1661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins the step to wealth. on: November 25, 2022, 05:12:04 PM
Bitcoin isn’t necessarily the steps to wealth. You shouldn’t be under the illusion that one could get wealthy overnight just cause of bitcoin. Like literally with all things, you could only reap the gains or profit if you put in time and effort. Bitcoin is same. You would need perseverance to be able to hold for the long run and that’s what you should be aiming at.

And you also shouldn’t be looking to bitcoin to get rich. Bitcoin, like all investments are risky and the need to diversify is yet again reiterated.

You are welcomed to the forum and your questions are always welcomed. You should grow a tough skin as not everyone you come across with on here would be civil. You shouldn’t let that stop you from asking whatever you want to and being yourself.
The knowledge the forum gives is open to you. Explore!

1663  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you agree that an employer should hire employees who are smarter than him? on: November 24, 2022, 06:55:08 PM
Yes, I totally agree that an employer should hire employees that are smarter than him. In my opinion, that’s a great strategy. They would bring their brains and skills to the workplace which in turn would bring about effective and optimal results in the long run.

Obviously, an employer of labor has to employ someone as he couldn’t possibly do all the work himself. That’s why he has to employ someone. Now, every employer would want to hire the most suitable candidate for the job and that is usually the brightest among the bunch.

Not everyone can start up a business, weather the storm over the years as there would be a lot of bad storms and later be some fancy top notch CEO. You just have to hire the best so your business would thrive.
1664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi guys, I'm new here on: November 24, 2022, 05:15:28 PM
I heartily welcome you to the forum. You mentioned you have a lot of questions and you’re hoping for an answer. If that’s true, you’ve come to the right place and you can be rest assured that all your questions would be answered. So, feel free to ask anything you don’t understand.

I would advise anyone coming into cryptocurrencies to first stay away from other alt coins. Focus more on understanding bitcoin and what it entails. With other alt coins, you’re more likely to fall prey to some dubious scam projects that is destined to fail from the onset.

Be open to opinions and be original. That way, we would all learn from each other. Don’t hesitate to ask whatever questions you might have. Someone would definitely give you an answer. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules! Don’t fret, You’re going to be alright.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some government scared of Bitcoin? on: November 23, 2022, 12:01:02 PM
It’s all about control. Any government would love to have absolute control over its citizens. A controlled citizenry is every government dream. While the government, having little or no control over its citizens use and adoption of bitcoin gets them scared.

They want something they could control and regulate. Bitcoin isn’t having any of that and that fact makes them jittery. So they go all out to spread propaganda and false claims to get people to fear and avoid bitcoin. But as bitcoin adoption gradually increases, these propaganda and untruths are steadily being debunked.

1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching my nephew about Bitcoin on: November 19, 2022, 01:00:27 PM
I think that there is an increase in threads about teaching students, pastors and now a nephew about bitcoin. I’m not against trying to enlighten folks about bitcoin.
I do not want to doubt the OP intentions of teaching his nephew about bitcoin, yet I’m inclined to think accolades is what’s desired here.
1670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I hardly have up to $100 again in all my fait bank accounts since I joined BTT on: November 19, 2022, 10:41:58 AM
BTT has opened my eyes, the fiat rulership had milked me for too long. I was blind before, but now I can clearly see. Thanks to Satoshi Nakamoto!

Like play, I realized I hardly have $100 (conversion) as my total fiat balance in all my bank accounts, over 99.99% of my money is now in Bitcoin. I was slightly using Bitcoin before joining BTT, but this forum has made me a proudly addicted user of Bitcoin (payment, trading and investments). This is a good addition because I am making more money with them unlike the fiat in banks that will just be useless for me and useful for the bank.

It is so annoying when I look back at the wire transfer transactions I had performed in the past, to the point of charging me as high as $71 for a single transfer if correspondent banks are involved.

A big shame on the centralized fiat because of this extortion!

I think an addiction, no matter what it is, is not good. And I wouldn’t advise you to indulge in any form of addiction(bitcoin included).
You mentioned you’ve got 99.99% of your funds in bitcoin. Although that may be applauded by some, I would say it isn’t a good nor smart move. I personally think it’s strange

You do not put all your eggs into a basket; no matter how sturdy it is. That’s why you should share your eggs into various baskets. Diversification is important. I also think you should hold more than .001 of your funds in fiat as it’s undeniably more widely accepted and used.
1671  Other / Off-topic / Your screen time on: November 16, 2022, 05:33:31 PM
Wikipedia defines screen time as the amount of time spent using a device with a screen such as a smartphone, computer, television or a video game console.

