While we are on Pep roulette topic, it could get even worse. He had surgery in Barcelona to solve chronic back problems. He will not be with the team in next two weeks. What that means if anything for City and their players choices I have no idea. Probably not much with all the technology available these days.

Will be out until after the international break, which means that assistant Juanma Lillo will represent the team on the sidelines while Pep works remotely from his hospital bed. Nothing changes, and Pep Roulette continues; the only thing missing from the team is his dominating and motivational work from the sidelines. I doubt Pep will put his trust in Juanma Lillo to make independent decisions.

My captain stays on Watkins - Halaand likely going to blank.

Small tip: Take Wilson out and replace him with Watkins - Aston Villa play Burnley this weekend, and he'll be my captain.
After reading your post, I bet $100 on Watkins to score a goal.

For me, it will be fine in any scenario ... if he scores I will win money, if not, I will overtake you on points
.  Grin

I will most likely be out over the weekend (at least 24 hours before the first match) so I have a day or so to think about who I should replace Maddison with (although I think I'm protected from the price cut). However, I need to decide quickly, because if the price of Foden increases, I will not have many options.

My eyes are on the next players: Phil Foden, Richarlison, Sterling.

That's a good bet for someone who has two assists in the last two games, and he's getting closer to a brace and an assist against Burnley this weekend. And for your midfield option, I'd think Foden is a better choice if you're comfortable with Pep Roulette, but having more than two City players on your team is riskier than diving down from the Egyptian pyramids. If I were you, I'd go for Sterling instead. He's Poch's new preferred attacker. Good attacking returns + 90mins football. Richarlison is inconsistent.

bear in mind that Villa scored four against Everton, and Watkins was not on a scoresheet

I will take two assists over 1 goal every day of my life.

I want to make space in my team to put Haaland but its very difficult in terms of money and also in term of free transfers, so for now Haaland remains out of my team.

If I were you, I would not take a risk by putting Halaand into my team, at least not right now, because you have a very strong front line with Alvarez and Nketieh, both of whom are expected to score this weekend.

Small tip: Take Wilson out and replace him with Watkins - Aston Villa play Burnley this weekend, and he'll be my captain.

They are gonna give me back my points in Fantasy?  Grin
No! Fuckers were even worse last season. There was a player that scored goal, not sure anymore who it was and it was a question if he touched the ball or not. First it was given, then Fa decided it was own goal. Then few hours later they revived and gave it back to player. Points were already calculated and we got robbed for regular goal in Fantasy.

It was March's goal and Mitoma assist- I can't remember who he scored against.

Fantasy rules forbid adjustment of points after they have been awarded; they jerks robbed me of March's 5 pointer last season.

Another red card reversed shows the VAR's and refs' incompetence. We're only two games into the season, and the VAR has already made several errors.

It's certainly fair from you to share this news. Thanks casperBGD.

Trofo and cryptofrka, I would like to use VAR to change my snooker answer  instead of O'Sullivan, I'd like to put Mark Selby as a semi-finalist.

I'm certainly going to use VAR also - remove O'Sullivan and replace him with Shaun Murphy.

Brighton has done a great job, no doubt about it.

Chelsea and Liverpool both lost on this transfer if you ask me. Liverpool needed the player but lost him and in process managed to remove a hefty amount from Chelsea pocket. I know you don't want to hear it but Chelsea transfer policy is criminal, you guys spent so much on frankly mostly mediocre players. I said the same in that transfer window when Boehly decided to buy everything and I will say it again now. Only difference is you have better coach now so maybe he will manage to salvage something.

No, you are right; we have spent over a billion pounds and yet our midfield and attack still seem average; the Chelsea I know only throw money at experienced and proven players rather than investing £100m, £70m on random U24 players.

Half of these billions were spent on random Brazilian kids and loaned out right away. I hope Todd Boehly's model works out for the better because we don't have any reason not to compete given what we've spent so far.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 22, 2023, 03:28:44 PM
Brighton losing their top midfielders and being top of the league after the first two games (still too early), with a total of 8 goals scored (which is the highest so far by any club) is a great feat. The club is one of the best managed in the league with the little resources available to them.
And now resources are coming as well, that transfer fee for Caicedo was a real robbery and I don't understand why would Chelsea ever agree to deal like that.

