16421  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Abortion on: December 30, 2017, 05:32:24 AM
How about if a woman gets raped and ends up pregnant, should she get an abortion? Life is more strange than you can imagine.

I don't think even the most die hard pro-life leaders will insist on the women keeping the fetus, in such cases. If anyone has the courage to ask for that, then he deserves to be locked up in some mental institution for the rest of his life. But I want the women the freedom to chose in other instances as well. You guys like it or not, child bearing is the responsibility of the mother, and the father contributes only a small part in that.
16422  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How to solve world hunger ? on: December 30, 2017, 05:28:27 AM
More attention should go into agriculture. All nations should make agriculture a priority and lucrative so that most people can go into it and grow more foods to help feed the world

If everyone concentrates on agriculture, then there will be a shortage of manpower in the other sectors such as education and banking. Already the vast majority of the population in various third world nations are engaged in agriculture or related activity. Increasing that proportion will be detrimental to the economic development of the country.
16423  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: why bitcoin illegal in asia? on: December 29, 2017, 11:50:06 AM
I think, because the government is too worried when bitcoin is used as money laundering, terrorist financing, drug deals and other crimes. I think it is normal that the government is worried about it. And maybe for that reason, bitcoin is illegal in asia.

The main concern is with tax evasion, hiding of wealth and money laundering. They are not much concerned about the usage for drug trade as the vast majority of the drug trade in Asia uses fiat cash as a medium of payment. For countries such as India and China, the major concern is tax evasion as high tax rates have fueled large-scale capital flight from these nations.
16424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin is better than other coins? on: December 29, 2017, 11:47:37 AM
One of the advantages is that fiat vs BTC option is available in all of the exchanges. For most of the other coins (with the exception of established alts such as ETH, XRP, LTC and BCH), there is no option of trading them directly against fiat. If you need to convert them to fiat, then you need to convert them to BTC first and then convert this BTC to fiat.
16425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is better than Cash. on: December 29, 2017, 11:45:45 AM
Moreover there's always tax benefit unless it is legalized in your country.

I don't understand this.

There is no tax benefit, if Bitcoin is not legal in your country. In case the usage of Bitcoin is not legal, then the profits from BTC investment will be treated like regular income and you may need to pay full income tax over it. On the other hand, if Bitcoin is recognized as a legal asset, then you can get away with paying capital gains tax.
16426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too late to invest in cryptos if you're old? on: December 29, 2017, 11:43:41 AM
The age doesn't matter much. In fact, I would say that Bitcoin suits the elderly better, since it is more suitable for short-term and medium-term investment. On the other hand, if you invest in assets such as gold or platinum, then you may need to wait for 10 or 20 years to get proper returns. Such investments may not be suitable for old people.
16427  Other / Politics & Society / Re: They're planning a Universal Basic Income. on: December 29, 2017, 11:41:14 AM
Universal basic income would be a good thing, allowing everybody to have the strictly necessary without too much sufference.

It is not a bad idea, if not misused. If the people are receiving Universal Basic Income, then there must be some condition that they should do a fixed duration of social service of volunteering every week. Or it must be made mandatory that they should serve in the army for a short while. Else, the people will sit at home and refuse to do any work.
16428  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War on: December 29, 2017, 11:37:32 AM
All we can do is to pray for war to stop in some countries , because war may cause people to suffer , most especially the innocents one. War will destroy countries that are involve. Many people will die if war cannot be stop. It is important to the world to have peace for the next generations to live into.

The humans have been fighting each other even before they evolved out of the apes many tens of thousand of years ago. Back then, most of the fighting was to control the natural resources and hunting grounds. Even now, many of the battles are being fought over territorial disputes. An example is the dispute in the South China Sea.
16429  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Population on: December 29, 2017, 11:33:24 AM
It think to have a population regulation in each family. To limit the family to have a 5-6 members in a family. To impuse the family planning in every country. I think it will help the population to maintain its capacity to provide every man.

5-6 members in a family means 3-4 children per couple. And I think that it is too much, as only 2 children are needed for a stable population. My opinion is that the couples should be limited to 1 child each, as the world is already over-populated and we need to reduce the population without any delay. we should be aiming something like a population of 2 billion by AD 2100.
16430  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Women empowerment? on: December 29, 2017, 11:29:46 AM
Copy/paste

Yeah. Here:

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/miscellaneous/women-empowerment/articleshow/56019792.cms

BTW, what is the point in "empowering" women. I am a female myself and I can't understand this concept. Does that mean that we don't have any power right now? What I want is equality and respect. And in my opinion, more than 99% of the males respect the women and treat them with dignity. IMO, there is no need for any "empowerment".

Totally agree with you, what we need is respect and equality, no "empowerment" or such things. It can easily lead and misunderstood badly and generate new problems

Yes. That was what I was talking about. What we need to do is to eliminate any discrimination or harassment based on the gender. On the other hand, what some of these feminists want is to establish their supremacy over men. This will be counterproductive and the biggest victims are going to be the females (irrespective of their political ideology) themselves.
16431  Other / Off-topic / Re: Racism on: December 29, 2017, 11:24:55 AM
Come meet Brazil. The paradise of racial mixing.
I'm Brazilian Brown.

thanks,

Brazil is the same country where the native population is treated like subhumans even today. The government recently opened Indian reservations to mining activity and is happy with isolated indigenous ethnic groups getting massacred by the garimpeiros (gold miners). It may be the capital of race mixing, but it is also the land of deforestation and genocide.

