1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred GPU Miner v4.1 (Windows/Linux) on: May 03, 2016, 07:33:30 AM
So I finally added the last 2 GPUs to my mining rig.  Before, I had 4 cards hooked up and everything hashed as expected, but with some "mildly" frequent disconnects from pools (especially suprnova), according to the software.

Last night I added the last 2 390x's, and everything booted and all cards were recognized just fine.  However, once I start the miner, TeamViewer would almost immediately disconnect and I would have a very hard time reconnecting.  The miner reported eth hashrate as expected (~160 mh), but my pool (coinotron) reports only 2-5 mh, which is a fraction of what it should be.  I tried running Genoi's latest release, but the CPU usage jumped to 99% once the mining started, and after a couple minutes I saw TeamViewer disconnecting as well as display driver crashes, so quickly scrapped that strategy.

I'm not really sure what might be the issue, but it seems maybe the wireless adapter I have installed isn't doing what it needs to.  Any advice as to what might be the issue?  For completeness sake:

4gb RAM
Celeron CPU
2x 1k watt PSU
4x 390x
2x 280x
Windows 10

Thanks!

I had a similar issue previously, until I installed a "headless HDMI or DVI adapter" - after that my TeamViewer or VNC connects as per normal as if the remote irg is attached to a PC monitor.

Well, whenever I first start the rig up, I have a monitor plugged into the first GPU, and I still see the same behavior.  TeamViewer only disconnects or somehow seems less stable when I fire up a miner....

Ok, so I'm quite sure my first problem is the wireless adapter I'm using.  Plugged in using an ethernet cable, I get steady connection and have no problems also connecting TeamViewer.  Unfortunately, the spot I want my rig is nowhere near where my modem/router is, so I need to find a dependable wireless solution.  Any suggestions?

2nd problem: Once I wired in to my network, I noticed that after a few minutes of running all 6 cards, a couple of them would reach 94+ temps.  At which point, display driver would fail, and the 3 GPUs I had plugged into my 2nd PSU would turn off (sometimes the others would stay, sometimes the entire rig would just shut down).  So, I guess I need to buy a Kill-A-Watt or similar to monitor voltages from each PSU.

Given I have 2x 280x and 4x 390x, does anyone have a recommendation for how to configure them?  I mean, how many cards into the primary PSU, and how many in secondary PSU (I'm using Add2PSU to connect the 2x 1000 watt PSUs).

Thanks for any feedback!

1 problem : a longer ethernet cable
2 problem :1 psu is in the pc case ? if it is u must count the pc elec/ty consumption
i dont think that 1000w  is enouph for 3 gpus and pc consumption ((kill a watt to see pc cons/ion))

@Claymore

can this help u eccelerate the speed of yr miner?

New miner binaries now available! Updated the OP text to reflect the release. Big thanks to Epsylon3 and Wolf0 who completed RFP-5 milestones that made this release possible! More information in the announcement.

https://forum.decred.org/threads/new-miner-binaries-now-available.3409/

i just ask....
tks

In that thread I don't see any comments that confirm that new release is faster for AMD. Though I know how to speedup DCR mining by 5-10% and will do it in future.

ok tks

Someone please help me I am having a time with how to use the wallet. I got a wallet address but I can't find a working GUI so I can actually manage my coins.  I tried Decred Wallet Beta 0.7 but it's just a blank damn window.

And what does this have to do with the miner and ETH?. Nothing. So post this elsewhere wayyyy off topic.

relax, its just a timeout...

Hi, I try for first time this Dual miner, so far I mined only ETH with my 2x290(I have 4 machines with 2x290). Installed 15.12 driver and made corrections to start.bat and now looks like this:
these commnands u need only once (( new OS install )) (( go to control panel/system/advanced system settings/advanced/environment variables/user variables )) to check

setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.nanopool.org:8888 -ewal 0x3d5f3243ed50c3614efbe6853bab45d1a55a5892/probt -epsw x -dpool dcr.suprnova.cc:9112 -dwal DseAYH56epfWxYmdo8XD9voCbrej9vwPpEi -dpsw x

I think all was going fine but I receive this:

16:22:43:011   13bc   checkread timeout
16:22:43:011   13bc   ETH: Job timeout, disconnect, retry in 20 sec...
16:22:44:281   13c8   checkread timeout
16:22:44:284   13c8    DCR: Job timeout, disconnect, retry in 20 sec...

