1661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too harsh on user? on: March 12, 2023, 09:13:46 AM
Is it right to call a gambling platform a scam for confiscating users account with the deposited balance because you use more than one SIM card to access the platform? The SIM cards aren't from same network provider, so their IP addresses are different from one another.

This happened to someone I know very well, but I found this to be too cruel,  different IPs on the same device shouldn't cause this ban, what do you think?

There are some gambling platforms that pray that users make this mistake and use the opportunity to sit down on their money.

There is nothing harsh about this on users, how can you access the two accounts on the same device, that's like the same thing in my opinion. The sim cards are not the same thing, which is understandable because that will be a different mobile numbers but what about the IP address, it will read the same thing, just the last 3 digits will be changed and it will reveal the same location, now tell me how does that make a difference for two accounts as you claimed? As long as you are using the same device and the same network as the data router, the basic information that will appear on the gambling website will be the same even if you use different mobile numbers.
1662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Gambling Legalization Reduce Gambling Rings? on: March 12, 2023, 09:05:26 AM
Gambling rings are high-risk and high-reward operations that take advantage of market demand and turn it in their favor. Their modus operandi thrives on secrecy and they are involved in organizing all sorts of gambling games - slots, poker, blackjack, sports bet etc.Although the law enforcement agencies are doing their best, it is still a lot of work trying to crackdown on these rings. Gambling rings are illegal and people who are caught may either pay a huge fine or serve jail time.

I want to believe that so many people who patronize these gambling rings may have lost a lot of money or scammed and there is nothing they can do about it. And one of the reasons why people may even choose to patronize these gambling rings aside the high rewards is because gambling is banned in their society.

However I am thinking that if gambling is legalized, we would see a drastic reduction (not total elimination) in the operations of these rings. My reasons are that their activities will be carried out in a fair and transparent manner such that cases of frauds and scams will be eliminated as there will be proper mechanisms in place to prevent and protect the gamblers.

Do you think that there is a role that gambling legalization will play in reducing the activities of gambling rings?

What strive demands in gambling always result from the incompetence of the government, that been said. Now, when the citizens see anything that gives quick money, they always give it all and hence, these gambling rings take the advantage of it and explore society as a result. When government fails to provide jobs and creative mediums for talented and skilled people, trust me, they cannot swive away from gambling, this is the same pressure we have in my country, the only difference between these rings and the ones here is that they are well coordinated and people don't value casino games but they will wager any amount for sportsbooks.

Gambling rings can be reduced to the barest minimum but there is a need to protect the people so they wouldn't get carried away by those high returns and they should increase regulatory sanctions against these bad casinos who promised high returns with high risk.

many predicted that Man City would score a lot of goals when they met Crystal Palace, but in reality Man City only scored 1 goal. after poor performance several times Man City was very disappointing. this will be a whip for the Man City coach to threaten his players to play even better.

and if Man City performance is always bad, maybe the coach is in danger of being fired

Wait for a minute! Didn't they have the 3 points and are now closer to Arsenal? Crystal Palace may have been having rough weeks and season but they are not as bad as people think to predict Manchester City will do a clean sheet in their home, it was even a home game for Crystal Palace, so expect all the defensive measures they played against Manchester City and that was why they ended the match with a lucky penalty that was scored by Haaland.

Arsenal should worry more about their today outcome, they are just 2 points ahead of Manchester City, if they draw or lose today's match against Fulham, it is going to be a mess because Manchester City would do anything in their capacity to win West Ham and with that, it safe that Guardiola has already tossed another Trophy in the bag.
1664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Common red flag to detect a scam on: March 10, 2023, 08:01:10 AM
Scams are not difficult to spot unless you are greedy and always seeking for a quick method to gain money. Scammers know that there are people who are financially stressed and are willing to do everything to get quick money, and that is the bait fraudsters use that people are unaware of. If you take your eyes off being greedy and get informed on the latest, you will always pass this check. The one thing that does not impress me is the advertising channels. Places like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are sites for knowledge and learning, but they are overrun with scammers, and they are doing nothing to stop it.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some superior aspects of Bitcoin over Banks we overlook. on: March 10, 2023, 07:41:36 AM
.............................

