I know I have a couple with original boxes and a lot of games too. Will have to double check the version next week once I get home.
Are you after games too?
1662  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling here? on: March 27, 2017, 10:39:11 PM
You could try finding an escrow who would be willing to accept the package themselves. That way they can confirm that they received the item as described and they could then send it on to the buyer with or without tracking.
There are definitely ways to go about this problem albeit not necessarily convenient ones. Generally speaking, trusted members can usually be trusted so there's shouldn't be too much concern when selling to them. As far as non-trusted members go, maybe escrow is the only way forward..
1663  Economy / Goods / Re: *New User* *Discord Marketplace* on: March 27, 2017, 10:00:50 PM
Sure. No problem at all.
The way escrow work is as follows. Both members involved in the sale mutually agree on another forum member who would act as the escrow.
The buyer would then send the payment to the escrow and once the escrow receives the funds, the seller then ships the item to the buyer. Once the buyer receives the goods, the escrow released the funds to the seller.
In other words, the escrow acts as a middle man protecting both the buyer and seller by ensuring they both get their part of the agreed deal.
1664  Economy / Goods / Re: *New User* *Discord Marketplace* on: March 26, 2017, 10:20:27 PM
You mention that you won't send first but you make no mention of whether or not you would accept a trusted escrow for the transaction.
I'd be interested if you could clarify on that.
You said you won't be comfortable sending any goods without receiving payment, many others won't feel comfortable with sending payment without using an escrow...
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin be replaced, at least temporarily, by Ether? on: March 26, 2017, 06:10:37 AM
Since you brought up the Coke/Pepsi example ill stick with that too.
Coke has always been more successful than Pepsi although there was a time when Pepsi had a lot of great ads. The same is true with BTC and ETH.
Currently ETH is having a good spree given recent events regarding BTC, but expect that only in the short term. ETH will have its supporters just like Pepsi does, but it will never be near as much as BTC (in this case, coke).
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: Populous.co Development Bounties on: March 26, 2017, 06:07:08 AM
I could help with the English writing and translation (depending on the bounty). Let me know if you are interested and once the information has been updated. Thanks
1667  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How to confirm that bitcoins have been transferred? (Android Bitcoin Game) on: March 26, 2017, 06:03:20 AM
From a technical side, I would say that you'd have to incorporate some code that would fetch data to check if the wallet has been funded.
One way to do this would be to auto-generate new wallets for every transaction and have the script check for 1-3 confirmations before verifying the payment. Thatvway no two transactions would get mixed up in the system. The Bitcoin transaction themselves would act as a unique payment ID in that sense.

From a practical side however, I would say that given the lengthy transaction times, is it worthwhile for your app? As much as I'm pro BTC, I can't see many people waiting 30+ minutes for an in-app purchase to process. That's just something to consider (unless you opt to go for a very high fee per every transaction but that would make the in-app purchases even pricier).
1668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buying ETH instead of shorting BTC - good idea? on: March 26, 2017, 12:53:35 AM
ETH has been having a good run lately but I think another correction is on the way. If you're in it for the short haul then I'd say wait it out until the price corrects itself. That way you can hold out until the next bubble before selling.
1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Paying taxes on Bitcoin - the IRS has a form, but Google can't find it! on: March 26, 2017, 12:51:26 AM
This is very interesting. How is the tax rate determined seeing as the value fluctuates a lot?
Are BTC profits from earlier years (when BTC wasn't worth much) exempt or are hey taxed to and if they're taxed are they taxed at their original value or present value?
1670  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: marketplace for digital products on: March 26, 2017, 12:43:06 AM
Your website is nice albeit a little clustered. Is it your own design or a script?
Regarding the business side of things, the idea is far from new and original. What USP does your site offer? Do you have a business plan for the investment you are after?
Thanks
1671  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Phoenix Coin on: March 24, 2017, 01:00:46 PM

Can somebody here please tell me how to determine whether a coin is loaded or not? Is there going to be an engraved address or QR in the coin?
It will have the first 8 digits of the address on so you can verify it that way.

