16501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 19, 2017, 05:42:50 PM
upcoming matches seems so interesting for me that there will be big match available between Arsenal vs Liverpool and both of teams indeed had good results from the previous match but if Arsenal able to win then possibly they will taking over Liverpool position and back to top 4

That's the match I'm looking forward to also, though also looking ahead to the 3rd round FA cup derby also a chance for the red side of Mersey to avenge the dropped points. I have a feeling Wenger will adjust tactics a little, so nothing suggests a repeat of the previous drubbing, but then Liverpool have been seducing games away from home. Fewer nerves hopefully will lead to at least 2 goals.

Ah, can't wait for the game. Both teams are playing nice attacking football and as a consequence scoring and receiving a lot of goals. I will bet over 2.5 goals or both to score, whichever has the better odds and enjoy the game. And good thing the game is on Friday night so I can watch it in peace after putting the kid to sleep.

I'm going a bit the same except with a straight bet Liverpool, ML is quite attractive at 3.0x they can either win 2-0 or 3-1. Just making the allowance for a narrower scoreline since it is Emirates after all. Whatever the outcome, it's going to be a nice start to a weekend I'm expecting to be hectic (my kids want an outing brr!).
16502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another big name quits BTC, Co-founder bitcoin.com sells all bitcoin on: December 19, 2017, 05:14:38 PM
Give me useability at its limit any day of the week over zero usability. Any project, any coin, would simply give everything to even have half the usability of Bitcoin, let alone a max limit.

Co-founder may have sold all his bitcoins but if I owned as much as that guy, I'd always be considering selling it all off some day to retire and enjoy many years of health and youth. After all, with all that forking (Cash, Gold) and airdropping (GBYTE, Lumens), he should have at least 20% of his total Bitcoin networth in alts, if not more.

Besides, you need to shill your coin better than this. Don't give a bad name to actual Dutch coin experts.
16503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: December 19, 2017, 01:09:58 PM
Oh damn, damn, damn. Why did Everton get 2 penalties? Damn Big Sam. My 2-1 looked so sweet right until the 7th minute, or I'd have 100 points as well haha. But well done, @hilarious, first Bastard of the Week to win the small prize, right? So hard to make ground on the top 5, keep slipping up every week. Not doing any better in my actual betting either.

@tokeweed, you didn't get even 10 points, surely you backed at least one of the big teams to win? Maybe I'll do that for next week: bet a draw or loss for all the top 6 (Except Liverpool haha) and snag maybe a nice fat lump of points if they all suffer from Turkey hangover. But you're leading by 40 points for our sidebet of $10, so that should keep you happy this Christmas.
16504  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin was centralized? on: December 19, 2017, 11:35:17 AM
The first decentralized currency is soon to implement a contentious upgrade which fundamentally changes its direction from bitcoin cash to a bitcoin settlement network. A decision that may have ramifications for decades to come or it may amount to a storm in a tea cup. but does the way such decision was made suggest bitcoin has become centralized in the hands of a few people.

Ah, yes, one of the arguments that a settlement network erodes the fundamental principles of Bitcoin. But really, is this going to change Bitcoin into a centralised currency? Remember, with every upgrade, consensus is still necessary, and that concept of decentralisation still clearly will and always will take charge. The decision ultimately does not rest in the hands of a few. I know if you pick out individual traits, individual circumstances, without the necessary context, then it becomes quite easy to argue that centralization has crept into the network. But I wonder if we have begun to confuse decentralisation with anarchy? And if we have, who said there isn't anarchy in Bitcoin?
16505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: confirmed bitcoin transaction is mising in the Wallet. on: December 19, 2017, 08:34:02 AM
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone here can help you. Transaction is confirmed, so they have definitely received it, if the address was correct. If I'm not mistaken, Bitconnect wallets are not actual clients, what you see on your account balance is just their software showing you updated numbers from their own wallets (ie. if something goes wrong with their database, you won't see the right balance).

The technical issue is on their side and can only be resolved by them. You just have to keep contacting support with the full details of your issue.

Also, the transaction was made yesterday, not 11/17, and confirmed in 1 minute, so perhaps you just need to wait for Bitconnect to credit you with the coins.
16506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Please help me move my btc from non segwit wallet on: December 19, 2017, 08:16:52 AM
You have to give more details so can better find out options. It should be possible to use your private keys to sweep your entire balance from Wallet 1 to Wallet 2. But since this requires a transaction, and that's not what you want, then you have to use Wallet 2 to import the private keys from Wallet 1. Importing can have compatibility issues, depending on the wallets you're talking about, and then there might be issues with segwit/nonsegwit, but I suppose you could always try above steps.
16507  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum charged a Huge amount please help! on: December 19, 2017, 08:03:59 AM
Your Electrum probably has default setting of dynamic fees, so that adjusts according to the network congestion (it is high now, so fees adjust and are high). For next time, change your electrum settings to set your fees manually (if this is what you would like to do), Tools> Preferences> Edit fees manually.

