16701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2X cancellation - BCH pump - BTC drop - soon BCH = Bitcoin name replacement? on: November 12, 2017, 10:34:46 PM
The attack was done by those involved with S2X, so they can pump and dump BCH and buy back in to BTC at a lower price. Just hodl and wait for this nonsense to settle down.
16702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time to sell some BTC for ETH ?? on: November 12, 2017, 10:28:55 PM
Eth is certainly more stable at the moment, but you run the risk of selling Btc low and having to buy back in at a higher price.
16703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash rose several times in a few days on: November 12, 2017, 11:50:09 AM
It's being pumped by the S2X crew, so they can dump their coins then buy back in to BTC cheaper and make a big profit. Just hodl and be patient.
16704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to calculate BTC profit on: November 12, 2017, 11:40:50 AM
You could always use an app like Blockfolio to keep track of all your coins and their values.
16705  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Buying on Kraken and selling on GDAX? on: November 11, 2017, 03:37:07 PM
This is called "arbitrage". Yes, it is possible, but you have to factor in transfer times.
16706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if...? on: November 06, 2017, 08:57:08 PM
If every Chinese person owns 1 BTC wouldn't that make China or Chinese people the new world leaders?

There are 1.4 billion people in China. At most there are 21 million bitcoins. Even if China somehow managed to buy every bitcoin in the world, including recovering all the lost bitcoins, that's only 0.015 coins per citizen. It's impossible for "every Chinese person owns 1 BTC".

Jaxx or Coinomi for mobile are probably the two most commonly used.
16709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DEEP ONION SCAM!!!! on: November 05, 2017, 03:59:57 PM
What a shame, it looked like it had real potential. Will be staying well away from it. Thanks for the info.

So what is the problem? Try another airdrops or find a work to get money for future investments. There are too many projects,so will be great count of scams.

I'm not disappointed because I'm missing out - I'm disappointed because it seemed to have nice features and to be a good project.

16712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you diversify? on: October 28, 2017, 11:50:12 AM
Definitely diversity as protection against any one aspect collapsing.

I hold bitcoins, altcoins, bonds, property, fiat savings.

It doesn't take much time or effort to start ranking up. And anyway, ranking up should be a byproduct of your interest in the board and the community, not as your primary aim.
16715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Requirements for Airdrops(For Newbies) on: October 28, 2017, 10:36:54 AM
how do you upgrade your position from newbie to the next level?

Have a read of this stickied thread, it explains it all:

What is the project about?

sent you a message

You want someone to give you over $100,000, but you won't even say in public what your project is about? Sounds like a scam to me.
16717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase vs Kraken vs Cex vs... on: October 27, 2017, 04:42:09 PM
You don't need that many accounts unless you want to trade a bunch of different altcoins.  You can get by with only 2 accounts.  One on Coinbase or Gemini to sell bitcoins/ethereums for fiat and one major altcoin exchange like Bittrex, Binance or Poloniex.

This is exactly the set up I have. Why over complicate things? One exchange that deals with fiat to BTC/ETH, and one exchange that deals with BTC/ETH to alts.
16718  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why Coinbase Charged me 50% fees? on: October 27, 2017, 04:27:57 PM
Last time I checked, Coinbase fees are as follows:

$10 or less = $0.99 fee
$10.01 to $25 = $1.49 fee
$25.01 to $50 = $1.99 fee
$50.01 to $200 = $2.99 fee
>$200.01 = Flat 1.49% fee

The purchase confirmation screen clearly displays the fee you will be charged. If you weren't happy with the fee, you shouldn't have clicked "accept".

In future, just move all your money from Coinbase to GDAX (free and instant), and place limit orders on GDAX for zero fees.
16719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep track of your investments including entry, exit and ROI? on: October 27, 2017, 08:42:06 AM
I use Blockfolio app, and just subtract any fees before entering my purchases and sales.
16720  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best bitcoin android wallet? on: October 26, 2017, 07:45:54 PM
Copay is no longer recommended as their parent company, Bitpay, have been trying to switch their users to 2X without their knowledge or consent. Regardless of your feelings about 2X, users should have complete control over their coins and not be forced to chance if they don't want.

Check out this link for some recommended wallets:

https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/android/

Personally, I have used Electrum and Mycelium, and would recommend either.

You "back up" a wallet by writing down the 24 word recovery phase that will be given to you when you first set up the wallet. Those 24 words allows anybody with them to recovery your wallet - so keep them safe and secure!
