1641  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: May 06, 2023, 07:57:25 AM

In this time of economic problems, people are more concerned about cutting costs. If you offer products with cheaper prices, the business will attract more customers. So every business shouldn't focus on making huge profit but the target should be how to attract more customers. This is because more customers will lead to higher profits. So business owners should seek quality products that have competitive prices.

Too many customers obviously won't increase your profit, and if you're selling things at a loss to them, I don't think that's a good way to attract more customers. Instead, treat your customers well and stock your store with a variety of goods so they can make the perfect choice when they visit. As you mentioned, treating your customers like kings is another great way to boost your revenue because they'll notice when things are going well in your store.

Having many customers and making a small profit from each sale might be better than having few customers and making a huge profit from them. An example is having 10 customers that you make $10 from each of them and having 100 customers that you make $2 from each of them. The former will bring $100 and the latter $200. Attracting more customers is an important factor in business growth and profitability.

This truly extraordinary to see from a human  kind, I mean not humans have the heart to sacrifice their assets for needed and this is what we humans need in order for the world to be a better place. Once again weldone mate and as you have given out from pockets let it refilled with tenfold of the actuall asset spent so that you and others all you will the same mindset to sacrifice such in your local community.
If the well-to-do keep remembering that there are people that need help and set aside some funds for their welfare the world will gradually be a better place. But the world now is driven by greed and materialism where people want to lavish their money on temporal pleasures. I am not the judge here because everybody has the freedom to spend his income as he/she desires. OP what you have done is extraordinary. Looking at the picture, I can see the level of poverty of the people and that they really need help. You have put smiles on the face of many and they will never forget these kind gestures.

Apart from giving them food items, you can organize a skills acquisition program where they can learn some basic skills that can empower them to secure jobs. Exposing them to some opportunities online and giving them some cheap Android phones might help to give them little income that can help them take care of their needs.
1643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Montana bitcoin enthusiasts are now protected by the law. on: May 05, 2023, 08:12:55 PM
There are a lot of states slowly getting into it, Mississippi & Missouri lawmakers propose laws protecting bitcoin mining.

And with that, perhaps we can consider this states pro-bitcoin too. But then again, it's about the cost of electricity that will be the big factor here. If they can keep it cheap and low cost then maybe it's going to boom and it's good that they have this kind of laws. So let's see who's next and how it will affect not just mining but bitcoin is general in states as the Biden government wanted 30% tax on crypto miners.
The good news is that the state of Montana has shown a willingness of welcoming Bitcoin miners. The law protecting miners is the first step because they had a very unfriendly law before now. How can a law state that Bitcoin miners must build their power source before they can mine in the state, that was bad. But this new law if adopted and implemented will be friendly and has the potency to attract Bitcoin miners to the state. I am sure that the next phase will be about the cost of electricity or avenues to generate electricity. The government can reduce the cost of electricity or partner with miners to generate power. The US has many abandoned dams that can be refurbished or converted to electric dams.

Great job by this advocacy group Satoshi Action Fund. It is good to hear that there are groups that are fighting genuinely for the protection, promotion, and advancement of Bitcoin.
1644  Economy / Economics / Re: Have a Income? Invest in Crypto or Not? Let's think realistically on: May 05, 2023, 07:26:06 PM
Small profit is still profit. And the first rule of thumb for me is contentment. If you as a newbie trader compares yourself with a Joe that is a professional trader who makes $500k per week on trading you may truncate whatever trading career you are building up for yourself.