[/quote]
try this :
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool eu1.nanopool.org:8888 -ewal 0x3d5f3243ed50c3614efbe6853bab45d1a55a5892 -epsw x -ethi 10 -dpool stratum+tcp://dcr.suprnova.cc:2252 -dwal user.worker -dpsw pass -dcri 50 -mode 0

Which decred pool is best atm?

I tried suprnova and pool.mn, but on both pools I see 20-25% of hashrate reported by miner 3.3 :S

Trying zpool.ca with

-dpool stratum+tcp://mine.zpool.ca:5744 -dwal DecredWallet -dpsw c=DCR,decred

But I see no accepted shares on-site :/

i mine in pool.mn with 0.5% rejects

Hi,

first, thank you very much for this wonderful miner.
This is being one of the best miners...

I have a 5 card rig and individual pcs with single cards inside arround.
I have no problem with single gpu card pcs. They mine wonderfull.

The problematic 5 card rig,
PC mem was 4Gigabytes. Now 8. and I moded to enable 5th GPU.
the 5 card rig, with 3.2 miner, PC RESTARTS after dag file generation and approximately after 10 minutes of hashing.

Now I'm trying the 3.3 version. Hope it's not the low memory (8GB).
With Ethminer system works just fine. without crashing.

-

Is there any way you can program if the gpu temp reaches let's say 80 degrees celcius, slows hashing to keep the temp at 80
I have card 86 degrees fan is %100

Claymore you are doing a good job
Thanks in advance

I have two 6 card rigs mining flawlessly with Win7 x64 8Gb system RAM. Your problem has nothing to do with low memory but with excess heat. If your cards are at 86º and fan already at 100% you have to improve your cooling. Try adding extra fans. I use a small USB fan to push fresh air from bellow and two 120mm fans (connected to the motherboard as case fans) to pull the hot air from above.

I use the -tt 75 parameter and my cards are always around 72º with fans ~60%.

I see. I will plan a fan system asap. Thanks.

With ethminer system is working without PC restarting, using Dual Miner is heating up the cards more ? because it's dual mining ?
May be I missed if somebody already mentioned this?

Blake 256 is heavier algo and accelerate the heat/...

Is it just me or anyone notice that when you comment on a Lisk fanboy who stops into the WAVES thread, your post gets deleted by the Mod.  hmm...makes you wonder. lol

same here....

more details....

Code:
I am new to mining.
I have been running ethOS on a couple machines (http://539eaf.ethosdistro.com/#), so I have been able to muddle my way through beginners Linux. (once I found out nano was the text editor  ::) )

I have an SSD with Windows 10 on the way and I am hoping to be prepared to make the change when it arrives later this week. I think I am close  ??? and 2 weeks from now (when I switch my other rig) this will be easy.

So from here - https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B69wv2iqszefdFZUV2toUG5HdlU
I download this - Claymore's Dual Ethereum+Decred AMD GPU Miner v3.2 Beta - POOL Catalyst 15.12.zip
unzip that, then -

I need a quick primer on using Command Prompt
How do I edit a file?
What file do I edit?
Looks like this right?

runme.bat
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethermine.org:4444 -esm 1 -ewal 0x073572819f00d3c6bbad77e6a8f247303414e4ed -epsw x -dpool -eworker Abcedarian.JG1221 -epsw x stratum+tcp://stratum+tcp://dcr.suprnova.cc:2252 -dwal TsdUrZVC36SrWP6hudytm7jxkrP3WEWW8b1 -dpsw x --tt85 -dcri 20 -r 0

Then I am ready to start?

I am getting this error at Supernova.pool Huh

-  Failed to update your account: Invalid coin address

The address is from- https://wallet.decred.org/#/
Am I supposed to mine to something other than my decred wallet?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

i've had the same problem. you cant use the webwallet because it creates a TEMPORARY adress for recieving payments. download the decred wallet and make your own wallet then add it to the pool. you can also use a wallet from bittrex, which i would not reccomend for safety.

here's an easy guide to setting your decred wallet up!

https://forum.decred.org/threads/brief-guide-setting-up-mainnet-wallet-airdop-included-with-basic-commands-os-neutral.478/

you will also be able to stake your mined decred! Smiley
