Price is not 'crashing'... It is simply returning to the previous normal of moderate price rising and falling in waves. Panic selling just because there is a dip in exchange rates is the worst possible thing for anyone to do!
Yes the waves are now up & down several $k but the percentage of rise and fall is still rather small and that is what matters the most. When there is a significant dip that is the time to BUY, not sell.

Now go 1 better and ditch using MS Word. Just use Libre Office (or Open Office) for all you document needs....

Wasn't ButterflyLabs based in the US?
"Missouri-based" according to The Verge. I think almost all the ones that were based in the US turned out to either be terrible companies or just outright scams, heh. CoinTerra and HashFast were also US-based and decidedly sketchy. And let us not ever forget AMT which was supposed to be the American distributor of "Made in America" miners based on the A1 chip from the Swiss company Bitmine.ch. Just one of the many threads about them from 2014: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=304605.6400While AMT's failure was not entirely the fault of its owner Josh Zipkin he nonetheless acted in very unethical manners when it became apparent that the hash board layouts that Bitmine.ch provided to AMT were 'designed' by idiots with no idea about how to design power electronics. AFAIK Josh still owes many people several thousand dollars each for miners that were never delivered.

United State is not legal for bitcoin and altcoin so there are not place and space for bitcoin become to mining or anything else like founding ICO project, many ICO and IEO not allowed for United State investor to buy coins because not allowed by their government and faced cases later if allowed or United State investor to buy ICO or IEO coins.
Bullsh** Where the hell did you get that info from? Crypto mining is fully legal here in the US. Just be sure to follow all financial regulations and pay all taxes due. As for ICO/ITO etc - that is another story. Still fully legal to start a new one IF you follow all the regulations regarding them. However considering that most altcoins/tokens are crap/trash which were created just to make the developers a quick boat load of cash, sure, lots of them cannot be legally exchanged here. Ripple is a perfect example of what happens when you try to get around regulations that have been put into place to cut down on the scammers.

My take on it is that it is at least partly a result of how the diff setting equation works. Remember, the 1st block after a diff change does not directly count. How much that matters in the Real World - probably just a little - but again, when an Epoch starts the small sample size means inaccurate data and as we near the end of each Epoch the data set becomes larger and more refined.

But you are slightly above specs which is as bad as being under it, the specs on their website say " 210~240V", it's only a 4volt difference but might be worth looking into.
Yesss - and no. The issue with a high line is that if the input side of the PSU has poorly rated input diodes and/or bulk filter capacitors a high line *could* exceed their voltage ratings causing them to fail (short out) with very obvious results. A low line results in pulling more current from the wall and again, that could result in blowing the input diodes if their current rating is exceeded but more often just results in the PSU not being able to deliver enough voltage when under full load. In short, if input voltage is too high you could blow the PSU but assuming none of the Majik Smoke has been released it should still operate just fine. As Mikey said, you need to provide us a log of what the miner is reporting as it starts up and then fails. Be sure to use the code function # from the toolbar here to paste in the system logs.

Because Canaan's Avalons have no need for 3rd party firmware from folks that charge for using it (and violate the Open source license on cgminer). Use the More options box to tweak them. Starting with the Avalon A10xx the tweaks you can do on them has been cut back but you can still play with temps, fan speeds, hash speed and voltages. Cannan has said that starting with the A12xx series they have brought back the the full list of tweaks.
For most folks, MicroBt's Whatsminers do well enough with the 2-3 operating modes they come with.

Aside from USB stick miners and similar small miners, BTC miners are all stand-alone devices with most using an embedded controller and a variant of Linux that runs cgminer as the 'application'. All they need is power and connection to the internet (yes they have a LAN port). They do not use any other PC aside from access during setup or for running monitoring software.
Braiins is a full rewrite of cgminer but the OS running on the embedded microcontroller is still just a variant of Linux.

One basic question that has to be asked: Does the miner have good power feeding it? Voltage should be between 208-240VAC, preferably around 220VAC. Running on low voltage can cause PSU's to drop out which of course totally screws with the tuning process and general running.

The OP did nothing wrong and should keep the coins.
As pointed out in earlier posts the exchange's ToS states that "Orders, once executed, are final and irreversible." That works both ways - if the buyer/seller screwed up OR if the exchange had a bug that allowed the sale then tough nuts: The transaction is final and cannot be reversed. A service provider cannot legally say that their ToS only applies to the user - a ToS also sets the rules for the service provider and their ToS is binding for all parties.
Unless there is an escape clause in the ToS regarding what happens due to the exchange screwing up then the exchange has to live with it.

1. Nicehash or any other mining rental service is a terrible idea to use. Sure they pay you but it is a fraction of what they earn from your gear. Join a PPS pool - you will earn more.
2. I assume you are talking about Nicehash's AB pool? It sux big time to the point of needing the special driver that Canaan made to run their miners there along with NH having a dedicated AB connection address. The Avalons all work fine on non-rental pools and all pools these days will run AB if the miner can do it - no special driver or connection required.

And from what it seems above, this transaction is indeed a taxable event for IRS, despite no cryptocurrency<->fiat conversion taking place.
Correct. In the US *any* non-fiat sales transaction be it using crypto or even barter using items or services rendered is taxable at the fiat equivalency of your purchase.

MM is the actual miner firmware. OpenWRT is the miner controller software. PMU is for the power managment unit (where the PCIe plugs are)
Just make sure the MM and OpenWRT are from the same release dates, they are matched pairs.
For OpenWRT open GUI and go to System > Backup/flash firmware to start things. By doing the upgrade from here you have the option to retain your pool & users settings. Um, if you have not done it yet, this would be a good time to backup the miner settings...
For the MM, after doing the OpenWRT and rebooting controller, open GUI and go to Status > MM upgrade and again do the obvious. Can't say I've needed or used the PMU update, read the README for what it is about and how to apply if you want to use it.
AB is *not* a new algorithm, it is a hardware-based way to generate additional work for the miner to process and requires the miner chips to support it. AFAIK the 841 only supports AB when in Performance mode.

Also, this area is for BTC only. No altcoin topics allowed here - there is a a large altcoin area for that. Use it...

For a start, what exchange are you using? What should be an obvious question: Do you have funds in your trading wallet there to fund your transaction? The message says NO...

If one relies only on what he was taught by his teachers in school, one has gained knowledge, but is not educated. In my opinion, the proper definition and description of an educated man is one who can identify problems and deficits and by himself seek out knowledge and solutions to them. The school doesn't teach you everything because they are restricted to a curriculum, they set the pace for you, but it left to you to decide whether to continue to educate your mind or simply take what you have been given and rot.
Spot on and merit given for that ^ Education is not learning by rote: Education is learning facts along with learning how to explore & understand the reasons behind them. Understanding the 'how' and 'why' of things is far more important than just being able to memorize and recite a list of things.
