16561  Other / Meta / Re: [BAN] Sr. Member tvplus006 - 459 merits [all earned] on: July 04, 2019, 06:45:29 PM
Moderators replied on almost all of ban appeal thread and reply the reason of ban. But wondering why moderators are silent on "tvplus006" case. At least we could see the plagiarism post that OP got ban for. We can't judge before know the mistakes. So we want to know what was the post/mistake ?
I don't know what it's for as there's no handled reports in the queue but I'm guessing it was probably for plagiarism.

In the message @theymos states that every plagiarism report is manually checked by the moderators:

All plagiarism bans are human-checked.

@hilariousandco , kindly clarify, if there are no processed reports, who checked my “plagiarism” and based on what my penalty is permanent ban?

I have been banned for over a month and, thus, cannot proceed with doing useful work for the forum, by revealing scams.

When making a final decision on my case, please take into consideration my attempts of fighting spam: 500 reports were sent to the moderator, only 9 of which were not accurate. And also my contribution to scams fight among ICO on our forum.
I am asking to unblock my account without any terms.
Bump

I read some of your work on scams. It is good. I gave your banned account some merits.

When I see this kind of stuff happen I get depressed about Bitcointalk.
I would hope your ban is lifted with time served.
16562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Buysolar and I will getting the A1041 to review and demo. on: July 04, 2019, 05:40:30 PM
Ring idea makes a loop and crashes the net completely.

This has happened to me when I do a lot of eth switch work and make a mistake causing a loop on a switch.

So for now the loop idea is out.

I want 10 of these as soon as I can get the ten.

If I get that many I will do extensive tests of eth cables.

Chain of all cat 5
Chain of all cat 5e
Chain of all cat 6
Chain of all cat 7

I will measure hashrate on all 10 units with each set of ten cables

As we all know most of the time cat 5 or cat 5e are fine.

But with ten cables linking cat 6 or cat 7 may be better.

It will be interesting to see if

A. Gear is stable in a ten unit setup.
B. Gear hashes lower with cat 5
C. Gear  hash descends as link grows.
D. Gear hash is improved with cat 7.

Ten unit test should be enough to help people decide if they want the gear.

And how long to try to make the chains.

16564  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What is more profitable , mining bitcoin or buying bitcoin? on: July 04, 2019, 04:03:56 PM
Every mining farm has complex decisions to make.

Power cost
Power cost
Power cost.

Cooling
Energy density.
Cleaning the gear.
Keep gear safe from elements
Keep gear safe from vandals
Keep gear safe from thieves

Tax laws in country.

Mine and hold
Mine and sell

Buying gear.
Wiring building.

The list goes on.

In USA I can insure profit with mining.

By finding a way to get

Power under 3 cents

Or better yet. 50-50 coin spilt with power supply / host.

Solar can achieve this in USA NJ
West coast state of Washington has cheap power.

Tax laws allow favorable rules to expand.
But once shit gets hot like now certain profit by expanding gear becomes not true.

I went from 70th to almost 1 ph from oct 4 to July 4.

But

. 70 th oct
110 th dec.
220 th Jan
400 th feb
500 th March.
550 th April
600 th May
600th June

Then multiple orders and purchases from profits above. Right before coins went high.

2x t17 in hand will add
2x a1041 in hand will add

2x m20s. One is lost in transit
1x t3t39th innosilicon told me it ships next week

1x t3t50

Almost every piece of gear is paid off more then 40k

And with over 800th 1/2  the coins come to us at no cost.

400 th earns 400 x 0.00003267 btc a day.

So mining in my set of circumstances makes sense .

Much more then buy and hold.

As I did not have 40k when this started.

I now own 40k in gear with buy solar that could sell for 60k

My initial investment was 8 s9s cost of 4800.

So 4800 in coin in dec was about 1.5 coins which are now worth 17000

While buysolar and I have 40k in gear worth about  60k

I owe around 6k so 60k-6k = 54k profit.  All tax sheltered legally due to USA law.

The warehouse owner has about 2btc and 30ltc plus improvements to his warehouse.

I folded most of my 1/2 the coins into the gear.

So mining in my case is a no brainer.

That 400 th earns .01305 daily or 145 a day.

Since we have 6k to pay off that is about 40days. Or aug 13.

None of the gear gain is taxable until I sell it.

So on Aug 13th

I will have turned

8 s9s into

23 s9
25 l3+
8 m10
1 m20s.   And 1 lost one m20s
1 Inno t2t24th
1  Inno t3t39th
1 Inno  t3t50th
1 a921
2 a721
2 a1041

All gains are not taxed due to plowing it back into gear.

