1681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brain wallet password based on fingerprint? on: August 23, 2016, 03:13:08 PM
I don't think this is a good idea to be honest. All those iris, fingertip, voice... all those biometric type of security solutions aren't real solutions to me.

Like let's say you get a fingerprint based password for your brain wallet seed pass phrase. And you someday have an accident, like you burn your hand while cooking or some shit. This would result in a fingertip that is no longer what is stored to decipher the password. And now you are stuck with a wallet that cannot be recovered and 6 months of rehabilitation to heal your finger.
1682  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Rich from Gambling? on: August 22, 2016, 05:36:22 PM
You can get rich from gambling. However only high risk games, like the lottery and the casino, can help you achieve that.

This means that you must keep away from "easy to win" games - if you win them easily, it means it will be very difficult to win big prizes Smiley
It's not that easy to win in lottery lol you have to be extremely lucky, if you're not lucky you'll be burning your money for years by buying tickets. i've known folks who've been buying tickets for over an year and still haven't won anything.
But if you only play easy-to-win games which only yield, what, 10%... you'll never be rich from gambling.

And that's the title of this thread, right? Being rich from gambling.

You need to risk with difficult-to-win in order to be able to have any kind of possibilities at getting rich with just gambling.
If i'd want to become rich off gambling i would take my chances with "easy-to-win" games than lottery, if i'll play lottery i'll be broke very soon(chances of winning a huge lottery is extremely rare). if i gamble on games which have some skill requirement(like poker, sports betting) i might be able to win lot on the long-run.

Almost all gambling has the same odds. You may have higher odds to win in other games, but you need to risk more money to get the same gains you would need by buying a lottery ticket.

So it's always a balance of risk/reward, you need the x factor and that x factor is called luck.
1683  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: August 22, 2016, 05:29:52 PM
There is not smart method to gamble. Only smart method to gamble is not to gamble. If you are addicted to gambling  then do so with a responsible mind. Gamble only that money which you are willing to lose. Don't gamble your property and make sure to cut down on it slowly.
if someone think that gamble on limited amount to lost are their best smart way to gamble then it is fine they are free to call it as a smart way , people just need to aware that gambling are not a good habit.

so is it smart to do something not good in most people opinion? just think by yourself Wink
It is never a smart way because we are losing our money in gambling but as human we need to enjoy sometimes and what would you do with your money if you cannot enjoy it, if you have a lot of money and you like gambling then I think that is just fair to have fun sometimes.

That is right, in fact the only smart way to gamble is not to gamble, but like you said before, we are human and some of us are too eager for some adrenaline and gambling is a great way to get that fix. Of course, within gambling itself, if you stay cautious and know when to stop, that could be said to be a way to stay smart when gambling.
1684  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 22, 2016, 05:27:31 PM
Both Messi and Ronaldo look good for the next champions league. Also Neymar is looking good on the Olympics, even tho the Olympics is a lower level competition I think he is very motivated and Barca has serious chances to win this year. I think finals will be Barca and Real, they are clearly the best teams in the planet right now.
1685  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: August 22, 2016, 05:18:44 PM
In my opinion this fight was the definition of a tie!

I think both deserved the win and a third match, but I guess Dana White wanted a 1-1 and not a 1-tie to go for the last fight to end this trilogy.

Anyway I think McGregor will win next time since they will fight at McGregors preferred weight.
1686  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is something actually being developed to solve the centralized exchange problem? on: August 22, 2016, 05:04:01 PM
I feel like Bitcoin is never going to properly go to the next level until we fix the problem of centralized exchanges. I feel everytime a great improvement is made that makes the price go up, it gets ruined thanks to some idiot in charge of a big volume exchange getting "hacked".

We were on a good uptrend thanks to good job made by Core devs with up and coming segwit and so on, plus the halving also had a really solid uptrend. This got destroyed thanks to the Bitfinex disaster. Im sure we would be at 700+ as a new floor right now if the Bitfinex disaster didn't happen.

We must then put lot of effort into coming up with a solution to avoid this from happening again. The question is if this is even possible. How to create a decentralized equivalent of Poloniex (note, not a marketplace like bitsquare.io but a proper exchange with a broker where you can make fast trading operations, have liquidity available and hold long positions without fear of getting Goxed)

Can lightning and sidechain allow for this? Maybe through payment channels or something so no one has to hold all the funds in a single point of failure? I don't know, I can't code I just feel like whoever comes up with a solution will be an hero.
1687  Other / Off-topic / Re: What to do with my signature campaign earnings ? on: August 22, 2016, 04:46:39 PM
The advice to keep most of them is honestly the most sound so far. We don't know for how long signature campaings will exist, hopefully forever, but we don't know, we certainly don't know if there will be higher paying ones. Right now all of them don't pay enough except the one im at right now which pays good.

In any case, in the future maybe signatures that pay lower like Bitmixer with 0.0007 per post rate, are seen as a really lucky opportunity to be able to made that by posting.

