1641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 17, 2023, 09:26:25 PM
Bitcoin right now probably can't make you rich, but it can help give a good boost to your net worth — obviously due to price appreciation, and depreciation of fiat currencies.

Bitcoin isn't a get rich quick scheme, it's a not-get-poorer scheme.

Well, I believe that Bitcoin can still make many people rich who are into the field of trading because the volatility of Bitcoin is still better than many stocks and the ones who are good at Bitcoin trading can still earn substantial amount of income from it. But, I agree that anyone who still buys Bitcoin and hold it for 2-4 years may not get rich because the price won't grow as crazily as it used to grow.
1642  Other / Meta / Re: how to know how many members have badges? on: November 17, 2023, 09:21:26 PM
I missed the most important member of the forum: @satoshi,
I think he needs an unique badge then any other profile, like the shiny coins are different.

That's the most important thing you have missed but no problem now you added Satoshi into the list and now the list is almost complete. By the way, this is a very good thread for the ones who want to know about the members with unique badges and titles.
Oh well.  I don't recognize the usernames of many of the members whose avatars are shown on the first page of this thread, and I'll bet a lot of them are OGs who took their bitcoin wealth and are now sipping on some kind of drink with an umbrella sticking out of it whilst basking in the warm sun on a private island.

Yep, that's one hell of an assumption but I like to assume big when I think about the early members of the forum.   Cheesy
Yeah, I think your assumption is to the point and I also think that most of the members on the first page of the thread are the OGs who are truly happy with the wealth that they have acquired because of Bitcoin and surely they might be having very enjoyable life in places where they can fulfill their desires and enjoy their life.

But, I also think that some of them might have spent their complete wealth on material pleasures and now they might be struggling once again. As humans when we see a lot of wealth for first time we waste most of it in unnecessary things and unfortunately we can't have that wealth again in our life.

1643  Other / Meta / Re: Tag a user to update their broken image links on: November 17, 2023, 09:08:08 PM
It's a great thread which can be very helpful for the all members of the forum and especially for the OP's who have created their posts and added that imgur embedded images which doesn't work anymore.

I have been thinking about this problem for sometime and I believe it needs to be tackled down. A great initiative by @Pmalek and I must tag and mention @Hhampuz so he can fix the broken images in his threads. Most of the old threads of @Hhampuz has broken images which need to be fixed and I believe after seeing this post he'll fix his threads.
1644  Other / Meta / Re: Should Merit-Sources use feelings when giving out Merit? on: November 16, 2023, 12:55:14 PM
I do not believe that. When I learn something new from someone, my instinct is to do something good for them, If I have merits I will give them if they helped me.
this is a forum we can be disappointed by someone but cannot become an enemy of them.

How do you know? You've just signed up last month and never send any merit.

Naturally, I can't send merit to the member I ignore, but as part of my duty here, I have ignored only a few extremely annoying people so far. If a message is of good quality, I send merit regardless of who wrote it. Just because I appreciate it doesn't mean that I agree with the content of that message. Merit has no such meaning of approval. Some people use it as like button but this isn't the right way to use merit.

Well, that's a quite good answer because a merit source should merit the posts that deserve to get merits and he/she should not care about the members who made those posts. Sometimes it's always good to merit the posts of the members who are contributing a lot to the forum because that way they get encouraged and they try their best to contribute even more good stuff to the forum.

A merit source should try his/her best to add only a few annoying members in his/her ignore list because merit distribution starts from the merit sources and if they continue to add as many people in their ignore list as they like then that would not be a good thing for the ones who may deserve to get some merits.

I personally don't add anyone into my ignore list because I believe that if we can avoid someone then we don't really need to add that person into the ignore list, however some people really don't want to see the posts of some particular users and that's the reason they add those users into their ignore list. It's a good practice to send merit to the posts that deserve the merits even if you don't agree with the content because if those posts deserve to get merits then it's good to send those some merits.
1645  Economy / Services / Re: Graphics Designer / Video Editor Service on: November 16, 2023, 12:46:53 PM
Yes, I agree with @lucifur, you must show some of the work that you have done in your thread so people who are interested in your service may want to hire you for their work. Without samples it would be difficult for others to see that how good is your service and that's why you won't get any clients.

