There will always be a scammer no matter where you go.  We really can't stop them but what we can do is avoid them.

Agreed but does anyone have AikFranks URL to his ICO or the name of his project/coin? Which other username does he use? Would be interesting to see the scam

16243  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 03, 2017, 11:39:50 AM
i just love this, man
50 btc at more or less 7000us$ per bitcoin, is 350000us$ for a forum badge...A FORUM BADGE

never fails to make me smirk, it's amazing, honestly. it's even more cool that many of the donators/vip weren't rich at the very beggining, they just came to the party early, and if i were those guys, man, i probably would've donated too, this community is worth some appreciation...well, maybe not 350000us$ worth of appreciation but definetely something in that range lol

I read the earlier posts and disagree with any notion that 10BTC and 50BTC donations can be justified. Where exactly are all these donations going?

I mean how much of the BTC donated to the forum is needed for hosting? Unless the moderators take some of the donations for salary and/or expenses it means there should be no other expenses. 1x BTC at todays rate of $7000+ would easily cover more than 1 years hosting.

Have any of the moderators actually filed any tax returns for any money received? Where are the donations going and what are those in receipt of them actually doing with them?

Does anyone know the amount paid and terms of the sale?
16245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver: Did he get rid of ALL his Bitcoin for Bitcoin Cash? on: October 25, 2017, 03:56:35 PM
If he really believed in his push for the fork surely he should have sold all his Bitcoin and held just Bitcoin Cash.

Oh well I guess what was remaining of his reputation as been destroyed too

I understand why he doesn't sell though. Even for instance lets say, that I'm a developer and a hardcore believer of bitcoin cash(NOTE: JUST AN EXAMPLE). I honestly wouldn't sell my bitcoin(BTC) because of the fact that I know that even though I don't believe in it, I still know that theoretically the price should go up in the future, which makes it a good idea to hold them, in a investment point of view.

He pushed for the fork because he believed in Bitcoin Cash but it seems he kept hold of his Bitcoins after the fork because, wait for it, Bitcoin will not be beaten by Bitcoin Cash.

Not impressed with Roger

Anybody know?
16248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Roger Ver: Did he get rid of ALL his Bitcoin for Bitcoin Cash? on: October 20, 2017, 11:38:20 AM
So after the fork came in what did Roger Ver do? Did he believe in his vision so much so that he decided to give up on all of his Bitcoin after the fork?

If he believed in his vision so much surely he would have exchanged his Bitcoin for Bitcoin Cash. Anyone know?

No, scammers are everywhere. There are also legit projects here and you just nee to know who's real and who's not. I don't know if you've been to other sites like Facebook because scammers here is just a small number compared to that site.

So if we are talking about proportions and ratios, it seems you are saying the number of fraudsters per 100 is more here than Facebook based on the total number of users. This site has a fraction of users compared to Facebook but according to you it seems there are more scammers here pro-rata.
16254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: October 02, 2017, 08:17:09 PM
well, I invested in an ICO a few months ago and created many expectations, I could guarantee that it would be a success, it was my time and money wasted Cry

investing in these ICOs has become very dangerous, as someone already said the scammers found here a "gold mine" and the scammers are exploiting 100% of that "gold mine"

few people do research before investing in these icos, and from what I see, the Russians and asians, particularly from India, are the big scammers

Sorry to hear about your loss.
16255  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: October 02, 2017, 08:53:51 AM
The thing about scamming is that it has become more of a profession for most here. A full time 9 to 5 job, 24/7/365 even for some.

It's what differentiates us humans from the rest of what's alive on this planet. A calculating, manipulative and envious species. We calculate to own what others own. Manipulate people in sophisticated ways to separate them from their rightful properties. And we have an envious and jealous predisposition. Unhappy to see the Jones's ahead of us by the most recent iPhone model, by a $10k higher bank balance, by better and faster cars, by fatter bitcoin wallets..

Actual hard work is bad news for some people. Nowadays easy money is everyone's secret mantra. Even the most humble and righteous and corrupt-proof man, if such a specimen exists, on this planet will break and cave when confronted by financial storms and desperation. Money makes this planet rotate on it's axis. It is undeniably the source of all most evil things happening to mankind but this is the reality of life. Everyone needs money.

There will be scammers here for as long as bitcoin holds value. When the price of bitcoin drops to a cent per coin, watch how deafeningly silent the scam accusations page of this forum will be.

Yes it definitely has become a full time business for some. When I read articles on various websites about the number of scam ICOs it is unbelievable. I just feel sorry for invetors that got duped.
16256  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Relaunched! NFL betting. BTC, ETH, LTC DICE on: October 02, 2017, 07:30:04 AM
Dean hasn't been online since September 22. Left him a pm on betking pm'ing system but haven't got an answer yet.

All project team members including project managers should visit their threads at least once a week as anything less may reduce customer and investor confidence.
16257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: October 01, 2017, 08:47:52 PM
 Shocked

Scams galore unfortunately. 19,000 ETH by CrazyBet is just unbelievable. The scammers are laughing because they successfully ripped people off but investors that are out of pocket did not deserve it.

Everyone needs to remain vigilant before parting with their money or altcoins - simple.
16259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: September 23, 2017, 04:14:03 PM

Wow I am surprised that the service has such a bad reputation. I never used it but thought it was a fairly good service to have as far as concepts go. Their rates are high compared to others, this is because they pay you 100% of the funds you are seeking but in order to do that they overcharge the other customer to cover the transaction fee as well as make a profit.
16260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Bitmora - Revolutionary Cryptocurrency Exchange on: September 23, 2017, 04:09:14 PM
The website is down: bitmora.com diverts to https://bitmora.com/cgi-sys/suspendedpage.cgi

This project has been arounda long time but not much has happened on the developemnt front that can be checked by possible investors. It should have been started by now with a fairly decent launch.

Has the project team ditched this? It has been 11 days since the previous update which was just notice that development was behind.
