1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin OGs, Can We Please Practice What we Preach? on: November 14, 2023, 08:17:26 PM
A lot of scam and hacking happen everyday and it's not new that most people who claim to be bitcoin security advisers still end up not following the right security strategy in saving their keys. What matters is following the right instruction ushered by these people. Whether the influencer practice it doesn't matter anymore. It's a sad experience to have meddled with that of his dad's investment too. Many people behave this way, until they become the victim of hackers. What would you say about those who still have millions stored on exchanges, despite all the alarms spreading in the market concerning not saving funds on exchanges.  It only describes how these people show less care about their privacy. And still believe they're safe. It only worries me to hear such situations as these. Isn't it awkward that he must have bragged about the amount of bitcoin he possess elsewhere. Maybe in a social club or forum. Since he's telling the world about his loss, that means he's been taking his bitcoin holdings publicly too. So, I wouldn't blame those who still doubt if he's saying the truth or not.  Because he looks like a person seeking attention or finding traffic. Why did his coin get lost exactly 11 years since holding. If he's been saving such an amount using an online wallet or a less secure technique, then he must have experienced such a set back long ago. However, it's bad to kick a fallen man. He still gets my benefit of doubt. I'd say that people should take custody of their decision. No one should be blamed for saying what they don't practice. It could be their decision. A lot of people still promote what they do not use.
1662  Economy / Economics / Re: Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age on: November 13, 2023, 10:54:56 PM
There's no market strategy as best as using the social media for making advertisements, now we are in the era of advanced technology development and people are making alot of opportunities out in making the use of the internet to market themselves, there's no way you won't see people on the social media each time they are online browsing on different platforms, and the most of this target is the advantage of covering a larger percentage of people with this target.
The most important and useful thing about digital marketing is that it allows advertisers and promoters to have the targeted ads feature which enables them to target a specific audience for their ads and promotions based on the product and service that they are selling so that their ads are only shown to people that are already interested in that product or service which increases the chances of getting more conversions through the ads they are running.

In traditional ways of promoting or advertising products and services, there weren't such things available. A brand or a company could only run TV or radio ads or have their product or service advertised through billboards and stuff and almost everyone would see them whether they are interested in it or not.

Building brands on social media is quite an effective method of reaching out and interacting with customer complaints. Multiple amounts of brands use social media as a tool to build a strong fan base of clients. Which is the best form of marketing these days; community. But, considering social media Ads as the best form of marketing isn't quite true. As this could eat up or cost us lots of money without bringing sales for a long time. Though the ads are great, if the advertisers know how to set up campaigns. In digital marketing I'd recommend link building. Because these links would remain on the website forever, and continue to yield leads, so far the site is still alive. Marketing has never been easy, even during the traditional days of marketing. It gets difficult everyday. Due to the enormous increase in competitors. Our greatest competitor are the bots. That's why social media marketing can be less effective compared to SEO. Bots are all over the social media space and the impressions we get in Ads are mostly them, bots. Hence, while it requires so much time to get leads online, it worth the time spent. What matters is teaching through writing and maintaining consistency. The brand would gradually gain fans and followers. Thereby reducing the amount of money they would have been spending on Ad if they hadn't built a fan base.
1663  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: November 13, 2023, 10:16:44 PM
The question is what are the possible means of securing our businesses and at same time saving the bitcoin made through the services we render?
There are possible ways which we can secure our businesses and still save Bitcoin made through the services, like an artist who creates awesome arts can secure his or her business through selling the art works using Bitcoin as payment, I have seen people who sold some art works for Bitcoin. had through this same means set up there art business career, teach people how to create this awesome arts and having their business held up in their local areas & online and at the same time saving Bitcoin through that means. People tend to be successful when they offer a particular services to the world at large and when you have a skill that serves the masses you can secure a business very fast and easy as long as you have build yourself to a standard it's very hard to be replaced.
Then you can save Bitcoin from your services using it as a payment method.

