16481  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: January 10, 2016, 03:20:58 AM

Is it true that an ambulance is only 75.00 out of pocket in Canada?
Only?!?

The American heath system sucks. Especially emergency services. A simple ambulance ride could cost well over a thousand dollars out of pocket if your insurance coverage sucks. Many Americans opt for high deductible plans and get bent over.
If you get state assistance (insurance), you never have to worry about paying for anything.  Our system rewards laziness big time.  I have private insurance but I wouldn't have to pay for an ambulance.  That's included.

So how's Cryptsy doing?  I saw another topic started where the guy was just noticing that things went kablooey over there.
16482  Other / Archival / Re: Ex-Employee of Coinsetter, New York Bitcoin Exchange Wishes To Sell Common Stock on: January 10, 2016, 03:17:37 AM
Why doesn't that stock certificate look right to me?  I've owned modern certificates and they look nothing like that.  I'm not suggesting anything by this, I'm just thinking out loud.

How much per share?  I don't know anything about Coinsetter.  How would you transfer the stock?

Edit:  looks like OP deleted his post.
16483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Books on: January 10, 2016, 02:09:50 AM
I thought that the alternative would be single book with 2 pages per coin? You changed that along the lines?

Can you share some of the stuff that is explained in there? Most of the stuff should be easy to find in the OP of the relevant coins.
Since OP hasn't put a link up I haven't checked out Amazon yet, but am I to understand that each book is 2 pages long and sells for 5.99?  I think that's a bit much if that's true.  As far as writing about these particular coins, I don't think it's a bad idea but I can't imagine there's a whole lot to write about at this point.  But I could be wrong.  I'll check it out on Amazon.

Might it not be better to write one book with chapters on each individual coin?  NorrisK has also suggested this and I think it's a good idea.
16484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Doge market cap - how long to 1.5B? on: January 09, 2016, 09:17:23 PM
Man, I don't know.  As much as I like DOGE I can't see the price jumping 100-fold anytime soon.  And maybe not even by 2020--if it still exists then.  I'm not sure what's behind the recent price rise, but I think it's going to be short-lived.  I hope not, but I'm not very optimistic.
16485  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.03 loan on: January 09, 2016, 09:15:06 PM
Nevertheless you'll have to resolve that, with proof, before you're likely to get a loan here.  Too much scumbaggery going around these days to take chances.  Especially with your loan request being no-collateral.  You might want to reconsider that part.
16486  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Stock Markets AROUND THE WORLD are crashing .... What will BTC do? on: January 09, 2016, 08:35:53 PM
Goddamn it!!!  Every time the markets crash I'm stuck without cash to buy any stocks with.  I think I'm going to start putting some aside and stop buying bitcoin for a while, because I suspect the stock market is going to drop a lot more before we see the end of this.  It was down again today, and if this keeps going we're going to have a bleak 2016--but stocks will be cheaper!

Don't know about bitcoin, though.  Has anyone actually done any econometrics with it, e.g., figured out how it moves with relation to the stock market or bond market or any others?  I'd be very curious.

Why would you buy stocks when they are crashing? Way to catch a falling knife to be honest. It's just best to stay all in on Bitcoin, what tells you that when you buy those stocks which looks like a good buy, they will not continue falling?

Now DOW futures are up triple digits and the Hang Seng is recovering.  Impossible to predict this.
It is pretty damn near impossible, and that's why so many people lose money.  Look at how many folks around this forum predict where bitcoin is going with absolute certainty.  And that certainty is an illusion.

As far as the stock market goes, we had a little itty bitty correction.  I think there will be more to come, but I can't say for sure.   Wink
16487  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Exchange cryptsy dies? on: January 09, 2016, 08:15:13 PM
OP check out the recent threads here about Cryptsy, you'll see that this has been in the making for quite a while now. One of the threads is in the scam accusation section.
16488  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Borrower Atomicat late repayment of 0.03 btc due on 07 january - DO NOT LEND! on: January 09, 2016, 07:55:23 PM
Well, he's very close to being a hero member so I don't think he's going to abandon his account because of this.  So that means that even though you denied the extension, he probably couldn't pay it before the deadline and that he probably still will.

I just made my first loan the other day and it was also without collateral and to a senior member.  Fortunately he did right by me, but then that dude who's sticking up for Muhammed Zukir was asking for a loan with no collateral and I had to refuse him.  I just don't trust people around here.  We learn (hopefully) from our mistakes.
16489  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's your investment portfolio ? on: January 09, 2016, 07:50:41 PM
15% gold
15% stock
30% silver
20% real estate
10% fiat
8% altcoin
2% bitcoin

Yes I still have bitcoin in my portfolio. All the problems bitcoin have can still be solved, it doesn't look like it's going to be solved or even worked on, but who knows.

@outofmind
I don't think you're a good investor if you think the price will go up because of the halving.... check amazon for Economics 101 for dummies.
Jesus Christ, that's a geriatric portfolio.  I hope you're living in a retirement home.