Because you refused to control yourself and your emotions. Pro traders do not let their emotions control them. That's why they know when to trade and when to take a rest.
The crypto market is too complex and vast to totally understand. Anybody that claims to know all about crypto trading might not be truthful. I have never seen any trader the will claim that he has never experienced losses for like six months. That is why each time I see adverts or promotions in my country that promises consistently huge returns, I immediately know that they are scammers. I am not yet a trader  because I have not learned. And even if I ever start trading, I will never invest more than I can afford. I have never been moved to take loan to invest in any business because there no guarantee that a business will be profitable, therefore using a loan to invest in a volatile sector like the crypto space is very risky..
1645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Promo offers from Twitter Influencers Scam ore serious offers? on: May 03, 2023, 08:57:46 AM
hello together, i have a question about Twitter and its promo influencers. I recently finished my first NFT collection its all new my twitter account has just 20 followers, but since i started listing my NFTs to opensea and added a post with explains about the added value of my NFT collection i instantly start getting rows of promo offers from diffrent Twitter NFT influencers. I checked the profiles but they seem more like professional promoters than scammers, but still i dont know what to think about it. they have between 100k and 1 million followers and the accounts are from 2009-2019 so they are doing this for quite a while. Since these people follow me, my impressions rised from 6 to 80 in more ore less 2 days so...what am i dealing with here right now? should i take them serious ore better just ignore them ?
I don't think the number of followers is a reliable means of determining if an influencer is reliable or not a scammer. I used to think this way until I saw an advert in this forum where a member promised to raise the followers of any social account if they pay a certain amount. Which means followership can be manipulated.

How long the influencer has been in business can be a good indicator but you should also be careful because his account might be hacked or cloned to carry out a fraudulent act. Also, the influencer might have compromised his integrity.

There are genuine and reliable influencers that can help your business to grow but you just have to be careful in you dealing with these social media business people. And don't give them money or your product without verifying every bit of the business proposal and transactions.
1646  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin having effect on the ongoing war on: May 03, 2023, 08:37:46 AM
I will be in the opinion that they will do everything in their power to maintain USD as the dominant reserved currency. Although there are a lot of movements right now, BRIC thinking of another alternative currency to be used, or as someone mentioned, Saudi might try the Yuan. US is still capable to do that, maybe offer trade baits for other countries, or improved their trade relations so that they can keep power of the USD.

As for bitcoin or any cryptos to be a reserved currency, it should be stable, which obviously is not a trait of BTC. And for Yuan to be a reserve currency, it should have depth and liquidity, and their financial still lacks that.

There seems to be a little crack in BRICS. South Africa has informed Russian President Putin that he would be arrested if he steps his feet on South African soil. There was pressure from Russia and China on South Africa to withdraw from the International Criminal Court ICC and it was assumed that it have succumbed when South African President Ramaphosa criticized the ICC and threatened to quit the organization. But the recent decision to execute the warrant on Putin issued by the ICC is proof that the US and her allies still have a lot of influence on some of these BRICS nations.

I still believe that Bitcoin is the best option for any country to channel its reserve to because it is transnational and free from the politics of any country.
1647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: May 03, 2023, 08:08:35 AM
And this is something that Qatar never even considered, one of the things that they used to win the right to host the torunament was that the middle east was yet to host the World Cup, and FIFA in their attempt to bring the World Cup to every region of the world wanted to give Qatar a chance, but now that we have seen the treatment they gave to the tourists that visited their country for this event then FIFA is going to be way more wary about organizing such a big event there, when there were so many restrictions during the Qatar World Cup.
If FIFA wants to kill the excitement and the glamour of the world cup let them allow any Islamic country to host the next competition. The complaints of violation of human rights, exploitation of workers, and stringent condition placed on football fans are still fresh in the memory of the world, so they should let us heal from these traumatic experience. These issues were fuelled by the kind of political system these countries operates. These nations are ruled by autocratic leaders that control the press, economy, and all sectors of the country.

The next four world cups should be hosted by democratic nations that promote the freedom of all citizens. Football fans should be able to enjoy the world cup without restriction. A country where workers will be protected from harm and paid based on the stipulated minimum wage. For now, no nation in the Middle East should host the world cup unless there is a concrete agreement to handle these issues.
1648  Economy / Economics / Re: Effects of Crypto and Bitcoin on the Economy on: May 03, 2023, 07:48:29 AM
You are on point Op when you identified that Bitcoin and the crypto industry have created employment opportunities for many people in some countries. Many people have also used the sector as a side job to complement their income. Bitcoin is one of the fastest and safest sectors to invest in. Investing in some sectors requires some cumbersome bureaucratic process that makes it time-consuming. But all you need is just a wallet to buy and hold your investment. Many banks are failing making their shareholders lose their funds but over the years the bitcoin sector has been consistent.