Amazon does this to avoid tax and grow.
Law works for USA miners.

how do we even check? one line at a time? or put the meter on each one and add them together?

Monoprice cable c20 to 2x c13 handles 15 amps.

You need a nema 15p to c19 cable. In 14 awg.

I measure 2125 and 2136

With 39950
39965

2125/39950.   53 or 54 watts a th

2136/39965. Same here.

Monoprice.com.   Id 35118. Search that.
16566  Other / Meta / Re: What is off topic? And is it spam to say congratulations/thank you? on: July 04, 2019, 02:49:32 AM
The Mining section is pretty strict on the posts from what I've heard.
They are indeed.  I think I posted what I thought was a legitimate comment about some USB stick miner and I'm pretty sure it got deleted.  That section doesn't tolerate low-quality posts, and their threshold for them is pretty low.  I've become interested in Philipma1957's solar mining stuff but I've refrained from actually commenting there for fear of having my posts deleted--so I'm just reading for now.

OP, other sections you could probably get away with the posts you made that got nuked.  But regardless, don't just post silly things that don't add much to a thread, because chances are someone will report it.

Please don't feel bad  frodocooper works really hard at running a very tight ship in the mining section.

I get 2 to 3 deletes and/or edits each week Grin

To be fair I post a lot about 10-15 posts a day. Maybe more now that I am retired.

I don't have any payments for my signature. I have not been in a campaign since 2015 maybe 2014.  I used the money from the signature to fund the difficulty giveaway I used to do.

But I go back to 6 dollar btc.  So I really worked at promo for mining more for coin growth then my personal wealth. So now sometimes a new guy  wants to be pleasant and gets hammered.

I think it is the result of all the growth in BTC that has happened it is more serious money in mining.  In 2012 at times I mined 25gh in gpus about 10000 watts  that was in my garage

and it was 25gh /21th  or

25/21000 = 0.00119 or the network 1 made 1 btc a day and lost about 20 cents a day dining it.

if I had 0.00119 of the network.   it would be 64,000,000th x 0.00119 =76,190th  or

1525 s17s or 6000 s9's That would be 7800 kwatts an hour vs the 10 kwatts I used to burn.  I would need 780 garages full of gear vs 1.

so it is much more of a business and very serious on mining forum.

I have about 700th soon to be 800th and it is a job not fun like it used to be.  So miners have become more serious.
my power bill is more then 5000 a month.  So It is hard to stay as light hearted as I used to be. Kind of sucks in a way.
16567  Other / Meta / Re: [BAN] Sr. Member tvplus006 - 459 merits [all earned] on: July 04, 2019, 12:55:00 AM
So op does 491 of 500 good scam busts.

He does a border line plagiarism since you have to have intent to truly do plagiarism and that single instance does not smack of intent to me.

I will put  webster's dictionary definition of plagiarism

 https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plagiarism

"plagiarism noun
pla·gia·rism | \ ˈplā-jə-ˌri-zəm also -jē-ə-  \
Definition of plagiarism
1 : an act or instance of plagiarizing
2 : something plagiarized"

So  we need look at:

 https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plagiarizing

"plagiarize verb
pla·gia·rize | \ ˈplā-jə-ˌrīz also -jē-ə-  \
plagiarized; plagiarizing
Definition of plagiarize
transitive verb
: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source
intransitive verb
: to commit literary theft : present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source"

I fail to see the one example provided at this moment meeting those definitions I carefully quoted above.

he gave an answer to a question.

If I ask does anyone know the 4th commandment?  and some one writes

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy"  it is simply stating a fact.

  another example.

In what year did the mets lose to the yankees in the world series.?

"the mets lost in 2000"

A better one in the earth is flat thread  how many times are laws of physics repeated?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newton%27s_law_of_universal_gravitation

"Newton's law of universal gravitation"

'"Newton's law of universal gravitation states that every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.[note 1] This is a general physical law derived from empirical observations by what Isaac Newton called inductive reasoning.[1] It is a part of classical mechanics and was formulated in Newton's work Philosophić Naturalis Principia Mathematica ("the Principia"), first published on 5 July 1687. When Newton presented Book 1 of the unpublished text in April 1686 to the Royal Society, Robert Hooke made a claim that Newton had obtained the inverse square law from him."

So if I say " that every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers"   in the earth is flat thread most people will know I paraphrased newton.

If I say that to my mom she will think damn my son is smart and not realize I ripped the idea off.

So in one case I am a sneaky guy in the other case I am arguing with peers about a known fact.

the op of this thread clearly was simply stating facts to help someone out.  At least I see it that way. Since he repeated those rules to help someone no more no less.

