I'm frankly surprised no one has pursued legal action against BFL at this point.

Investors with 3rd degree Stockholm syndrome and a community with a long history of defending it's scammers are in BFL's favor. Toss in the occasional sock-puppet poster and a PR shock jock figurehead that verbally assaults any outspoken outliers. Voila, successful vaporware business. Box of fans table for none ready in just 4-6 weeks.

Buy BTC. Exchange for LTC @ btc-e or vircurex.

Nothing but respect for what the ASICMiner guys have accomplished, but I agree the share price has gotten a little soggy around the mid section. Smiley
1686  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Please dont let bitcoinstore fail, your action is needed just about now. on: March 14, 2013, 05:48:32 PM
Bitcoinstore user review:

After extensive research I was recently pricing a specific model AIO laser printer and thought to check the prices here compared to the usual online fiat vendors(newegg, amazon, microcenter, etc...) and as it turned out bitcoinstore was a bit cheaper than the cheapest fiat vendor(newegg) so I decided to go ahead with the order.

I immediately had trouble paying for the item in my cart because I did not yet have an account and whenever I tried to enter all the data to create one, I was getting sent back to the cart page and all my progress was wiped out. I did this twice and then sent an email to support, went back and created an account first, logged in and then made my purchase. By the time I had created an account, bitcoinstore support had already contacted me with inquiries about the nature of my complaint. They were very pleasant and responsive to deal with and said they'd look into the specific problem, which may or may not be specific to chrome.

So minor hassle resolved, this 40lbs package with free shipping was ordered at 7:30PM EST March 12(Tuesday). The vendor acknowledged receipt of my order at 7:33PM via email. On Wed(3/13) I received a fedex tracking number. I was surprised such a heavy package was already processed and shipped within 24hrs, very impressive. Just about 20mins ago Fedex delivered the package exactly as ordered. Some 40hrs after I placed my order I HAVE IT, and this with a 40lbs bulky box and free shipping!

This is better than newegg order processing efficiency and if these guys can scale their business and maintain this level of service I will be a regular customer.

Very well done BitcoinStore, very well done indeed. Smiley
1687  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LEGAL COURSE of ACTION Discussion --- bASIC / BitcoinASIC on: March 14, 2013, 03:44:25 PM
I really do not want to sound ungrateful for what Tom has tried to do but I cannot say I am whole just yet.

For some reason while the exchange rates were around $47.85ish while he was paying everyone back my transaction received has an apparent exchange rate of $49.31.

This means that for a USD cost of $2169.98 for 2 units he paid back only 44BTC instead of approximately 45.34BTC.
I do not know if this was because of clerical error or what but I believe I am still owed at least 1.25BTC.

I cannot wait until payments start again in a week as that minuscule amount could be wiped out in exchange gains for his benefit.

I put it to everyone here, should I still hound Tom for the remainder or just lick my wounds and be done with it?

I'd probably complain once or twice and then let that one go as it's not enough to lose sleep over.

The exchange rate I got was $47.78 btw.

Was that record volume on BTCT.CO the past 24hrs? You need a ticker to keep track. Smiley

He was refunding at an exchange rate of $47.78 today. Not great, but better than the nothing I feared we'd end up with.
1691  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: March 14, 2013, 06:05:14 AM
Nope, there are still some remaining to be refunded, I was just a squeaky wheel.
1692  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: LEGAL COURSE of ACTION Discussion --- bASIC / BitcoinASIC on: March 14, 2013, 05:12:32 AM

That is my $4,309.96 refund at an exchange rate of $47.8884 $/BTC.

My order ID was: 794

Thank you Tom.  This shows that you were an honest businessman all along.   The crazy man act had me fooled.

thank you for reporting this

I have refunded  nearly 100k worth of Bitcoin refunds but people dont like to report when you do something right. They usually only like to report your screw ups.

thanks again and sorry that it took so long.

How'z that refund for order #1345 coming along Tom? I have a lot of investors that would like to close the book on this whole sad affair.

Nice... yeah, Josh does seem kind of a dick...

To put it mildly.

On another note, anyone know where to buy some descent FPGA boards at a good price? I'm desperate to get any kind of mining rig up and running

If you're so desperate to get anything up and running, then why not a GPU rig that can be converted to mining altcoins if/when you choose to purchase an ASIC mining gizmo down the road?
1698  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware BFL Scams (I really didn't think this was needed until...) on: March 13, 2013, 05:14:44 AM
lol sorry I misread your posts....how many miles are on the elcamino?

220...221 whatever it takes...
1699  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL or Avalon on: March 13, 2013, 02:56:36 AM
BFL is already five months late and there's still no guarantee that they'll ship anything soon or that they'll meet their stated(estimated) specs if and when they do eventually ship. When they do begin shipping their backlog will ensure that an order placed now will not be delivered for many months. Meanwhile Avalon has made it abundantly clear that they're capable of designing and delivering a working product on schedule despite beginning long after BFL had already announced their products.

BFL is also in clear violation of FTC prompt delivery regulations, so the risk that they will be shut down at some point must be weighed with any decision.

Tom actually answered my email today, so that worked.

What email did you use? He hasn't responded to me, either via email, PM, or unannounced BTC refund.
