16361  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15] Italian Luxury Pen Makers Ancora Announces Pre-sale of Bitcoin Pen on: April 13, 2018, 07:39:16 PM
Think I just saw Chronoswiss also releasing a "crypto watch" series... same "token sale" model as Arcona, it would seem. I never actually really knew that this luxury item industry existed until I arrived in Brunei in 2013. Tax-free income there, lots of disposable income, and almost everyone collecting shoes, handbags, motorbikes, watches.

Granted, they all seem to appreciate in value due to collectibility, but then no one actually buys it until the original owner is dead Wink

Maybe a hundred years from now, we'll find one of these Bitcoin Pens or Bitcoin Watches in some rich aristrocrat museum somewhere. Well. Not us. Our... descendants.
16362  Economy / Speculation / Re: 🌍My Topic,Analysis,in which direction the movement is going BTC Up or Down🔑 on: April 13, 2018, 06:45:13 PM
Learn to recognise success sometimes as luck, but kudos to your calls so far. Care to share the mistakes you surely also made?

P.S. Nice screenshots on CNBC's Fast Track. Probably not the entire story, but it goes to show that expert opinion is exactly just that: the opinion of an expert. All the McAfees and Drapers and Keisers of the world are only half the story. Good luck and happy to see more people jumping back onto the bull's back.
16363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tim Draper - Bitcoin Price Will Hit 250 000$ In 2022! on: April 13, 2018, 01:38:35 PM
not to undermine Tim but it is always a safe speculation to say bitcoin is going to rise ridiculously big in long term (3 years for example) and many others, even simple members have been doing that! Cheesy

what i think is that we will see a huge rise in 2020 because there are a couple of things that are happening by then. biggest one is the halving. and also the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo Japan which is turning into the heart of bitcoin merchant adoption of the world. the sheer publicity is going to increase the adoption 100 folds.

Right on. I'm sure if anyone dug up enough predictions from him, they'd notice they were not always on the mark. I think even a year's valuation would be enough to be in the "right region". The way Bitcoin moves, you only need to be right for a few minutes before corrections happen (might be more interesting if he'd make a prediction on a closer average rather than just a spot price.

Again, all due respect, at least he had his money where his mouth was/is.

On 2020: the last halving didn't seem to have much bearing, but I suppose by the next one, mainstream will see it as a huge scarcity factor. Olympics though? Who knows.
16364  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-11-17]Bitcoin’s Fastest Growing Community Issues Innovative BitConnect... on: April 13, 2018, 11:38:03 AM
The only accurate word in the entire post is popular. But we all know ponzis need to be popular to be successful. I know sites are just doing PR so not going to shoot newsbtc as it's just the messenger, but this kind of outfit have scammed so many and are ready to scam even more now (what on earth, another ICO?). Shameful to call themselves a Bitcoin community.

Attention! The First decentralized cryptopyramid Ponzi Trust announced the start of an exchange of Ponzi tokens to bitconnect coins  with an exchange rate 20% higher than at coinmarketcap.com. You should be hurry! The amount of tokens is strictly limited. Current proposal is valid until 25.04.2018. For detailed information, please send a request to Ponzitrust0398457@gmail.com or send a message to our telegram chat - https://t.me/ponzitrust_en

There is one inaccuracy there though... it's not decentralised Wink

Bitconnect. The original BCC. Got to hand it to them though.
16365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA WORLD CUP 2018? on: April 13, 2018, 09:30:40 AM
Far too early for discussions! We're still in the thick of the tail-end of national leagues, not to mention both European cups - expect lots of drama from there. Coaches will be fired and appointed ahead of June, players will be named and some dropped, injuries etc. So yeah, too early to make bets now unless you're like me and like tipping an underdog like Iceland to go far (skybet has 150/1 on them just reaching the final!).

I'm also going to attempt a mini betting pool or two for WC. Bitcoin's about to wake up again so pot might just end up huge at the end of the final. Just keep your eyes peeled, my lovelies!
16366  Economy / Economics / Re: market refresh or just a pump ? on: April 13, 2018, 08:46:24 AM
The bitcoin price after the increase stabilize at 7800$ this only show that the pump is legitimate and not forced. In this my conclusion is the market is slightly recovering and the investors come back its confidence to it. I do even think it’s late overdue as I expected it to happen first week of this month.

