...[stuff]....
That's not very friendly user experience, that's all.
Point in fact, if you don't like the web page(s) that your fellow miner and/or the 0-fee pool op wrote for free (out of the kindness of their hearts), you can always sit down and write a better one on your own time....

Or mine solo on your own node. ckpool seems to attract people who really get  the payout system, or it just really hard to grab at first. The point is the pool discourages hoppers, rewards you for every share submitted. Just takes time to ramp up to earn it and being a smaller pool time to find a block. Who knows maybe we'll double up like in March.
1663  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [120PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 08, 2018, 03:13:17 PM
One block quickly can change our luck % pretty heavily. We've already gone through a slow point in April and with the added hash we're really moving now. 140 PH currently is like 600% increase to pool in the last 10 days or so (from 20-30ish?). Those who have been around it should seem to come quickly those just getting here may find it hard to bare the wait. We did shave a rough 15 day block expectation to 9 or 10 days with the growth in pool. If we lose another 2-3 days of wait now that's exceptional. We'll see how the math gods treat us.

Also before we get a worked up, remember this is a free pool. Any work done here is on the time of people not getting paid to do so. If you're not clear on how the pool works, I would read the home page and read through the thread, catch up and start conversation.

I'm a novice but I look at the work page to see if i'm in payment and check my user stats periodically. This isn't designed to be a pool to page watch, and refresh a lot. Your miners will take time to ramp up, but your still stacking herp for the block, as catch up to the pool in derp. I feel it's only a poor experience if you choose it to be, everyone here is pretty cool.

We didn't see a 100 MOQ either on their announcement. Regardless we have this listed for single unit and 100 unit group buys. We'll know more once they list for sales on their own actual website. But knowing how they gouge on shipping and poor pricing structure to market they'll probably just mine on these themselves for awhile.

This is just so wrong to see

Grats ckpool!!

And yes, they need to change that sig.  ..
1666  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 4 pin fan for antminer on: June 06, 2018, 05:16:52 PM
The 4 pin is not essential unless you want fan speed control. What others here said is correct, you want to meet the spec of the fan to replace. A 3 pin fan with same or similar specs will suffice you just won't be able to the control the fan speed.
1667  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remote access to miners on: June 06, 2018, 04:57:45 PM
If you have a computer at each location on the same network as the miners chrome remote desktop app is a cheap solution. Not sure how secure it is but would work just fine.

1668  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [80 PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 06, 2018, 01:53:46 PM
Although I feel it's poor form for a company to mine on a small community pool. I had already thought it's bad enough minefarmbuy is here, even though I did get one of their promo s9's a little while back. LOL

Just kidding btw, any small loss will be made up if they stick it out and mine farm guy is just on their personal rigs? Not company? Regardless we're about due for block soon.

Most of brokers the here at mfb don't mine and just are hodlers. The company doesn't mine at all as we don't carry inventory and try to ship directly as much as we can. Alleviating need for any warehousing or storage.

I mine here personally yes, but I'm not even top 20. I think my loss from the the large added hash is maybe 10 usd (or less now) if we hit a block today. It looks like my derp is starting to gain again since our pool hash rate is stabilizing.

More current note: Let the battle of the "Phil's" commence!!
1669  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [40 PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 04, 2018, 03:49:53 PM
Using a car analogy is like hitting the gas peddle on the highway. We gain speed and ramp up and then ramp down, think of 20 PH as our cruising speed. If anything statistically we should get to our destination sooner even if they leave before a block. Of course there is luck factor, good and bad. The premise is always the same.

People are going to hop into and out of any pool. The difference here is your share is much less affected over time than anywhere else because of ramp up.
1670  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: June 02, 2018, 09:34:06 PM
We haven't received 100 MOQ yet for an order to get exact numbers but 130-150 usd is about standard shipping cost for their per unit asics. But inputting location is about 10.8k usd in shipping from what I remember for the T2.

It's nice to advertise the fastest asic in market but MAP on their products is closer to retail pricing compared to how other manufacturers structure theirs. Unless they plan to keep a static price through market fluctuations. Which would negate the argument during a bull market that other asics have better ROI or return as in theory one wouldn't be able to acquire considerably more hashing for the same amount of funds but is still dependent on T2 price staying static.

ie. 2x s9i hashing for 28th/s for roughly 1.9k usd with shipping & customs or even less with coupons.

Granted at BTC prices now with two s9i's are just barely more profitable than on T2 but ROI is about 100 days sooner with 2 s9i's at MAP now (our two promotional s9i available would put ROI at 230 something days at .10/kw).

I suppose to sum up my thoughts, Innosilicon needs to compete in price and offer quicker ROI to users to take market share now while they have the advantage of power and efficiencies in available asics for consumers. As this advantage wont last long.

The T2 is still at least 200 usd overpriced to match ROI on the 2x s9i example. Even still if your spending 170k on mining equipment you more so care about total hash more so than I imagine on efficiency. Buying double the unit count for 1.1k th/s more for same amount of money is worth it now and in prep for bull market (200x s9i's vs. 100x T2).

If I was Innosilicon I would match the Canaan listing of less than 1.2k per unit and sell out of these now but they're the masters of their own fate.

Someone happen to know if it plays nicely with US 110 volt and if not, which PSU would work here?