You wouldn't understand the pain of owning a bank if you hadn't had one. I am now dealing with a failed transaction. I've been having issues with my Virtual Bank, also known as OPAY, after using their Card on a POS terminal. I filed a complaint, but I have yet to receive a response. I recently discovered that they svck at customer service; now tell me why I should continue with banking activities. If I had used Bitcoin in the first place, a failed transaction has a maximum of 14 days to stay in mempool, and if any miner could not verify my transaction, it would be returned to my address with no effect on my balance, but banks are simply evil institutions.
1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I managed to convince my senior dad to invest in BTC on: March 10, 2023, 07:28:02 AM
My dad is 79 yo. He's a retired carpenter but has always been interested in technology, electronics and related stuff. Back in the 90s, when I was just kid, he bought me a computer because he knew that's where the world was headed and we learned to use it together. During the years, I developed my passion in computing and programming and I always taught him to use all the tools needed to be a good user (he even uses things like password managers and multi-factor authentication tools).

Fast forward to early 2020, just before the pandemic, I started to buy BTC and I had always told my dad about this new "digital gold". He was skeptical (he's lived most of his life with FIAT and cash after all) but curious. He thought it was too risky though.

Not sure why, but last week he finally told me he wanted to try it. So we setup his software wallet and he bought 0.01 BTC. Not sure if he'll buy more, but I can certainly say I'm proud of him!

Did you manage to convince your dads or other older people in your family to buy BTC?

Not my dad specifically, but I was able to persuade people to buy bitcoin when it crashed last year because I believed that was the best opportunity for them to do so and reap the rewards when the price has gone up in the future. Fast forward to this year, and some of them have sold and are waiting to buy again, especially now that the US is not amicable toward the entire crypto market, but regardless, it's a good time for people to buy again.
As elderly men sometimes forget as they grow old, and given how old he is, he may one day forget that you ever assisted him in purchasing bitcoin unless you remind him. I will suggest you assist your dad to store the seed phrase or private keys to that bitcoin.
1667  Economy / Economics / Re: The Biggest Financial Regrets on: March 09, 2023, 11:18:53 AM
My regret is that I never had the chance to own bitcoin when it had little worth, but I do wonder if I will keep onto it to now, considering my financial struggles. I asked myself that question to console myself because I might still be naive even if I had the chance to accumulate more bitcoin back then. The only thing I consider to be more of a regret is that I should have had the knowledge I have now earlier because it would have protected my finances and controlled my spending habits. Nothing is bad, however, hence I try to preserve the bitcoin I do receive from weekly forum payments and buy more. It's better late than never, right?
1668  Economy / Economics / Re: How to spend money determines whether you can avoid unnecessary problems on: March 09, 2023, 10:50:09 AM

Please let me clarify first: anyone who is extremely poor or wealthy is not included in this discussion. Only those who are employed with steady income, some savings and spare time will find this topic useful. I guess most of us are doing fine now but financially we have to face one common problem: how to spend money.  This issue leads to many consequences if not handled properly. Here I would not start any broad and subjective agruement. To deliver my message clearly, I am using some specific examples to elaborate. For example, a lot of peole complain that their income is not enough to cover their daily expenses so they can't save much money while...they spend seven bucks on a cup of coffee almost every morning, throw a hundred dollars on some gym membership cards but never show up training, have dinner with some random girl in an expensive restaurant, buy drinks in bars and waste hundreds of dollars... The list goes on and on. If you live this kind of lifestyle and at the end of months, you are running out of money or can't pay the mortgages, whose fault is this ? I can not provide any statisitics but I am sure that many people have fallen in the trap and can not get out.  I hope you are not one of them.

This is simple and I will make it easy for you to comprehend. Just because you like to stay indoors doesn't mean I'm equally introverted, I could be an extrovert that wouldn't want to stay home. Again, because I love taking bear and hanging out doesn't mean you have to be like me. It is all choices even if we earn the same amount of money, all life without fun is doesn't make sense, but we have to do it moderately but saying because my source of income is never enough should limit my way of life totally is out of debates, I will save and spend flamboyantly but it doesn't mean I must suffer it.
1669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 09, 2023, 10:27:33 AM
Chelsea moving upward in the English Premiership league table is possible considering their recent performance the blues has not been in good form in their previous matches before their recent two matches that ended in their favour, the blues has to be more aggressive in their attack in other to achieve their goals in the club so that the good records of the team will not diminish.
Chelsea’s bad situation is now slowly starting to clear up with Potter able to field brilliant wing-back pair James and Chilwell in the same side for just the eighth time this season. Injuries are part of the game but Chelsea's pile up has been extreme. At its worst, the number of players out at the same time ran into double figures. As the injuries begin to pile down, Chelsea has began to field their first team players and now they’re playing good football and it’s been obvious in their last games.