Better late than never, the bullish run will soon be the next movement.

Nah, I don't buy that. Of course I'm happy for prices to go back up, and pretty significantly in my opinion. Right now, it's back up over $8k but that to me doesn't say anything about "legitimacy". If it were a pump yesterday, desperate buying or whatever, then surely those deep pockets weren't emptied out and will attempt to sustain this over the weekend.

I would say though that the news for once is swinging back towards good vibes. Maybe all the past regrets of not selling will turn into regrets of not buying more into the dip.
16367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 12, 2018, 10:16:02 PM
Wow. Made a mistake not to watch any of the games in Europa. Possibly a mistake not to back Marseille again (I bet on them on the first leg, the only losing match that failed my parlay). So Arsenal prevented a comeback, my favourite Athleti couldn't score but are through, would have made a lot of money betting on the underdogs this round.

Perfect Europa final: Arsenal Athleti.
Perfect CL final: Liverpool Real.

Worth an all English parlay?
16368  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-04-12] China: Blockchain Conference Shut Down By Police, Organizers... on: April 12, 2018, 07:03:31 PM
China, as usual, shuts down and bans everything, there are only gov projects left that focused on blockade and new technologies. That's very good that all prohibitions have occurred slowly and haven't exerted strong pressure on the market. If there were a dramatic ban at the time when 90% of all cryptocurrency trades were passing through China, the price would probably fall to $500.

I'd wait for more information before jumping to that conclusion. Police don't swoop down if there isn't a public report lodged. With all due respect to these conferences, I'd say that organisers have a bad reputation for managing participants. It's all fee-based anyway, so there's no incentive to screen participants. I mean, how many ponzis masked as cryptos have already made big stage appearances? Remember OneCoin and their Forbes cover?

News says suspicion of fraudulent ICO in the midst. Won't be surprised if these wolves are prowling these conferences for networking opportunities. There's already a pattern of corporate scams ala Madoff in Southeast Asia now.
16369  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about new Bittrex platform? on: April 12, 2018, 05:02:21 PM
Hmm. I rarely seem to like updates to sites, unless they've been really sporting dated looks, which Bittrex wasn't, in my opinion. Everything looks sort of pastelly now. The things that matter to me have yet to be improved. Speed is pretty much as slow as it ever used to be. Clicking Wallets and Orders always took 30 seconds or so to fully load, so that hasn't changed.

Small bug in my portfolio too, Gridcoin doesn't show up in my wallets list, only in the markets page.

Same same so far, I guess.
16370  Economy / Economics / Re: market refresh or just a pump ? on: April 12, 2018, 01:44:14 PM
Damn I missed that! Just sold a bit of coin yesterday below 7k, wasn't that urgent but never saw the pump coming. 1k in one hour, though, so artificial at best. Can't have been the news from Wall St giants, that's several days old by now.

Can't do much as am not really online now. Probably all settled by the time I get home. Or are we in for a sustained round of whale pumping?
16371  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How miners get rewards on: April 12, 2018, 12:22:05 PM
Thanks for sharing the link of book.

If I am correct then it means a single miner /mining pool get all the reward of finding the block and the transactions contained in it. Transactions are confirmed in block not as individual.
So it is highly possible  that someone producing low hash will not be able to  find any block and get any transaction fees

Just to add, yes virtually impossible for individuals now to find blocks. I'm pretty certain there is no longer any individual miner (or individual who owns a lot of rigs) trying on his own. I believe everyone is part of some pool now. In this case, then even your "low" hash can still earn you a proportional share of the rewards if the pool you joined finds a block. A somewhat comparable example is with so-called cloud mining services...

Halving likely to happen again on July 2016.
Then miners will earn BTC 12.50
"Likely?" Here, have the award for laziest copy paste Sad

Wow, you actually caused a copy paster guy to edit and correct his post. I feel like you just achieved something amazing here...
16372  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which casino / poker affiliates have been the best to you? on: April 12, 2018, 08:57:09 AM
I was actually extremely active in the late 1990s and early 2000s as an affiliate marketer and made decent earnings at the time, mainly because my traffic and audience then was a very new market in SEA.

