1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quote prices in Bitcoin or Satoshi on: June 16, 2023, 03:33:48 PM
Using BTC or mBTC is better than using sat.

Another alternative would be to quote the price in Sterling, and include a link to a conversion site such as coinbase or XE. Do any of you guys list low cost items in Bitcoin?
This is a very good idea, estimating the price in Sterling and if the person wants to pay in bitcoin, he can click on the item to see the price in both BTC and Sterling.

Do any of you guys list low cost items in Bitcoin?
You have the option to pay in Sterling, that should not be a problem because using bitcoin is just an alternative. You can also include lightning network payment if you can do that, this will encourage paying low price products in bitcoin.

1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Lender Abra Has Been Insolvent for Months on: June 16, 2023, 09:57:48 AM
What I noticed is that people should be aware of crypto lending platforms,. The bull market is good for them but most of them were not able to survive during bear market. Crypto are not like fiat because they are more volatile, especially the altcoins which are very volatile.

There are some platforms that can give APY return, like the exchanges, but they have one disadvantage of not your key not your coin. It is not worth going for, to invest on centralized online places.

The only one that I have considered better are the staking using noncustodial wallets, not the ones like decentralized exchanges which can be hacked. Such exploits are common these days than how custodial exchanges are hacked. But staking directly using wallet is good if gotten rightly and staking at the right time. The reward is daily, but bear market can result to losses.

If someone can be patient enough, he can go for bitcoin which is safer. Bitcoin requires speculation, it is not what people should just go into, it requires studying about it and knowing the right time to invest and hold your bitcoin on a noncustodial wallet instead which can even be cold wallet.

I too will tell people to be careful of those custodial services.

I have ran out of sympathy for people who still have their funds on these centralized scams exchanges and earning platforms. Absolute insanity by this point.
When I am talking to some of my friends, they are novice and they do not know much about safety. There are some I introduced to this forum which later found out that what they were doing before was wrong. Ignorance is the cause of many people's mistakes. If not because of the lessons I have learnt on this forum, I may just be like them too.
1665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You can only use bitcoin maximalist strategy to succeed in the market on: June 14, 2023, 04:59:21 PM
They see no reason to be scared even if the market is going down.  Those who really understand the market will always overcome tough bear market, but it will be challenging for people who don't have understanding.
Bitcoin marketcap got to over $1 trillion, now at half of the marketcap. You are not wrong about what you are saying but know that whales do wake up for bullish season and many of the whales will leave the market and bear season will start again.

By next year, before and after bitcoin mining reward halves, you will see the whales waking up again. If you invested in bitcoin at $50000 to $65000 in 2021, you know how much you have lost and the period of time that you have to wait before bitcoin will hit the price and increase above it again.

It is better to make a good speculation and invest at the right time. If I invest in bitcoin right now and the price fall, I will not sell because the price will reach over $25000 again and increase far more.
1666  Economy / Services / Re: Review Campaign. on: June 14, 2023, 03:53:26 PM
O.P. is only Offering $15 for the Review and if O.P. will hire an escrow from the Link that you share, he needs to  pay  $28.59 just to make sure that the Transfer will be safe and Secured.

The escrow minimum Fee of the link that you shared is 0.001 in BTC.

it would be best if O.P. will send half of the amount of the reward to His chosen candidate while doing the review.
Money is needed in marketing. Because of lack of money, many project failed. I hope OP can understand what I am talking about. He wants people to review a site for him, he needs more reviews and needs to do things in a way that people will know their efforts to increase traffic into their website.
1667  Economy / Services / Re: Review Campaign. on: June 14, 2023, 02:37:56 PM
Are you from Bestchange company and if not then you have to provide the exchanger's website for the tester to see what he is she is about describe. There is no hidden agenda in the forum so you have to open up and drop everything here for interested users to see and apply. As it is now. It is blinded application. Nobody knows what they are applying.
I do not think it is working with Bestchange, but one if the websites that is listed on Bestchange.

Hello. I am looking for two people who will test and describe what can be added or improved in the exchanger. I also expect that the tester will add a list of sites to the description (analogues of BestChange).

$15 payment in Bitcoins (Pay as soon as you've been approved).

Please post your application here in the thread and I will select two candidates.
No one know how reputed you are and it will be good to use escrow: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

You can comment, if your comment is necessary. It is just a warning that the thread is no more active. You know how the world changes, some threads needs to be left alone and to create another one to have more valid discussion. But if you know what you are doing is good and necessary, you can bring back old thread to live.

