Definitely feeling down today. Bought them last night then went to sleep. Checked the price and they had crashed. The annoying thing is at one point last night I was a couple of BTC ahead. I should have quit after I noticed the website was a copy of the the bitcoin website. I am hoping to pay down my debts so I can finally start saving to move out of home and I have lost about 55 BTC on this IXcrap.

The annoying thing is I saw all the alarm bells but a mix of irrational exuberance and tiredness had got to me. If I had of seen the thread when it was first posted I may have done well but I think I really came in late. Maybe this is bitcoin on fast forward. Milking the pump and dumps for all their worth.

To the people that got in early well done but for me maybe I should stop wasting my time here. As hard as it is to earn enough money to get by in the real world this stuff seems to just make things even more frustrating.

Not only that I feel so dirty after running this thing I feel like I should clean install my Linux box.

Sorry for your loss, but I can't help but point out the ridiculousness of 'early adopters' being the people who bought into this shit in it's first 24 hours. It's gotta be one of the most rapid pump and dumps ever, and people bought in hook, line and sinker. I started calling him out the second I saw it, but no one listens to poor ole' randy.

Are there really people paying money for this guy's fake currency?  He pulled his avatar off google and his name is made up...  Why would anyone support this?  Greed?  Looking to screw people by selling them worthless coins in the future?

No only are they paying at the new exchange there is now a pool at Bitparking with 34GH/s strength.

I mined nearly 90,000 of them yesterday with 28GH/s when the difficuly was below 1024.

I have sold nearly 40 BTC work at 1 IXC for .0008 BTC to 30+ different people via the new exchange.

Like it or not people, IXC is thriving for now.

and I find it funny that a BTC miner would call IXC fake LOL...............

There's no reason for all the hate, they can exist side by side.

That was mean of you.

Shut up Randy. You're getting spit everywhere.

Don't know the price and qty you are buying, so I'm not sure if it is worth the trouble of mining it for you. You would have better luck if you specified the price and qty of IXcoin you are buying.

Ok, I'll buy 5 BTC worth of IXC.

69 of your scamcoins for 5btc. deal.

pm sent.

difficulty was 16, it is now 64

That high already? Hmm, how many GRouPcoin are they worth each? How many DeVCoin?

Maybe the ratios might tip in favour of mining GRouPcoin or DeVCoin instead of IXCoin?

-MarkM-

Groupcoin was not replaced with devcoin then?

I will solomine all the groupcoin forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.

Step 2) Profit

Also, why are you guys actually pointing your hashing power at this drivel? Don't reward this guy's mockery of a bunch of other people's hard work.

For anyone selling IXC for BTC: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=36315.0

We are mocking it, not offering to buy it, you two-bit con man.

A conman trying to pay YOU? Hmm... that's a new one  Roll Eyes

How are you offering to pay me? And why? Oh wait, you need people to buy in and prop up your half a million worthless coins to portray the illusion they're worth something. You are offering to split the blockchain and divert resources that would be better served on the actual bitcoin project vs. some worthless clone you whipped up with other people's hard work.

New digital currencies spring up everywhere, I don't like that. Detracts bitcoins and is not a benefit for Internet and the people. Although, the creator's game is suspicious.

Someone should just pay Vladamir for one day to overtake and split their chain. Their network's gotta be pretty paltry. I wonder what the cost would be.
1678  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 10 Ixcoin for Bitcoins on: August 11, 2011, 12:29:55 AM
You are going to set precedent for the exchange rate here.

I will offer .00000002 for 1000 Ixcoin. Keep mining, fella.
1679  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Are you getting 1 BTC per day from ~1.9Gh/s? on: August 10, 2011, 11:38:54 PM
Great, thanks.  I had a feeling it was about right, but always helps to get a second opinion.  Now if someone has an idea how to increase the BTC/day rate 5-10%, then I'll really be happy  Grin

Pool hop. All you need to do is sacrifice your dignity.

what's the dignity in NOT pool hopping? are you looking to maximize your performance or not?

was it undignified to bring your 1.9 GH/s online?
was it undignified to use a GPU when others were CPUs?
was it undignified to switch to Namecoins when they were profitable?
was it undignified to switch back when they were unprofitable?
was it undignified to use phatk when it got better performance?
was it undignified to use the modified phatk when it got even better performance?
was it undignified when you chose a fee-free pool?
will it be undignified when FPGA puts all GPU miners out of business?

pool hopping is not some secret thing that only a few people can do. There are at least 2 methods (a proxy and modified client) that are freely available to everyone in this very sub-forum. There is another client that caries a cost of .1 BTC which is nothing for any GPU miner.

You don't consider it an indignity that you use a graphics card that was assembled by people making less per day than the value of your 1 BTC? Yet, using software developed by volunteers to make that graphics card more efficient is somehow an indignity. You are confused my friend.

If you want a 5-10% increase, the answer is plain and simple. If not, then be satisfied with your diminishing returns.

Mining Bitcoins for my medical mission to Vietnam.  Donations welcome  1DwJ4YsvEmzjJh5zPHw32RAEr8WpZKApMZ
looking at this quote I'd say you owe it to the people in Vietnam to maximize your returns from BitCoin. So you are also confused. You won't "steal" from a bunch of other 1st World Computer hobbyists (because if you aren't hopping you are just a hobbyist) to fund your medical mission to Vietnam? In your situation, I'd say you are selling your soul by NOT hopping.

Quite an...indignant response...

1680  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 10 BTC bounty: A special sentence on: August 10, 2011, 11:20:45 PM
honestly? taking a long enough word you like and writing it in your own 1337speak understanding will be the safest thing you get and can remember.

for example, lets say you choose control and make *[ontr0/ (the * is not part of the 1337speak but you wanna be using at least one freaky sign for security) or something like that out of it, you're done and can be sure that no dictionary will help your attacker.

No way. Even the crappiest of wordlists have got to incorporate 1337 characters. Think who is designing this shit, and think how clever the average user probably thinks it it to swap a 5 for an S in their all-so-clever password "Pa55word" when their company starts making them change their passwords once a month and use two numbers in it.