There weren't that many gambling affiliates then, William Hill was the one that did all right. But towards mid 2000s gambling commissions tapered off and moved towards the lifetime commissions we're more used to seeing now with crypto casinos.

I dabbled in 2006, around the time I started using Bitcoin seriously... A lot of sign ups but practically zero returns on the sites I promoted. I would say crypto-games has a goof affiliate program. Commissions earned also contribute to the tiered levels, giving you permanent daily rewards.
16373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 11, 2018, 08:46:38 PM
Thanks Lio...  Buwaytress, don't see your pm, please resend.  Thanks.

Edit:  I see it now.  I think I'd have to switch to a faster connection...  My internet's f*cked up.  On to the neighbor's place.  Grin

It gave me a good watch throughout... but...

I shut off my connection after Ronaldo scored that penalty. Can't bear to watch now. Damned English ref sent off Buffon. Yes, it was a penalty, but surely you have to account for the emotion, to send off the captain when the spot kick is probably the last proper moment of the game? That was just a lack of class.

So it's Real to the semis... Juventus took it far and to lose like this. Takes away all the shine. Sorry to see a legend bow out like this. He won't even get his deserved send off from the Bernabeu if he's sent off right?
16374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 11, 2018, 08:13:54 PM
Are we for real? The Old Lady just scored and it's all level right now 3-3 on aggregate. Old boy Matuidi too, I remember him as a youth player on my Winning Eleven back in the day haha, even at that age he had been one of my favourite underdog Frenchies.

This competition is just the balls, guys. I'm just kicking myself for not taking a risky bet on yet another 3 goal recovery!

^  Second half, Real...  Eerrr I mean Ronaldo scores three goals.  Grin

Anyway, you guys know any streams online?  My Kodi f*cked up on me, and vipbox.me is sooo slow...

Streams are always f'd up for me, but I sent you a PM too, good luck!
16375  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Educate us on the ins and outs how sig campaigns work and their effectiveness on: April 11, 2018, 07:11:28 PM
Weighing in. I think from impressions alone, the signature campaigns here carry a lot of weight, particularly when they're done long term as every post still carries the signature. Marketing people will say the focus is on conversion rates but I think there's also some consideration for "repetition and confirmation" as pointed out by hugeblack. There's very powerful psychology behind that.

Reputation by association is also very powerful (or association by reputation maybe?) - bitcointalk is still, by far, the source for Bitcoin discussion and hosts the biggest micro economy for Bitcoin. If your brand's running a campaign, first choice has to be this forum.

With social media avenues also running out (note, though, that this forum also no longer carries ads for ICOs), the value of bct can only increase.
16376  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Legendary 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment: STARTED on: April 11, 2018, 05:50:18 PM
Belated thanks for the April update, Loyce. The silver lining here is that, apart from the dollar appreciation that is, is that even this quarter's battering still leaves us in reasonable profit. Somewhat goes to show that diversification doesn't much affect portfolio since the market seems anchored to Bitcoin's fortunes.

I'd definitely join a second round, just enjoying the experiment. Pleased to see Peercoin is one of the handful to still be in the black. Thankless task to host this, though, and I'd rather you do what's easiest for yourself and leave the participants to either trust you or not.

Edit: my eyes fool me. PPC has lost ground.
16377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 11, 2018, 04:47:06 PM
I don’t give a damn if it was offside or not, we’re into the semi finals. City had 3 or 4 shots on target in both games combined Wink

Who wants to face the mighty LFC now? I’m not afraid of anybody, sure you need a lot of luck to win the CL but I think we have a good a chance as anybody. I will have two tickets for the Anfield leg of the semi. I’ve booked a hotel in Kiev for the final today (it has free cancellation so if we go out I can cancel it).

I have to be there if we make it, I just have to. It could be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Mo Salah is a machine.

