1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 04, 2023, 06:45:39 AM
So what do you guys think was the cause of suden dip of zugacoin?
Anyone who tries to market a project to you and highlights or tells you the developers/creators/teams are christians or Muslims, know it's a scam waiting to happen.

BTW, it's abominable to compare Bitcoin with Zugacoin.

Real sad that people will desecrate their religion just to deceive the people in same Faith, to buy into a scam project. Karl Max, said that religion is the opium of the masses, and people will ignorantly believe anything sold in the name of their religion.

This means that Zugacoin, was designed to fail from the beginning, after the owner must have emersed wealth from unsuspecting victims, most of whom probably bought into the scam project because of religion. You can't compare this with bitcoin, being the first cryptocurrency, that was created to be decentralized and has proven it's worth over the years in the crypto space.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top altcoin that you won't buy anymore on: December 03, 2023, 07:24:38 PM
actually I don't have any restrictions on what altcoins I should buy, and what I shouldn't. it all depends on the circumstances and situation. However, personally, apart from bitcoin I only focus on Ethereum and BNB in my portfolio. Apart from that, I don't have any interest in holding large quantities considering that the halving could affect prices higher, so I focus on collecting the coins in the portfolio that I have. However, if things change, I might add some other potential coins. What is clear, I will not buy altcoins that have no development from past to present, or have experienced a decline and even tend to be scams, usually it is a list of altcoins that are not among the popular coins, and have a very small community.

You just named my top three crypto coins, bitcoin at the very top, then ethereum and bnb, although with all the recent saga in binance, bnb is a little in question for now, but I'm  still positive that the coin will not be affected. Not a fan of altcoins much, but from the feelers that I'm getting, I hear that litecoin, is not as promising as it was before, might just be speculation, but I won't put my money on it now. For new altcoins, it doesn't matter their names, I hear they're very profitable in the short term, but also time bombs, I wouldn't go near them.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 03, 2023, 03:03:48 PM
If you ask me I will say only buy Bitcoin but I see why latecomers are attracted elsewhere, there are other cryptocurrencies with unique features & potential for large growth. Diversification is key for some people, It is advisable to research & understand the potential of different cryptocurrencies considering factors such as technology, adoption & market trends. Each cryptocurrency offers different opportunities & risks so a balanced investment strategy that includes a mix of cryptocurrencies may be more beneficial for some in the long run.

I'm a newcomer and I share old timers believes, just like yours, that bitcoin remains the crypto coin that I can put my money in and go to sleep. It has proven it's worth as the pacesetter in the crypto market, it dictates the pace that others thread. Altcoins were painted like plagues to me before now, I still have a little of that phobia till today about buying them, but with my increased knowledge, I know that it's not all altcoins that are potential "shitcoins". I look forward to buying some top altcoins now, to cash in with my bitcoin, because I know that bitcoin bull run will make them to be profitable too. New projects can be more profitable but it's not for me, I like to minimize my loses.

1684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im TIRED of SCAM exchanges - is there an verified list on: December 03, 2023, 01:29:35 PM
Why go further down the ladder when you can choose from top exchanges that have good reputations. When it comes to crypto affairs, whether it's crypto coins or exchanges, I go with the ones that come highly recommended, because from my observation there are lots of scam altcoins, so it's not surprising that there'll be scam exchanges too. Except these unpopular exchanges have something unique and different to offer, it's best to stick with trusted exchanges like binance, kucoin and other established exchanges.
1685  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War in world questions on: December 03, 2023, 12:50:22 PM
There had been lots of speculations that world war 3 is going to start from the war between Russia and Ukraine but till now we have not seen anything like that. The world is still going to last longer than we imagine.
World war 3 is not going to start now so we don't have to be in pacnic at all. Freedom will dominate and the world is going to embrace peace again through negotiations between world countries.

People talk about world war 3 like it's a latest model of video game that's about to be launched or some upcoming blockbuster movie, that's about to premiere soon. I guess it's ignorant people that lives in peaceful counties that will speak about war like it's a cool thing. Anytime that two countries are in conflict or war, some people will use it as a propaganda to predict ww3, I think that this is a very sad development which should be discouraged. Even when one or two developing countries are having conflicts, same prophets of doom will speculate how powerful nations are backing each country, and how it can escalate to ww3. My information to this set of people is that if ww3 were to start now, it'll reach their peaceful domain.
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm looking for sites with good sports predictions on: December 03, 2023, 11:24:00 AM
Please recommend good sites with quality sports predictions and detailed analyses of predictions

I'd recommend poking around on Google first.  There's tons of websites with sports picks and break downs.  When deciding which one to use, think about what sports you wanna track and how in-depth you want them to go.