In some countries, bank transactions are not reliable. But Bitcoin is competing with these banks and many people are seeing the sector as a good alternative to fiat banking.

Saving is a habit that is cultivated, so I don't think only the Bitcoin sector is helping people to save. If you don't have the drive to save, you will never be able to set funds aside for future investment.
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what are the ways to learn lesson in easy ways on: May 03, 2023, 07:00:05 AM
some days ago i discovered that my friend also invest in bitcoin and not have much knowledge about bitcoin, he just invested in it recently for doubling his money.

His intention for investing in the sector was his greatest undoing. He saw the Bitcoin space as a money-doubling venture so when he saw the scam, he believed it was an opportunity to accomplish his objective. He also refused to learn about the sector because he was just interested in making money first before learning. At least he has learned his lesson the hard way.

Quote
the question is how can we try to save newbie's from scams in crypto verse, we and many youtuber are saying that don't send bitcoins, there are many scams, etc. or we should not tell and left them to learn the lesson in hard way, I already listened many people those are in crypto for a while they said many things like don't be greedy, stay away from free crypto, etc. but i just listened and not applied and got scamed one time.

Your responsibility is to keep teaching them about the Bitcoin space and exposing them to privacy and cybersecurity. The message is short and simple but very powerful "Don't be greedy". Any business in the industry that promises huge returns within a short period is a potential scam. Any crypto advertisement that gives you a clear prediction of how much you will earn at a certain period might be a scam because the crypto space is not predictable. Your responsibility is to inform them, it is up to them to accept your advice or reject it.
1650  Economy / Economics / Re: Effects of Cryptocurrency Adoption on: May 02, 2023, 12:46:27 PM
Vietnam has the highest level of cryptocurrency adoption, with China and Nigeria engaging in cryptocurrency-based trade due to foreign exchange policies.
In Venezuela and Brazil, legacy financial systems' costs and bureaucracy drive people to experiment with and switch between different cryptocurrencies.
The scarcity of dollars and restrictions placed on the withdrawal of the local currency is forcing businesses to seek alternatives in some African countries. Accessing foreign currencies mostly the dollar from the central bank could take up to six months due to bureaucratic processes making businesses lose viable opportunities. Inflation has led many people to seek other avenues to keep their savings against the incessant devaluation of the local currency. No matter how hard the government tries to dissuade its citizens from dealing with Bitcoin, the currency is getting more popular because it is far better than fiat.

1652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 02, 2023, 11:23:03 AM
That's the problem. Nobody knows the kind of strategy Frank Lampard would implement in the Chelsea match against the Arsenal team today.
In Chelsea's last matches against Brentford, Brighton and Wolves. We saw how Lampard had wack fixtures and formation in those matches. Nobody knows the kind of fixtures of players he will choose to select to play against Arsenal that will warrant Chelsea to win a match at least than keep falling under the 11-12 position of the premier league table.
Although Arsenal versus Chelsea match will be a winning match for Arsenal. Their past 4 matches have not been a good result for them. They need this win more than ever to keep them in line in the fight for the PL trophy
Chelsea has nothing to lose or gain if they win or more this game, except they have decided to rebuild their reputation. I don't think Frank Lampard has any strategy that will undo the Arsenal team because he has not shown that in five matches. The team is just out of shape totally that it will take a miracle for them to win this game. But Arsenal's case is also difficult because they will be playing under pressure because of the importance of his game. The team will be playing at home before anxious fans that require nothing but a win. The fans have enjoyed so much success and celebration only to be at pains when it was almost time to wear the crown. The greatest shame will be if they are beaten by a disorganized Chelsea team today. It will be the end of the title race.
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the status of Bitcoin in Tanzania? on: May 02, 2023, 10:56:49 AM
- Is Tanzania a crypto-friendly country? And what are the limits of that?
Tanzania has a large population that uses Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies mostly in the urban area. The government of Tanzania is discouraging the use of cryptocurrency which is why they are planning to introduce the central bank digital currency (CBDC). But for now, there is no legal framework that regulates crytocurrency operations so there might be no restrictions to crypto operations since it is not banned. The country is crypto-friendly since citizens are allowed to use it without restrictions.