I lost my Chelsea ticket when they beat Dortmund, but I'm not impressed since they would have still lost on a regular ground level, but two confirm penalties assisted them, which is why I'm not confident back as they are known to be. If a team wins 9 games and loses 9, they have a lot of work to do to make up for their ineptitude. Let's hope they beat Leicester City and move out of 10th position, where they've been for several weeks. I'm also curious to see what Enzo and Felix can bring to the team, but I haven't seen anything deserving of the excitement of being replaced by Auba and the rest of the squad.
1670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wrong Bets !!! on: March 09, 2023, 10:02:11 AM
Today morning received the weeks payment. I had the payment of the previous week. Altogether it was around 0.0055 in the wallet. The first bet was planned to be 0.0005BTC. Instead of placing 0.0005BTC, I misplaced 0.005BTC and the bet was lost. This was completely unexpected and it is my fault. If the bet have won my wallet balance could've turned 0.007BTC, now it is an empty wallet.

Have any of you encountered such wrong bets and won/lost Huh

This is sad to see you lose an entire balance but I think this mistake arises for gamblers many times without numbers, I have been a victim where I stake my entire balance for a single ticket of a single match when I wasn't sure about what I played, the game never came and I Learnt my lessons and left the Casino since they don't have options to use the modal slide. It is very easy to wager or stake a game when they have something like 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% or something like when they display the percentage in value so that a player can easily spot what they are trying to bet. Like your balance, for example, 25% of your total balance will be 0.001375, and so on for other percentages but I guess you cannot change casino since you are using stake for weekly payments.

No doubt Galtier missed Neymar in the game last night. but i expect messi and  mbappe to turn things well in the attack line. but they could not deliver psg to the quarter finals. is a big shame for Galtier, he cant use this squad to win Champions league then there is squad he can use to win it again.

Is a complete squad now a measure for a team to win a match? There are other matches Messi, Neymar, and Mbape has played with other team and yet they lost and there are some they won without the 3 of them together, it is not a yardstick for the team to win a match. Bayern Munich isn't a piece of cake they could just bite and go home without putting up a fight, it is not done that way, in fact, check the record, only a few times PSG was able to win matches against Bayern Munich.

Quote
i think in the next transfer widom, Mbappe may leave for madrid or manchester united. the reason he stay at Psg has been defeated already. he is arm was to win Champions league with Messi effect. but since he could not achieve this season , he has to think twice.

I don't think Madrid would take him back, not what he did to Real Madrid's president during the January transfer window. Since they weren't able to further journey to the Champions League, it is safe to say that Messi would be given this year's Ballon d'Or over Mbape people think FIFA might consider if they win the Champions League.

Stop the presses! Manchester United has suffered a loss! But you know what they say, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." And let me tell you, Manchester United has plenty of courage. They are a team of champions, and one loss isn't going to change that. As professionals, they know that wins and losses are part of the game. And you know what else? They're going to use this defeat as a lesson to improve for their future games. Manchester United has an amazing squad, and they will surely be motivated to make their fans proud again. I, for one, am excited to see what the future holds for the Red Devils!

You can't tell people to stop the press when Erik was doing the same and I'm glad it hit them badly the day he disparaged Ronaldo, the dude already move on and his making goals and a name in Saudi Arabi, Manchester United has also been doing well until this last shameful lost they had and to me, it is a settle cause after what he said in the media for letting go of Ronaldo.
loss is a normal thing, nothing spoiled, their position in Premier League still remains unchanged and no team has overtaken them, same thing in Europa, he should encourage his boys and get back on what they have been doing the last few weeks, especially the Rashford Trademark we have been enjoying after goal.

We didn't see many goals in yesterday's games, but there were important matches and results that will affect the course of the league. Barcelona beat Valencia 1-0 at home.  Barcelona managed to break Valencia's resistance by scoring an early goal, but couldn't reflect this in the second half. A missed penalty early in the second half and a red card afterwards left Valencia in control of the game. But Valencia couldn't find a goal and the match ended 1-0.
The other important match of the day was real Madrid, who drew away to betis. With this loss, the point difference with Barcelona increased to 9 points. It would have been better for them if they had won this match. Betis are a team in form and they play well. It was also difficult to beat them at home and real madrid couldn't do it.