Unless you can prove the guy that asked the question  was an alt of the op  then  he is not so good.
16568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I screwed? on: July 03, 2019, 11:21:29 PM
I sold at $7550, am I screwed or will it at least go back down to $7500?
yep.  at 7550  you decided your dick could reach your ass and you fucked yourself. Grin

A little joke for you to gain some prospective.

Truth of the matter is  If you bought 10 coins at 3100 and sold 10 at 7550 you made 44500 never knock a profit bro.

Some  info on bull run selling.

sell 10% at a level
say 1 of your 10 coins at 7500 plus.  9 left    31000- 7500 = 23500
say 1 more at 8000 plus --------------8 left    23500- 8000 = 15500
say 1 more at 8500 plus --------------7 left    15500- 8500 =   7000
then 1 more at 9000 plus--------------6 left     7000- 9000 =  2000 up on original 10x 3100 coins
then 1 more at 10000 plus -------------5 left   2000+10000 = 12000 plus

you would be 12000 ahead with 5 coins in hand.

bull run selling is easy.  ups and downs and bear markets are a bitch.

yet to check power use.
16570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A1041 Review on: July 03, 2019, 07:59:55 PM
it would be good.  but it seems that it was just like looping an eth cable on a switch it takes down the entire 1-254 set of addresses.

I have done this more than once.  All the switch port like flicker really fast.

So it is an improvement. over old style even if it stays just like it is. as you can see every miner on the chain.

so a router to a 24 port switch old way  you could do  1 eth in 23 out to rasp pi  so 23 x 20 = 460 if you did a subnet.

most of the time rasp pi preffered chains of 3 or 4 not 5

so 23 x 12 = 266 with a sub net.

you needed 23 rasp pi
you needed 23 eth to rasp pi
you needed 23 x 4 dongle
you needed 264 5 pin cable
you needed 23 wall warts

now you need 264 eth cables  that is a nice improvement.

you would have 23 daisy chains with 12 eth cables each.

using 2 sub nets.

if you have a good 48 port switch and chain 12 per 47 ports with subnets added way way easier than before.  and more then 560 units a switch.

finding the optimum daisy chain would be good.  maybe it is 100 which is 4700 per 48 port switch.   you just need a better quality eth cable maybe a cat 6 not a 5 or a 5e.

How about the original email that was used to register your account with, what happened with it? Do you still have access to it?
According to the new procedure having access to the original email can be a way to verify you are the original owner of an account.

That is interesting.
16576  Economy / Goods / Re: Mining Shed for Sale on: July 03, 2019, 03:00:01 PM
Hello all,

I have a shed that was used for mining that i need to sell. Its located in Orlando Florida. The shed was bought new by me. Its 10x30. As you can see in the pictures i have added 13 exhaust fans of various sizes. The shed is wired with 48 outlets at 240v and 5 120v outlets for the lights, network gear etc. It also has built in surge protectors for all the outlets. I have 2 underground rated cat cables running into the shed as well. As you can also see from the pictures i have 31 ventilation cutouts in the floor to pull in fresh air. At one point i had close to 400 video cards and a hand full of ant miners and in the middle of the Florida sun the ambient temp in the shed was no more than 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

The shed is fairly easy to move, it was literally drop off on the back of a trailer pulled behind a pick up truck.

If you are interested in taking a look at it or have any other questions please send me a direct message.

Pictures are below

stryfe is a good buyer and in your state.  seems like a nice match up for the two of you.
16577  Other / Meta / Re: What is off topic? And is it spam to say congratulations/thank you? on: July 03, 2019, 02:54:07 PM
Thanks to you both. So I understand a pattern is just saying congrats or thank you is low quality. But I have seen many people saying congrats or thank-you.

I have spent most of my time in politics and society and those posts tend to be rather long. If anybody checked my posts they could see it wasn't a pattern.

I started a signature campaign I have to go outside. It's all new and all interesting. And also I had lost some money in a mining venture so I was interested in seeing what they had. I did not post all day as now it seems too risky I certainly couldn't contribute anything technical but it doesn't seem fair to delete the one time I said congrats and what is the music you're using.

Thanks I will P.M. them.

You have a signature campagin and the post is not worth much.

Asking op via pm would be more appropriate then what you did.

I just saw this one on craigslist - they appear to be close to me and I am tapped out for the moment on buying miners until I upgrade my building or get a new one built or sell off my S9's lol but if anyone else is brave enough to trust CL or can travel to the location it might be worth it.

that's a good deal.

My mom and step dad lived in fort meyers.

but they are gone to the cloud in the sky.