- How can crypto be exchanged into local Tanzanian TZS currency in a completely safe way, and are there services in Tanzania (Zanzibar in particular) that accept bitcoin payments?

There are many functional crypto exchanges in Tanzania which include Kraken, Binance, Remitano, BitPesa Tanzania, etc, but they all require KYC and might ask for a bank account to which you might not have access to. But some online banks issue credit and debit cards with just emails but they can not be trusted. So basically the problem you might face is how to have a bank account where you can withdraw your funds after using these exchanges.

- If there are difficulties in using Bitcoin for a foreign traveler like me in Tanzania, are there countries in the same East African region that provide easier solutions?
I am not sure if there are many business that accepts bitcoin for payments. If they exist they might be very few. P2p transactions are also few so the major difficulty you might face is how to convert your bitcoin to the local currency. Kenya will be my best option because it is more crypto-developed than Tanzania.

- What suggestions can you give me to help me with any parts of the trip? Knowing that I intend to travel beginning of next July.
The first and most important issue will be security. Ensure you get all the information from the embassy before entering the country. Avoid keeping late nights and don't move around with large sums.

Lastly, I will also use this medium to encourage new members joining bitcointalk platform to make it a priority by first reading through the forum policies and guidelines so as to be able to  make good contributions and know how the platform operates in other for them to be able to scale through without having any issues.

In this present world when everybody seems to be in haste, achieving 1000 posts is a big achievement. I have introduced some persons to Bitcoin and this forum but they see learning as a waste of time and they want to immediately gain without patience. That is why there is an increase in the rate of scams and get-rich-instantly businesses. I celebrate your patience and dedication that has brought you to this great milestone. To get to this level you have put in so much time and resources. I suggest you take the advice of some of the respondents in this thread because those words of wisdom will make your stay in the forum more fruitful and impactful. Thank you for the encouragement.

1656  Economy / Economics / Re: Retirement Age for Workers - Does this Make Sense? on: May 01, 2023, 02:31:24 AM
I am not so well informed on the French politics, but I'm my personal opinion and raise in the age of retirement is viewed as a cut in the governments plan for those desire to retire and spend the rest of their life in a calm situation, enjoying the money they have managed to accumulate during their professional career.

I am not sure why Macron needed to do this, are there not enough experienced workers in France ? Why not start a goverment program to recruit professionals adroad?

Even thought it is only a difference of two years I can perfectly see why anyone would not feel happy with that.
The French government is trying to reduce the cost of paying salaries and other employment benefits. When workers retire they have to receive gratuity and pension which affects the finance of the government. The government also needs to employ new staff to fill the position of these retirees which is also capital intensive. So to save money, they have to increase the age of retirees to make them work more years, which will also help the government to save the cost of employing new staff for an extra two years.

This policy will also help in reducing the number of foreign professionals that will be attracted to France. But the government fails to understand that forcing people to work against their will may lead to low productivity. Although some people might like the policy because they still want to be active for more years, I think a high number of French workers are against this policy and we might be more protests today.

