16821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small investors now is your time! on: September 15, 2017, 03:36:32 AM
Thoughts and criticisms welcome.

i mostly agree with what you said and i have also plans to buy more bitcoin in this dip.
but also it is worth mentioning that the drama and FUD has not yet finished. it is better if you wait it out. it of course has slowed down a lot and the fake news is now being debunked but it still take a little more time before things come back to normal again.

but also when it comes back to normal there will NOT be enough time to buy as price shoots up at that time.
16822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why banksters are now in war with bitcoin? on: September 14, 2017, 04:34:37 AM
i disagree with the Poll. i believe banks will never be obsolete. they are old systems that have been offering services (good and very useful services) to people for money. and their services for money will always be needed one way or another. we can not deny that.

but the thing is that these banks need to change and update themselves to the new world and new technologies of this new age. so far they are threatened that their business and their earning is going to diminish because of bitcoin and blockchain technology. but soon they will realize it is inevitable and they need to adopt instead of fighting it because that is a battle they are not going to win.
16823  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: September 14, 2017, 04:24:21 AM
~
True. But holding is the logical choice because like everyone else's here, we are still positive that bitcoin can recover from all of this shenanigans created by those who want's to manipulate the price. We may regret not selling when the price is $4700 but who knows, after everything is straighten out we might see the light at the end of the tunnel. So I will hold and buy from this dip, simple as that.

"here" is the speculation board and most people are here to trade bitcoin for the most part. so obviously holding is still an option but trading is the dominant goal here.

when selling you need to have plans and a damn good reason for it too. if you are selling based on panic or a fear that price might go lower then you are better off holding. otherwise when the FUD starts it is a very good time to sell something and wait for the bottom to buy back.
for instance if you have 10BTC and you are trading with 2 of them. you sell it at $4300 and wait for the bottom. lets say it is $3700 and buy back 2.32BTC and that is 0.32BTC pure profit.
16824  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How can I buy Bitcoins in the UK? on: September 14, 2017, 04:16:40 AM
why don't you try buying bitcoin from an exchange service instead?
i hear kraken is a good place and it is not so hard on the verification process either. and the good part of buying from an exchange is the fact that you will be buying at the market price but other places usually have higher prices when they are selling to you on top of the fees.

check out the rest here: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets
you can ask others about feedback on each of them if you want too.
16825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable, trading in Crypto coins or trading in stock market?? on: September 14, 2017, 04:09:05 AM
it is hard to say really.
because ever since i have started trading bitcoin and altcoins i have thought doing that is the most profitable kind of trading but recently i have seen people who are trading in stocks market and they have been earning a very large amount of money each week.
so i guess both can potentially be very profitable but in the end it will depend on the person who is doing it. some people just aren't made for trading!
16826  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 'is a fraud' that will 'blow up,' FUD OR FACT on: September 14, 2017, 04:00:22 AM
I read an article about John McAfee challenging Dimon's claim about BTC being a fraud.
in other words two idiots publicly fighting Grin

There will be periods when bitcoin's price will rise and fall but people shouldn't label it as fraud just because it behaves in a volatile manner.
aaaah. the question is why did JPMorgan call bitcoin fraud NOW! why not call it fraud last year, or 6 months ago or even 1 month ago when market was still hugely bullish?
it is funny when you look at it from this perspective, isn't it?
16827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Little panics like this are good on: September 14, 2017, 03:53:38 AM
these panics are of course good and all and every one of us have always enjoyed the swings and the profits that come with them. but i can not say they are "all good". because there is also a big downside to these swings and dips, specially if they are big. and that downside is the fact that it makes bitcoin look bad and too volatile. people never like a highly volatile currency; not for investment, not as a currency. never.
16828  Economy / Speculation / Re: another day, another dip, another buy the dip on: September 13, 2017, 05:06:34 AM
The dips have not been so low to encourage me to buy yet... Have a buy order but it is lower than the actual price. Should go to the 4000$ or so to trigger it.
It may happen but I think you are too early I think that may happen in October when we have clearer news if there is going to be a fork or not, if the news still say that a fork may happen then people are going to get nervous and you are going to see the price going down.

