Bounty manager! Please update the signature campaign spreadsheet.

According to the official website, the team prolonged its ICO for three months, therefore I want to join another BitcoinTalk signature campaign. I earned some stakes within 7 weeks, so I would like to keep my stakes in the spreadsheet.

I will not change my signature and avatar until January 9, 2019. I am asking your permission to leave this signature campaign.

Bounty manager, thank you for updating the spreadsheet.

I was honest and did not change my signature and avatar but now I need to leave this signature campaign. Please keep the stakes I earned.

Best regards.

1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the right time to buy ETH. on: December 29, 2018, 04:20:53 PM
Since the developers are going to improve the Ethereum blockchain and its consensus in January 2019, I guess that this useful hard fork called as Constantinople can reduce the supply of ETH coins on crypto exchange markets. Obviously, even the founder Vitalik Buterin contributed to the upcoming software upgrade. Yes, this is positive news for Ethereum, so it is the right time to buy some ETH coins.
1685  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Inflation on: December 29, 2018, 03:35:59 PM
the only inflation in bitcoin is related to the supply which keep increase up to 2140, but from 2030 you can already avoid counting that

Most of the new mined BTC coins is likely to be in the hands of Chinese mining pools. They have a lot of ASICs and add the majority of blocks to the Bitcoin blockchain.

About 16 million BTC coins have already been mined. Another 5 million BTC coins will be mined in the future. A small circle of rich people probably will concentrate a large amount of coins in their Bitcoin-addresses, so this situation may lead to price manipulation on crypto exchange markets.

In my opinion, Bitcoin inflation is still high. The miners receive 12.5 BTC for each mined block.
1686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 55K loss, how to get back into the game on: December 29, 2018, 03:18:43 PM
NO. You invested 60000 dollars in Bitcoin and are left with coins worth 5000 dollars. This can mean a loss if you were to sell right now. The market doesn't show a true price of something at every given moment. It's volatile. If it swings from 4000 to 5000 one day and the other day it falls down to 3500 what was the real price? Does this price today at 3500 mean that this is what it was worth all along and you made a mistake buying at 4000?

I guess that OP invested not in Bitcoin but in some altcoins, because his losses amount to $55K / $60K = about 91%. Bitcoin has never fallen so low even if this investor bought it at the all-time high.

As a rule, dumped altcoins slowly recover to the maximal value of prices, because investors lose their confidence in this crypto currency. That's why I suppose that the OP needs to cash out these dumped altcoins and spend the remaining $5K for some undervalued and promising crypto currency which can make 10x in a short time. But in this case, the risks will be high.
1687  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] Members who have a lot of earned sMerits on: December 29, 2018, 01:55:37 PM
Weekly update.

This week all forum members have accumulated another 515 sMerits.

Those 3 TXs where reverted by @theymos at the time. Anyway, being off a couple of TXs between external non-official DBs is not really much of an issue really.

As far as I know, theymos never published the file "merit.all.txt". He regularly publishes the file "merit.txt.xz" which contains the latest transactions of merit transfer. I agree that those 2 transactions have been deleted/reverted.

Let's manually calculate the amount of merits received by Storx. Roll Eyes

At first, he was a Full Member on January 24, 2018, so he received 100 airdropped merits. Let's assume that he also received 7 sMerits that is the maximal amount of sMerits airdropped on a Full Member.

I will use data from the resource made by LoyceV:
http://loyce.club/Merit/history/516296.html