1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Trust Wallet on: June 11, 2023, 11:09:54 AM
By the way how did you get to download this trustwallet because I have never came across this taxation, although never staked any of my coin or token using trustwallet and what I am trying to view from this may likely be you are about to be scammed by some fellow.
Have you read what is in the first page? All answers are there. it is not a doubt the he was scammed, he was actually scam. You do not have to repeat what other people have posted before, yet in a assumption way.
1672  Other / Meta / Re: Where do reports go? on: June 08, 2023, 02:46:17 PM
Have been curious on where the comment made when reporting a post to a moderator goes and how is the accuracy of the comment is been calculated?
It goes to moderators.

Also, who is the current Moderator in beginners and Help board since MiningBuddy has not been active since 2018.
There are global moderators that can moderate all boards. Or theymos will have a better answer to this.
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Staking DOT off exchange! on: June 08, 2023, 09:28:34 AM
I can earn 15%+ on exchange staking it which I don't want to give up.
It is there when you want to stake DOT that

Quote
Due to the recent Polkadot network update, the minimum stake amount to receive rewards was increased to 270 DOTamd can fluctuate. Tap to learn more.

This only means that it is not Trustwallet that caused it, it is the protocol on DOT network.

Is there any way I can self custody and stake or is on exchange my only option?
I will advice you not to stake on exchanges.
1674  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few questions from beginners on: June 07, 2023, 01:29:48 PM
There is no limit to what newbies can comment, but make sure that your posts are not off-topic, make sure they are on point and not derailing thread but giving the thread to be meaningful in a way people can learn from it.
1675  Other / Off-topic / Re: What programming language should I learn on: June 06, 2023, 09:41:59 PM
Python.

If you are learning about bitcoin, you will understand more about the programming language that you should learn.

If you want to be a wallet developer, you will learn more about programming languages of the operating system that people are mostly using.

You may not be a programmer and hold bitcoin instead.

There is also another called mining.

Once you have started to learn about bitcoin, you will choose the aspect that is best for you.
1676  Economy / Service Discussion / Atomic Wallet hacker sends crypto to mixer used by Lazarus Group: Elliptic on: June 06, 2023, 06:42:12 AM
Jollygood talked about the Lazarus Group  on a thread: After Chipmixer, Is Sinbad.io Next To Be Shutdown?

The mixer is Sinbad. We all know the mixer call Sinbad.

Elliptic is a blockchain compliance analytics firm that investigate about the $35 million that was known to have been stolen from Atomic wallet user. The money or probably some of the money was first convert to bitcoin and sent to Sinbad for mixing.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/atomic-wallet-hacker-sends-crypto-mixer-elliptic

Quote
On June 5, blockchain compliance analytics firm Elliptic reported that its Investigations Team has traced funds from the $35 million Atomic Wallet hack to crypto mixer Sinbad.io.

It claims the mixing service was previously used to launder more than $100 million in crypto assets stolen by North Korea’s Lazarus Group.
1677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips on crypto investment on: June 05, 2023, 03:06:13 PM
Another gateway to keep abreast is to get connected as a member of an active crypto community or platform. Having membership of different communities is an added advantage but make sure  they are a genuine platform with a good history just like bitcointalk.
Not bad to join an online community, but be very careful and avoid scam.

As a matter of fact, it's very unsafe to depend on a single coin. In otherwords, invest into more than one token by spreading your investment into potential coins but be careful not to invest into pump and dump coins. Above all, make sure to maintain risk management in which ever crypto asset you are investing in.
It is very safe to invest in only bitcoin than going for altcoins. But be wise, bitcoin is speculative, but less volatile than altcoins which are riskier. Most altcoins have no utility and consider most of them to be gambling too.

1679  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years of a Legendary post on: June 05, 2023, 02:44:47 PM
People that understand the law of demand and supply with how bitcoin was in more than 10 years ago would have known this would happen and it happened. This has become the past, but can people that have just started to know about bitcoin still achieve this in the some years to come? I do not think so, I do not think bitcoin can make people rich as it was like before, but I believe that bitcoin can still go 50x or more in the next 10 years which is not small too.
1680  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do beginners know what closed & open source wallets are? on: June 05, 2023, 01:08:30 PM
Open source: Huge advantage over closed source is there are more people who can check the codes for any bugs or malwares. The more eyes to inspect, the faster it is to find and fix any vulnerabilities. The wallet becomes more secure to store funds. There is also no need to put trust to a few developers and this idea truly supports decentralization too.

Example of non-custodial and open source mobile wallets:
- Electrum
- MyCelium
- Bread Wallet
- Trust Wallet (IOS) **
Can you edit the OP.  Trustwallet iOS is no more open source. It is a close source wallet.