Barcelona did well from this match, because Valencia players really prepared well to disgrace Barcelona by reducing their points but Barcelona coach never allow such thing to happen than to make use of the players that know how to work hard to achieve early goals to start the match. They succeeded to scored one goal in the first half that made them to do everything possible within their power to maintain the one goal till the end of the match, that made people to rate them well. Real Madrid didn't display well in the first half, because Betis players really understood the tactics Real Madrid players were using at the moment that made the match to ended up draw.

I have just searched some records of Valencia and I couldn't see any recent records where they were able to beat Barcelona, it is either their draw or loss to Barcelona which they still repeat the same thing in their last encounter. It is going to be the first time after 13 years of Valencia going to the relegation zone, this is something I don't want to see them end up like this, 9 points from 3 matches before the end of the season will shift them out of that zone and qualufy for next season but I doubt if that will be possible because they have only win 2 matches out of the 24 played, they seriously have not been in good form.
1674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 07, 2023, 09:39:15 AM
Football is all about making the impossible possible, real Madrid supposedly are the greatest team in the champions league and have proven their dominance in the league, but this second leg return between the champions and Liverpool is going to be thrilling match to watch especially when Liverpool just had a record breaking inspirational win over inform Manchester united. Liverpool will be going into this at least with their confidence already boosted over their massive victory although Madrid has the upper hand after winning the first leg and are currently playing from home but I feel an impossible feat can still be done by the Liverpool boys.

Forget about their league dominance; Real Madrid just knows when to turn things around in the Champions League when people are about to give up on them. Just look at last season and how they trashed important English teams as if they weren't that important in the first place, and how they always make a comeback in their matches during the second leg.

If Real Madrid were in their position, I might have given them some support in making it out after the second leg, but looking at the situation in Liverpool, they may have just played one of the greatest matches with Manchester United having finished them is a great achievement, but I don't think they will succeed in the second leg.
1675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 07, 2023, 09:12:00 AM
If you are a professional gambler, then gambling could earn you a living. But if you are only a gambler like the majority of us, I don't think it could be enough to support yourself and your family. There are many professional gamblers out there who are focused mainly on their game. But they have sponsors and allowances. For an ordinary person without any other source of income but the prize that one could earn from gambling, it is impossible to solely rely on it. No gambler is winning all the time.

There is nothing as being a professional when it comes to gambling, it is pure luck and skill that can help you, and what you earn depends on the odds(risk) and the amount you stake/wager for the players who used Bookmakers and multipliers and amount who do casino games. You can increase your wager with little odds(low risk) and gamble or put a small amount with high odds(high risk) but as I said, this depends on your luck and skills. I have seen people trenches who are not professional, just luck and skill make them becomes a millionaire overnight and also people who stake a high amount to win something huge with small odds.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 07, 2023, 08:58:19 AM
Yeah Nobody thought Liverpool could 7 scored without conceding, it was a goals party for them. This very bad defeat will be the most valuable lesson for Ten Hag, because in the EPL there are many big clubs which can't be underestimated, even clubs that are in the relegation zone can make a surprise here. Meanwhile, for Liverpool which has been big win, they possibility will certainly be on fire to at least win a ticket in top 4 because the gap is also not too far anyway.

What the hell. Maybe LFC can even thrash Real Madrid in the second leg and progress to the next round. It would be hard but they'd only need half the number of goals they scored against Utd. Anything's possible at this point.

That dream is not real, I don't think Liverpool can do a similar thing to Real Madrid, what LFC played wasn't as serious as the Champions League, which is the competition for mature teams. Saying Liverpool will annihilate Real Madrid begs the question of whether they will concede goals in the same way Manchester United did, the first half was enough for Manchester United to learn mistakes from the first goal they conceded, but they became weak, and Liverpool, seeing how defenseless they are, will use that as an advantage to wipe their ass even further. To be honest, Real Madrid would not tolerate such disgrace.