Quote
Feb 8, 01:30:58 - Storx received 20 merit from crazydane (and has 7 + (20 / 2) = 17 sMerits)
Feb 26, 23:44:33 - Storx received 1 merit from philipma1957 (and has 17.5 sMerits)
Feb 27, 01:17:36 - Storx received 1 merit from vapourminer (and has 18 sMerits)
Mar 3, 22:05:08 - Storx received 1 merit from vapourminer (and has 18.5 sMerits)
Mar 5, 18:54:06 - Storx received 1 merit from vapourminer (and has 19 sMerits)
Apr 6, 11:19:00 - Storx received 5 merits from deadsix (and has 21.5 sMerits)
Apr 6, 14:34:53 - Storx received 1 merit from vapourminer (and has 22 sMerits)
Apr 16, 03:44:39 - Storx received 1 merit from philipma1957 (and has 22.5 sMerits)
Apr 19, 00:39:48 - Storx received 1 merit from vapourminer (and has 23 sMerits)
Jul 17, 10:03:54 - Storx received 50 merits from Elwar
Jul 17, 16:59:01 - Storx received 15 merits from viboracecata (and has 30.5 sMerits)
Jul 18, 10:09:07 - Storx received 6 merits from dndssc (and has 33.5 sMerits)
Jul 18, 10:10:37 - Storx received 3 merits from mRasika (and has 35 sMerits)
Jul 18, 20:32:50 - Storx received 3 merits from rod1234 (and has 36.5 sMerits)
Jul 18, 20:36:04 - Storx received 4 merits from fundream (and has 38.5 sMerits)
Jul 18, 20:38:10 - Storx sent 50 merits to vitruvio (and has -11.5 sMerits)
Jul 19, 09:15:45 - Storx received 11 merits from vindicare
Jul 19, 21:25:56 - Storx received 3 merits from kyori

On Jul 18, 20:38:10, Storx had a negative amount of sMerits. Is he a merit source? Of course, not.

Now let's exclude the "deleted" transaction and summarize the amount of merits received by Storx:

Code:
20 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 1
+ 15 + 6 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 11 + 3 = 83 merits

Let's look at his forum profile:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=516296

Quote
Name: Storx
Posts: 657
Activity: 322
Merit: 233
Position: Full Member

In fact, he received not 83 merits but 133 merits.

Since it was a large amount and a clear-cut case, I deleted those merit sends.

theymos said the truth. He deleted those 2 merit sends. Smiley

1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum hard fork january 2019 on: December 28, 2018, 12:25:57 PM
Indeed. Ethereum needs to be improved, so it will see an important Constantinople hard fork in January, 2019.

As far as I understand, the developers want to introduce 5 new features in the blockchain technology of Ethereum. The founder Vitalik Buterin proposed his scaling solution to be implemented in the new version of the software.

I'm astonished by the reduction of block mining from 3 ETH to 2 ETH, which is based on state channels and side-chain transactions. I guess that this improvement can have a positive impact on the ETH price in the future, because inflation will be reduced.
1691  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no magic in trading on: December 28, 2018, 11:54:55 AM
Trades in most cases end up being a disappointment, regardless of the outcome. If you buy at $100 and the price falls to $70 you are disappointed. If you buy at $100 sell at $120 but the price goes up to $150 you are yet again disappointed. In other words, the nothingness in trading continues for as long as you keep traing.

In this instance, people would get disappointed if they sustained losses selling at $70 rather than they feared of missing out, selling at $120. The magic in trading is a choose the right time to buy coins and the right time to sell coins. Since crypto exchange markets are highly manipulated and extremely volatile, trader cannot use technical analysis and should be a magician to determine the best time for purchasing assets. As an option, trader needs to continuously change own trading methodology depending on the current circumstances in the markets.

There is no magic in digits. The essence of trading lies in the mostly psychological ability to predict price movements.
1692  Local / Русский (Russian) / Re: [ЛOГ] Пoльзoвaтeли, пoвыcившиe cвoй paнг - Пoздpaвлeния! on: December 28, 2018, 10:50:52 AM

LV5ME, NeMWagneR, JagerBeen.

1693  Other / Meta / Re: [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! on: December 28, 2018, 10:18:03 AM
Recurrent update.

o_e_l_e_o has earned enough merits for ranking up to Legendary but does not have sufficient activity even to become a Hero Member.

Coding Enthusiast and roycilik are new Hero Members. The last one is active in the indonesian local board.

ICOEthics, kenzawak and asche have ranked up to Senior Members. The last two users are active in the french local board.

The moderator of the french local board and the merit source Halab has become a Full Member.

The following users have also reached a Full Member level: frankbitcoin, mikeywith, RivAngE, bluefirecorp_, dgcarlosleon, Devawnm367. In my opinion, the last two members look suspicious receiving 50 merits in a single transaction for ordinary posts.

Congratulations on ranking up! Cool

DdmrDdmr was one of the best users here in the forum.

I agree with you. DdmrDdmr is a useful member and contributes to the forum well.
1694  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed for a recession? on: December 26, 2018, 12:00:22 PM
I definitely think the Stock markets are long overdue for a correction and all the bad political decisions like Brexit and also the trade wars are not helping the situation. I personally think 2019 are going to be a bad year for all Stock exchanges and investors are going to shift their investments to safe havens soon.