It's always better to show your previous work when you create a thread like this because clients always want to have the best service and they can't decide the best one without seeing the samples of the work the user has already done.
1646  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 16, 2023, 01:29:16 AM
I highly agree with OP and I also believe that one should avoid in person trading at any cost. Although, Binance as added it as a way to trade with people who belong to same location where you live but such approach if very risky especially for those area where crime rate is high.

I think it's way better to go with the traditional p2p route where someone can send money to someone else via a bank account or digital bank payments as that one is quite good as compare to in person trading. There should be a caution that "In person trading is a risky thing and one should avoid it at any cost."

P2p trading on Binance is safe for most people who live in areas where crime rate is low, and even in countries where crime rate is higher people can still do online p2p trading without much worries. However, cash trading is quite risky and can be very harmful for the ones who blindly go with that route of trading.
1647  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 16, 2023, 01:19:07 AM
No, I don't think that it's going to be helpful for newbies to purchase Bitcoin without properly learning about it and it's wallets. Most of the newbies purchase Bitcoin directly from exchanges and they don't really know much about custodial wallets and save their Bitcoin on those exchanges wallets.

They don't know that they are not truly the owner of the Bitcoin that they hold in those exchanges because not your keys not your coins is something they aren't aware of properly. It's always better for such people to learn about Bitcoin, personal Bitcoin wallets, saving of private keys and seed phrases, system security if they are going to hold their Bitcoin in software wallets, and some other things before purchasing any Bitcoin.

Once they acquire that necessary knowledge about Bitcoin then they can begin with a short amount of investment into Bitcoin like $20-$50 to learn about personal wallets and the safety of their coins, when they learn those wallets software and safety of their coins then they can invest more into Bitcoin and most probably go with a cold wallet instead of hot wallet.
1648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 16, 2023, 01:00:41 AM
If someone is not interested in buying Bitcoin even after learning about it then it's far better to let that person do whatever he/she wants to do because we can't force someone to invest in Bitcoin as it's someone own choice whether to go with Bitcoin or not.

Your friend will surely regret about his decisions during the next ATH because he will think that why he didn't invested in it. Just allow him to do whatever he likes to do, don't force him to invest in Bitcoin.
1649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 15, 2023, 10:14:19 PM
Those people are everywhere in fact they have came up with same fake made up stories on this forum many times where they claimed that they have lost their Bitcoin wallet or they can't recover their Bitcoin wallet which they have made during 2011 or some past dates when mining of Bitcoin was easy and any miner could get Bitcoin easily by mining it. Many people of the forum tried to help them because you know guys at our forum are very helpful. Fortunately everyone who's part of this forum is well aware of such scammers and that's why I always recommend everyone to register at this forum and read some threads here before starting their Bitcoin journey.

Now, the worst they can do is to use same stories on social media sites and with their other alt accounts they pretend to be the experts of Bitcoin recovery. I think it's better to promote awareness against such users and I think you have made a good thread by sharing awareness against such scammers. Only education and awareness can help someone to be protected from such scammers.

I have even seen some recovery guys who promoted their services via social media sites like YouTube, they pretended to be the gurus of Bitcoin recovery and they made videos in so entertaining ways that many people might have trusted them with their own lost Bitcoin recovery after watching those videos. I believe we all as a community have to promote awareness against such people because the users who trust such people might end up loosing their last hope of recovering their lost Bitcoin.
1650  Other / Meta / Re: HOW LONG HAS YOUR ACCOUNT BEEN REGISTERED ON BITCOINTALK? on: November 15, 2023, 04:45:29 PM
Thanks for your opinion, and you are right. But I just wanna know how someone know about Bitcoin and This Forum. Regarding to the Contribution, I think someone has right and business outside the internet, so in some reasons they just have account inactive for years.

Although, your thread isn't necessary at all but still you want to know that how we came to this forum and started learning about Bitcoin then here you go. I visited this forum in 2016 and before that I didn't know anything about Bitcoin but when I registered my account on this forum, I started my journey of learning about Bitcoin and I have learnt almost everything about Bitcoin from this forum. I read the white paper of Bitcoin to get the concept behind creation of it and surely that helped me a lot.

The learning about Bitcoin started from this forum but after that I learnt some good information about Bitcoin from books, YouTube videos, and also from trading. Bitcointalk forum has been a life changer for me because after registering into this forum I gained a lot of skills that are helping me even till this day.