The poor results Chelsea have achieved in recent weeks have made Potter even more scrutinized, his quality is increasingly doubtful that he can make Chelsea triumph again in the Premier League and also in Europe. Even though they have been equipped with several quality players, Chelsea are so easy to lose under Potter's leadership, they are also in danger of dropping out in the Champions League after defeat in the first leg.
Champions League is only hope left for Chelsea. They lost in a first leg but in a second leg, they will host Dortmund at Stamford Bridge and with a minimal loss in a first leg, their hope is there. Winning 2 goals will help Chelsea to go to quarter final round and continue to chase for a third Champions League in their history.

This isn't 2021 anymore. Now you can get a CL position if you have a high-enough club coefficient.

Will this rule out the current Champions League? I thought that is expected to happen by 2024 come next season.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 05, 2023, 04:18:02 PM
The match between these two teams Barcelona vs Valencia has started in the Spanish League. The game is very intense. Barcelona players have started a great game. Now Barcelona is leading by 1 goal. Valencia players are trying to play better now. I don't think Valencia  Can win this match. But it will be a very nice game between two teams. This match I support Barcelona team today. I think my favorite team will win today. I will try to enjoy the game completely.

They have yet to return from halftime, but Barcelona has been dominant in the match, playing an offensive game the entire first half, but Valencia was playing both offensive and defensive matches, but the defense was more because Barcelona is not a match for them, and they will likely end the second half with two goals to nil, extending Barcelona with more points and leaving Real Madrid with 10. I believe it is reasonable to conclude that if Real Madrid fails to win their next match against Real Betis, Barcelona will certainly take the league title.

The Everton vs Nottingham match has entered the 34th minute. And the current score is 1-2 with the advantage of Everton. And actually I have high hopes for Everton for this game. But it turned out that Nottingham was enough to provide an aggressive game in this match. And Everton cannot be careless in this match. I believe Sean Dyche can bring Everton back to their much better form. and can win this fight.

Everton and Nottingham Forest match are one of the most aggressive matches I have watched this week, it seems so personal that almost all the players have received a yellow card and right now, they both have 2 goals and they still trying to lead one another but so far, despite making equalize goal at the second half, Nottingham Forest are leading by ball possession and their attack seems to be very solid, if they keep up before the 5 minutes, they may have an additional goal and I hope the players who had a yellow card doesn't repeat their mistake otherwise one team will be playing against 10.
1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 05, 2023, 09:49:16 AM
Manchester City were really surprising against Leipzig in the first leg. Their performance in the second half especially was really unsatisfying and that was why they got a draw there. But in Etihad I don't think Leipzig will be able to stand much chance against them. I don't expect to watch the same Manchester City this time. Guardiola would warn his players about their mistakes in the previous match and we would see them showing a solid performance this time.

Leipzig aren't a big obstacle for them. The real challenge would be against Real Madrid for example. We all must be remembering that legendary draw last season.

Leipzig would not be a problem, but it depends on how Manchester City performs in the second leg. Leipzig has an excellent domestic league record, which is why they were able to protect even after Manchester City scored the opening goal in the first half. We don't know the outcome, but we can anticipate what will happen next based on which teams participated.
Real Madrid does not appear to have any barriers for the time being, unlike the previous season when they had to face strong opponents and scale through, Liverpool would not make it out, and even if Chelsea and Dortmund make it out, none of them can compete with Madrid.
1680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 05, 2023, 09:01:56 AM
Now we will see what Barcelona and Real Madrid do tomorrow for the title race. There is not much of a race for now actually as Barcelona are in a comfortable situation. But they don't have the luxury of making mistakes to prevent Real Madrid from gaining with them in the standings. This is the biggest chance for Barcelona in the recent years to make it to the league title.

It will be a remarkable history for Barcelona if Xavi wins Laliga; Messi's absence hasn't benefited them because he was the last guy who helped the team win the last one in 2019, and it has always ended in second or third place after then. Nevertheless, Real Madrid has not given up, which adds to the excitement and intrigue, but to be honest, this season will favor Barcelona and will break Real Madrid's grip on the Laliga trophy in Spain; it should not be Real Madrid that wins the title every season.

Quote
By the way I wonder what Sevilla will do in the remaining time period of the season. They need improvement in their results again otherwise they will still be making an effort to stay in the La Liga even on the final weeks.

It appears that the Laliga I know is reverting to the farm League that EPL fans described, it was a shameful match to watch yesterday, Sevilla's defensive measure was poor, which they should have addressed in the second half, but they continued to play the same way and ended up sharing 1 goal per 2 players from Atletico Madrid.