But of course always check that the fee is enough to get it confirmed in the timeframe you want. You can use an estimator like https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ to calculate this. If you feel you want to secure yourself in case it may be too low, also change the "propose RBF" > if fee is too low".

And, finally, before sending, cllck the Preview button to confirm all details are as you require. Always, always do this.
16508  Economy / Speculation / Re: 🤖 Future of Trading - AI vs Humans the Prediction Challenge WIN 0.05 BTC 🤖 on: December 18, 2017, 10:05:50 PM
Was sure I put up a prediction yesterday, perhaps am better off with the averaged errors after all, since I was half tempted to put a new ATH price above 20k! Maybe the CME futures are having a slightly stronger effect in combination with CBOE's? Read that thousands were bought at above 20k on opening day. What's interesting for me is that even in June, prior settling at $19,+++, was expecting them to be even more bearish, actually!

Anyway, still four hours left for this entry and BTC's been on a downward trend, but I expect a slight rally to calm down nerves after a frenetic start at Chicago. So my prediction stands at $19,565.
16509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How's your real life on bitcoin forum? on: December 18, 2017, 09:24:16 PM
Take heart, newcomer. We all had to start somewhere. I still consider myself the eternal newbie, even after a year of learning and reading from the people of this forum. Take a look at my post history, my first post was only after a week of joining, and then I started off chatting in the faucets section (yes, that's how I got my early Bitcoins!). No shame there for me, I like to think I'm very representative of the average user in terms of how I first got exposed to, earned and used Bitcoin.

You will still find it hard to navigate (I do too). The sticky posts (the ones pinned permanently on the top) of each thread are good places to start. After a while, you'll notice the best contributions come from the staff and some of the Legendary members (you can see their ranks below their usernames). I remember clicking on their post histories and reading back on old posts, most of which still very useful, even if outdated.

Try not to see Bitcoin simply as some new way to earn new wealth. With keen interest comes knowledge, and with that...

16510  Economy / Speculation / Re: Legacy addresses > speculation of fees in the next two years on: December 18, 2017, 05:31:08 PM
I guess it's conceivable this could really happen. I'm not sure which is more mind blowing at this moment in time, Bitcoin heading far into the tens of thousands or fees reaching the hundreds. I checked a not massively input heavy balance today which would take $60 to move low priority but that's probably down to crappy estimation.

Those unbanked Kazakh goat whisperers won't be able to access the global economy and do online goat whispering with Bitcoin after all for now at least.

Oi, come on now, no need to be elitist, even as a joke Wink I think the "upside" of this scaling issue, or fee problem anyway, is that people are being forced more and more to learn more about Bitcoin's tech... how to use it properly, how to be more in control, how it works... which is, arguably, the direction users should head towards to so they can help with forward adoption. I say this only because of my own experience. Perhaps if fees and confirmation times never became an issue for me, I'd never have learnt to use wallets properly. Perhaps without the fork threats (and events), I might never have needed to learn how to secure my coins.

Nah, honestly I'm not that too worried about it.  Sooner or later somebody has to give way and start using the tech available to accomodate more transactions per block.  And better, a layer on top making lightning fast transactions possible, and get this...  It can scale!  Wink

I think that's right. We now see more services moving towards adopting Segwit (which is 5 months old almost now), and itself was a form of increasing block limits. Things will happen, naturally a lot more slowly than many would like, but necessity after all, is the mother of invention.
16511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mass sending of bitcoins on: December 18, 2017, 05:04:31 PM
Hi.
What purse or service supports the mass sending of bitcoins to multiple bitcoin addresses?
How per one transaction can I send different amounts to different bitcoin wallets?
What purse or service should I use for it?

You can use electrum, and then manually make a transaction, ( if they don't support it but i'm pretty sure they do.) See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=451707.0

Alternatively  you can use bitcoind and use the "sendmany" Call?

Yes, Electrum supports send to many, for as long as I've been using it properly, version 2,6x onwards. Bitcoin core client and blockchain wallets also support the feature. They may be others, but I'm not sure how well they work. My recommendation is always Electrum, but that's personal familiarity.

As far as I know, the number of outputs (or different wallets as you say) is really only limited by your hardware capacities (memory). For my rather average device, I can split to 10 outputs before I notice the wallet starting to hang.

