16761  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CRYPTSY stopping withdraw locking accounts without notifying users! Class Action on: July 06, 2017, 10:32:09 PM
Bravo! You continue to have no problem sourcing info when it quasi-negates my posting.

BTW, revenues of U$3M IS NOT the same as profit of U$3M. A company could sell a million ten-dollar widgets, but the profit would be shit if it the widgets each took U$9.97 to produce and ship. The money that Paul supposedly borrowed were funds on account on the exchange which he liquidated unbeknownst to users. The hacked funds was Paul's bonus for providing such a robust exchange.

And a quasi-negate Bravo to you too Bruno  Grin

Here is the part I do not understand.... Any man or woman including the Pauldemort would use any stolen bitcoins regardless of how many millions he may have access to here and there. The fact he has not moved nor spent them means something is being missed. If he is dead, that explains it.

If he is alive and well, he might be keeping them where they are to double-bluff people by showing he is not in control of them... or maybe there is something else more sinister going on here. How long can he live out there in China without getting spotted? Sure there is no extradition treaty but many people from the U S of A travel to China for holidays nowadays. Maybe an ex-Cryptsy investor or reporter might bump in to him. He could easily go to the US embassy in Beijing and make an offer to surrender on conditions that he return the investment that people lost and keeps most of the profit. What a fool he is...

Breakout to the upside...could be an exciting day tomorrow...gla

Now at $1.94 and #115 on CoinMarketCap

I still do not see this card having much potential..

So of the $21 million raised how much (if any) of that went in to the pockets of the project team?
Don't invest then JG, nobody is forcing you to like MCO. There are 800+ other coins to choose from..I'm sure there must be one that ticks all your boxes...good luck with whatever you decide.

ok

Supposedly, Paul took out a company loan for ~U$1M prior to the "hack" and it was that money used to purchased the home years later which could've gone toward Cryptsy's users if Paul so concerned about them as stated while tryin' to keep the company solvent.

Paul Vernon needs to wake up and smell the coffee. He should return home to his beloved U S of A. He could easily make a plea deal with the law enforcement agents by returning the stolen amounts along with say a 20% figure and he can keep the rest to live a cushy life.

Question to Paul Vernon:
If the company was having financial problems, how is it that you were able to make a $1.3 million cash purchase on the Delray home in March 2015?

Answer given by Paul Vernon:
In the first year of operation from May 2013 to May 2014 the company had revenues of close to $3m. During this period I was paid $1.1m via the regular payroll system, base salary + quarterly bonuses. The initial purchase and down payment for that home was in February 2014. I took a loan from the company for $600k to complete the purchase at a time when the company was still performing well.

Question to Paul Vernon:
Your wife Lorie has been added to the lawsuit as a defendant. Would you like to respond on her behalf or speak to the extent of her involvement with Cryptsy?

Answer given by Paul Vernon:
She is my ex-wife. She had no involvement with Cryptsy. I cannot respond on her behalf.

16764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: July 06, 2017, 09:27:03 PM
In the world of money, it is inevitable to have lots of scammers. People who would take advantage on the less knowledgeable and rob them. thank you for alerting other people with this. Scammers are really everywhere so we should be extra careful who to make business with. There are legit experts here tho whom you can trust and can ask to.

Good advice, thank you. I have now seen that many Tom, Dick and Harry are pushing their coins and concepts for ICO.... most are dreamers and timewasters that fizzle out when they realise they have to cover holes in order to prop up their scam and investors just are not buying in to it.

I do agree with you that there are some good concepts out there

Yes it seems to be a thing these days with Devs disappearing before paying or even right away. Makes you winder why they bother in the first place. Oh well. I guess I just wrote my review for nothing.

Exactly. How can enthusiasm be built and maintained when the developers do not provide updates? Looks like this one is another dead coin before it even started.

She made 250 grand by acting... I say she did really good. The legal system made the theft of that 250k legal, so what more is there to say.

Well played.

The only other dimension to this is that maybe, just maybe, there could have been an element of truth as to her ignorance BUT the fact he bought her a house BEFORE he conveniently ran off to China (to be with his new woman along with millions of dollars in bitcoins) and she apparently did not even ask him: "hey hun, where did you get the money from to buy this million dollar plus property? Is business really going that well?"

Surely most people believe she was part of the whole scam even though she pleaded ignorance!

If she is part of the scam then she deserves to be locked up with two butch bonaza girls in a tiny cell housed within a hard labour prison... then she will have an idea of what justice looks like after scamming millions of dollars from innocent (yet maybe gullible) people !

"Dear, Paul. The house finally sold and the kids are doing fine.
When am I allowed to come to China and live with you for the rest of our lives?"

I am surprised she got away with it by claiming ignorance that her husband Paul Vernon was scamming Cryptsy and she knew nothing about it  Roll Eyes

This is investing 101.

Aside from it being far too early to call it doom (cutting losses at 50-60% is not exactly doom either, even if that were to have to happen now), investing is a gamble on risks, and you can never truly lose if you use a little bit of smarts.

Sure, you can bomb an investment or three, but only stupidity can bankrupt you.