$4000 has already happened a couple of times and today price went even lower and as i am writing this the price has recovered back to above $4000, you see you don't have to wait. the news will come out and price will fluctuate every day.
if you want to buy then buy in the dips instead of waiting for some possible news that may or may not come in the future. and for all we know the price can be affected long before the actual news comes and when it is here the price will be in the recovery.
16829  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex still the best? on: September 13, 2017, 04:45:54 AM
~ just after 3 days of listing it the price rose to $500 and then continued and became stable at $600+ few days back nothing else happened during this duration.
Let me know your thoughts am i right or just exaggerating.

maybe i am confusing some dates but as far as i can tell the rise was the pump that happened because of the bitcoin cash difficulty games where they reduced it suddenly and it became very profitable to mine it at an extremely low difficulty. and in those days thousands of blocks were mined in a couple of days instead of a couple of hundred.
so it would just be a coincidence which they took good advantage of.
16830  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Fresh install shows a seedless wallet, *not* mine, with bitcoins in it! Buh? on: September 13, 2017, 04:40:47 AM
are you sure you really installed "Electrum" and not a scammy version of it downloaded from somewhere else like a malicious website?
and did you verify the signature of the installation file that you downloaded?

so far this behavior was either because people downloaded a malicious version from some other website or it is because there has been an installation of Electrum on that computer beforehand which left behind that wallet file which now new installation is using.
16831  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the best arbitrage bot? on: September 13, 2017, 04:34:42 AM
the problem with arbitrage is that the spreads are rarely big enough to cover the fees because for big coins like bitcoin with a huge market, the price is always at a balance between exchanges because people buy and sell it the same everywhere unless that exchange has some issues.
on top of it, you will find that there are a lot of competitions in this method. others are also doing it which makes it riskier and harder to make decent profit to justify the effort.
16832  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will push Bitcoin to $10,000 on: September 13, 2017, 04:11:29 AM
i can not decide if this is FUD or just an overly pessimistic view!

If someone here says China, then man I am sorry to tell you, that you are one of the Pigs, Bulls Make Money, Bears Make Money, Pigs Get Slaughtered.
China has always been a big player and it will remain that. don't read the English bullshit-news too much, they have nothing against bitcoin.
and no China alone won't be reason for rise nor fall.

Quote
1- USA opening new doors for BTC..Will not happen.
2- Europe..Just keep moving!
neither US nor any European countries ever closed any doors on bitcoin to want to open it now. there is a lot of adoption, specially in US, but if any decent regulations like Japan take place it can be a big step forwards. and it WILL happen in time.

Quote
3- Japan..Maybe will push it above $5000.
Japan was the reason for the big rise of this year and it will continue increase the adoption, specially now that they have also removed taxes from bitcoin payments.

Quote
4- Russia? No.
LOL, why not?

Quote
5- Gulf states? Maybe will push it above $5500
they are also coming in these days. there have been increased interest among them towards bitcoin, not just because of the price but also because bitcoin is a global money which they can use oversees easily and the cheapest way possible.

Quote
6- Financial melt down another 2008, or 1920...Here is your $10,000, which will happen, and thank you Trump!
people have been waiting for "financial melt downs" for as long as i can remember and they used to say bitcoin will rise because of it ever since it was $200 and started with bitcoin.

and not only "financial melt downs" never happened but bitcoin price went nearly to $5000 without it! and will continue to do so.

Do you now understand why Chinese gov keeps spreading rumors? and lower the price to buy more?
i did not know Coindesk, cryptocoinnews, news.bitcoin.com,... and others like bloomberg, CNN,.... belong to China. good to know.
because the real news in Chinese has no mention of the rumors on any of above links!
16833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: China ban on: September 13, 2017, 04:00:23 AM
The news has become more and more clear that China will not tolerate exchanges.
China like any other country will not tolerate illegal activities. it has nothing to do with bitcoin, it just happens that a service called "exchange" is doing illegal stuff which the Chinese government is trying to stop.

This is alarming to the bitcoin community because we have long awaited for official government push back. Really it was just a matter of time.
give me 1 example of the government ever pushing back bitcoin! i dare you!