Out of curiosity, what kinds of sites have you tried so far? Was there anything in particular you didn't love or found lacking about their coverage and predictions? Knowing what hasn't worked for you might help us to give you better alternatives.

I guess that I'm such an amateur in gambling that I've not even considered that there should be sports predicting sites. I always thought that the guess work is personal or with people who have the same interest in gambling. It would really be nice to visit these sites on Google to see how they help in predictions and how accurate their predictions are after a game.

True, OP should have been specific with the kind of game that he's into it's gambling, and if he has tried any sites that perhaps didn't give him accurate predictions. Maybe he just needs a site that predicts different types of games, anyways I'm eager to learn with him.
1687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: December 03, 2023, 09:17:55 AM
It depends on when I can avail them but if I invest, I'd do it before the halving happens. Just as bitcoin does, most of the altcoins are also going to move anyway after Bitcoin's reaction after the halving. If you have a better choice and you're able to buy at the same season then that's much better. You'll also DCA just as what everyone does with Bitcoin, if you are able to do so with altcoins and you should have done it before the halving for actual Bitcoin so you don't miss both ends.

I also think that it's best to do most of our cryoto buying before halving, so we can better position ourselves for the aftermath of it. After halving should be a time to wait for ATH, despite how the market trends, it'll only be a matter of time before bull run happens. Altcoins closely follow bitcoin trends, so for me if now is a good time to accumulate bitcoin, it is also advisable for me to accumulate some top altcoins, that'll be profitable too during bitcoin, bull run.
1688  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you were to convert your Bitcoin (BTC) to Fiat (NGN)…. on: December 03, 2023, 08:27:11 AM
This topic is confusing and there is no connection between the topic title and the main post itself,  from the title you picture a misleading message that makes it look as if you are looking for how to convert your Bitcoin to naira, but while reading the main thread, I also discovered that you are talking about bitcoin accumulations and mode or method of investment in Bitcoin and how late you are in your Bitcoin accumulation journey.

OP na newbie, so na learning process im de, I believe say with time im go de get im perfection small small. So make im just take note for dis one say di subject of im topic get a different meaning from di content, but all di same we get di meaning of wetin im de try talk.

My take for di matter be say now na very good time to de accumulate plenty bitcoin, because after halving next year na serious bull run go follow, and investors go cash in plenty profit. But at di same time if we no get di money to accumulate am, we no go kill ourselves or go steal because we must accumulate bitcoin. Di most important thing be say we don de informed of di financial benefit of holding bitcoin, especially as we de enter ATH. Wetin sweet me pass for bitcoin investment matter be say im no get a price tag wey person suppose take start, na as your power reach na im you go take start to de hold am. Small small you go de accumulate am and before you know you don hold plenty plenty bitcoin, be dat.
1689  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: X.com (Twitter) is approving phishing website ads, beware on: December 03, 2023, 07:14:25 AM
Good information. Thank you.
This is not limited to only X. It is rampant on other social media platforms as well. There is nothing that the owners can do. The best is to advice users to be careful of clicking and visiting untrusted websites. Another way is for others users to report these scam websites just as you have done.

I don't think that there's much that X,com can do about this, it's a public domain, therefore the good, bad and the ugly all have access to their service. Besides this problem is not peculiar to them, any public domain like Facebook, WhatsApp, telegram and the rest of them are also  hubs for this scammers to advertise their evil deeds. The only thing that we can do is to inform our loved ones to be on the lookout for these phishing website ads on social media, to also bring the information to groups that we belong to, so people can be informed and avoid these traps.
1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cristiano Ronaldo get 1 billion dollars lawsuit for his NFT failure on: December 03, 2023, 06:36:16 AM

as consumers and fans, we still owe it to ourselves to research thoroughly first before making financial decisions i don’t know what grounds they are suing him on but it seems ridiculous to me

This should be a lesson to everyone not to buy anything just because their favorite superstar is endorsing it, because most of them are just paid to advertise  products that they know nothing about. This celebrities are business people, if you can afford their fees then they can advertise your underwear for you. I'm sure that when the fans that sued Christiano Ronaldo, goes to Court, they'll surely show them a disclaimer where the superstar is absorbed of any blames if his endorsement doesn't go as expected.

On the other hand it'll still be good if our celebrities will understand the risks involved in whatever they're endorsing, because their fans will buy the products just because their idol has endorsed it. It is possible that Ronaldo, doesn't understand the risks involved in cryoto investments, especially if it's not bitcoin, I hope this is a lesson to him to choose wisely before endorsing any other products.
1691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can Microstrategy buy so many BTC, while other funds waiting for ETF? on: December 02, 2023, 05:45:14 PM
Well, after recent news about MicroStrategy's purchases of BTC, I wonder how come Saylor and his company can buy so many BTC, while other companies/funds are (kind of) waiting for ETFs to be approved?
Saylor has always been an HODLER and advocate of Bitcoin and this is a proof for his trust in bitcoin, I believe him analysing his investment plan made him make such decisions of getting more bitcoin now while some maybe waiting for halving and ETF approval. Remember buying or investing in bitcoin doesn't have a fixed price, it all matters how long the investor is planning on HODLING.