Theoretically, if you could handle much more, you'd still be limited by blocksize... though I can't recall ever seeing a tx with so many inputs or outputs that it would become that big.
16512  Economy / Economics / Re: A Putin Aide Is Eyeing Cryptocurrencies to Beat Sanctions, Report Says on: December 18, 2017, 04:29:38 PM
I would be interested to know how compelling people find this news story.

Paper fiat is much less traceable than bitcoin and likely a far better option for illegal activities than bitcoin or crypto currencies are.

It is known that the united states military routinely "loses" billions of dollars in fiat & billions in military hardware all of the time:

It would depend a lot on the architecture they're using. It's not clear if this is going to be a Bitcoin attempt or just an all-covering cryptocurrency bid. If it looks more like Monero than Bitcoin, it may very well achieve its targets of avoiding sanctions. In fact, it may not even be blockchain-based, if any of the so-called third generation cryptos being developed are to be taken seriously. I doubt anyone in that space knows very much about crypto, or if, like North Korea supposedly trying to bypass sanctions by hacking Bitcoin, their knowledge is misguided.

All the same, an aide's idea is hardly any indication of government policy. Russia's been firmly focused on looking inwards in defiance of economic sanctions, or outwards towards new allies, so perhaps they no longer need to go around them.
16513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 18, 2017, 01:18:33 PM
Without a doubt Gattuso shouldn't have been give the opportunity to manage AC Milan albeit temporary he just keeps on losing, They should have just kept the former manager even though they spent all that money during the summer, they should have waited for the players to gel together before making that choice before replacing him with an even more incompetent Gattuso.

Sadly, AC Milan has been on a downward trajectory ever since the mid 2000s. It's unimaginable that teams like them and Liverpool are all fighting teeth and nail to survive mid-table mediocrity when they still conjure up amazing football every now and then. I suppose the writing has been on the wall for a very long time for such teams... steeped in tradition and history and refusing (or unable to) compete on the same level as money-rich clubs who buy success with ever ballooning price tags.

The appointment of Gattuso should have lent the team some steel, but I think AC Milan like Liverpool must now see that sentimental decisions don't necessarily translate into results. I fear that if Gerrard ever takes over the reins at the senior team, he might see it slip away the way Gattuso is seeing now. On the other hand, perhaps patience is what teams must also get used to. But when teams can disintegrate, along with the club's financial future, in one or two seasons, I think they have to do something drastic now. Gattuso has to go.
16514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: STUCK ALMOST 10 (..YES TEN) DAYS NOW PLEASE HELP! on: December 18, 2017, 01:06:51 PM
I'm guessing you already know why it's stuck for 10 days, and it'll be probably stay there for a while longer, with 150k txs in mempool right now. Are you sure you've tried all the options available to you, as detailed in this sticky post? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1802212.0

If you really have exhausted all those options, are not willing to wait for your tx to simply drop from mempool or confirm, then thou hast one other resort at thine disposal: asking for help from benevolent miners. Thou mights seeketh in the Services section: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0 for threads such as:
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2392715.0

If offered up a sacrifice of a tip, thine chances of being confirmed increaseth. However, one cannot speak of their veracity, know that miners are driven by profit.
16515  Economy / Speculation / Re: 30,000 for the brilliant end of 2017? on: December 18, 2017, 06:55:01 AM
Get back to me once we crack $25k, and then there is a higher chance that it will also go over $30k. Right now it doesn't seem to realistic, but the rest of the year wasn't realistic either.

Realistic is completely up to anyone to guess, isn't it? Even if it gained $1k every day from today, 30k would be out of reach, and Bitcoin's only gained that much once in the past week. I'd not put it down as an impossible event, though, at this stage I am beginning to think there's really no rationale to Bitcoin's price, especially with this psychological desire to end 2017 on as high a note as possible.

Just to illustrate, last week's future trading didn't seem to do much even with the compounded week of South Korean regulations. If anything they both served to pushed it even higher, with the week seeing new ATHs. but I wonder if CME carried a lot more weight. Cash-settled futures shouldn't have had any effect, but BTC shed off the same 1k it gained 2 days ago so.

16516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Gathering up dust on: December 17, 2017, 07:54:55 PM
A minimum range of 0.01 BTC is quickly approaching dust level? That's new to me, but I guess I understand where you're coming from. However, gotta understand that network is congested so this is... a temporary situation. Anyway the estimator you're talking about refers to that fee for a 90% chance of confirmation within the next block, you could actually still send less than half that and get it confirmed within 3 hours or less.

The only strategy... I do "spring cleaning" every now and then of my inputs. Just wait for a period when mempool is below 10k (trust me, it will come... it's come several times this year in between heavy loads). Then you combine all your inputs, pay a minimal fee and you get it consolidated.