OP, you are a smart young man for planning your financial future, and it sounds like you're not going to be stupid with your money.  My advice would be for you not to blow it on shit that typical 20 year olds do--partying and so forth.  But if you do I still wouldn't blame you.

I've always been a stock market guy, and I'd tell you to put your money there but now's probably a good time to be holding cash.  I think we're in for a correction or crash sometime soon.  Be careful with bitcoin.  It's totally new and its future is very uncertain.  And good luck to you.
16490  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: January 09, 2016, 07:44:20 PM
I'm glad to see Master-P is paying back at least some of what he scammed.  I'm not sure what his plan was from the get go, but this looks like a longish-term no-interest loan which he had no business making.
16491  Economy / Lending / Re: [URGENT] Need 0.2 BTC Loan... on: January 09, 2016, 04:02:49 AM
Got your PM, but as I said I wouldn't give out a loan of this size without good collateral, and I wouldn't even want your account.  The interest you're offering is fine I think, but it's a risky loan.
16492  Economy / Lending / Re: [URGENT] Need 0.2 BTC Loan... on: January 09, 2016, 02:52:08 AM
I see you're still using "ain't" so I'd assume you didn't sell the account.

However, this is bitcointalk and after the Master-P scandal, I don't think you're going to get many people willing to give out bitcoin just on reputation alone.  I would probably do it with collateral, meaning altcoins.
16493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: idea of creating a bitcoin carnival. on: January 09, 2016, 01:51:08 AM
What a great idea!

So where would this fantastic festival be located? I hope I can make it...I'd easily pay $10-20.

L3X 0H8, not too far from where master-P is located in Aurora, Ontario, CA. L3X 0H8 was gleaned from one of lottery248's posts which have power supplies for sale, just like what master-P used to sell. Yes, lottery248 has distanced himself away from master-P, just like some of 100%-proven master-P sockpuppets have distanced themselves from Alex.
That would be one hell of a drive for me, but I think I'd come up there just for the drama.  And fried dough.  A good carnival must have fried dough.
16494  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: January 09, 2016, 01:47:15 AM
Diversify your assets, my man.  30 btc is a lot, but I definitely wouldn't keep everything you own in btc.  Gold is probably a good short-term bet, but I'd say look at the stock market too.  We're due for a correction, and you can probably scoop up some cheap stocks.  I think 15 btc is good to keep.
16495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looking For Altcoin Community to Join on: January 09, 2016, 01:44:41 AM
How about the dogecoin community?  It's pretty solid, I think and it's definitely active.  At least on Reddit and I think they have their own forum.  I say this because the "shibes" seem to be friendly and they're genuinely trying to make their coin work.  Good luck, sir.
16496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I believe BTC will continue going up on: January 09, 2016, 01:39:30 AM

What do you think?

UP, we're in a bullmarket and halving starts in < half year.

We will reach ATH before halving Cool
End of the year we will reach 2-3K

This is gentlemen.
OK bro, I do hope you're right.  I'm not so sure that the halvening is going to affect the price all that much, unless speculators drive the price up in anticipation.  I mean, it's not news that it's going to happen, so I think it's already been priced in.  We'll see.
16497  Other / Meta / Re: Let me Know: Is possible to use more account for signature campaign on: January 09, 2016, 01:25:19 AM
Woow, 0,12 BTC per week are really good! But what do you think about using more than one account for signature?

1. If you are willing to use more then one account in the "same" signature campaign then this is up to the rules of the campaigns , if it's against them , then you are not allowed to do that .

2. If you mean each account in different signature campaign then this is not against rules of the forum as far as I know , however mostly your posts will be not constructive since you are just looking for the money ,a nd they will be spammy , and eventually you will get banned ... If it's not the case then it's fine.

Remember : posts don't need to be long or anything , they just need to be constructive .

Thank you. This is really a good reply.
Hmmm, I did not know one could participate in multiple signature campaigns.  I think it's possible to post a lot and be constructive, but you'd have to devote quite a bit of time to doing that.  I sometimes find it hard to find threads I want to share in.  A lot of them are just complete BS.  But OP, good luck.
16498  Economy / Speculation / Re: upside pressure at 450-470 building on: January 09, 2016, 12:30:12 AM
The bitcoin price is just fluctuating, fellas.  I don't know how anyone can say with certainty that we're stuck at 450 or whatever.  It's just random movements.
16499  Economy / Economics / Re: Comparing world's money and markets on: January 09, 2016, 12:26:12 AM
Bitcoin:  a mole on the ass of the flee on the ass of the elephant of derivatives.
Well-said.  And it's not surprising that derivatives are as big as this.  Long Term Capital Management was brought down by their super-sized leveraged derivatives in 1998 and it almost crashed financial markets around the world.  Crazy.
16500  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Favorite Faucet on: January 09, 2016, 12:24:03 AM
Moonbit.co.in is my all-time favorite and it's pretty much the only one I still use on a regular basis.  They've also got dogecoin and litecoin faucets as well.  I do some of the Faucetbox faucets as well, but a lot of them are very advertising-heavy.