It shows the level of trust that an individual can have for what he believes in, if Saylor, was able to go to the extreme length of collecting loan and using bitcoin, as a collateral to collect the loan to buy bitcoin, then it shows that his faith for the coin is at a peak level. Why wait for ETF when you already know that the time is now to accumulate and hold as many btc as you can, if the ETF goes through, competition will be much, so if a believer has the capital, there's no need to wait for that. Moves like this will pave way for more adoption of bitcoin, because it'll help to convince more people about the profitability of bitcoin.
1692  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IDF are terrorists who bomb children in schools. on: December 02, 2023, 04:49:35 PM
Hamas was never supposed to launch such attack on Israel, to be honest. Did they believe it would end up well for them and the people in the Gaza strip? If they thought so, then they are simply idiots. Specially since they aimed at civilians, they exchanged the future and the life of thousands of innocent people in order to brag for a successful and short attack in Israel territory.
To me, whoever was in charge of this attack had no sense of strategy or military actions in the long term. Unless Hamas expected Israel to get scared and surrender that attacked territory to Hamas? It would be pretty foolish to even consider that was a possibility. They have the support of USA...

This is a very sensitive matter for me because it involves the lives of innocent civilians who are being killed in a war where they are collateral damage. I don't like to take sides in a war, because in the end nobody really wins, as there are damages on either sides and the enmity can linger on for years. Having said that I believe that every country in this world owes it's citizens the  right of protection, so if an external force attacks them in their territories, they have the right to defend and respond in equal terms. So on that I can not blame the IDF for responding to the killings and threats on their citizens, because if they don't greater calamity from the enemy can befall on them. Only it's very unfortunate that in the process of driving their enemies, innocent citizens of Palestine, are victims of their defense mechanism. I hope that the war will come to an end soon, because of the innocent lives that are lost.
1693  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One of the best Coin to invest in now ( you can't afford to miss it) on: December 02, 2023, 04:04:19 PM
I read observation from Charles-Tim, say dis topic suppose move to altcoin discussion, I no understand, I de feel say as we de discuss bitcoin matter for here say we still fit discuss Altcoin matters for here too? Unto say all of dem na cryoto matters, I think say we suppose discuss am, unless say di particular topic get issues, like as person don start similar thread.
This topic perfectly fit the local board. I did not even report it. What I mean is that the OP first created the topic on English board which you can see with the ninjastic link that I posted above. I reported the topic to be moved to altcoin discussion, I mean the first one he posted (on English board) that was later deleted. OP later translated it to Pidgin and posted it in local board. There is nothing wrong about this thread, we can discuss about any altcoin.

Thanks for di clarification, I wondered because I know say you get good intentions for our local board. Na me no take time peruse wetin you talk well, as dem delete di post OP for just let am rest, instead of resurrecting an back to our local board. Anyway I hope say im done learn somethings from dis im thread about how to construction im post, as a newbie wey never get experience, im no suppose to de give sensitive advice like dat.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin looking like sleeping gigant in this bull run season on: December 02, 2023, 03:23:45 PM
I am still down with LTC, I got mine at $80 per piece and still waiting for the pump to happen. I did expect it to make an upward run after Bitcoin did or during the time it was climbing up but not much really happened. It only gained $3 - $4 which was not decent enough to take back the losses that happened mid-August of this year.
But I am not giving up on this yet, I will patiently wait for its return and I think it can possibly be dragged up when the BTC ETF is approved. Litecoin is still used in a lot of places, especially in the gambling industry. So yes, I will probably just wait longer but it will be a fruitful one at the right time.
Well, it's not like there are good choices of coins out there. I think Litecoin is still one of the best.

