16841  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you think ISIS uses Bitcoin? on: December 06, 2017, 01:50:53 AM
Why does it have to be insignificant? How often are ISIS and related groups found to be trading in weapons? Smugglers would easily be able to dispose of Bitcoin if they wanted to use a more traditional route. Bitcoin could be held by them to fund future expeditions if they believe that Bitcoin can keep on rising.

It is insignificant, because that is what the ground reports indicate. The ISIS seems to be having much better payment options to purchase their weapons. Most of their weapons come from the Turkish and Arab cartels, and these people mostly accept United States Dollar, or bullion (gold). Sometimes weapons are purchased in exchange for crude oil.
16842  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: December 06, 2017, 01:48:34 AM
I believe that everyone should make their own contribution to the environment. Separate collection of garbage, for example. Do not buy unnecessary things. And other simple steps.

Separating garbage collection is good. But if you really want to save the planet, then you need to take concrete steps. First, you can boycott furniture chains which sell sofas and tables made from Amazonian mahogany. This will help to reduce the level of deforestation in the Amazon basin. Next, replace palm oil with vegetable oil. This will reduce deforestation in Indonesia and Malaysia.
16843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: will you still buy at 10k on: December 05, 2017, 03:42:37 AM
The last time I purchased Bitcoin was in 2014. After that I have received Bitcoins mostly through signature campaigns, altcoin bounties, advertising revenue and airdrops. Since then I have sold some of my coins, but never purchased any. I guess that is going to be the case this time as well.
16844  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can I earn bitcoin using facebook, youtube, or in any social media? on: December 05, 2017, 03:40:44 AM
Yes, of course. You can earn bitcoin by Twitter, facebook, youtube, blog. You can find campaign for this. In this forum Bounty(altcoins), you find the campaign. There is signature campaign also.

The point to note here is that most of these campaigns require highly active accounts. For example, if you are participating in a Twitter campaign, then you should have at least 500 followers (some campaigns have a lower threshold). Similarly, for YouTube campaigns they require at least 200 subscribers to your channel.
16845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: December 05, 2017, 03:38:19 AM
For me, high fee is the biggest problem and nothing else matters. Nowadays it has become almost impossible to withdraw coins from exchanges. A few days back, Cryptopia was asking for a withdrawal fee of BTC0.002 (equivalent to $23), to withdraw $100 worth of coins.
16846  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is your opinion on Buddhism???? on: December 05, 2017, 03:02:16 AM
Buddhism is peaceful, but at the same time, a bit too extreme sometimes. Also depends in the specific branch of Buddhism. But over all, I love Buddhism monasteries. So calming and peaceful

It is similar to various sects of Christianity. Among the Christians we have pacifist sects such as Mennonites and the Amish, and we can have extremist groups such as 7th day Adventists and Jehovah's witnesses. With Buddhists also, it is the same.
16847  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you have a gun? on: December 05, 2017, 02:58:32 AM
I don't have gun and I believe no body should have. It is government's responsibility to protect its citizens.

If you don't want to own a gun, then it is OK. But please don't force others to give up their guns. No one want to take any risk for their family.
16848  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Muslims refugees in Europe on: December 05, 2017, 02:24:11 AM
Has the European committed a blunder by granting asylum to muslims refugees from war torn nations in the middle east ?

First of all, it was not the "Europeans". It was a single lunatic lady (Angela Merkel) who decided to import all these immigrants to the EU (despite opposition from the Eastern European heads of states). The consequences are there for everyone to see. The immigrants celebrated their arrival by raping and molesting European women during the new year party in Cologne.
16849  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Drug free in the Philippines on: December 05, 2017, 02:16:03 AM
What they do in the Philippines is actually so messed up in my opinion - they need to send drug addicts to hospitals not the firing squad

That's what they are trying to do. And they have already offered to the drug dealers that they will not be harmed if they surrender. But when these criminals refuse to surrender and fire at the cops, what they can do? I am not denying that some of the innocent bystanders were caught up in the melee. But the situation is nothing like a genocide, which the western media wants you to believe.
16850  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Space X and the prospects of Mars colonization. on: December 05, 2017, 02:07:34 AM
I don't see human colonies on Mars anytime soon. Perhaps not even later.

The question after a few decades is not whether it is going to be possible or not. The question is going to be whether it is worth the time and effort to build human colonies in Mars. It is easily going to cost many trillions of USD. The martian atmosphere is full of carbon-di-oxide and extracting Oxygen out of it is going to be terribly expensive. Also, the water resources are limited.
16851  Other / Politics & Society / Re: indonesia on: December 05, 2017, 02:02:07 AM
I have never been to Indonesia, but my friends have been to Bali. They have told me that it is a very beautiful place with lots of friendly people. The only thing which bothers me about Indonesia is the rise of radical Islam. During the past 2 decades, there have been many incidents there, such as the 1998 anti-Chinese riots and the 2002 Bali bombings.
16852  Other / Off-topic / Re: punishment for rapists on: December 05, 2017, 01:57:27 AM
Marry the victim? In case there is a chance that she will recover from a psychological trauma?