I think that the fundamental reasons are ready for heading a recession of the global economy in 2019. The FED continues to increase the interest rates, so there are no more cheap dollars. Maybe this is deliberate actions to win a trade war against other countries.

Bitcoin will also be negatively impacted by the global economic situation and we might see a lower price than $3000, if the Bitcoin ETF is not approved by the SEC.  Angry

Let Bitcoin do not fall below $3000. In general, rich people invest their extra money in the crypto currency market, so they will cash out the purchased coins as fast as they can if serious troubles arise on traditional stock markets.
1695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: With a booming on 2017 and difficult time on 2018, will Bitcoin recover on 2019? on: December 26, 2018, 10:49:18 AM
I've read some ideas here and thought it was really a good time to do a review when 2018 will pass soon.

Moreover, will Bitcoin totally recover on 2019?

The hype of crypto currencies has ended in 2017, so Bitcoin price slowly declined during 2018. It is needed to wait for May 2020. Perhaps the halving of mining rewards will have a positive impact on the BTC price. I suppose Bitcoin can grow to $10K, but I doubt that BTC will reach $20K in 2019.
1696  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-25] Bitmain: Bitcoin Mining Giant to Sack 50% of Its Workforce on: December 26, 2018, 10:34:38 AM
Bitmain had almost 2,000 employees working across its mining and blockchain development verticals. It is expected to drop to 300 by the time the reported sacking concludes.

Ok, at this point they are just blowing it out of proportion.... 300 from 2000 means an 85% cut, let's be real..

I'm wondering how this company will develop and manufacture new ASIC models if so many employees are laid off. Bitmain looks like an innovative company, so many technical and economic specialist are working on creating the modern S15 miner with hashrate = 34 TH and power = 1500 watts.

Bitmain seems to have problems with their business model. Perhaps some news reporters exaggerate these temporary troubles.
1697  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-12-23] Number of Reachable Bitcoin Nodes Fell 19% in 2018 on: December 26, 2018, 10:00:52 AM
I think that the Chinese mining pools with a lot of ASICs took a big chunk of the entire Bitcoin mining market. A mining pool looks like an ordinary full node but it is very powerful and has a huge hashrate.

In my opinion, -19% is a significant fall. Probably these full nodes didn't mine sufficient Bitcoin blocks and didn't get enough rewards to cover the expenses this year, therefore their administrators decided to shut them down so as not to incur losses.

Actually, this is not a good sign. Decentralization is needed for crypto currencies.
1698  Local / Кодеры / Re: Анти-пул алгоритм PoW on: December 25, 2018, 08:02:59 AM

My post on the first page has been updated.

According to statistics, the total number of sMerits earned by all members increases by about 400 each week.

Not quite on topic, but I feel bad. I've not been very active over the last few days, and my source merits have been stacking up. I'll need to have a merit awarding blitz tomorrow, and get them down to an approved level.

We really could do with the ability to delegate merits - especially to some of the local boards.

In my opinion, there is no need to delegate merits. theymos has already delegated sMerits to you for distributing them among the members, because you are a trustful merit source and contribute to the forum well.

I wish you good health.

We are practically are on the same page in terms of aggregate minimum current stored sMerit: I make it a few more, 38.446 in the hands of 7.785 forum members, which is very near your figures. We do seem to differ though in terms of distribution by rank:
Code:
~snip~
It’s strange, since I updated my rank information yesterday (rank derived from user profile, and only Copper Member has been stripped to equivalent real rank). I make it that there are 1.009 Newbies with 2.873 sMerits, which I’d say are merged in your Jr. Member rank level.

Yes, these ranks are based on the amount of merits regardless of current activity.

I was actually surprised to see the difference between our overall statistics. It seems that my total number of users who have sMerits is greater by one than your total number. Therefore I compared my file containing all merit transfer transactions to the "merit.all.txt" file made by LoyceV.

I noticed that the following transaction is missing in the "merit.all.txt" file:
Code:
1531821834	50	2674194.msg36115570	554	516296

As far as I can see, the red tagged user #516296 named as Storx started with 100 merits, received 133 merits and now has 233 merits. I guess that this transaction has not been deleted and should be restored in the "merit.all.txt" file. In this case our overall statistics will be equal.
