1641  Economy / Economics / Re: The Difference Between Staking and Investing on: November 08, 2020, 06:32:51 PM
Staking is a type of investment, everything that you need capital to gain or make profit is investment, business is investment for example. I know most of projects now are considering staking, which might be the reason why you started this thread, and Imma tell you why most of projects do staking. Staking is making a certain crypto ecosystem sustainable, this means that the project will work even the team does not watch it.
1642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When did we find out Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym? on: November 08, 2020, 06:04:16 PM
Sirius does not have any contacts to Satoshi Nakamoto, he already cleared this up from the beginning. Talking about who is Satoshi Nakamoto is an old thing to do but I guess it's not irrelevant or will never be irrelevant as long as we can see bitcoin on the internet. This still amaze me, thinking how his creation got this far, and him not showing up though he knew it ( or he don't coz he's probably dead but we don't know ) For a person to introduce a new system of money to get himself a pseudonym is natural for me.

1645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 06, 2020, 07:49:04 PM
What's so much to a 19 year old boy losing in a bet? what the hell is happening to the world ?! I could have understand it if he sold his house, bet and lost but it was not. I'm sure it is not just about the gambling at all, I mean losing might be the missing link for him to trigger something he thought he wanted but I'm sure that was not just the reason why he did that, and he can't bare with it unfortunately.
1646  Economy / Economics / Re: What is causing last few days' run-up? on: November 06, 2020, 07:14:08 PM
paypal is indeed one of the indicators of the increase in btc prices,
Well I could not disagree with this, since the Paypal had announced that there will be a buying and selling of cryptocurrencies on their platform bitcoin price, rather the market surprisingly turns to green, well speaking of it that should really does make the market green. But I do hate making such assumptions, if Paypal has data that will say new people/new user come to them every day to buy bitcoin instead of using an exchange I might believe they did it to bitcoin price.

and one more thing that I would add is to show that the position of BTC cannot be shifted by Defi, who has recently tried to turn many investors from BTC to Defi
The Defi shit, that thing is ridiculous. Up for a 100 then goes 0 the next day, would you let people hold your money in promising a bigger return? hell nah.
1647  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Targets for 2020 on: November 06, 2020, 05:05:39 PM
Do you think we will see it break past $20k?
It is possible. During the last ATH rally in 2017, it was not until the end of November that Bitcoin surpassed $10,000 but at this point now it is already testing the $16k resistance level. The value of Bitcoin is unpredictable, but we could very well see a new All Time High before the end of they year.
I would just agree to others that this year's bitcoin price movement will be dramatic as it is moving positively during the pandemic, a blessing in disguise? I don't think so. We are all hoping for the highest it could be at, would be glad to touch $20K again but it will just drop again no matter how we speculate it. Bitcoin is made as an investment, we don't need to pretend as if we are not going to sell when it touches a high price  Grin

1648  Economy / Economics / Re: This is why bitcoin HAS to go up on: November 05, 2020, 08:50:07 PM
But in exchange of having more printed dollars is the weakening of it, looking at the value of dollar makes me not want it anymore because it continously drops. This is why I am very positive that bitcoin will rise after the dollar's sick, especially now that the election in the US exaggeratedly affects the bitcoin price or should I call it just fine? Other currencies than dollar is getting stronger on the other hand, maybe a year or two I'll start to see people converting their local currencies into Chinese yuan or Japanese yen.  Roll Eyes
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Say Bitcoin is scam on: November 05, 2020, 05:49:27 PM
The bitcoin ecosystem is fully based on the Bitcoin community. This is a decentralized cryptocurrency. So we can't imagine its scam, and we can't imagine what will happen if it's become a scam as well.
Lacking of fundamental knowledge about bitcoin will make the people call it a scam lol this is where " we are afraid of what we don't know" saying goes. Bitcoin isn't a scam, and will never be but people can scam using bitcoin and you should know it since you have been part of this forum in a while. Creating threads like this is pointless.

Better know what decentralization is, and how it won't be a scam.
1650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why most of us are losing money in sports betting? on: November 04, 2020, 08:19:34 PM
Well losing is part of gambling, we can't just win every time. If someone is winning, then definitely someone is losing and the houses are just making from edges. But there are some factors which might contribute in either winning or losing in a game that you should look for, maybe money management? are you a greedy type of bettor? high roller? that kind of stuff. In sports betting, it's all on your view of the game.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 04, 2020, 05:18:38 PM
Adding crypto payments would be complex for your online store, and you must consult from your customer first before adding a cost in constructing your online store with crypto integration, if your customers are demanding for such method of payment then you should go for it. But then again the risk is high since the number one factor of having these cryptos is the volatility especially with bitcoin and ethereum, I doubt people would look for another crypto besides these two  Huh
1652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Looking: Sources that show information about suspended/injured missing players on: November 03, 2020, 07:06:35 PM
Actually I really don't think that there is a specific page or websites for a specific purpose like what you are looking for because if you are looking for that information about the players from the different sports, if and only if there is an accident happened or what ot will be broadcast on the news right away most especially if the player and the team he or she is playing for is famous.

It's too difficult to track down those injured players aside from the actual situation there are also chances that incidents may
take place before the game will be announce.
Well I don't think it is not that hard to find these players as long as you are on the right page of reading like any news article, but as far as I know not all injured players are being broadcasted, well maybe they do on their local news.

I also like to know if this is possible since it's a good advantages to every sports gamblers, knowing the potential change if
important players are not around.
This is part of betting in sports, knowing who is playing with the team of your choice and the versus. So this might give a nice ahead.