Once Bitcoin reaches 5000 dollars per coin, the people in signature campaigns now will be considered lucky.
1688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mitsubishi & Hitachi Trial Blockchain-Based Checking on: August 22, 2016, 04:37:39 PM
Im still yet to understand what the point of integrating blockchain technology into the banking industry really solves at all. The point of the blockchain is to decentralized the accounting of the ledger (the blockchain is ultimately a ledger, so somebody tell me how in hell this is of any use at all without the decentralized consensus + token to incentivize powering said decentralization).
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: August 21, 2016, 03:03:25 PM
The best way to deal with this is by become an agnostic so you admit that you don't really know if religions are real or some stupid fairy tale that people in middle ages believed due ignorance (most likely the second option is the case)
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RIO OLYMPIC BASKETBALL (SEMI-FINALS) on: August 21, 2016, 02:58:31 PM
USA won the spain women medal as well, they are the best in basketball. Spain is the 2nd best in the world in basketball, they won the silver medal.

Spain men also deserved silver but had bad luck to face USA. I think it's a safe bet to go for a Spain win for bronze medal.
1691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal to support 3 coins on: August 21, 2016, 02:51:40 PM
I have been hearing this for a while but nothing has happened yet. I think they are just experimenting, it does not mean that they will actually accept Litecoin and Doge, but I hope they do, but being realistic, chances are they will only accept BTC, at least in the beginning.
1692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dash just had a hard fork. Market sell off in 3...2...1... on: August 21, 2016, 02:47:25 PM
Damn, why did they hard fork specifically? If it was for a good reason, like a technical upgrade, then is justified. Hard fork is in theory ok as long as is not for a stupid reason (like ETH did). But of course, its dangerous, and you have to pull it off perfectly, or bad things can happen.
1693  Other / Off-topic / Re: du you spend coins on real life. on: August 21, 2016, 02:37:11 PM
Everytime i spend my bitcoins on real life, i must exchange my bitcoin into fiat first. Because there is no shop that accept bitcoin in my country, only some online shops that accept it.

Yes that is the issue everywhere that you don't find direct place to spend your bitcoin and you have to convert it to fiat first and then spend.

This is why we cannot expect common usage of bitcoin to buy goods and services until people gets paid in bitcoin as a common phenomena, otherwise its inconvenient having to change to another currency to buy the same as you can buy with the currency you are at by default, since there are no incentives to do so except in special occasions.

Until then bitcoin will remain a better gold.
1694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: "A Solution Looking for a Problem" on: August 21, 2016, 02:31:08 PM
Revolutionary technology is often caught in the ironic position of solving a problem that is not really percieved by the masses. This is the case with Bitcoin.

Similarly, back in the day no one understood why the internet was huge, of course, except the smart people which where the small group of technical people/geeks/hackers that saw the potential since day one.

Sooner or later, Bitcoin will shine, be glad that you even know it exists today.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: August 20, 2016, 04:12:12 PM
Sometimes experts can't help you and you have to help yourself, there is no other way to do it but to do it yourself, otherwise you never make a real change. You cant depend from external input, it has to come from within to make a real permanent change.
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RIO OLYMPIC BASKETBALL (SEMI-FINALS) on: August 20, 2016, 03:59:40 PM
WORLD: Olympic Games Women - Play Offs :

France W   vs   Serbia W   => France Win.

USA W   vs   Spain W    => USA win.

My prediction is usa gols spain silver serbia brose

USA will probably win, I agree with a silver for spain but im not sure about serbia vs france, both teams are good and have decent chances for third place. Also spain has also realistic chances to actually win, but USA has the higher odds.
1697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When gambling makes you cry. on: August 20, 2016, 03:46:12 PM
gambling never made me cry, because i have a special strategy of gambling, i have a limit for gambling, when i reach to that limit i stop gambling any more for that day, therefore i can say that gambling never made me cry.

By setting limit on your each bet you can control your money overflow though but that is not something special though because there is no special strategy in gambling. All you need yo have is some luck which can lead you to win some of your coin rather than lose it
Setting your limit is what makes you successful in gambling as most of us cries because of lack of self control in gambling, when the amount not intended in gambling will be use in gambling that is the time when we will surely cry when we lose it.

Yeah i really agree on that, setting some limit is really a good thing but the problem is if you keep on losing until your limit what are you suppose to do? There is still a chance you will lose everything just in first try although you martingale it you wont even know how much red streak you will suffer

Limits are key, you must know when to stop or you will suffer the consequences of addiction.

It's the same for gamblin, you must set stop losses in case your stock goes to shit, so set a reasonable stop loss to where you guess to be the floor just a bit lower, this is the basic strategy.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 202: Diaz vs McGregor 2 Info and Prediction Thread on: August 20, 2016, 03:34:37 PM
If you don't want to stay up late, just get up in the morning and torrent the full PPV.  Do this without looking on any news sites, logging into Skype, Facebook etc... then watch it like its live.

This is good advice, but remember to not look at the comments of the torrent. If you use piratebay for example, do not look at the comments or you will most likely find someone talking about the guy that lost or won.

Are there any recommended trackers?  I only know piratebay and im not sure if they will have it ready next day.
1699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a sin to gamble? on: August 20, 2016, 03:21:15 PM
Its a sin only if you consider it a sin. Things by itself are not a sing, this is religious delusion. You must choose if you want to gamble or not. Personally I have never had a problem with gambling and there are worse things to do.
1700  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How do Online Wallets Survive ?? on: August 20, 2016, 03:10:00 PM
I don't know why you say Coinbase doesn't charge fees when they just raised their fees recently, correct me if im wrong.

Every online wallet ever charges a fee, and they make money from the traffic which may click on advertisements or may buy premium services, it's the standard online business model really.