I like how you're enthusiastic and hopeful about litecoin, so far it doesn't diminish like shitcoins,  then it can be worth the wait. It's good to invest long term in crypro coins that have stood the test of time in the crypro market, because you know that even if they're static or in their bear run, that eventually they'll hit bull run, and hopefully be very profitable to sale. Aside from bitcoin, my preference in altcoins is ethereum, it gives me peace of mind, being second in command to bitcoin, although this does not take anything away from other top altcoins like litecoin.
1695  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: December 02, 2023, 01:25:25 PM
Being a potential bitcoin trader, I think that it'll be best for me to use stop loss, to minimize my loses, because as a beginner I might not be knowledgeable enough to know when the market is going against me. I think when I eventually gets to start trading, I'll rely on stop loss, until when my confidence level starts to grow, after I must have had a lot of practical experiences. I don't like to be a hero when it comes to my financial matters, I'll rather be humble and take all the precautionary measures to possibly avoid having a single lose. Another thing to consider is that  we all have different levels of risk absorber, if you know that you can't withstand high risks, then it's better to look for precautionary measures like stop loss,  like in this case of bitcoin trading.
1696  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One of the best Coin to invest in now ( you can't afford to miss it) on: December 02, 2023, 12:07:43 PM
Many altcoins go look promising to buy now, especially as dem baba, wey be bitcoin, de enter bull run, but di matter be say wetin go happen to most of di altcoins, when bitcoin enter bear run, many of dem no go fit to survive. So di bottom line be say make we de shine our eyes well before we make altcoins decision, because most of dem no get di guarantee wey bitcoin get. Personally if I wan put money for any crypto wey no be bitcoin, na ethereum e go be, because from my observation na im near bitcoin small.

1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 02, 2023, 11:08:15 AM
The saying "one in a million" applies to OP friend's luck, because very many people made that same bet with him, and he came out lucky at the expense of others that lost. Of cause nobody can deny that we don't have millionaires from sport or any other form of bet, but the question is what percentage are they compared to the multitude that made the same bet and lost? Any money making venture where we have over 80% losers is a very risky venture, and should not be relied on to become a millionaire. Gambling is supposed to be for entertainment, but people are relying on it to get rich, they'll probably end up being addicts if they don't eventually become rich gambling.
1698  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the bitcoin network be affected if? on: December 02, 2023, 10:09:46 AM
It's true that years from now the quantity of bitcoin mining a day will drop low from what we are having today making miners to direct complete reliance on bitcoin transaction fees and and if am not mistaking, on bitcoin price too for their reward. Going forward, with bitcoin mining quantity dropping won't miners decline inordinately too affecting the bitcoin network security if one of the two is not constant ?
Miners receive bitcoin from block rewards and transaction fees. When block rewards halve to be small enough, transaction fees will become more important for miners.

No guarantee but with past halvings, price increases a lot too and more than doubling of its price before halving. Miner income even becomes more than x2 than before a halving. With transaction fees, because users have to compete each other to be chosen by miners for confirmation, miners will enjoy periods when mempools are loaded too much like recent months with appearance of Ordinals.

In future, with bigger adoption of Bitcoin, demand for on chain transactions and miners will take advantage of it with transaction fees.

Inasmuch as the adoption of bitcoin is still increasing in the future, and as many people are using it, miners will still retain there jobs and their rewards will still be guaranteed. If it gets to the point where many people starts using bitcoin p2p for transactions, then the congestion will necessitate miners to high their fees because many people will be competing for their transactions to be confirmed. Unless the adoption of bitcoin reduces or stopped,  then we'll have a real reason to worry. Bitcoin is popular today because of it's business profitability, more people use it mainly for investment and trading purposes, instead of a means of payment. This can pose a challenge in the future, because it is using bitcoin, as a means of payment that than skyrocket it's adoption. So left in the hands of mainly traders and investors, without being a means of payment will affect the miners negatively in the future, for obvious reasons.
1699  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that visionary leaders make great CEOs? on: December 02, 2023, 09:03:16 AM
I think that at the end of the day it's the quality of output that comes out from the teamwork that really counts, there might be flaws to reach perfection, but it's the end that justifies the means. So the leadership approach of an organization might not be very cordial, but if their renumeration and output are very competitively high compared to their competitors in the same industry, then some personal temperament of management or CEO can be overlooked. But abuse of power should not be condoned.

Employees should be value driven, because management can be strict in order to get the best output, a work friendly atmosphere is important, but it's not the ultimate goal, job security and well paid is the most important. A rumpled $100, is better and more valuable than a newly minted $1 note.
1700  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trying to withdraw ENJ from 1 exchange to 2 - issues on: December 02, 2023, 08:08:05 AM
If the coin is not supported by the exchange, or not supporting the network, convert to the coin that both exchanges are supporting or having the same network, make sure that the coin is of low fee. Send the coin to the other exchange and exchange the coin you converted to back to the coin you converted it from.

Example is to convert ENJ to LTC > send it to the other exchange > convert LTC back to ENJ on the other exchange. Done.

I think that your method is more reasonable in situations like the one OP finds himself, it's a good alternative for him. If his coin is not supported by his exchange or network, the let him look for an exchange that supports the two, then convert back to his coin. He just needs to consider the fees that is involved in all process.