I'm still learning a lot about Bitcoin from the reputed members of the forum who make very good and informative posts about Bitcoin, and at the same time I'm sharing my knowledge and understanding about Bitcoin as a contribution to this forum. I must say that this forum has taught me a lot of things about economics and trading that many people can't even learn in universities. This forum is the best place for anyone who want to learn about Bitcoin and crypto-market. Surely, I won't be able to tell you everything about my journey in this post but I hope it will be helpful for you.
1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inquiry about FortuneJack - KYC and Withdrawals on: November 15, 2023, 05:16:44 AM
~Snip~
Have I been scammed?

No, you haven't been scammed because Fortune Jack has been active on this forum for long time and their representatives always solves the problems that arise to the users of the site. I hope that you'll also get your solution very soon, but I must say that KYC in initial days is way better then doing KYC for withdrawal purpose because most of the casinos check so many factors before completing the KYC of the users who have deposited money and now they want to withdraw the winnings.

1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is King on: November 14, 2023, 11:48:03 PM
Bitcoin is the king of the crypto-market without any doubt because it's the first crypto-coin which was developed by someone who isn't personally known by anyone. The genius Satoshi Nakamoto worked a lot and finally created Bitcoin and after creating it he left this forum when things were okay for Bitcoin and handle it into the hands of the developers who further improved Bitcoin.

I know that there are still those skeptical people who promote fake news about Bitcoin and they don't really know a lot about the crypto market and its king Bitcoin, and that's why due to their arrogance they promote such false things. Bitcoin is the best asset anyone can have and surely the ones who know about it fully will hold it for as long as possible and when it grows to huge values then they can sell it and enjoy rest of their life with financial freedom.

We all know that Bitcoin is the king of the crypto world but we really don't know whom to consider it's queen? Let's say after Bitcoin Ethereum has shown potential growth over the past few years and in that sense we may call it the queen of Bitcoin just for fun. But, still the king is, it was, and it will always be the one and only Bitcoin.
1653  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 11:34:44 PM
That can happen to anyone who uses centralized exchanges and surely there is a lot of risk for the ones who use centralized exchanges to store their crypto-currencies. I believe that someone from the internal team might have leaked the data of those executive clients to the robbers, scammers, hackers, and then they have made their proper plans of kidnapping those clients and steal their crypto-currency.

I believe CZ has taken a good step to secure most of the funds of the clients and surely by sharing this he got some free marketing and fame for Binance. It's a good story for us to be careful that letting a lot of your money into a centralized exchange can be risky for your well-being and even letting others know about your crypto portfolio can be a risky thing.
1654  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top Halloween Online Casino Bonus or Promo on: November 13, 2023, 10:14:23 PM
Wether Halloween or any other form of events that is mostly identified for celebration, what the gamblers want is bonus opportunities, they don't mind about the terms and conditions that may follows up but the truth is that they are after having something that will come in form of a bonus irrespective of the season and this is one of the most exciting reasons why the gambling organizations also take such periods of time to launch their own marketing at the cause as well while giving to the gamblers.

You're right the gamblers only want to have the bonuses and they really don't care about any of those events other than grabbing those bonuses. Most of the casinos know that and that's why they offer bonuses during such events because they're sure that many players would love to avail those bonuses and for that they'll deposit money into the casinos.

The ones who are after the bonuses don't really care much about the T&C and the wagering requirements and that's why most of them fail to reach the wagering requirements and lose their deposits. If I'm not wrong then such events give casinos win-win situations because most of the players won't be able to fulfil the requirements and they'll lose their money.

But, I'm quite sure that some casinos offer good bonuses with less strict T&C and the also don't have very high wagering requirements. Those casinos may be very few but surely they exist and a few players can easily reach low wagering requiems and they can earn good profits during such events.
1655  Economy / Gambling / Re: l0tt0.com on: November 13, 2023, 10:08:01 PM
For such things Monero may work better as users can play without any KYC or centralization burden. I also think that lowering of bet is going to be a good thing for players also for the site.
He already lowered minimum bet and I dont think it makes much sense to lower it even more than it is now, that is $0.10.
Adding monero is not bad but suggestion I dont know how many people would be using it on l0tt0 website, he needs to run another node and do additional work for all that.

