1661  Other / Beginners & Help / Gibs me some charity on: June 22, 2011, 01:57:41 PM
I've been inspired by all the hands out charity cases up in here so I thought I'd relay my own sob story to try and get some charity bitcoin!

You see, I was born into a large family of 17. Pappy left us when I was just 2, he ran off with a monkey or something. Mammy had to feed us all herself by selling popcorn individually to passing rich folk's children. She worked 23.9 hours a day without sleep. And when she did came home she was too tired to feed us. We had to eat pictures of food we found in magazines... if we were lucky!

When I got older I was forced to find work fixing tyres using my bear hands. My hands are so fucked up that I know now I will never be a surgeon or be any good at the children's game "operation". But it was enough to buy bear essentials such a toilet paper etc.

Either way if you all could find it in your hearts to send me some bitcoin, I can spend it looking after some injured llamas I have adopted from a bankrupt zoo.

Oh lawdy praise be to your generosity!

Only a bit more difficult. The main problem is getting the secondary ATX PSU to turn on, since the motherboard won't be connected to it. You can use something like this:

http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/other/22

You'll want the secondary one to turn on before the system starts booting up too.

Hey thanks buddy! I wasn't sure that it would work.. ha ha sweet!

Hey everyone. I'm building a monster rig with 4 5770s. The main problem is power. It seems far more cost effective to strap 2 600W PSUs together on the same mobo. But does anyone know how? I mean it must be more difficult than just plugging them into the GPUs yes?

There does seem to be arbitrage opportunity, I guess it's how easy you can get into the market that will make the difference. Leg risk and all that.
1665  Other / Beginners & Help / Overclocking ATI on: June 21, 2011, 06:58:33 PM
Hey, just thought I'd share a great link on how to overclock ATI cards on Linux:

http://www.overclock.net/linux-unix/517861-how-overclocking-ati-cards-linux.html

Pretty much got a 10% boost on my 5770 system with this, but I'm getting sporadic flickering on one monitor like the GPU is going nuts. Temperature is ok though.
Waddya reckon, push the GPU further or take it easy from here on?

So long as everyone knows exactly what it is, I seen it as no different to any other form of gambling. That's what it is really, just gambling
1667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is best bitcoins pool? on: June 21, 2011, 04:44:09 PM
BitcoinPool has no fees. I've liked them so far.

Eligius also has no fees, but has the advantage of being the easiest to set up. No account creation necessary, just set up your mining script with your wallet # as username and start mining.

I'm with bitcoinpool. It's not the most stable place, going down like a yoyo it seems. But I'm getting paid. And that's what matters

Just going to say hallo, jumped on the bitcoin mining wagon. Still stunned by the gormless look on the faces of the lumpen that I try and tell about it. The masses take so long to catch on to great ideas that it is truely painful to behold. It's like the internet all over again.