I was thinking of having a different business that generates fiat while running the bitcoin business. You've got a great idea, by expanding the business. But, we'll still have to sell those bitcoin to push the business via adverts and paying assistants working with us. You'd notice that the bitcoin will still not be saved 100 percent. Which is the idea behind this thread.  Because looking at the growth of bitcoin selling them is a huge loss to the business and the entrepreneur. It hurts looking back like trying to change the hand of time and seeing how much bitcoin has been spent in running a business. Like the above example, 12 BTC spent 11 years ago. Though, no matter how we regret it's quite too late. That's why a second method of safe guarding, for a long time, the bitcoin earned. While running along with it a fiat business that can as well be used to maintain the other world business. Running a business that generates bitcoin without requiring us to spend those coins is the best means of hodling bitcoin. Talking about art, I've seen arts on bitcoin that rarely get bought. Unless during the era of NFTs. But, for artists that draw and ask bitcoin as a payment method it's a nice way of generating bitcoin. If they have different source of income, then their whole life doing the business they'll see no reason selling those coins.
1664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 13, 2023, 09:50:48 PM
The family went to some certain extent to help their ward, but that won't be so effective, even if they published his face on famous TV shows. He'd find his way to gamble in a more private manner. Your number 2 question, OP, determines the reaction of the player when in possession of huge amount of money. If he loves his family, nothing stops him from showing them love after making it big in gambling. Especially to teach them that gambling can be good in yielding wealth. But, the reaction of his family isn't conducive by any way because it won't help the player to stop being a compulsive gambler. They're multiple ways of building relation with a friend or brother who is following the wrong route in gambling. They need to create an internal emotional relationship with him, thereby discussing with him about his difficulties and why he's chosen to be such a gambler with little or no regards to the bad effects it brings to his family. Better still refer him to a therapist, that will keep him busy by interacting with him. Embarrassing him in such a way isn't helpful. To me it's embarrassing to publish his pictures all over the neighborhood. This could cause him to be depressed. Friends and colleagues laughing and making mockery of him and the family. I think this will not only affect the boy, but the family members too. Gambling addiction can't be stopped forcefully. Suing the shop owners will only cause them to waste more money; similar to the player using it to gamble. In a nutshell, I don't buy such an embarrassing idea.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 13, 2023, 09:05:50 PM
I don't think so, bitcoin is mainly used as a peer to peer method of transaction. People trade bitcoin at a large number every day. And only a few percent of them hodl bitcoin in form of an investment. Those who do hodl for long are quite the investors of bitcoin and those who hodl for few days should be seen as the peer to peer traders. Aside those trading bitcoin on exchanges the peer to peer market still boom everyday. Most people due to the volatility of bitcoin use it as a form of investment, for profit purposes. And because people hear the massive gains they make through bitcoin, using it as an investment goes viral than trading it peer to peer. They're multiple methods of trading bitcoin peer to peer; swapping bitcoin to other coins, merchants offering products for bitcoin, and selling bitcoin to vendors for fiat. Each and everyone of us who are into bitcoin may have done such transaction, but only a few amongst us have held or have the intention to hold bitcoin for 5 to 10 years without selling. You see why those who hodl for few days or months still fall in the categories of bitcoin peer to peer trade I mentioned above. Given a specific period of loss or profit, they'll go back to sell their coin. Which is not a good functionalities or attributes of an investor. No doubt when bitcoin is mentioned most people would see it, in their perspective, as an investment. Yet practically, the ongoing peer to peer bitcoin transactions is on the increase. Just that it's not fully discussed or popular like when an investor shows the profits they've made from holding bitcoin for 5 years. That's why people are being told to hodl their coin.

1667  Economy / Economics / How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: November 13, 2023, 08:13:36 PM
Personally was going through some sales of mine in the past and the worth of the BTC I had spent few years back today. Thought about it, until I came across of a twitter influencer who also sold his products for bitcoin. And he mentioned he didn't hodl those bitcoin. But he worked strides ahead to build his business such that he'll hold every single bitcoin he made through sales. Same thing I linked to other people who sold products for bitcoin, many didn't hold their bitcoin. But, that's not the issue or problem. The question is what are the possible means of securing our businesses and at same time saving the bitcoin made through the services we render? Mainly I crafted out a new skill out of me that earns me local currency; fiat. Yet building a fresh business from scratch isn't easy, most often, I still use bitcoin to invest on the local online business. Still keep me yards back from achieving my goal of hodling bitcoin made through online business. Contribute your thoughts and personal experiences. As the influencer didn't elaborate how he made his possible.