Well, the lowered minimum bet is surely reduced from the way it was when L0tt0 was initially launched but some players prefer to have even lower bets and that's why I suggested to do it if needed. Of course final decision is on Dewez that whether he reduces it further or not.

Monero is quite good and many players will use it mostly in times when Bitcoin's network is highly congested. During normal network I'm pretty sure that most people will prefer Bitcoin over Monero, but as additional privacy coin Monero works like a charm. Well, I agree with you that additional work is needed to add Monero but surely the results will be rewarding.

In fact I think an altcoin like Monero will also be a good secondary payment solution for the site. As far as I know the OP loves to have a system which works without any KYC restrictions.

I second that Monero would be a suitable addition. I'm not sure what dewez thinks about that.

But no harm having LN too, I think.

Yeah, Monero is quite good but surely LN and Monero both can be implemented in future. As always the final decision will be taken by Dewez, but I'm pretty sure that Monero and LN will make deposits and withdrawals better then the way they are right now. And, especially in the times of network congestion the alternatives will be a good choice of deposit and withdrawals for the players.

1656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 13, 2023, 08:52:58 PM
To be honest, Satoshi created Bitcoin in intention to get rid of centralized system or at least make a new space where a group of people can send money from one to other without involvement of any third party. His main intention was to create a currency that anyone can use and transfer via p2p route, and surely Satoshi got success with his innovation.

But, later on investors found it a good investment due to its 21 million supply limit and that's why they started accumulating Bitcoin and holding it for longer terms in order to have better returns with their investment. Due to the creative thinking of Satoshi and the investors, Bitcoin has now become a currency as well as an asset which people can invest in and get profits if they hold their investment.

One of the initial testers or you can say inner members of the initial team behind Bitcoin was late Hal Finney(RIP) who speculated that Bitcoin can grow in price and maybe in future a single Bitcoin may reach $10M in value. If we keep those views in picture then surely from the initial days people were sure that Bitcoin can grow in value and it can cross $10k or beyond.

1658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 12, 2023, 10:54:33 PM
A nice Winter Weekend while Bitcoin is up.

Ah, you're enjoying to fully buddy! Really it's an amazing time for you, for me, and for the ones who love to see the growth of Bitcoin. I still firmly believe that Bitcoin will reach $50k in 2023 and surely it had it get some more good pumps to reach that value.
1659  Other / Meta / Re: So I had a person send me a pm to beg for merits. on: November 12, 2023, 07:53:55 PM
The person did not offer money. They just asked for some free merit.

So a how to report this?

Am I required to report it?

If that person asked you to review his/her posts then that's okay because you can review his/her posts and if they aren't merit worthy then tell him/her directly that his/her posts aren't good enough to receive any merits from you. I don't think that it would make anything good by reporting a person like that who's asking for merits as we know everyone wants to grow their account to max level which is legendary and some newbies who aren't good at posting often make such PM's to get some free merits.

@The Sceptical Chymist offered his post history thread to the members who contribute good information on forum and I'm quite sure he might get so many PM's because of that offer. The legit members who made good contribution on forum might have received some merits from him while the ones with low-quality to no-quality posts didn't quality to get any merits from him.

I recommend you to ignore that message and don't report it but still you want to report that member for merit begging then report that member to a moderator or make a thread in reputation board and share details of the PM with others. But, still I think it's way better to avoid those PM's or those members who ask for merits rather then reporting them.
1660  Other / Meta / Re: its so boring on: November 12, 2023, 07:44:15 PM
seriously, besides the hype its just lactose

lots of random words i dont understand and nothing cool hhappening unless i trust the top posters and get scammed into a new pyramid build

To be serious I don't see any hype but reality and if you're talking about Bitcoin's price and its values then you should learn about it first before calling it hype or something like that. However, if you're talking about something else then you need is to make another post in which you describe that thing in detail. Your current post lacks information and with such limited information no one will be able to know what you're trying to say.

I really can't comprehend that which words you're claiming as random if it's about seed words of a wallet then that makes sense but still I can't understand your post because it lacks information and the questions or the opinion you're trying to share with us isn't clear. Has any poster done something wrong with you? If yes, then you should mention that in detail.