1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you buy BTC from PayPal now that they are letting people do it? on: November 02, 2020, 11:34:41 PM
Maybe I will be buying it when there is a necessity for it, but for now I don't find the reasons to buy bitcoin into paypal account because literally, it is having no difference with the fiat purchase since it can be used on all the merchants as well.
Same here. I kinda got hyped when I heard about this and I know they still have plans to upgrade their user's cryptocurrency experience but for now, I'll stick with my regular cryptocurrency platform. Transaction fees are still high anywhere and I know Paypal will be able to find a loophole to it so I'll buy some for now and wait things out for the meantime.
1654  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: November 02, 2020, 11:03:54 PM
Well.. just one small question here. Why can't they just re-denominate their currency? Not saying that it is going to slow down the inflation rate, or keep more money in the treasury.. but having bills of 100,000 or 250,000 sound really weird. If I was the finance minister, then I would re-denominate the currency by a factor of 1 million. So the rate becomes 1 New Bolivar = $2.30. It is not going to last long.. but still, it is worth giving a try.
And would also liven the people's trust over the country's currency. Another factor why the currency is not getting back up is the fact that people don't use it. If your population don't use your coins, it's not gonna be worth anything. This helps them get back the trust that was once lost and help Venezuela come back again in the face of the world economy as a recovering currency, not as a laughingstock
1655  Economy / Economics / Re: btc value and currency inflations on: November 02, 2020, 10:39:43 PM
Sounds funny but reasonable, I have almost assumed such before, I felt, since Bitcoin will always be measured in us dollar how about when the dollar value depreciates I'm my country, doesn't it automatically mean the value of bitcoin has dropped too.  I don't want to accept with those who says the value of US dollars cannot drop. It definitely can. Because it's value is determined by your country's currency rate to it.
This is a big dilemma by many nowadays, especially now that USD is beginning to show signs of decline. I'm thinking bitcoin will still retain its value even if the fiat it is connected to depreciates in value. If anything it will make bitcoin have a bigger impact. Think of it as the Venezuelan bolivar. It became so inflated that the people out there started using USD instead because you'd need a sack full of bolivars just to buy a hotdog. This could induce a force adoption of bitcoin which is good
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggest the best strategy on: November 02, 2020, 10:08:03 PM
Usually I bet fixed amount of bet sometimes I don't check out the status of the team and just based on the odds I'm betting a big a mount on smaller odds it is risky sometimes but most of the time it works so I think this is the best strategy for me.
This is what worked a lot for me to be honest. You have this and self-control? You'll win big. Many people have trouble with the latter as I have observed on this thread. They tend to bet more when they have already won and bet more again to cover the losses when they already know they are in a losing streak. Before you bet you have to work on your self-control or no plan will work for you at all.
1657  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal to allow cryptocurrency buying, selling and shopping on its network on: November 02, 2020, 09:47:07 PM
PayPal is very difficult to elucidate a part of the transaction fee. it's not known exactly what proportion PayPal will charge for the transaction. the opposite cryptocurrencies to be added to PayPal services after Bitcoin are Ethereum, Lightcoin and Bitcoin Cash. All are often stored directly in PayPal Digital Wallet. PayPal added that as a part of this service PayPal will provide educational materials to account holders to assist customers to understand the cryptocurrency ecosystem. PayPal will convert cryptocurrency into national currency for the utilization of virtual coins. companies that receive paid money will receive the proper amount of pounds or dollars rather than virtual coins the report said.
Except if they do something revolutionary which Elon Musk, it's creator is publicly known for. He actively shows support on the coin and cryptocurrency overall. And having his vast wealth, he can implement a systematic transaction fee that is based on fiat rather than bitcoin or cryptocurrency itself. It only wouldn't help PayPal reach more people, the amount of people that will use the site may also help win back the losses of implementing such a rule.
1658  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: November 02, 2020, 09:13:15 PM
It seems to me that these are vain hopes that banks will one day disappear. Even if they do not exist physically and they do not have offices and real estate in which they are now, they will continue to exist virtually. In the form of portals or in the form of interactive decentralized services. I think it will be that way.
Banks live and thrive over their customer's trust and money. Their biggest ways of earning profits is through investments and ironically, through loans made by the customer. That being said, as the economy continuously decline due to the pandemic, it is expected that people will look for alternative ways of investing rather than sticking with banks. This is where bitcoin comes in. It's going to be a long process, but this is the first of the many steps bitcoin will take towards winning over corporations.
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: November 02, 2020, 08:34:53 PM
in my country there is no prohibition on using bitcoin, but no one does bitcoin transactions because many people do not believe in bitcoin, bitcoin in my country is not well known and many people only believe in fiat.
So this rules out the factor that government's decision affects the public's views regarding bitcoin and cryptocurrency altogether. What I believe is the reason why not everyone is investing on it is the fact that people's lives are so embedded on fiat that the promise of bitcoin just doesn't work for them anymore. Why aim for online currencies when digital payment exists, for example.
1660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Follow your mind! on: November 02, 2020, 08:00:45 PM
There are members on the Bitcointalk forum who are very good at predicting the price of bitcoins.

If you read the posts of these people for several years, you will see that their predictions are very accurate.  I have a list of such people.  I know their weaknesses.  For example, one is good at predicting when the market is bullish, the other when the market is bearish.  I consult with them.

However, I make all investment decisions myself.

that would be a very good thing if we could follow some experts advice and see their prediction about bitcoin's upcoming price drop and increase.
can you share the list of members and their posts with us here or send via PM,  I would really like to see what are they predicting about bitcoin. because for me. Bitcoin always been unpredictable. I thought something else an happened something else.
You can't just rely on these people's allegations even if they're really "good" at it. Despite bitcoin's high volatility rate, we can't just rely on hocus pocus predictions you know. Might as well ask them what their secret is, and then have these tips be incorporated in each and everyone's investment plans so we all know when to sell and when to buy or hodl.