1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 12, 2023, 06:00:02 AM

It's a personal choice and a good number of people you expect to answer your question don't own a gambling business. But, looking at the lifestyles of gambling shop owners they mainly focus on running the business and attending to customer's problems. Not everyone feed on their product. It'll be at a minimal, as it'll look like cheating on themselves. When they win or lose, it doesn't count.  Though, in the movies, gambling owners do participate in board games to at least keep their customers entertained. Hence, in real life, people tend to continue playing when they see the owner also participate in games. In other words, few of them don't gamble, but, when they do, it could be a marketing strategy.

not seen an owner sitting on the table to play but i guess to fill one chair i guess he can join so that it appears there are players.  why not, they have money to spend. the baccarat game and the likes are like the owner/casino vs players.

they were hiring influencers to play on their website to promote the casino as well. the money used by the influencer comes from the owner, i think this is just like him playing in his own casino. the purpose is just different though.

Similar to what I referred initially as promotional purposes. And when the owner plays such games as baccarat it's like competing with himself. Which is not considered gambling anymore. Only a few of them do play table games, that's why most people like yourself may not have seen them play. Yet, it's important for the owner to occasionally gamble, so that he can effectively communicate with gamblers with terminologies understood by them. This will help retain some customers. Especially when in an offline casino settings.

I've seen newbies creating long copy and paste threads, which ends up not being attended to because of the plagiarism and the volume of the thread, and as well the OP not following up with what they've said to back up the knowledge shared. And when after investing hours creating those threads, the applauds they expected doesn't appear, they'll feel not being good enough. Enjoy the process.
I see it less necessary to create topic thread as a lower rank member, my thoughts should still be based on reading and trying to gain much knowledge.
I won't call it lack of self confidence but I think at this my level of ranking am not even at a very good position to create threads and start teaching because I see very well experienced members which am not yet qualified to teach them because I still have a lot to learn from them. So I do more good than harm of reading, answering and asking questions that Is of utmost interest
It's crucial to begin from the learning aspect than teaching when we are not fully informed about the topic. Focusing on learning is always important here. For the time being read gradually and follow instruction. Good you are doing more of research than teaching at the moment. And when you do, teach, it'll be nice to always understand the topic very well, so that when you follow up the discussion, it'll help you understand better.

You are right mate, I know how many days, even got to a month that I kept watching and learning about the activities here before I was able to make threads and even reply topics here it really isn't easy at all as everything will look so scanty in the eyes like it feels like someone who is in another part of the world as it isn't what people outside this forum are thinking that you will be thinking, your approach and lifestyle begins to change as soon as one join this life changing forum.

Your discussion with people changes and tend to even interact more with people here than outside here. It's really a great experience and I'm glad I found this transforming forum and I would really want to thank the people that made this forum a reality and stood strong for many years now though I don't know all of you but as you'll can see your efforts are yielding fruits.
It's not easy to adapt to a fresh community or environment. Especially in this forum, it only gets easier if we follow it consistently. Trying to take the whole learning at once would be hectic and enormous. And I can relate with the way the this forum changes our behaviors and contributes to our interactive stamina with other people, especially when discussing about bitcoin. The wealth of knowledge shared in this forum, helps members to at least contribute to any discussion in the real world. It's quite an interesting place to learn and spend our time.

1672  Other / Beginners & Help / Enjoy being a newbie on: November 11, 2023, 03:45:59 PM
The forum is mainly concerned about newbies, and a lot of beginners' questions has been tackled by intelligent and worthy top ranked members. As a newbie it feels good deep down our thoughts to craft a difficult looking thread to please the high ranked members. But, that doesn't make us newbies. Though, silly or repeated questions are not welcomed in the forum. Yet, they're some easy questions we would want to ask as newbies, but because it makes us sound as true novice, we'd want to bypass asking them. As we'd want to show the forum members, we're doing enough research and reading about bitcoin and the forum entirely. And, most times such threads, centering on teaching, may not help us as newbies because what we tend to teach we can't relate or follow up in the discussions.

