16321  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ? on: January 18, 2016, 07:29:34 PM

In short there is no way known , if anyone knew how to do that , we all would be either rich or doing it and making it worthless.

In long run , best option is to start a business that can generate income or invest in an already existing one to get share of their income.

The risky and definetly not suggest way , gamble.
Yes but you know gambling is a stupid way of doing it.

I don't think there is a good way--if I did, I'd be doing it.  It seems like every business opportunity on bitcointalk is a scam.  Cloud mining is a scam, mining doesn't make money except for the big boys, etc etc.  You're asking the wrong people here, I think, including me.
16322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Paul Vernon take a lie detector test? on: January 18, 2016, 06:55:13 PM
No, there's a reason why lie detector tests aren't allowed in courts and that's because it's pseudoscience.  I think there's probably going to be enough evidence against Cryptsy that such an idea is going to be superfluous anyway.  The fact that they got "hacked" and did nothing about it for something like a year and a half isn't cool even if it were true.
16323  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Domain Seized: Is this common? on: January 18, 2016, 06:52:47 PM
I thought this was a legit seizure as well, but Michell or another senior member in another thread pointed out the differences, and it looks like it's just a smokescreen.  In other words, a scam.  So fuck 'em.
16324  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Do not trade with Ethan Marston on: January 18, 2016, 12:38:58 AM
I don't see any evidence of a scam here.  What am I missing?  He ceased corresponding with you, but that could be for a number of reasons.  If he's a scammer he sure as hell didn't try very hard.

The fact he refused escrow.

Those are just the emails we sent. A fair amount of the supposed deal was done in PD chat.. Something along the lines of "I don't want to mess around with escrow" was told to me there.. I'm sorry, But on a $450 trade you're going to fucking use escrow or you're a scammer. (unless trading with friends)
So I'll take your warning with a big grain of salt, seeing as how you and he are the only ones privy to your chat log.  You might well be right, but I think more evidence is needed if you're going to make a thread and call him a scammer.
16325  Other / Meta / Re: If site turns out scam,is the signature campaign manager to blame? on: January 18, 2016, 12:17:50 AM
Yahoo was definitely not to blame in this case.  He ran the sig campaign and by all accounts did a fine job and I'm sure he didn't know they were going to turn out to be scammers.

Edited to add:  Just saw the new feedback for Yahoo62278.  Those users are fucking idiots anyway, looking to heap blame on someone for their own idiocy.

16327  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P's scammed funds summary. Post your case here if you were scammed. on: January 17, 2016, 11:53:00 PM
He hasnt been online for a cpl days now and i dont see anyone posting theyve gotten money for 3 days now. Might be time for us to release his info
id say wait until the end of today and release it publicly, the promised payment is already overdue a couple days and hes gone silent. chances are, hes been working on moving away or 'slipping into the shadows' as tecshare put it. the more time you give him, the harder it will be to track him down if hes been working on it.
imo im against waiting any longer in this situation, but its only fair to give him ~12ish more hours.
I think waiting any longer is a mistake but I'm not a creditor here.  I think doxxing him would light a pretty hot fire under his ass, and that's sorely needed at this point.
16328  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER from10to1280 on: January 17, 2016, 11:49:26 PM
He's logged in as I write this so maybe he'll stop by to respond.   You're lucky it was only $5.
16329  Other / Archival / Re: Vod the trust abuser -remove him - on: January 17, 2016, 11:25:56 PM
REMOVE HIM
It doesn't matter if you write in 20 point font, they won't remove him.  Next time do it with 24, they might listen.
16330  Economy / Exchanges / Re: cryptsy hacked - bigvern on cryptsy blog on: January 17, 2016, 11:22:05 PM
How can one type of coin wallet gain control over another unrelated wallet? Surely you would have cross site security of some sort?

The Lucky7Coin wallet story is kind of a red herring, the real hack was the Bitcoin and Litecoin wallets doing unauthorized transactions. Rouge code that allows the execution of arbitrary commands is nothing new, and should be planned for.

Why would Crypsty keep millions of dollars worth of coins online in hot wallets? Surely any exchange operator knows that's a no no.

Why would they know or care that it was a "no no." It's not their money that's going to disappear.
Oh I don't know, maybe because they're a fucking exchange whose bread and butter is in those wallets?  I can't tell if yours is a serious question or just sarcasm.  Perhaps you should use the [/s] or something similar.

This is either outright scam or severe mismanagement or gross incompetence.  Time will tell.
16331  Economy / Exchanges / Re: WHY I DON'T TRUST CRYPTSY WITH MY MONEY on: January 17, 2016, 11:16:45 PM
Yes, TECHSHARE you sounded the warning buzzer back in 2013 but I don't think they'd gotten themselves into the trouble that led them to the present mess yet.  But who knows what the truth is.  I opened an account with them earlier last year and everything seemed to go OK, but I wasn't making huge trades.  Just some DOGE-->BTC.  Thank blob I did not deposit a significant amount of anything there.  They're fuckers over there.