Definitely a nice design.
A number of points to consider though.
If you're going for funded coins, then lower denominations may be more popular.
Having been said, given recent events, it may be more advisable to go with DIY coins unless you're prepared to somehow provide full transparency of your operations.

What he said.  Just my own opinion a loaded 1btc coin right now might be a hard sell even with a full description of your operation which is also a tough sell now too.  Good luck either way

Sure well these will be 5 troy OZ. There will be some smaller ones 0.1 BTC. Do you  think that is high still?

0.1BTC is a good denomination in my mind. Not too much and not too little.
Alternative you could leave the coin without any denomination and let users choose to fund it with as much as they please although having a uniform denomination would be nice.

1673  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Sellin Some of Me Crytos on: March 23, 2017, 04:31:17 PM
The cryptolator has been sold.
Other prices added to the OP.
Still unsure on prices for the Lealanas. I've received a few offers via PM but looking for a bit more to be able to convince myself to sort with them.

Thanks
Looking forward to the prices. Would you be maybe interested in running an auction for these items (separate within a thread, not a single lot)?

This is a possibility although I'll have to give it a think through.

damn .. too late ..;  i really would like to have one of those cryptolators ..   they got an awesome design ..

I had a bunch of them but have sold most of them already.
I have one left but wasn't really looking to sell it. It's #500/500 so I'd need a convincing offer to part with it.

Thanks
Sent a PM. Interested in the Lealana 5 LTC set Smiley

1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: The rush to sell is real on: March 18, 2017, 07:41:28 PM
I don't think many people are on edge. The Bitcoin price is constantly fluctuating and the recent rise was always going to correct itself. Either way, no matter how low we fall, we will always recover even if it takes a while. HODL HODL HODL...
The only people panic selling are those in it for the short haul. They'll buy back in once the price rises again. We on the other hand are here to stay. That involves riding each wave as they come. The peaks and troughs included.
1677  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nearly $2 billion has been wiped off bitcoin’s value in three days on: March 18, 2017, 07:25:42 PM
I stopped using Yahoo as a news source long ago for numerous reasons including their terrible articles.
What significance does this have? The news outlets always focus on the wrong points and portray BTC in the negative light.
There's a much bigger picture that needs to be painted which is not limited to whether or not the BU have any say over a potential fork.
Yahoo clearly needed content to publish so settled on this out of urgency.
1678  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Social Media Services Website on: March 17, 2017, 01:42:05 PM
I don't get the point in this. The market is already fully saturated and unless you can come up with a game changer of a site I don't see how you'll stand out.
To be honest, to me it seems like a dying market anyway given that bots are being used increasingly to detect fake/shill accounts.
1679  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Casascius issues - Dollar Premium estimates - all in one place.... on: March 17, 2017, 04:23:05 AM

0.1 BTC Silver
2013
Funded 800
Redeemed 8
Active 792

Fairly scarce. At a guess I would say these should command something like a US$ 200 premium over the BTC content.
I don't think I have ever seen a cas dime sell for 0.37BTC...

There have been a few auctions for ungraded Cas tenths on the forum lately and the prices seem to have gone for between 0.37-0.5 BTC a piece.
Again, those lower prices are due to the rise in BTC value.
1680  Other / Off-topic / Re: Good places to advertise crypto related stuff on: March 16, 2017, 12:49:42 PM
It all depends on what you are advertising but if it's crypto related then you'd want to keep it to crypto related sites.
You could try buying ad space on quite a few sites (but bear in mind that the bigger sites with wider audiences will be a little more costly).

coinmarketcap.com
coinwarz.com
coinmarketcap.com
coindesk.com
99bitcoins.com

As well as many other crypto news related sites.
Alternatively you could try buying ad space on Reddit which are focussed on certain subs. And as others have mentioned, various crypto related forums too.
