2017  we crested over 1 trillion.
So  do I think we go to 1 trillion maybe by next spring.

I distinctly remember not hitting 1 trill. I recall a high at a touch over 800bn.

I think I saw it on  one site.

Remember that would be every coin and they may have had a longer listing of shit coins.

Edit:

I checked so far I found 813 billion as peak.

Even if you are correct. And we,peaked at 800 billion I think we may not get there as I think Btc peaks next spring over 20k but under 30k

Which if we get to 28k means btc total value would be close to 450 billion.

Still pretty good numbers.

This year may be like 2016 was good but not great.
And next year may be short of 2017.

It you value btc back to 2017 at 20 k and we are at 9.3k

Gear is 2x better so coins drop to 4.65k. But diff is edit 9 to 5 fold so 41k btc right now is the same as 20k btc was.

Add in the 1/2 next year and we need to be close to 82k in btc to match dec 2017.

I do not think it happens. Let me check on my 9 fold number as my memory can suck

This is better

We were are 1.4 trill in dec 2017 we are at 7.4 trill now. So devide the 7.4 by a factor of 2 you get 3.7

So a guy with an s17 finds getting a coin 3.7/1.4 = 2.6 times harder then a guy with an s9 did in dec of 2017. Per th of of hash.

So to be equal to the all time high of 20k we need to be at 52 k

In terms of a miner.  We are at 9.3 k.  Which is why I think we will not reach the heights of profit we were doing in 2017.  But I do think we get to 20-30 k before April 2020.
16664  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ckpool.org ZERO FEE SPLNS no registration mining pool US/DE/CN on: June 18, 2019, 12:45:20 AM
Over 7PH; looking much better!
No, Its Over 9000! (Th/s).

The faster this pool grows back up, the better for everyone.

Yeah if the pool earns 1 block per week the variance risk becomes more bearable.

If the pool earns 1 block a month the  variance risk makes it hard to point a lot of hash.

25ph is about 2blocks a month

9ph is about a block every 5 weeks.

So when we to 200% we are at 10 weeks which is 2 power bills.

My power bill is 2500 monthly so back to back 200% blocks can mean 1 block in 20 weeks.

As in block then   10 week wait block then 10 week wait.  If we can approach 25ph we will hit a lot more.

16667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: June 17, 2019, 07:55:23 PM
Only the top coins are doing well, I'm holding a lot of low cap coins from mining that are completely dead or nearly worthless.

Surprised at grin but I still expect it to go back under 30k satoshis again.

I have been cashing grin into ltc .  I finally am at the point that I should have held all the grin rather then buy the LTC.  But I am more confident in LTC than grin.

So I will continue to convert my grin into LTC and then hold.
16668  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining: Adding Solar Home Now, as "Mining Hedge" for future 2020 miners? on: June 17, 2019, 07:47:34 PM
Only reason to not invest in renewables is lacking the money for the initial investment.

Yeah if you can afford to set up at least 10kwatts on your roof you should do it.

10kwatts  is about 10000/7 = 1425 watts 24/7/365  when averaged out.

So it means  you kind of run an s-9  24/7/365 for free.
16669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: June 17, 2019, 05:40:08 PM
grin is pushing 5.95 usd.

nice
...and above $6 now. I wanted to say "finally" too, lol Grin

Good run in crypto in general lately. BTC has broken 9K ("it's over 9000!!"), which hopefully means we're up for more upside.

Phil, you've called a few good selling points in the past... what is your opinion on this run?

It will be good.

Not as good as 2017, but good.

right now  all coins are about 250 billion

2017  we crested over 1 trillion.

So  do I think we go to 1 trillion maybe by next spring.

we have 2 major ½ ing LTC in 2 months  then BTC in 10 mobntjs

So..........one of my T17s just died today....about 2 weeks into operation. Apparently having an integrated PSU is NOT A GOOD IDEA!

The miner is fine, but the PSU blown a fuse or something. total of 10 miners, 1 already blew a PSU 2 weeks into operation.

Hope the S17s fare a bit better.

What is your typical power in volts?

210
220

16675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to power my 500w mining rig with my EV? on: June 17, 2019, 12:53:22 AM
So I'm sure this isn't the most original thought ever but I'm going to ask anyway.

I drive to work everyday with my Chevy spark EV which has a 19kw battery and my work charges my car for free everyday. I only commute within 10 miles so I always have about 85% charge left when I get home.

Is there anyway to power my mining rig with my car during the evening and simply go to work the next day and recharge my car so I can repeat the process and save some energy at my home.

Thanks.

Unless you have permission to do this  from your boss it amounts to a theft.

So in effect:

You are asking is it possible to rob my company?

Yeah you can rob your company.

But it is a crime to do so.

So I won't explain how to do it.

16678  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience Terminus R606 750GH (up to 1TH) quiet miner, now shipping on: June 16, 2019, 04:29:59 PM
This is far more efficient then a 2pac

As to why you want it or how you use it. I guess it is up to you.

I have this and 3 newpacs.    I point all of that at this pool

http://solo.ckpool.org/users/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

I do not care if it ever wins a block.  It is simply done to support ck and sidehack.

I have a much larger farm that allows me to do that. Plus make a few bucks for me and my partners.
16679  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 1% fee solo mining USA/DE 252 blocks solved! on: June 16, 2019, 01:32:17 PM
"bestever": 324549776

If it exceeds the current Difficulty (7,409,399,249,090) it means you solved a block.

does this mean that he still needs to go through 7.409.000.000.000 'sub-blocks' ?

I though we are were working on the same block but only one gets the final prize for finding the 'right piece'

Are other pools working on this same block or does it get assigned to the first that accepts the job?
every sha 256 miner pointed to btc in the world is pointed to the same block

About 46,000,000,000 gh

I have about 1000 gh pointed here

So my chance on the next block is about 46,000,000 to 1

46,000,000/144 = 319,444 to one on an average day

Bumped in to this old thread. This was probably the starting point for Jed's projects Ripple and now Stellar.
Yes. This is a valuable piece of history now!

If Democracy is subject to a 51% attack  how did Donald Trump win with 62.7m  vs 65.3m for Clinton?
The answer is:       hint I know the answer

All POS coins are simply unlicensed banks issuing coins backed by nothing.
At least POW coins are back by hard 'iron'  machines that serve a useful purpose  they convert electrical power to coins.
The world wide grid needs the ability  to shunt excess power. Rainy season  next to a hydropower plant is one example.
ie you do not shut the river off  so what do you do with  1000MegaWatts of excess power.  The answer is sell it cheap to a bigass mining farm so the power is not wasted.

Due to Pow coins ability to stablize the power grid world wide they will continue to exist for years to come.