This is a very common tactic used in certain Muslim nations and in India. The rapists will promise to marry the victim, in order to escape from the punishment. But I can guarantee you that in 90% of the cases, it ends up in tragedy. Sometimes the victim is abandoned after a few months. In worst cases, the victim is pushed in to the flesh trade by her new husband.
16853  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Save the planet or not on: December 05, 2017, 01:53:22 AM
I think it is a good idea to save the planet. Unless we find another planet we can stay on.

Well, I can guarantee you that we will not find another planet, at least for the next 100 years. You need a unique combination of the right gravity, Oxygen-rich atmosphere, mild temperatures, low radiation, and the presence of water. Such a combination doesn't exist anywhere else in the solar system. There may be some exoplanets in the outer space, but they are many thousands of light years away.
16854  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your Views on Rohingya Muslim refugees! on: December 05, 2017, 01:50:32 AM
This is my view on Rohingyas:

1. They are illegal immigrants originally from Bangladesh.
2. They should be deported to Bangladesh.
3. Rohingyas have committed ethnic cleansing in Rakhine and have killed more than 100 Hindus and Buddhists. The Bangladesh government must pay repatriation for their crimes.

The Rohingya are being slaughtered more often than deported. The reports are atrocious.

I don't care whether they are getting slaughtered. They poked the Buddhists and they got hit in return. And they were quick in playing the victim card. What is your opinion about the Muslim ARSA militants who slaughtered innocent Hindus in Rakhine? What is your opinion about these animals who raped and murdered Mru tribal women in Rakhine?
16855  Other / Politics & Society / Re: End of the World on: December 05, 2017, 01:44:05 AM
Many people say end of world is near but i dont agree with that idea, the world is almost 6 billion years old and many people said till now " the end will come ... time"but we are here and the world  is still alive i think our generation will not see it .

The planet may be 6 billion years old. But do you know when did the human race came in to existence? We evolved out of the apes only a few tens of thousands of years back. So there is always a scenario that the human race can become extinct, with the planet still existing. Humans are not very comfortable in living in low-oxygen environments.
16856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Superpower after America on: December 05, 2017, 01:41:36 AM
It has to be Russia. China is spending huge amounts of money on its military, but their technology lags miles behind that of the United States and Russia. And worse still, many western nations have accused the Chinese of plagiarizing their defense equipment. The only advantage China is having right now is the unlimited supply of manpower.
16857  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The world without leaders? on: December 05, 2017, 01:35:23 AM
I believe the world would be better off without these leaders. These leaders create problems for their own personal interest.

Agreed 100%. Look at what Donald Trump is doing right now. He is needlessly provoking the North Koreans, so that his approval ratings could recover back home. He is risking another world war, just to boost his reputation with the voters. Kim Jong Un is also no better. He is risking the lives of 25 million North Koreans, just to satisfy his ego.
16858  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you see alts have chances against Bitcoins? on: December 04, 2017, 05:07:28 AM
High fees is one of the biggest downside of bitcoin for a long time. Even I have a hard time to decide whether to make a transaction or not. However, bitcoin has maintained its value for many years. Just like what you've said, it has stability in its growth which entices more people to invest to it. As long as the value of bitcoin is as high as it is now, or even grow for the coming years, I don't see altcoins replacing bitcoin on top of the list of best cryptocurrencies.

I still don't know why the Core is so hell bent against increasing the block size. Just a few hours ago, I read an article in Coindesk which claimed that the BCH block size may be increased again next year. Good for BCH, I'd say. The core is killing the Bitcoin indirectly through the astronomic transaction fee.
16859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 11k plus is the price of Bitcoin Now. my fear is..... on: December 04, 2017, 04:54:24 AM
Bitcoin might drastically go down deep following the sudden surge in price. If am wrong you can correct my impression thank you.

Increasing prices mean that the demand is still strong. And IMO, it is going to hit new peaks, once the CME and CBOE start the trading of Bitcoin futures in their exchanges. Bitcoin will become mainstream once these exchanges start derivative trading. The big bulls will enter the market and take BTC to the outer space.
16860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people sell bitcoins? on: December 04, 2017, 04:49:33 AM
I think that when you get a big profit, you will sell Bitcoin to get money. Because, Bitcoin can't pay for all things in the world

Bitcoin is no longer regarded as a currency. Most of us consider it as an investment asset. So obviously, you can't make payments using an investment asset. Have you ever made any payments using physical gold? Anyway who want to pay using Bitcoin, especially after paying a transaction fee of $10 to $20 per transaction?