After years of willfully keeping away from the steering wheel, I finally decided to go in and get a license to drive a vehicle.
Time for a vision test and I’m like, this would be real easy. I was so wrong. I had always thought I’ve got perfect eye sight as I could see quite clearly from a distance.

I couldn’t pick out the small figures and alphabets that was displayed as they became blurry as I tried to focus on it. After lots of awkward smiles and pleading with my eyes, I passed the vision test with the minimum score.
I recently went in to get my eyes checked and it’s likely I would need a prescription glasses.

I read quite a lot and have slowly been deviating from paperback to reading on the kindle over the years. Been advised to cut back on my screen time but I had thought as I’m not old, my eyesight would remain hawk eyed. I was wrong.

I would like to advise y’all to cut back on your screen time if you can. Put down your devices and take a walk or something.

Our eyes grow weak with age but they also get weaker at a much faster pace when continuously strained.
There are loads of eye defects that you may just be able to prevent With a healthy diet. These eye defects creep in slowly and would go unnoticed until it blossoms and becomes difficult to cure or manage.

We could try and include fishes like salmon, sardines; nuts and legumes  like walnuts, cashews( fruits like oranges and grapefruits; eggs and a whole lot of water in our diet.
I’ve learnt water does a lot of things in the body apart from regulation of our body temperature.

We all need to take better care of our eyes as well as cutting back on some screen time.
1672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 16, 2022, 06:18:25 AM
We are excited to see the Messi vs Ronaldo final. But the chances of this happening are very low. While Argentina's squad is the favorite to be a finalist, Portugal's squad is not very strong. They have several weaknesses. Also Ronaldo is not in good form now. If Ronaldo does not return to form, it will be difficult for Portugal to qualify for the second round.
Even when Ronaldo was at the top of his game that was still not enough to bring Portugal to the final of the world cup, and now that he is not near that level I think fans should stop thinking about such a final between Messi and Portugal as it is simply not going to happen, I would not deny that it would have been an amazing game as Ronaldo and Messi have been rivals for many years now, but Ronaldo simply does not have the teammates necessary to get so far on the world cup.
Well Ronaldo was still able to win the European championship with Portugal in 2016.
It's not the World Cup, of course, but still the strongest teams played there. Of course, even a player like Ronaldo could not make Portugal the world champion, yet Messi was closer in his time, there were chances to beat Germany in final game, but in the end it is the strongest and most disciplined teams that win, not individual stars.

Right you are my good man. Teams win and not Individual stars.
It isn’t just a player who plays but a squad of players who are equally important. Each player has a role to play in the squad and is as equally valuable and important as the striker who scored goals.

I think Argentina has a strong chance of winning this World Cup as it has a lot of experienced though somewhat old players. I think in this scenario, experience trumps old. I know we’re going to see an exciting World Cup this time around.
1673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 16, 2022, 05:35:21 AM
Argentina has a great team, and they have Messi, whom if he actually delivers this time, they will have a chance of winning the world cup.
It will be a difficult one, but again, it's all on Messi's shoulders now. The team can only make it a possibility, Messi will make it a reality if he's up for it.

Argentina is a well balanced team. During the last two years or so, they have performed exceptionally. And the reason for that is other players are giving good support to Messi. Argentina is no longer dependent on any of the individual players. Apart from Lionel Messi, they have legends such as Paulo Dybala, Ángel Di María, Lautaro Martínez, Nicolás Otamendi and Leandro Paredes. Argentina is a well balanced team, and they are not lagging behind in any of the components. My only concern would be injury, given the fact that many of the players are nearing retirement.

Argentina has a superb squad. And with their recent performance, has made them a sure candidate to win the World Cup. Argentina has a lot of good players on the squad and don’t entirely rely on Messi.

