I find it amusing that the very fact that people keep yelling: "the price should go down, I want to buy!" is basically what is keeping prices up.  Grin

Could someone help me out?
I've registed a load of aliases yesterday, but they still do not show up in the block chain?
Is this a known delay or do I need someone to work on it manually?

perhaps you've made a small deadline , try 20-60 minutes... an check if your NXT's returned from the uncofirmed transactions

No NXT were returned and they do show up in the https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=listAccountAliases&account=YOURACCOUNT link...

Is there any reliability in the "you can generate the next block in" calculation?  Mine fluctuates from 5 hours to 20 days and then back again.  Also, maybe a stupid question, but if I never generate my own block (I'm assuming this is possible considering I have 28k NXT), will I ever generate any fees?  Or are most of us just holding the coins for appreciation in value?

The FAQ basically says it is a véry rough guideline, so I myself don't pay attention to it anymore.

why i only get 1 alias on in my account that i apply more than 10, it is 3days pass i dont think time is the reason, there must something wrong, someone knows?

You can check your aliases here: https://localhost:7875/nxt?requestType=listAccountAliases&account=YOURACCOUNT

Aliases are added manually for the time being according to the info on the blockchain viewer: "ALIASES (until stable, updated manually every 24h)"

yes i checked,it is only one i dont know what happened

That's strange.
I applied for loads, can see one on my account page atm, but with that link I can see all the ones I applied for.
Hopefully a developer can help you out.

It's quite nice to be in a community where people are actually cheering when prices drop.  Grin

Is there something weird going on in nxt network / blockchain?

http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=2000&tra=14529141608986373607

there's one of my transactions: Over 12 hour ago it was 556/1440 confirmations and now it is 530/1440. What happened to 26 confirmations? And is it normal to take +24h for 1440?

1 Transaction per min, give or take so yes 1440 a day

At the moment we are not reaching 1440 blocks every day though. The average seems to be around 800, so it will take more than 24 hours to get to 1440.

http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=40&sub=7

Hmm, okay.

Still having hard time to understand where did the confirmations go. It took something around 12h to make it 556/1440 and now in the NEXT +12h it went down to 530/1440.

Can I still have faith that it will go up to 1440?  Roll Eyes

Mine has been slower than expected, too, but it's getting there.
As to faith: over the past few days I've seen the people here working very hard and successfully to get things working.

So yes Cheesy

Edit: the "mining" mentality is a weird mindset.
No, it's not. People love fast profits and such thing easily clouds mind far away from seeing long-term scenarios. Absolutely normal.

I'm not saying it isn't understandable. I've been known to go for "$$$$ by sitting on your butt!!!" schemes  Grin

"Weird" includes me, too. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be pointed out, once in a while  Wink

So why would I spend the money on more H/W - why wouldn't I buy more NXT?

Basically, the more sound the network is, the more value it represents.
If the NXT has more value, because the tech behind it is more trustworty, 10 NXT could easily be worth more than, say, 100 NXT.

You could basically own ALL NXT and still have nothing, because no one places value on it, or you could own a few that are worth loads.

So, spending money on hardware is an investment in the value of the NXT.

Edit: the "mining" mentality is a weird mindset.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 26, 2013, 11:17:06 PM
My mate told me not to invest in NXT because it's going up way too quick and it will go down a bit again. What do you think?
Also it sucks that BTC went up so the investment will be even more expensive.

Depends on what you can spend and if you think you can gain.
The market fluctuates, sure, but noone knows what the equilibrium point of a NXT will be.
Could be that it will drop (a bit or massively), could be that it will go even higher.

My advice would be to wait a bit if you are short of investment cash. I think it will drop eventually and then you can step in more easily.

However, this is just an educated guess, so don't send hitmen to shoot me if I am wrong.  Wink

As a last point to the "Waah, unfair" group, I'd like to point out that the biggest account out there at the moment (12292439833850569026) actually bought all his NXT from DGEX.

No founder or nothing, just a quick invester who bought 55,000,000 NXT at a price that at that moment would have set him or her back 100-400 BTC.

Interesting, how'd you know?

It's all in the block chain, open and for everyone to see.

If people actually would take to effort to look things up, that is  Wink

Edit: historical prices can be looked up at: http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=1-month&resolution=day&pair=nxt-btc&market=dgex

Can I sum up the last pages of rants as: "IT'S NOT FAIR! WAAAAH!"?

Nobody is forcing you to buy it. So don't.

I invested halfway and am sorry to not have been a part earlier because, yes, I'd have made big winnings.

I didn't and nothing is going to change that. So my profits (if I dumped now) will always be lower than the early birds. Tough shit.

Suck it up and go do trading on an exchange. Plenty of room to earn some money there.

But, OH NO, that means taking a risk and investing!

Maybe you should just stick to putting your money in the bank and getting some interest.

lol 70 people has premined all nxt.
What do you want? only 1-3% is on trade.
97% they hold.
So price is the total bullshit, "Artificial Scarsity".
Market is totally controlled by 70 people, ideas are great but this distributed premine - totally SCUM coin.
Only 1 of them can drop the price to 0.

Now they are selling slowly little %, after some month/year(if nxt will be still alive), they will be close to limite when can loose control, so they will drop the price and buy all coin at cheap price that before they sold.
Haha, nice.
I must say they created the most beatiful scum model i have seen so far in world of crypto coins.
If nxt will be popular in future - at the moment of drop it will be the biggest scum ever, top 1.

I like the fact that in your very first post on this forum, not 6 days ago, you actually promoted NXT Smiley

Does anyone know what 5874614062205245396 is doing? They're sending 500 Nxt to everyone. Is there some giveaway that I'm missing out on? Shocked

Yes, you can go here and it's still open  Smiley

This is bigger than the Dogecoin scam.

I think you misunderstand the difference between a joke that began to lead its own life and a scam...

This may cause you all kinds of trouble in later life.