Such things, has caused many newbies to fall for plagiarism and as well dumping their threads without participating in the discussions happening under the thread. Being a newbie in the forum is almost a one time experience for every member and we must behave as one. Feel free to ask those questions that sounds and looks too simple to you. That's mainly what other members would entertain and send us reasonable advises and responses to. Thereby, gradually helping your learning process in the forum, with lesser stress.

Coining out a thread on what we don't fully understand, just to stand out, and look like a very intelligent newbie may not help our growth in the forum. Because this section is mostly visited by every member to entertain and answer questions from newbies. And because most basic bitcoin knowledge may have skipped our minds we tend to refresh our memories here, by providing those answers to simple questions. Hence, I'd encourage newbies to always come up with those questions, which they think is too basic or simple and need not to be asked. Feel like a newbie as it's a one time experience here, you'd learn faster when you admit and accept being a newbie.

1673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 10, 2023, 11:17:53 AM
Gambling helps critical thinking, which is also a good skill in the job industry and real life. It's always good to have our thoughts fast and accurate. That's why critical thinking is also very vital in our daily life. When we acquire such a skill, it's as good as winning in gambling. Because we'll always be needed in difficult tasks and situation where people don't actually know what step to take. As a gambler we can make fast decisions in life, which will turn out to be great. So, the importance of gambling to gamblers is enormous and such threads as this, is good in reminding gamblers that they'll definitely benefit a lot, beside playing to win cash. Playing gambling as a way of relaxation, helps, is quite better than just playing to win money. The money, to me, is secondary. More is attributed to gambling, that's why many people still involve in gambling despite losing money. Voluntarily or involuntarily.
1674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Joining this forum has widen my horizon about Bitcoin . on: November 10, 2023, 10:04:35 AM
The forum is known for increasing the knowledge of members or participants, due to the large number of bitcoiners in the community. A whole lot of problems, and questions has been solved and answered in the forum. Any newbie that comes to the forum would at first think that bitcoin is about trading and investment. But, on the long going would realize the underground tech behind bitcoin. How miners work and what mining is all about in approving bitcoin transactions. Multiple bitcoin learning links are being spread round the forum for new members to read. If they read those links, their horizon will expand. They'll definitely see the deeper aspect of bitcoin. Though, it doesn't end there, but it'll put them somewhere ahead their peers, when it comes bitcoin discussion. What matters is consistently reading the bitcoin information, trends and updates. Because once we stop reading, our knowledge of bitcoin decreases as well.

1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:43:30 AM
Copenhagen showed that it is not the weak team in Group A with its 4-3 victory. Manchester took a 0-2 lead, but Rashford's red card changed the balance of the match. In my personal opinion, if there were 10 men left, Manu would probably have won the match. In the other match, Galatasaray played well again, but could not take advantage of the positions it found in the first half. The match ended 0-0 until the 80th minute. Bayern took the lead with Kane in the 80th minute. The linesman made a review because he said he was offside. (According to Var's decision, the referee called the goal first and was examined once more during the kick-off. Again, the goal was decided.) The match between Galatasaray and Manchester in Turkey may determine the final shape of the group. If Manu is defeated, he will say goodbye to the Champions League in the group stage.
Man Utd loss against Copenhagen had pushed them to the bottom of the table thus with a very slim chance of qualifying to the next round, possibly a third position would qualify them for Europa league, obviously this is a woeful performance by the team against a lowly rated Copenhagen honestly Man Utd had not live up to expectations in UCL this season even in the premier league which could be attributed to the team lack of winning mentality and fighting spirit or possibly their players action was deliberate just to trigger the sacking of their manager Erik ten Hag of course he has to take part of the blame too, well the next few matches would possibly make the board and management of the club take a decision.
And that's a decision the whole club fans will be waiting for because the saga that is happening inside the team is getting out of hand, it's almost as if all the players in the club are actually really for the coach ten hag and they have also been insight that he lacks proper and healthy relationship with his players which is actually the key to growing a strong and consistent teams in terms of winning games.