You are wrong about Brazil.

Peace,
Brazil

Brazil is a good country and the people are very friendly. I would agree with that. Even some of my friends who visited Brazil recently told me the same about that country. But this is what I am talking about:

16432  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is every country really corrupt? on: December 29, 2017, 11:07:45 AM
But there are countries much less corrupt such as Finland, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden.

These countries are not corrupt because the people have very less tolerance for corruption. So the politicians never dare to take bribes or accept commissions. On the other hand, in countries such as Bangladesh, India and Egypt, the corrupt politicians are tolerated and even protected by their respective ethnic or caste groups.
16433  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Biggest Problem of your Country ?? on: December 29, 2017, 11:03:48 AM
Awful mentality.

Wow.... are you living in India? Because I am an Indian resident and I have to say that the people have a very bad attitude here. No one is ready to obey the laws and anyone obeying them is immediately ridiculed. Corruption is so widespread and everyone is OK with it. Here the people almost never use words such as "Please" or "Thanks". If you use them during the conversation, then you will be a subject of ridicule.
16434  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is the common cause of poverty? on: December 29, 2017, 11:01:10 AM
Lack of resources. People or nations with some natural resources could eliminate poverty. Middle East countries which are previously considered as desert countries are now some of the richest nations. This is due to the availability of petroleum resources by which they could generate massive income by exports.

And once the demand for petroleum ends, these countries will go back to the stone age. The middle-eastern countries have not used the petro-dollars wisely. They have a rapidly growing population, and they have failed to either diversify their economy or to educate their population. The Saudis are having a program of sending their graduates to American colleges. But this program has been a failure so far.
16435  Other / Politics & Society / Re: World's smartest ethnic group on: December 29, 2017, 10:58:15 AM
Which group is the world's most smart ethnic group? I guess it is Jews.
Any different thought on this?

If you look at the IQ levels, then it got to be some of the East Asian ethnic groups. Most probably either the Japanese or the Koreans. And technology-wise, the Japanese are the best. Earlier the Germans used to give them tough competition, but the quality of the German products have gone down over the years. The Japs still maintain their quality.
16436  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump is better than Obama? on: December 29, 2017, 10:55:38 AM
I think Obama is much better than Trump. Because, when he was in office of the president, the country was in good hands. Trump somehow does not inspire confidence in his actions. Obama was probably one of the best presidents in history in my opinion.

In "good hands"? What do you even mean by that? During Obama's term, the federal debt almost increased by $10 trillion. And you have the courage to call that guy as one of the best presidents in history? During his term, the Americans were a laughing stock in the world politics. Their foreign policy in the middle-east was dictated by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
16437  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How can terrorism be stopped on: December 29, 2017, 10:53:42 AM
Terrorism can't be stopped but it can be reduced when we stop supporting the dictators who fund terrorists, stop arming terrorists.

In that case, first you need to stop supporting Trump and the rest of the American officials. Because no one in the world has given support for so many terrorist organizations as did the Americans. If you remember, it was the CIA which created the Taliban in 1979, to fight the Soviet forces in Afghanistan. And at least during the initial stages, they supported the ISIS in Syria.
16438  Other / Off-topic / Re: Porn is creating transgenders on: December 29, 2017, 10:51:22 AM
Not all people who watch massive amount of pornography become transgenders. There are also a lot of people in frustrated countries like Iraq, Syria, Egypt, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh who haven't had sex in their lives so they watch a lot of porn. This doesn't mean that they are going to be transgenders. If you google which country watches more porn, I am sure Pakistan will come on top. I don't know why but people must be really frustrated there.

In countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan, almost the entire male population is bisexual. In fact, the older men are said to prefer younger boys above women and girls. There is even a saying in that part of the world, which goes like this: "women are for child-bearing, boys are for fun". And this is quite accepted by the society, as boys without a beard are considered to be female.
16439  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Abortion on: December 29, 2017, 10:46:29 AM
I am anti abortion.God gives us life and we should live according to this law abortion is same as murder.

You can't treat abortion as the same as murder. A fetus doesn't have a life of its own. Its life is dependent on the support it gets from its mother, through the umbilical cord. If the support is cut, then the fetus will die. So it is up to the mother to decide whether she want to keep the fetus or not. However, the father also must be consulted with the final decision.
16440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Banks Against Bitcoin! on: December 29, 2017, 10:43:18 AM
I am much worried about the rise of Ripple (XRP). It is one of the few crypto-currencies, which enjoy the backing of the banks. And its value has risen manifold during the past few months. It is about to overtake Ethereum in market cap, as currently the market cap of XRP ($67 billion) is only marginally behind that of ETH ($71 billion).