Chelsea only agreed to pay an £80m package for Caidedo; everyone knows he's not a £100m player; but, Liverpool's owners believe he's worth more than Brighton's £100m asking price and gave them £110m. We only paid that much because Liverpool refused to withdraw their bid after the player rejected them. Why isn't Liverpool accepting full responsibility for inflating the entire transfer package?

The next Brighton robbery train is Mitoma and Estu- I'm sure these players do not have a release clause in their contracts.

Money can buy you players but can't buy you points was what we learned from Chelsea today their 2nd most expensive transfer of all time missed a penalty to put them ahead, and the game surely could have turned out differently had Enzo scored the penalty, while their most expensive player of all time was the one that gave away the penalty that ensured Chelsea stood no chance of getting any point from the match. Moisés Caicedo is actually a very fantastic player but he's definitely worth nothing near half the price Chelsea had to pay for him, and Brighton aren't looking like a team who misses him anyway, while having an heavy fortune in bank for him.

Chelsea actually does need a couple of attacking variations, especially with Nkunku's injury, not C(D)Ms, Lavia and Caicedo were just misplaced priorities imo, why fix something, when it's not faulty?

Let us stop pretending that Klopp didn't take more than four years to rebuild the whole Liverpool team before challenging for titles despite spending fortunes in his first two seasons. Pep likewise went blank in his first rebuild season, and it took Arteta two seasons and a lot of money to get it right. The Chelsea team is rebuilding, with 80% of the players playing together for the first time. As a fan, I expected this rebuild to take at least two seasons to complete. Expecting instant success will not work anywhere.

I'm not sure what you mean by misplaced priorities; Caidedo and Lavia have always been on our list. We almost signed Caicedo in 2020 before Brighton did, and we made a late bid for Lavia last season but were unsuccessful. These two have always been on our short list to replace Kante and Kovasic. Our DM was broken and needed to be fixed.

Watkins captainers where are you? Lets go
Don’t make me have to regret my choices with not lifting my captain band from E. Haaland against such a good side like Newcastle United. Haaland and 4 points, felt like a goalkeeper that wasn’t able to manage a clean sheet. He would have to make up for that.

I'm glad I did! Halaand is terrible without KDB. He's going to struggle as long as KDB is out. Watkins 10 pointer saved my week.

Chelsea managed it to get so many crosses across the box but, no one is always there to make that good enough lift to head the ball. It’s just sad for Caicedo, huge money and gave out a penalty in his first appearance, that’s going to weigh heavily on him.

It's a waste of time to spam crosses against tall Westham defenders. We had an awful and unfortunate day. We played brilliantly, had the most opportunities, and still lost. Enzo's PK miss affects the game's outcome. Can't blame Caidedo for that tackle; he came into the game with his head held high and high hopes, but he will come through. Poch's lineup was once again awful.

I'm actually tempted to use a wildcard for this - it would be a much better team.

The league has only recently begun, and all of the players are still recovery. Do not use your wildcard. Do not be frightened. Do not look at your position; it is still quite early. You have a good team.

I messed up, I recommended Mitoma to all my friends just to learn that I never had him, I swapped him for Eze a few minutes before the GW1 deadline. But I'm not worried.

Finally, if you play FPL with a rivalry bias, you will finish at the bottom. I despise Arsenal and Manchester United with all my heart, but I can't play FPL without their players on my team. That is the drive.

I do not own any Chelsea player yet.

All this assertions from only one league game played? I think it’s too early for many credits and lest not forget, Chelsea isn’t a very good team that can promise you clean sheets and that means point deductions. The goal conversion rate for Chelsea is really low and they haven’t shown much promises from there first game though, it would be nice to see what changes the new ins on the team could do about that.

Even though we were a shambles last season, Kepa was one of the most valuable assets. Under Potter, Chelsea were the third club with the most clean sheets before Lampard arrived and fouled things up.

That being said, we have a better team now, and our next five games are fucking good to not at least have one Chelsea player.

Early scare for the Reds. Goals must flow today, I'm expecting Newcastle to show their credentials, Spurs to find a way past United with a new future without Kane -- oh, and there's the business of Liverpool. Can't believe they're still a stronger favourite than Chelsea after their preferred midfield acquisitions chose Igebotz blue...

You can't blame the 19-25 age group players for picking Chelsea over Liverpool; they weren't alive when Liverpool dominated the league in the 1970s and 1980s, but they all watched Chelsea dominate the league in the 2000s. Having said that, I'm confident that our L.F.C midfield will break every other midfield this season. Our title charge will begin tomorrow.

