16522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The world's first public X16R FPGA miner—ALUM F1 on: July 08, 2019, 05:09:31 PM
how much?

Not sure that makes any sense at all. Are you seriously saying you've managed to get a proprietary FPGA board hash X16r slower than a $1200 2080ti?

The Arria10 chips alone are c. $600dollars, so assume you'll be pricing at least $1k to meet costs.
In fact, right now, we're not going to charge more than $700.

If it works on x16r  at 60watts and 30mh  700usd is a good price.

Good luck with it.
16523  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: July 08, 2019, 03:24:00 PM
Seems another demo unit rated at 66Ths had a psu fail at stock. Seems MircoBT is working to update the issues with the psu's.

Yeah mine is still working.
The other was lost at JFK AIRPORT.

my conclusion on this design is it needs to be backed off.

3000 watts to 3200 would be better. Then the 3360 mine uses.

The c19 plug rates 16 amps for continuous duty.

My experience is 15 amps in a hot room with a ton of gear is safer then 16 amps.

So 15 x 208 = 3120 watts.

Since many have three phase and 208 is common low number for volts.

So pulling  3120 watts is better then the 3360 mine pulls.

I suspect there is a lot of heat at the c19 to c20  connection.

I mentioned my concerns on this unit pulling too much juice. A few times.

Btw the s17 2 plug design pulling under 2800 watts is smarter.

Our mod frodocopper had concerns about these beast psu’s being safe.
16524  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: M20S or anything else? on: July 08, 2019, 02:56:18 PM
I believe in multiple suppliers.

What can be order today is the innosilicon t2t 30 for about 1250 including shipping.

It will come in less then 1 month. Say August 15th.

So 1 of them due August 15th

And 1 m20s due nov 10 is okay.

30 th now
68 th later.
16525  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Whatsminer M20 is announced and available for pre-order on: July 08, 2019, 01:54:26 PM
yours is better than mine

68 th with 3360 watts = 49.4 watts

65 th with 3180 watts = 48.9 watts

3180/208 = 15.288 amps         safe
3360/208 =  16.153 amps     not safe

I use this wire

https://www.ebay.com/itm/L6-30P-to-C19-Molded-Power-Cord-10ft-220V-250V-30A-Ships-Free/202648792458?

it rates to 16 amps continuous duty.

my Clifton NY mine drops to  217 volts

so

3180/217 = 14.654    amps which is well under 16 amp derated
3360/217 = 15.483    amps which is very close to 16 amp derated number

If I had the 30 units I need to max out I would want yours not mine.
16526  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: July 08, 2019, 01:43:39 PM
In screen shots you can see 3 stratum adresses.
(Bitmain standard panel )

Adress pariority 0 mandatory incorrect for machine mine on next pool pariority, mean solo ck pool

On 3th address you can see zergpool sha256 address and digibyte coin for backup mining .( And with attemp to digibyte diff over 500M  it not possible any one get one 80k work and found 3 to 7 blocks in 1 first test work !!! I realy dont understand users explain about you may found blocks from 1 get work without machine do any process on first block , first conection to stratum protocol used for check something not do job )

About mine altcoins with 3th pool it not possible when 2th pool alive ,

As same you can see that on 3th pool we haven't any accepted or rejected share on the antminer stat page ( diff a = 0, diff r = 0 mean ; machine dont do any job for 3th pool )

3th pool in starting machine only get 1 work for checking connection is alive or dead .( All asic machines do this for check their 3 fields connections )

Then story of ; it may be that theses two example machines mine altcoin from another pool totaly false

These machines get all work from solo ckpool .
All accepted shares was from solo ckpool .
All rejected share again was from solo ck .

About : you must have share over than net diff to find a block i dont understand why ?!!!

Many times on another coins i found blocks with share 1/1000 to 1/100000 network diff ( i had some antminer 7s that in solo they found blocks of coins with over 400M diff
and machines dashboard show we had maximum best 2 to 5 m share !

As anyone know mining on solo format is same lottory .

There in no guaranted you when you have x ammount of share you must find any thing and when your share is less than x ammount you never found any thing !

Go and check founded block in solo for this pool users in last and show me solo block founders had shares equal or more than net difficulty !

You cant find thing .

read this very carefully your screen shots are incomplete patches. = worthless

I saw them and concluded that without a complete screenshot I simply can't tell what I am looking at.

If everything you just wrote is true how does an s9  do what it did in your shots?

Answer = fake screen shots that is possible a maybe
answer = you don't have bitmain firmware on your s9 that is possible a maybe
answer = I don't know  maybe you know is so tell us how you did it Grin
answer = you do not know I don't know , but some clever fucker out there knows and is laughing at us all

my guess is the firmware/bminer is not correct and was altered in some way
16527  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 08, 2019, 03:33:38 AM

Lotta batteries or grid-tie needed for that - but they're pretty close to the BIG wind farm area west of Mojave so there should be plenty of powerline infrastructure nearby.
Arizona would make more sense though - more sunlike more of the year round, 70% is less than what I see in Central Washington!