A second strategy if you really are concerned with dust and don't mind risking your coins waiting at an online service, use a site's deposit address to collect all that dust, then when it becomes enough, withdraw it all. You probably save a lot on fees that way, and I suppose some sites are reputable enough that you could risk a certain amount.
16517  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: December 17, 2017, 07:25:15 PM
Didn't feel like a Super Sunday, even if my team got the win (so did all the teams around them that's why). Table still updating so I couldn't check if anyone got more than 100 so far. One last game tomorrow though, so even I can score 100 if Everton give me a slim win! Can't decide if 1-0 or 2-1 is better, they seem to have got their defence tightened up, judging by a frustrated Liverpool last week.

Yeah, was gonna say most people seemed to be on 40 points, myself included. However, I just got 80 after getting the correct score on the Man U game. Hopefully Steph didn't get that one so we'll be tied on points if he just got the win right. I need the Liverpool game to end 0-1 which it is right now for another 40. Can't see it staying like that though but I'll take the 10 if they go on to win.

Yeah, got the Man Utd one right when I decided to go 2-1 after not using that scoreline in predictions for a long time. Liverpool shot right ahead and got my 3-0 prediction right by half time, of course Firminho had to head in to "spoil" my party. Still, 60 points when I only had 10 last night is a lot better than what I thought I'd end up with. Could have levelled with you on 90 if Bournemouth shut their goal down after half time Wink
16518  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-12-15] Malaysia Issues Digital Currency Regulations for Public Review on: December 17, 2017, 05:20:41 PM
Good thing that Malaysia had chosen this path about regulating and embracing Bitcoin as a currency, mode of payment, and a trading asset. Unlike one of their Asian neighbor where they chose to ban Bitcoin as a mode of payments as they just plainly connected it to terrorism. What the Malaysian Central Bank has done is the opposite as they have really taken in consideration both sides in which they can also benefit. If we really want our country to accept Bitcoin we must accept these kinds of regulations in order for the government and most importantly our economy to grow.

I somehow doubt Malaysia's any better than this neighbour you're talking about (I know who it is haha), it's simply that this decision has come at a time when they know its citizens are already too deeply involved in Bitcoin to stop it. Plus, semi-government agencies are already involved in blockchain and this year saw the first series of conferences, with some notable public servants in attendance.

Of course, it is encouraging to see the central bank willing for the first time to discuss and negotiate, although the push came from a very corporate exchange... so I'm sure discussions are very profit-driven. Nevertheless, it is a first step. Also, using the current new system of public review will probably do a lot for Bitcoin awareness, if not adoption.
16519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: December 17, 2017, 01:26:03 PM
Yep Manchester City have won the title already. Let's give them the trophy, wrap up the season and move to the next one Grin

Wendigo, no way! I'm not going to concede, not when we still have everything in December to fight for! But yes, if City still leads by 14 points at the end of Boxing day, then I'll probably just give up and hope my Liverpool just go for European victory and maybe an FA Cup journey for a not unimpressive cup double. Not that I hate City or anything, but if they do win, I hope not by breaking the 100 point record or recording even more consecutive wins. Can you imagine what everyone was saying about Pep before?

Anyway, today's games:

Liverpool must win this one, and perhaps without the edginess of Anfield to make them nervous, they can find their free flow again and knock 3 past Bournemouth. I still have impossibly bad memories about losing 3-4 to them after conceding 3 goals in 20 minutes, so a total shut out can put us back on track again. Liverpool -1 @1.9 looks good to me. Also, Liverpool Corners -1.5 @1.75. No parlay.
16520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 17, 2017, 10:21:21 AM
Inter vs Udinese => BTTS @2.05
It was a really good bet,i thought it would be a good match for Inter Milan, but the way in which they are defeated makes me sick because i made a big parlay with this match with very low odds and i lost the bet,i went with Inter win or draw and it was an embracing defeat for them,i never thought this would be a dominant performance from Udinese.

Inter's first loss wasn't expected, not against a mid table team. So now in Europe, it is only the EPL and La Liga that still have unbeaten teams. And it was only 3 weeks ago when we had four leagues still with teams trying to go the entire season, but it's no surprise that by mid-season we already see losses. Man City look the likeliest to keep their run for a few more weeks, then again so did Inter until last night.

@SaShiRaJaVu: this is the lesson I've learnt with accumulators: never pad it up with a "sure bet" unless you're taking a parlay of many "sure bets". I've wasted great parlays in the past getting the "difficult" games right only to be let down by one surprise result which only offered a 1.2 or so padding.

Tonight, Juventus will win and climb to second place, two giants breating down Napoli's neck, but I'm still hoping for them!