It would have been better to have a smaller country that is less involved than China push back initially.
so you just created this account to spread FUD? are you shorting bitcoin?
16834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Urgent need for a Bitcoin "assocation" on: September 13, 2017, 03:48:48 AM
I strongly believe that in order to come off professional Bitcoin's founders and a team of financial professionals should form an "assocation" so they can directly publish statements
against any bad news or any banker labeling Bitcoin as "fraudulent".
no we do not need that.
you are trying to centralize bitcoin and you don't even know it yourself.
a decentralized thing does not need a "face" and even if it had, it wouldn't have mattered! people say what they want, attack bitcoin the same way they like. and those who understand it ignore the shit they say. let them waste their breath.

Quote
Right now, I feel like there's not one single person who can be blamed if something goes wrong and this is the exact reason why lots of people feel uncomfortable buying the Bitcoins.
Good!
because we don't want people who don't understand bitcoin to "invest in it". these types of people are only listening to what random idiots on the internet say and act on it. and those random "idiots" will use this to make money out of them.

you think it is random that negative news only comes out when there is a dip?

I think that this is the BIG problem of Bitcoin. Sorry to say so but I do not trust it at this point. Too many criminal activity is linked with the association.
sorry to be blunt but here is the Door
16835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan CEO Jamie -says "BTC is worse than Tulip Bubble" calls it a fraud on: September 13, 2017, 03:43:02 AM
i am always fascinated by the timing that the media chooses!

when price is rising they publish articles saying how bitcoin is awesome and how it is headed for the moon. they publish about people who said bitcoin will be $10K, $100K, .... almost every day.

when the correction after the long rally starts, they make a 180 degree change and start publishing the exact opposite of the previous articles! they start publishing about people who are calling bitcoin "bubble", "dead", and my all time favorite "rat poison".

it is as if they have heavily invested in it. hmmm.
16836  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: For Crypto trading which exchange is best in terms of volume, commission/fees?? on: September 12, 2017, 05:10:51 AM
there is always a couple of good exchanges on top and they are similar then there are second tier exchanges. each of them have benefits of using and some downsides.
for example the top ones are asking for verification. poloniex and bittrex
poloniex has less trading fee than bittrex but their volumes are nearly the same.
there are coins that are listed on bittrex but not listed on poloniex like NEO and PIVX and FTC

you can see all exchanges here https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/volume/24-hour/
16837  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trade on: September 12, 2017, 04:58:23 AM
Where can i access trading tips for bitcoin buy, sell and hold accurately and timely?

this is something that you have to learn on your own. these "tips" are two types.
the first are those bullshits which are being spread in disguise of a "tip" but in fact they are false information. some say it is going up some say it is going down and there is no accuracy to either.
the second one, lets call the good tips, are what the professionals give but they will only be of use to you if you are familiar with trading yourself. otherwise nobody is going to tell you "buy now" "sell now" so you can just do that and become rich. you can check out tradingview to see some of these.
16838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last chance for cheap Bitcoin? on: September 12, 2017, 04:49:23 AM
some of us don't have unlimited money, we have a paycheck that we use every month or week or whatever to buy bitcoin with a portion of it. when price rises you will be forced to buy at a higher price each month, week,... so when a dip like the previous days happens it is like the discount that you could never get in any other case. so yeah it was the last chance for now to buy cheaper coins before the bigger rise.
16839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: which information do I need to save to access bitcoins from different wallets? on: September 12, 2017, 04:43:19 AM
if you have the private keys you can import them in almost all other bitcoin wallets and have access to your funds. (private keys are strings starting with 5 or K or L). this is like the universal thing that you can use anywhere.

that "long sentence" that you are talking about which is a set of words is probably your Seed. since mSignia uses BIP32 and it is open source, you can always use another tool or wallet to recover all your private keys that you have ever used.
16840  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN DUMP - CHINESE ARE OFFLOADING... on: September 12, 2017, 04:26:31 AM
I've picked up some extra BTC over the last couple of days, in my hometown there was a local seller on LBC - a chinese man. He said he had to dump all his coins within the next couple of days and offered me 45 BTC for $150k. I don't have 150k laying around, but i picked up 3 for 10k

he said his friends had hundreds of BTC if i was interested.

Is a monster dump on the way?

thank god for that!

i wish all of them dump faster. specially the way you are describing here. off the market or as you may know it OTC which is the only way Chinese are allowing to trade apparently.

this is awesome if true because it not only won't have any effect on the real bitcoin market but also it kicks them out of the market while others get the coins out of their hands cheap and enjoy a better distribution of bitcoin. Wink