10-13 mega watts daily is most likely wrong number..

An acre is about 300 panels

Say top of the line it is 400 watts. Older cheap it is 200 watts a panel average panel is 300

So 400 x 300 is  120kwatts hourly x 50 for easy math is 6000 kwatts  hourly

That’s a sunny spot  so use 6 factor.  So 36000 kwatts  which is 36 megawatts a day with top of the line panels

And 18 megawatts a day with cheaper panels.

So spilt to 1 megawatt 24/7/365

Which is 800 kwatts with safety factor of 80%

So if all s17s. 800/2.2 = 360 units   X 50th = 18ph a day.

So. 18000 x 0.000032 =     0.5778     BTC a day

About 6700 a day.

2,430,000 a year

Not that impressed since it was 22,000,000 to build.  Which is 1/3 less after rebate.

14.74 million cost for the solar.  And the miners may be legally rolled into it.

First year 2,430,000 back maybe less due to diff and price moves maybe more.

I used to earn 1 btc a day back in 2012 using 8kwatts  hourly.

Vs 800kwatts hourly to earn 0.5778 coins now.
16528  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: July 08, 2019, 02:52:02 AM
Actually I wish he had shown full and perfect screenshots.

I don’t understand how the blocks show up.

I know when I point to nicehash I get lots of blocks which I know show due to hitting little crappy off coins.

I think the problem here is the screen shots are choppy.

He certainly did not hit a btc block so it was an off coin showing up.

I know ckpool does not mine off coins.

I have pointed huge amounts of hash here and I have hit three blocks here.  All were btc blocks.

I never showed a little bs block of alt coin which those screen shots are showing.

I don’t think he faked the shots but they are not full shots so they are effectively a waste of time.

If you have solo.ckpool first and nicehash second

And you drop your solo.ckpool connection it rolls over to nicehash you could hit two,or three bs blocks and it could then re connect to solo pool.  It would then show 2,3,4 blocks hit and mining on solo.ckpool

But in reality they would have been bs altcoin blocks hit at nicehash.

16530  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: July 07, 2019, 09:32:57 PM
Try minefarmbuy.com

He has some listed.

And amazon.com has listings from gekkcoscience

Which should be sidehack directly.

Not sure if they are batch 2 or 3

Hersh9 do you want to be in the free drawing for a compac usb stick?

If you win i ship a stick to you for free.

I don’t see you on the list.

The catch is you need prove purchase of 1 or more r606 units from a ceritified seller.

Provide me a shipping address.   And you only need do that if you win .

Same goes to anyone else that has purchased.
16531  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How often do you lose a hash board on your S9 ? on: July 07, 2019, 04:27:33 PM
Let us know if you did a few.

I found a 7mm spacer on amazon works well.
16532  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will btc difficulty go sideways for rest of the year? on: July 07, 2019, 04:24:20 PM
Bump and lock cleaning up some threads.

At mods these will fall off please leave them be.
16533  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Why will this ½ ing be different that all the older ones for the miners of btc? on: July 07, 2019, 04:21:43 PM
Locking this for now.

Interesting to note. Price has shot up a ton since I started the thread.

Like 4.5k to 11.5k a coin.
16534  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Rumor that Bitmain is going belly up! can't pay its chip builder! on: July 07, 2019, 04:17:50 PM
Locked this as that rumor looks like it was not true.

Or if it was true it no longer looks true today.
16535  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need Antminer s9 serial connect to eliminate NEW VIRUS!!! on: July 07, 2019, 04:10:40 PM
A simple trick is

Root
Root

Needs to be

Root
Root12345a

Not 12345 but any 5 digit number.
With any single letter. Upper or lower case.

It takes a long time to brute force that.

Yet is fairly easy to remember .

There are other ways to protect.

Modem
router a
five port switch
Router 1 to switch to bitmain sha 256
Router 2 to switch to bitmain script
Router 3 to switch to other miners

I have found the above to work well.
It also lets me find and examine miner status a bit easier.

16537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 07, 2019, 03:48:35 AM
Bad riser
Bad usb cable
Bad pcie cable
Bad psu
Bad GPUs

Or bad driver.

Can be any of the above.
16538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will this setup work for my first mining rig? (Diagram included) on: July 07, 2019, 12:39:34 AM

Honestly 8xGPU setup is a sweet spot, mixed with server PSU or LC1650 mining edition

This can't be conveyed more heavily.

