th for free with your s17

that means I never recoup the extra 2723 I pay to you  but my power guy  gets less power cost for his ½ the coins.

your price is a tough sell for me.

I have a mix of gear

s9
s15
s17
t15
t17

m10
m20
m20s

inno t2-t24
inno t3-t40
inno t3-t50

and l3+

I could just buy s9's
and l3+   I make out but it is not fair to my power guy

I could buy all your gear my power guy would make out but I get killed.

I am trying to explain to you that

a big price
a newbie
no escrow  make your gear a tough sell on the forum to anyone that could pay you for them  most of us that have 20000 usd don't want to buy that gear for 4700 each.

How hard is it to shut the options down for a month.  Maybe it is too hard to do that (I doubt that)

Now even if done it does not stop a spam post with a link  I have reported many of them.

We may find  that spam posts with links go up 10 fold for the signature ban month.
Thus we say okay lets  go back to signatures as it is the lessor of 2 evils.
As it is quite possible that paid signatures reduce the spam posts with an outside link.
Your theory makes some sense if we're talking about throwaway accounts. However, since a lot of members want to keep their "rank privileges" I'm not so sure that they'll resort to link spam, especially if it results in a ban.

Spam is one thing but link spam is another. The latter should be more bannable and that would disincentivize users from going too crazily on the off-period. Especially if they have a chance of returning to signature campaigns.

I still say it's worth a shot, that we should try the experiment. Even a week or two would be fine. After all, with no incentive to post, we won't get horrible replies to useless threads. Smiley

How about jan 1 to Jan 15th?

No avatar
no shit under the avatar
no signature.

do some stats and see how much traffic is lost.  see how many do shit spam links.

we could have a 2 week vacation for jan 1 to jan 15 and one for  july 1 to july 15.

Then there is the new pool protocol they are going to launch, where the miners get to control the transactions being included not the pool operators. No empty blocks there if everything goes smooth.
which would make it technically an altcoin operation just as Lightning network is.
My other issue with them is Dr. Back being CEO: Kudos to him being cited in the original BTC whitepaper but IMHO his actions since then have NOT been in the better interests of Bitcoin. His part in backing Halong with the Dragonmints along with his holding back on deliveries just to keep them hashing for himself (on ckpool, over 300PH for several months) until threatened with lawsuits comes to mind for a start...

that is interesting.  so to have that much in t1's he had a deal with innosilicon as they built the t1's

so much behind the curtain.  I wonder if they are now working with bitmain ,MicroBT ,avalon or innosilicon to load up with gear.

one thing is for sure they are not pointing gear to ckpool at the moment.

Steep yes with lots of numbers below that people can offer, or not, again not to pressed to sell the machine.
I have done some checking and for anyone who is worried about the orange wave of tarrifs, I can secure you a spot with a reputable hosting facility in Canada.
This means you pay only the price we agree upon and then the hosting fees. I'll update better details later when I'm off mobile

Forgot to update this so with another nice price run-up I'll give it a bump. Hosting in Canada is offered by Cryptoboreas, and if you go that route I have secured a spot. Long time member allinvain runs this operation and has also offered to provide escrow service to the buyer if it's going there, should it be needed.

Will accept BTC, LTC maybe others you can reach out, as always feel free to make an offer.

I would buy this but you are so steep.  I know what you paid (same as me) send me a pm with  the low number you would take.