The Manchester United Coach made multiple unfavorable decisions for his team. Looking at the beginning of the game Man U came out strong, but great changes occurred in the field after Rashford left the pitch due to red card. What stopped the coach from substituting for a better player who can handle the defense of the team? Allowing a 2:2 equalization in the first half, shows, indeed, how bad the defense became. On the one side, I'd say that Man United belittled the power of their opponent, that was why they lost the game. Because, looking at their attacking force, they felt relaxed believing that they'll win after adding 3:2 to the game. Copenhagen became wild around 80 minutes where they dealt with Man U and defeated them. It was too late for Man u to bounce back, because they already felt winning was on their side. Both the players and the coach didn't add extra effort in winning the game. Wan Bissaki happened to be the only hardworking player from the man united side. He applied energy and skill in his game, but to no avail. Many of his team mates didn't realize the power of moving all defense, after they scored their third goal. Look at how Tottenham worked hard against Chelsea after receiving 2 red cards. Despite losing the game, you'd notice the energy and skills they exerted towards Chelsea. Manchester United wasn't that way in their game.
1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 04:16:34 PM
I don't remember informing non bitcoin investors about my investment in bitcoin. Personally, I discuss bitcoin with bitcoin users. Being discouraged can be bad for people who wish to hold bitcoin. Since, they'll always hold us back from investing into bitcoin, because they fail understand how it works. It's not conducive to tell them about our moves in the first place. Hence, for those who open up to others about their moves in bitcoin, it's important to follow Op's advise. As not taking our choice can be detrimental to us on the long run, when we've seen that their advises only made us to lose out on huge profits.
1679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Would you Like Your Pension Paid in Bitcoin? on: November 07, 2023, 03:26:13 PM
I understand how it feels OP, but the duration of 3 years is still ok, but quite not a big duration to make you lots of money. Regarding the amount of money you've saved in your pension account. I've experienced that first hand in the case of my parents. They've been saving up on their pension account for more than 20 years and the generated amount wasn't anything if they had saved the money in bitcoin. Although, it's all on a different dimension of thoughts. Not every company would want to do that for their workers. In the terms that the worker saves the money themselves, they would have done that in bitcoin. One good thing about the banks or pension companies they'll hold the money until the specific time has reached before disbursing it. But, if you did that in bitcoin, how sure are you that the funds would be there till 3 years without being spent by you. That's in the case where you're in-charge of saving the funds. It's all good having such thoughts in mind, yet if we didn't take such choice. Then, nothing else can be done about it. Especially, when we are aware of spending the money. We all wants to be millionaires, that's why we tend to feel sad when we miss such an opportunity.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 06, 2023, 11:37:57 PM
Was a feeling Chelsea would win but never expected Jackson to score an hatrick, when last a Chelsea player/striker did that in Epl. Chelsea really need him to be consistent then hope of getting to top 4 would be possible
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea, was the referee decision, Michael Oliver fair enough? Or did he practically triggered favoritism on the visitor's side? There's alot of questions to sight concerning the game but we should also look at the brighter side of Chelsea, Nicolas Jackson hitting his first hat-trick for the Blues, that's one of the incredible way to bounce back to peak in league games. Angelos Postecoglou didn't see that coming, his side lost to the visitors 4-1 with two red cards. At first, I was frightened by the tremendous lineup of Tottenham Hotspur because mere looking at their previous games, they were on streak winnings. Chelsea epic comeback was one of the best game so far this season.

The epic comeback of Chelsea started from the first Tottenham offside goal. If that was a goal, I don't think Chelsea would have made it that far in the game. Because looking at the beginning of the game, Tottenham had better opportunity to win. But lost a lot of it. Viewers can't deny that the game was mainly on the unfair decision of the referee. The offsides from VAR wasn't an offside from the first angle, but later when they turned the view of offside, it seemed to be an offside. Tottenham after losing about 2 players and one injured player. They didn't relent until the stopping time, where song lost his equalizing goal. Such lost brought downfall on Tottenham. More goals started. It wasn't a fair game in my view. Playing 11 against 9 doesn't signify a strong, satisfying game.