If, however, you do use some smarts, there is plenty that can be done to reduce risk even lower. Think about the pendulum MCO had the first few hours (more than 24h mind you). With some effort it was almost childishly easy to earn some extra money without ever even touching your initial investment (thus offsetting the initial cost of the investment).

in the end it's the overall that counts. each step can either be a winner or a loser, but it's the overall game that counts.

just be smart and don't run on emotion, run on convenience and risk mitigation.

Nice way of putting things... true. In the end in most cases the long run counts more than short term as far as investors are concerned but with ICOs the project team always make a killing
16773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 05:01:07 PM
mmm.. I remember it was 1 ETH for 100 MCO at the end

They are worth $1.83 now, so that 100 MCO for 1 ETH would be just $183 and you would be at a huge loss...
16774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 04:03:15 PM
FUD here is real Cheesy You guys suck! Please go cry elsewhere. Biggest investor invested 5005 ETH, do you understand that he is not stupid and it was one of the best decisions!

You will see this going to $100 this year, you can make tons of FUD, it only helps to create buzz!

LOLLLL if you invested 5005 ETH you've already lost 2500 ETH with this pre-launch on Bittrex  Grin Grin Good investment!

I think was better don't invest in pre-sale and buy after in the exchange?

Did you think that was a good price for an ICO in pre-sale? When I saw how many MCO I could receive for 1 ETH I immediatly understand that was sooo expensive, it was easy to predict a big crash.

Anyway who bought at the pre-sale is in loss now and A LOT.

You can still hold, you are still a dreamer.

At the time of the ICO what was the ratio of ETH to MCO? How many MCO would you have received for one ETH?
16775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 03:57:49 PM
Is it true that someone invested 5005ETH in to the Monaco Card, which was valued around $1.5million?

For that much he could have started their own Monaco-esque card... the only ones to benefit so far are the team behind the project. The investor of 5005ETH should have kept his ETH and that would have been a better investment than Monaco VISA card! I guess that investor is crying now !!!

Does anyone know how much was premined before the ICO? How many coins exactly did the project team keep for themselves in the ICO? Even if it was 10% that equates to $2.1million in their pockets for doing not much and investing next to nothing themselves !
16776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 02:57:09 PM
But not behind all ICOs stand greedy managers. Some of 'em are pretty promising with clear roadmaps and believable conditions. But in this case, I think I've read it on twitter, that CEO doesn't quite understand crypto and I guess it reflected on the overall management. But hey, maybe they'll make it to the end)

Does anyone know how much was premined before the ICO? How many coins exactly did the project team have before going live?
16777  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 11:51:49 AM
Why not make a service and sell cards to users? Why you nead ICO? Look at Ledger and come up with a similar model of work.

Because ICOs make the project owners millions whether or not the project succeeds as they have investors money!

This could have been a stand alone business with no need for an ICO but the only reasons I can think of having the ICO are about greed not rewarding the project managers. $21 million was raised for this project... wow some people from the management team will be seriosuly rich regardless of whether this card succeeds or not.

16778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 11:45:57 AM
This project doesn't need money. They are buying a lot of advertisement (included YouTube).
Looks like scam.

Nice straightforward talking but time will tell... it does look fishy to me though

OH and I look forward to the NDA being removed so Horus can gossip and maybe BitJohn too who also said he was under an NDA agreement with Cryptsy.

I remember when Horus was just drifter or grifter on Cryptsy chat.. Hahaha ha grifter!
I could tell he was somebody instantly.. When Cryptsy made him a chat mod with a new name.
He showed up with that name and I pointed my finger at him and I told him I know you jdtmp LOL
Point being is it can be a lot of work hiding your typing style & personality.

But Horus do you think this JollyGood guy could be Vern?
I ask because I am guessing you dealt with Vern more than many of us.
He rarely ever came on chat or here to talk.

I look forward to reading up on what Horus_Cryptsy will add. Does any NDA still stand legally? I mean he said he was not paid his salary in full and they later sacked him therefore effectively the NDA is surely non-existent especially since the company is owned by Uncle Sam now. What is stopping Horus_Cryptsy or this BitJohn bloke from talking now if he also was a legal employee of Cryptsy? And if any NDA was broken, who exactly will take him/them to court?

Honestly, I am not the elusive Paul Vernon but if he sees this post will he please stand up!

16780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ANN [MCO] MONACO #1 Cryptocurrency Payments Card on: July 06, 2017, 11:08:57 AM
All right, so it's not a VISA card. Who then, MasterCard? And who is the card issuer?

lol there is something fishy with this naming Smiley

Exactly my point! If the "Monaco VISA card" is not a conventional VISA card then what is the point?

With $21 million raised this card could have been a real time VISA/MASTERCARD type of debit card but instead the project owners linked this card to a coin and made them intrecately bound so one cannot survive without the other. The coin itself is one of 1000 out there that people do not need nor use unless they exchange them for other coins which ultimately are swapped for bitcoins.

This card had real potential if managed properly from the beginning but this will be a disaster. Now selling at $1.88 on CoinMarketCap and unless the direction changes fast this will be another Titanic. If it sinks the only ones laughing will be the fish in the Atlantic along with the premining ICO owners who may have sold plenty of stock one day one. The average Joe Blogg probably will lose out... again