Bournemouth are shit!

1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 19, 2023, 02:54:03 PM
Speaking of Liverpool's defense and TAA as a 8m defender, the clean sheet is already out of the picture as early as the third minute against f**king Bournemouth, when does it actually end, so It's a goal or a couple of assist from TAA today again or it's another week of wasting public funds on misplaced priority  Shocked

Wow Liverpool have one of the weakest defense in the league+ Allison is no longer the same after his Long injury and you spent 8m hard British currency on TAA?. There is nothing good about Liverpool back at the moment.

-2 point for Salah for missing PK. I love this fucking sport + he's off bonus points

Mitoma and Estu already at it with a goal and assist respectively to give Brighton the lead.

Both beast on my team. Let's fucking goal!!!

I don't know if I just got lucky or if I'm really good at predicting, but beating @Slissy is a tough thing to do, if it's luck then I think I'll quit in the next round against @Igebotz. BTW @cryptofrka, Is the cup prize this time the same as the previous, sorry but I can't find complete information regarding the cup Roll Eyes.

You're almost there; we only have two different answers and you've already scored a point, so I'm hoping the Newcastle game will force you into a shootout.

This Micky cup is draining a lot of my team's energy, and I'm ready to walk away with a $30 freebet to rest my squad for the league match next week.

Poisoned chalice for me, there are few people I won't enjoy going up against and I don't mind saying LFC_Bitcoin's one of them. Good news is a prize is already guaranteed at this stage so it won't be so painful to crash out now.

Shamelessly losing first game of the season to a championship team. Same Liverpool vibes.

Harkorede - If Pep is attempting to create and transfer Gvardiol to the LB position, then implies Stones and Dias/Akanji will play at the CB. My major issue is Stone's fitness; if he stays fit, I believe he will play more games than Gvardiol.

Stones could have prevented that Seville goal you know? He's very good in the air.

Yeah, I think it's just for the time being, just to help grow some confidence before slotting right into the center of the defense because a lot of pass decision making will be required of him, and he can't afford to lose his confidence just before he gets the chance to prove he's world class.

Good luck to him. He has Lewis, Aker and Akanji to contest with at that position. Lewis is the only natural LB among them this season.

Jawbreaker, Joao Pedro starts from the bench and Welbeck leads the attack for Brighton, now a lot of think to do for managers like me begin with potential Wissa and Mbuemo switch along the line, it's too early ffs  Huh

Not surprised about Perdro he missed so many scoring opportunities last match. There is Ferguson and Wellbech as option trust me there is going to be a heavy rotation in that position. Only Mitoma and Estu position are secured. Watkins time to deliver!!!

@NotATether- Onana with another clean sheets. Watch out.

Spurs are playing high scoring Agneball, they are not like previous managers. Lots of goals but no clean sheets for both sides. That's why I benched Onana.

Or course, it is also a risk to play Leno against Brentford that has Wissa and penalty-taking Mbeumo, but the risk is lower than with United's match.

My second choice GK is Westham Areola, who will almost certainly concede three goals against Chelsea, and my other option is Onana, so there was simply nothing I could do and no GK is worth a -4 hit at the time. I'm just praying the United-Tottenham game ends in another 1-0 or 0-0 draw.
I know both teams are unstable at the back but the unexpected could happen.

This GW should be my worst in first 5 weeks of the game so this is your opportunity to catch up with me Smiley As long as Salah doesn't outscore Haaland by a lot I will be happy with my GW result, Mbuemo blank would do nicely as well.

The GW is really difficult. I glanced at the team and realised there was nothing I could do; the Stones situation had destroyed every aspect of my game plan. The medical team must have been insane to rush him back to training now that he'll be missing for a couple more games. Halaand, on the other hand, could get less than 60 minutes against Newcastle due to the choppy schedule, thus I made Watkins my captain above Halaand and Saka.

Salah is the best Cap choice this GW, but I don't have him and can only pray he blanks.

Hhampuz seems like you're going to win our side bet although I expect Gvardiol injury episodes to start soon too. ( not wishing him bad but both are injury prone players)

I want penalty for Spurs to see who is their no.1 penalty taker and it will also help with my both to score bet.

Son ahead of Maddison easily.

@NotATether- Onana with another clean sheets. Watch out.
