We are not talking about normal situations. If you are in a life or death situation, then at least for me morality will be the least of my concerns. If there is no other option to survive other than eating flesh from a human corpse, then trust me, I'll readily do that. For me, the survival instinct over-rules everything else. Doesn't mean that I don't have morality or ethics.

But the problem is that it is not up to us. Even if 99% of the world's population agree on conserving the planet, there will be the remaining 1% who are hell bent upon destroying it. There are more than 230 countries in the world. And preserving the planet requires combined effort from all of them. Even if one of two doesn't agree, then all the effort will be wasted.

I really doubt whether this planet will remain inhabitable for humans after 100 years from now. The Carbon dioxide levels are rising at an alarming rate, and there are other issues such as increasing atmospheric pollution, rising sea levels and global warming. Most probably, the humans will be living either in underground colonies or specially designed submarine modules.

Recreational drugs are mostly harmless, if used in a proper manner. But when you mix various drugs in to a cocktail or when you consume along with alcohol or energy drinks, problems can arise. And this is especially a major concern for people with prior complications, such as having past history of cardiac conditions or weak liver.

Time travel is just a myth. Just admit it. You can't go back in time. It is not possible, either scientifically or theoretically. No amount of scientific advance will make time travel a reality. You can't try to discover something which never exist. For now, just watch a few movies which deal with time travel, such as Looper, Donnie Darko, and Interstellar.

But you need to remember that post offices still exist, and they are doing pretty well, considering the current situation. And here in India, only a small minority of the population use emails. Most of the communication is done either through phone, or through post. And postal services such as money transfer are quite popular here.

Ridiculous. Who is going to believe all this BS? There is a lot of anti-Russian and anti-Putin propaganda churned out by the Western mainstream media and no one outside the United States is going to believe any of it. Meanwhile, Putin is enjoying an approval rating of close to 85% and if he had done anything like that, then the ratings would be far lower.

As we are moving towards having only two religions (Islam and Christianity), that diversity is getting lost. Even here in India, I can see before my own eyes how different tribes are losing their culture once they are getting converted to Christianity. The missionaries forbid them to sing their traditional songs and they are not even allowed to do ancestor worship.

It can happen, if the people want that to happen. On the other hand, if the people are complacent, then they should also share a part of the blame. If none of the citizens are ready to pay bribes and they are ready to report such incidents to the higher authorities, then I am sure that no one will have the courage to demand bribes.

It is a difficult situation. By the time the other person dies, you will also be close to death. Then there may not be enough power left in your body to cut up his body and cook it. But still, I agree with what you had posted. I would say a strict no-no to murder. Even it is for the purpose of survival. If the other guy attacks you, then it is a different story.

There are a lot of terrorist groups out there and only some of them are Jihadists. There are secular groups out there, such as the FARC and the ELN of Colombia. Then there are Catholic based groups, such as the Real IRA of Ireland and the ETA of Basque/Spain. There are also Baptist and Presbyterian terrorist groups, such as the NSCN and NLFT of India.

I don't know how effective that is going to be. If the criminal is tortured for a few days or weeks, then that would serve the purpose. But then, the human rights groups will go ballistic over any such proposal. Forget torture, even physical or chemical castration for pedophiles is not acceptable for these groups. There was an incident when Czech Republic was about to introduce such punishments.

Bitcoin can't be banned by the government, but the authorities can make the lives of Bitcoin users really miserable. For example, they can detain Bitcoin users and try to confiscate their coins (in an extreme scenario). Else they can freeze bank accounts which are used for Bitcoin to fiat trading. If something like that happens, then the exchange rates are going to slide down. 

I am optimistic about the future of Bitcoin. But what makes me slightly skeptical is the fact that Bitcoin is a digital asset. And digital assets usually have a very small life span. They will become obsolete once better technology is available in the market. Right now, there is no such danger for Bitcoin, as its main competition comes from BCH. But this can change in the future.

Ideally it should be both. But the high fees is hindering its usage as a payment medium. So I would say that Bitcoin is an investment asset which can be used to store your wealth, while other cryptos such as Bitcoin Cash and Ether can be used both as a mode of payment and as an investment asset. The last time I checked, there were around 180K unconfirmed transactions in the Blockchain. It is going to get worse.

There are chances that $40,000 per coin can be achieved this month itself, since CBOE and CME are about to start the Bitcoin futures trading. In 2018, NASDAQ is also planning to list Bitcoin futures. That is going to be huge. Once that happens, Bitcoin will be fully mainstream and no one can accuse Bitcoin of being a currency of the criminals and the drug dealers.

One very important thing about Bitcoin is that you can never accuse the person who invented it of being money-minded. Because from whatever evidence we are having, it is clear that Satoshi Nakamoto never profited out of the coins which he mined. Even now $16 billion worth of Bitcoins are lying idle in his wallet and they are lying there since 2009.

When I first purchased Bitcoins in 2014, the exchange rate was around $700 per coin. But I paid almost 20% premium, as the local exchange rates in India were much higher than the global exchange rates. After I purchased the coins, the rates went down for almost 2 years. The break even price was reached sometime in 2016, when I sold a part of my stash.

Just wait for one more week and you will get the shock of your life. Once the Bitcoin futures get listed in CBOE/CME, the exchange rates can explode. Either the market cap can go up to $1 trillion, or it can go down to $10 billion. It is difficult to predict the prices now, but the problem with futures trading is that a lot of people are going to lose their money.

Demand is rising due to a number of reasons. But the most important reason is that the Bitcoin futures listing by CBOE/CME. The listing is going to happen within the next few hours and we can expect wild swings in the exchange rates. Till now, only the amateur crypto enthusiasts were trying to manipulate the Bitcoin prices. But from tomorrow onward, the wall street giants will enter the scene.