Admittedly, there are older players on the squad. But they are more experienced, having played professional football their entire career. I think Argentina, however great their team is,, would face a lot of tough teams in this World Cup. It’s going to be exciting to watch every game.
1674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 16, 2022, 05:24:53 AM
No reason for him to say. He will be only getting lots of people disrespect with him. He has been slaming united like it was nothing anymore for him. ten haag may become the main reason why he was doing it. I think that ronaldo was a good guy but since he has no respect from others and then it was very bad for him. His statement has become very bad thing for him just like a boomerang that was hitting back to him again even FIFA has been accepting a request from united to terminate his contract.
Ronaldo's chance to leave from united has become even bigger since fifa accepting request from Mu caused by his attitude to the team
Ronaldo don't mean all he said, I think he's doing it out of frustration and dissapointment from the club and team management. Erik ten hag is probably one of the cause of Ronaldo staying on the bench, imagine a world first class player been turn to a bench warmer in united and it's totally unfair because Erik once told the news how Ronaldo will suits in his game plan for United and even promise him enough game playing time, but look at what's going on with the team today, they refused him games and deceived him, in the last window transfer, he wanted to leave but was denied and promise by Erik to be use more efficiently in games. We shouldn't blame Ronaldo but we should also try to look from his own end, he has been mute long enough.

I think Ronaldo meant all what he said. He obviously doing all this out of frustration as we can all see how he reacts when he gets frustrated. Ronaldo is a great player, everyone knows that and there is no doubt about that.

Would you fault the coach cause he didn’t give Ronaldo playing time on the field? I wouldn’t. The manager has the right to put any player he wants in the game and bench anyone as well. Ronaldo is a great player but a player nevertheless and is subject to whatever decisions the manager makes.

1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don’t make any crazy/suicidal moves in this bear market on: November 14, 2022, 02:47:39 PM
This is good message because peeps has been doing such extreme moves in the crypto markets. This is nice reminder because bitcoin is dipping at its deepest point during the current financial year. This is impacting the market a lot and peeps also go take extreme steps in the flow of it. The negativity that is getting spread all over the market is really concerning. This is also leading to mega dumps throughout the market.

Only message from the desk would be, investing more money (affordable investment) and buy as much as we could.

This could also contribute to little stabilisation of current market if EVERYONE follow this.

People do extreme and crazy things when seemingly backed into a corner. The recent events has spooked a lot of people and things are not looking bright at the moment. All these are experienced when venturing into investments.

Most people fear and do not trust what they don’t know and with all the recent drama, the negativity is spreading even more and people would be influenced by it.

With investments, it’s always best to play it safe and not go all in so there would not be any regrets that would induce crazy thoughts and actions.
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Don’t make any crazy/suicidal moves in this bear market on: November 13, 2022, 03:23:02 PM
It has been reiterated countless times on the need to keep and store your coins off exchanges as it has been proven a couple of times about how unsafe exchanges are, and with the latest drama involving FTX, the point is proven once again.

These are some of the crypto exchanges that has either been hacked, had some sort of a security breach or has downright folded up and when it occurred.
1. Altsbit - Feb 2020
2. Uniswap- April 2020
3. Balancer- June 2020
4. Cashaa- July 2020
5. Hotbit- April 2021
6. Ascend EX- December 2021 and just recently,
7. FTX- November 2022

These breaches are just some as recent as two years.
Exchanges such as those listed above would promise top notch security and encourage people to do business with them and when breached, it’s same people who would be at the receiving end.

These hacks and breaches in these exchanges does not fare well for the crypto market as it could get existing and potential new investors jittery.

So, like the heading says, do not make crazy suicidal moves in this bear market.
The recent FTX drama involving hundreds of millions of dollars stolen has resumed the barraging attacks on bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general by critics and naysayers.

Bitcoin has withstood these attacks and proven all ye naysayers out there wrong and would continue to do so.
So I’m pretty much putting it out there to chill and not make any rash decisions that would be regretted later on. And also to reiterate the fact that exchanges are a no no for keeping your coins.

Great topic, thank you for sharing it with me. Gonna pin it, haha.

I also recommend you use the Pomodoro technique - short bursts of focus on certain tasks to get things done faster and more efficiently across the day. You will feel way fresh too.

Thanks! It’s nice to know someone found it helpful. I have heard about the Pomodoro technique but haven’t really applied it. Nice technique though.

I’m quite fond of the Eisenhower decision matrix as it helped me stay prioritized and focused more on important things I needed done.