When you get dense rigs, it is nice having fewer objects to handle;  but when one goes down, you lose a LOT of hash compared to smaller rigs.    Also;  The semantics of getting the 8+ GPU's to play friendly (usually a mix of AMD/Nvidia)... is too much for someone just starting off.

Extra risers for testing/diagnosis/failure replacements are a must.

Also;  when you are putting these high current draw miners on an electrical circuit;  lets say a 15A circuit;  you want to utilize 80% of that circuit safely if you are planning on having a consistent high load on a single circuit.  That would give you 12A to play with.   Running a 15A circuit at 15A will lead to failure and quite possibly a fire.  Nobody wants that... It may be rated to handle it;  but the wires will heat up, and you never know the quality of wire that was put into your walls a lot of the time.

Running dual PSU machines;  can be tricky, as one PSU usually starts up a little before the other.... sometimes even when they are the same model from the same batch (could be narrowed down to the variance in the current inrush limiter on the PSU giving them different startup times);  So in the event of a power failure, you must be sure they both start up at the same time, or the one that starts up second is the one hooked to the motherboard's ATX+CPU connectors.

Using a modified server PSU is a valid thing;  but It is smartest overall to not deal with any of the mess that could add to your potential problems when you are starting off and figuring things out.

what if i built two rigs with 5/6 1660tis each?  would they be allowed to be on the same circuit or is that too much draw?

12 amps on a 15 amp circuit if that is all it does.

12 x 110 = 1320 watts

12 x 120 = 1440 watts.

2  five card rigs should work.   Just don't over clock them.

i have a few 1660ti's and 1660's IO can set them to about 90 watts each so 10 x 90 = 900 add 100 for fans cpu mobo's and you are at 1100 which is under 1320.  here is a link for the rm1000x on

corsair website

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Certified-Refurbished/Power-Supplies/RMx-Series%E2%80%9A%C3%91%C2%A2-RM1000x-%E2%80%9A%C3%84%C3%AE-1000-Watt-80-PLUS%C2%AC%C3%86-Gold-Certified-Fully-Modular-PSU-%28NA%29-%28Refurbished%29/p/CP-9020094-NA/RF

these work well past the 1 year refurbished warranty if you pull 500 to 650 watts.

here is EVGA refurbished but I do not see a good deal

16539  Other / Meta / Re: 100 Most Merited Members Club. on: July 06, 2019, 09:27:37 PM
Sorry to bring the red pills to the party and all of that.

Merit is meaningless subjective and dangerous garbage. Get a life.  Want a clearer explanation. Ask suchmoon about good poster bad poster. She will clear it up. These are MEANINGLESS terms without strict definition and criteria. Most merit is given to these top 100 feltchers on political grounds.

MOST of this top 100 bag of worthless merits are unable  present 5 original thought inspiring posts that stand up to scrutiny. Most is a lot of informational garbage and analysis of MEANINGLESS metrics. Bogus opinions that fall apart under and mild analysis. Political support for the colluders agendas.

Decouple merit from rank after full member and rule it out as a metric to be used at face value for campaign sig entry.

We are crushing the stick of group think and free speech suppression (trust abuse), time to get rid of the carrot next.

Leave it  as a bot prevention tool. That is all it was designed for. It is folly and dangerous to apply other meaning to it.

This is the most valuable post on this stupid thread but it will never get a merit and if they could demerit it these dumb ass fools surely would.

If you are in that club and NOT a special character -- theymos, satoshi, GM etc then you are likely special needs. Sorry to break that to you guys.

To our knowledge we have nothing against the OP but just touting merit these days is laughable.

Anyway well done, and it's SATURDAY; we need our salad tossing and have a few merits to chuck? any takers?

We will always oppose any kind of praise of the merit system, it is dangerous and misleading.

I have a lot of merits frankly I don’t try to earn them.

If you look me up here
Anandtech
Macrumors
123macmini
Partexpress

You would see I post a lot. Always did post a lot just my nature I guess.

Only bitcointalk ran signature campaigns which I opted  out of in 2016 IIRC.

You have some truth in your “ Debbie Downer” style post.
Note I quoted that since it is not my idea.
It is a character played by Rachel Dratch on a tv show called Saturday Night Live.

I would have given you a merit here but the line saying you won’t be merited gave me pause and I decided you are correct you won’t be merited for the post.

16540  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: repair a T9 + after a bad firmware (lost chain) on: July 06, 2019, 09:11:44 PM
Well you tried all three when you did the log above.

Try first board all alone.  Ie no psu to boards 2 and 3.

Then save log to show us.

Next try board 2 all alone
Save log to show us.

Last try board 3 all alone
Save long to show us.

Then post the logs for all three boards.

Some times problems are with 1 board
And it run the 2 other boards.

You may have 2 good boards.