https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/04/24/zimbabwe-to-introduce-gold-backed-digital-currency-report/
Zimbabwe to Introduce Gold-Backed Digital Currency: Report
The country's central bank wants people to be able to exchange Zimbabwe dollars for the gold-backed token so that they can hedge against the currency's volatility.
__
Zimbabwe is not far from the Central African Republic and they want to revive the gold standard, only gold will be paper or tokenized. What will the price of gold be in Zimbabwe after that?
Probably better to use Bitcoin because the central bank token is not trustworthy.
Except Zimbabwe's economy is fixed, Bitcoin or gold will have little or no impact. The country is battling corruption, low agricultural productivity, and a shortage of power mainly triggered by the land reforms of Robert Mugabe. Using bitcoin or gold as a hedge against inflation will only favor the rich that has saving but the poor that are focused on survival will suffer the effect of inflation. I will not also advise any investor to consider the gold-backed token because it can be prone to corruption and manipulation which could lead to its collapse. However, if well managed it will help in reducing the overdependence of dollars as a legal tender and store of value in the South African country.
1658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What would the Bitcointalk Forum be like without Signature Campaigns? on: May 01, 2023, 01:37:22 AM
Therefore, I ask, what would the forum be like without signature campaigns?

Would it be more sanitized?
Would it be less filled with spams?
Would there be fewer alternate accounts?
The general belief in this forum is that we are all here to discuss and learn about Bitcoin. But the financial benefit serves as a motivation to be more active. Also, some of the abnormalities that are recorded in the forum are a result of the financial benefits. So I agree that all the consequences OP listed above will be the case. There will be fewer posts and activities which will reduce the amount of spam and creation of more accounts.

It will also be an opportunity to see those that are interested in Bitcoin and people that don't rely on the campaign reward for a living. Those that have little or no interest in Bitcoin will quietly bow out. Most people that depend on the campaign fund will leave and seek other sources if income. While those that are independent of the forum earning will remain.
1659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin continue to safe life in the face of financial crisis on: May 01, 2023, 01:08:54 AM
I tried googling to find additional information about the op's story, but couldn't find anything. So I join others in saying that a link to a source would be much appreciated. If it's a true story, it's wonderful to see that Bitcoin was useful in an unexpected situation. However, I don't quite understand why online banking wasn't available (even though the Internet connection was okay, I assume, considering that Bitcoin could be sent and received)... I remember some stories from my own country, from the early days of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Some people used Bitcoin to purchase a car, for example. So I do understand how a situation similar to the one described by the op could present itself, but I'd like to see more information about the Sudan-Nigeria case.

The news of Nigerian students trapped in the desert because the transport company didn't receive their full payment is true and can be viewed from this link. But there is no information to verify the story of using Bitcoin to pay the drivers. And the drivers had dealings with the Nigerian government and not individual students. As much as I know also, North African countries are the most unfriendly nations to Bitcoin. Countries like Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, and Morocco placed an absolute ban on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Although Sudan didn't ban cryptocurrency transactions absolutely, the Central Bank discourages the citizens of Sudan from using crypto.

I know Bitcoin can do what fiat cannot do as we saw in Ukraine when the banking sector was affected and people donated with Bitcoin to Ukraine. I just hope that such kind gestures will be given to the people of Sudan because they need help.

Manchester City are trying to defend their title while eying to get their first star in Champions League. They have hard moments in both competitions but at least they got back their first spot in EPL.
Newcastle and Manchester United are securing their third and fourth place in EPL while Liverpool is trying to approach them by intimidating Spurs. Poor Tottenham received 3 goals in 15 minutes of the game before getting the draw in extra time of the second half and Liverpool just ruined their fun by scoring a goal 1 minute after.
It will be difficult for any team to win Manchester City again in the Premier League because the team has become so coordinated and solid. Football is not predictable but with the performance of this club and the quality of their players, they will win the league. Arsenal will have themselves to blame for losing so many points towards the end of the season. Tottenham played good football against Liverpool, they had about three attempts that were denied by the crossbar. Liverpool was just lucky to win that game because Tottenham deserved that winning. The club has quality players but the coaching crisis they are having is hunting them and if they continue losing they might lose the champions league opportunity. Newcastle was a team that nobody expected will become outstanding this season but with the club's new ownership and a good coaching crew, they have been able to prove many critics wrong. The club may be in the champions league next season.