If the firmware allows "efficiency mode" like the Halong T1 then it might be in a safe range to use 110v with EVGA OR Corsair 1600 watt PSU  assuming your home wiring and breaker can accommodate.

Minimum in my opinion would be 20 amp line ran with 12 gauge. If able, dedicate the circuit to the miner. Will of course be a fire hazard, but the 1600 watt mentioned psu's should run it on 110v. Down clocking would be a great idea.
1673  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: June 02, 2018, 05:02:39 PM
Overpriced as always without chance to roi

100 pieces at 1599 = 159900 plus 2100 shipping 162000 and 3% tax to USA comes to 166800

Innosilicons website is showing close to 11k usd shipping charge for MOQ. Per unit would be just over 1.7k including shipping. Adding customs in at 3% is roughly 175k usd for MOQ. Unless their shipping charge is not correct.
1674  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: May 31, 2018, 03:14:31 PM
Innovation is what it is. There's no right or wrong.

Regardless, transparency is a best practice in any good business. It might be pompous to assume that people actually know what their buying but then you'll always be disappointed by people in any regard and is why you shouldn't assume people know anything.

I'm in favor of advertised hashrate should be achievable in any pool. If you're a company trying to drive AB it would be best to market: "x ths/y ths w/AB" so to speak. I don't feel there's any real deception happening that's just a matter of perception/experience.

We'll see how this asic does as we listed it a few days ago. Price is to high for market with proven hardware out there, actually all of Inno's products seem inflated and their shipping prices are pretty extreme.

1.7k usd with shipping per unit in 100 MOQ. Maybe if it were a 20 th/s unit.

Edit add:

And you know you're going to get hit with import/customs on a 100 unit order.
1675  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [20 PH] ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: May 31, 2018, 01:22:42 AM
It's all math anyway Fugio you'll earn the same reward here. Best time to fully swap to Ckpool is once power is paid and you have 4 good weeks ramp up and earn a couple blocks while you do. If you're on slush it's even easier, just drop everything here since their ramp down is only 60 min. no reason to wait once your ready.

Looking now we're at a nice 20+ PH, since I've been here (just a few weeks or is it months now?) we've been growing pretty steadily. I love seeing pod miners here to, very nice community pool and dashboard that gets you doing other things than checking an app or HUD for blocks and luck. Makes finding a block even more satisfying and enjoyable to.
1676  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Samsung confirms they’re developing ASIC’s on: May 28, 2018, 09:38:01 PM
AFAIK in 2014 in the US the FTC went after a PC maker for a selling PC that was also mining in the background. Someone like eMachines or Peoples PC with the mining being done to (in theory) lower the price of the machine or rental contract for it. Point is, even though the Fine Print made mention of the mining aspect the company was still forced to stop and paid a very hefty fine of several million $. I do believe that particular case is why none of the space heater makers have done the obvious thing that could work as long as they make it crystal clear what the miner/heater is doing and provide the associated info on how to get a wallet, where to point the miner/heater at, etc.

Then again, remember VCR's and how most folk's were blinking 12:00 all the time?..... Perhaps to deal with the technology-challenged everyday person, as a default have the miner/heaters mine for a charity wallet like Shriners or whatever is regional to the miners.

Could also use warranty registration as a means to set up pay outs for end users.
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Just started mining on: May 28, 2018, 01:49:45 AM
Thanks for your post but this will probably be moved to the altcoin sections of the mining forum since gpu miners typically don't mine bitcoin even if it is how you may have Nice Hash paying you out.

Bitcoin runs on SHA 256 algo and your probably (confidently) mining some other coin better suited for GPU's.

To answer your questions:

-Up to you.
-Research or as ask more specific questions.
-Depends on a lot of factors. Most will use whattomine.com for estimations.

Good luck.

1678  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 17.2TH/s, 1570W Innosilicon announces the most powerful and efficient BTC Miner on: May 27, 2018, 06:04:27 PM
Innosilicon hasn't been too bad to work with but other manufacturers are much, much easier. Take this perspective with a grain of salt as we have only been placing orders with them for a week or so but seems routine thus far and shipping confirms are coming as expected.

In agreement though that a 17th/s unit is pretty irrelevant in market, unless extremely competitive in price with current asics. More excited for more announcements and improved efficiencies. It would be nice if manufacturers took a more traditional approach to wholesale pricing but we can't expect that to change anytime soon.

Where did you all see the MOQ listing? I can forward this to our web and see if their wanting to list for group buys but I think we all can agree there might not be much interest.

1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer Z9 BATCH TWO Shipping August 24th- Sep.4th 1520 USD on: May 17, 2018, 12:15:22 AM
We still have available units for batch one still. August seems way to long to wait even at 1.5k directly from Bitmain but then they haven't sold out so maybe Aug is fine. Speculation is hot topic around here.

I GPU farm ZEC personally, so if you mine equihash coins I'd hold for pump and be ready to dump. We're seeing a spurt of pump already as the market has been uncharacteristically bullish the last couple days compared to other coins (watching Kraken tickers).

Be interesting to watch how he hash is spread and see what devs decide to do. ZEC though isn't going to fork till FY'19 so you can bet asics will at least have that haven for 6 months or more.