You don't believe Vern's excuse do you? IMO they were engaged in various ponzis and other scams as well as being completely negligent running the exchange. <snip>
No, of course not.  We've heard the "we got hacked" story before with Mt. Gox and even if they did get hacked, they apparently didn't do anything about it until just recently.  That's gross mismanagement.  I said they were fuckers over there, did I not?

I don't know anything about them running or participating in ponzis but it would not surprise me.  I thought they might have gotten caught taking one side of a number of trades and lost when the price dropped (or something like that).  I don't see how an exchange can lose money any other way unless something shady is going on.  And I definitely believe something shady was going on.

You obviously want to tell everyone "I told ya so", and I get it.  You did.  I'm not arguing with you here.  They were shady all along it appears.
16332  Economy / Speculation / Re: price going back up? on: January 17, 2016, 11:09:19 PM
Ahem.  I recall that we were stuck at around $225 for what seemed like months not too long ago, so where we're at right now isn't so bad and I think the price will likely go higher.  The recent drop seems to be because of Mike Hearn's comments, but who really knows?
16333  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How Cryptsy can save itself on: January 17, 2016, 11:05:48 PM
It's too late. "Cryptsy.com" is down, the offices are vacant, the CEO is missing, and the assets are involved in a divorce case.

This sums it all up.
I know having something to believe is better then to accept your money is gone. But right now it's fair to say our money is gone...
I have been following the other thread that Spoetnik and Gleb Gamow have been bombing and it's a bit hard to actually glean information from it.  Where are the offices?  Who is the CEO?

Cryptsy.com is not down, btw.
16334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global crisis... on: January 17, 2016, 11:00:47 PM
Nah, not that bad.  I think a lot of what's going on in the market is related to the recent interest rate hike--at least in the US.  If money gets more expensive to borrow, stock prices generally go down.  I don't think what we're seeing is anywhere near as bad as the great depression.  Not even 2009 was that bad.

You think this is all down to a 0.25% raise in interest rates.

3.17 trillion dollars wiped off global stocks so far this year.

The fed has stated they will consider negative interest rates.

Not that bad lol.
Yeah, I don't know.  I was just voicing an opinion and I know there are many variables in play.  The 3.17T you mentioned has been wiped off of all stocks?  I'm not questioning the truth of that figure, I just don't know where you got it from or how it compares to 2009.  When all stocks lose value I'd expect the number to be that high as there are so many of them in existence.
16335  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: January 17, 2016, 10:53:58 PM
<snip>

If he really was in financial problems why don't just ask for a loan?<snip>
Well if the problems were great enough he wouldn't have means to pay back, right?  So scamming becomes a viable option in that case.  But it looks for all intents and purposes that Master-P took out an interest-free loan from unwilling lenders.  I still can't figure out a good narrative for what happened here.  He's obviously paying the bitcoin back, albeit slowly, so he has it and has not spent it.  Maybe because he got scared?  I just shake my head at this.
16336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins - which do you like? on: January 17, 2016, 10:50:52 PM
Dogecoin, Namecoin, and Litecoin are my favorites.  Dogecoin has a great community and grassroots effort and Litecoin is Bitcoin's silver.  Namecoin has some interesting potential.
Yeah, I think that's another reason why I like DOGE.  Their community is a friendly one and most of them seem genuinely nice and appear to be trying to get their coin used for real transactions.  I don't know if they're ever going to see mainstream acceptance but who knows.  It's a good coin and it's held its value thus far.

16338  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Investing in Ponzi's on: January 17, 2016, 10:44:25 PM
Hey!

Is investing in NEW ponzis a OK thing to do? Obviously talking about the doubling sites that have just gone up. They should pay back the early investors back, right?

Obviously gambling, but is this a ok thing to do? what are the risks?

Thanks,
Go ahead and try it, dude.  You'll quickly find out what the real risks are, the main one being the risk of losing all your money very quickly.  For real, try it and get back to us.
16339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins - which do you like? on: January 17, 2016, 10:11:43 PM
<snip>In fact, I lost around 10 coins on an old mobile that I threw away.<snip>
Gaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!

I'd have a hard time getting over this I think.  As far as altcoins go, I like DOGE and I have no rationale for it other than I like not having to use fractions and also the quick confirmation time.  I don't do any mining as I'm not into crypto that seriously.  But it's pretty much just bitcoin for me.
16340  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: January 17, 2016, 10:07:36 PM
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

I finally have just over one whole bitcoin.  Bought enough to bring me over 1 from Circle, which I'd never used before.  I do have to say it's pretty cool.  In the grand scheme of things it isn't a lot of money but it is a milestone of sorts in my bitcoin experience.