Fun fact is Suarez, Sterling & Coutinho all went out on the same night Cheesy
All 3 left Liverpool hoping for bigger things (Suarez has done well I admit that)

Salah is a machine, Mane is a beast, Firminho is a monster. No one in Europe will be pleased to face any of these, least of all in their entire triumvirate! Well done on booking Kiev. I wish the clock were turned back a few years and I have the resources (time mostly) to go. I was able to for a period of 4 years - all of which we weren't even in CL, so I feel like I've really missed an opportunity.

I forgot about Sterling to be honest. Suarez I could never begrudge, I love that guy with a twinge of sadness. Sterling though, he left and we got better so I'm happy for the choices people made. Even Coutinho I somehow never got attached to in his time. No bad blood, and I'm sure he and Suarez will be jumping up and down watching us in the semis!
16378  Economy / Goods / Re: Doohtz.com - Crypto Apparel Store on: April 11, 2018, 03:35:01 PM
$35.00 for T-shit...it has printed inside an wallet with eth what worth $30.00?

LOL Material: 50% polyester, 25% cotton, and 25% Rayon

Dude, don't crap on people's goods. If you want a $10 T shirt with thousands in print, you can find plenty of that. It's a small enough group of Bitcoin enthusiasts also in the creative crafts industry, and you're not forced to support them. If they feel their art is worth that much, then let them set the price.

OP, you might get better exposure in the correct forum section, suggest you move thread here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

You should check out prices of other sellers too. Might make you more competitive.
16379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 11, 2018, 09:36:53 AM
Ho Lee Shit guys  Grin Barcelona are out! Damn the odds on Roma -2.5 were astronomical haha. If someone picked that big congrats to you  Shocked It's funny that Barcelona got the completely opposite treatment from last season's CL. Just goes to show that karma is a bitch sometimes lol. And another fun fact is that Coutinho moved over to Barceona and now they are out while Liverpool go on to the next round. Hilarious  Grin

I was just discussing last night before the game, that a nice dream would be for Pool to progress and reunite temporarily with Barca either in the semis or who knows, all the way to the game in Kiev. But it was definitely not to be. I was too consumed by the game even when leading 2-1, I was half expecting 2 or 3 goals to still creep into the net but I've never seen Lovren so solid (please don't get jinxed, dude).

It was only after the game ended and commentary switched to Rome that I realised Messi and co were dumped out!

I honestly can't remember when quarterfinals were this exciting (though of course having pool in it ups the excitement for me). Who would have though Italy could still be represented in the SF when both Juve and Roma had 3 goal deficits? So now Italy and England await tonight to see who makes it. Two major upsets... Roma was over 20 to progress. I made a sweet 6.4 on Liverpool to win, but imagine a parlay with Roma!

It's funny how everyone pretends to follow the CL closely but I haven't seen any arguments about Leroy Sane's goal that was flagged as 'off side' by the lines man...

Anyway, congrats to Liverpool.  It's at least nice to see one EPL club in the semis.

It was a major talking point by all the commentators, but they roundly agreed - as did Pep himself, that they deserved to get knocked out by the way they played both 2nd halves. I'm a pool fan, and that was a goal for sure. I won't even comment about the first goal when Sterling fouled DVD leading up to the goal. van Dijk should know better than to look to the ref for a whistle. I just can't abide by players who look for fouls.
16380  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [HIRING] CTO for a Blockchain Project on: April 10, 2018, 10:23:35 PM
I love how those openings lists super serious requirements but rarely states how much much it pays. You realize that professional with the skills you listed will not ask you for less then 100 000$/year ? I mean you are offering 5 step interview - that is some google level stuff. I hired many devs in my time and learned - to hunt a professional I need to tell him what he gets clearly and maybe even before telling him what I ask for.

Actually, even in my previous industry, was frustratingly difficult to find a transparent wage level and I haven't seen any different in computer engineering. That said, the levels of competency in this really new, really saturated blockchain sphere seem to be much lower than I'd been given to expect. Outside of Bitcoin, only a handful are available and mostly spoken for. I suspect this is why you've got people coming here trying to headhunt CTOs on the forum.

Japan it seems is even hiring people without degrees, just sending them for open courses. I've seen now several projects with CTOs having next to no qualifications with very few projects under their belt. This is what's called opportunity, though, isn't it?
