Is the anonymous feature a mixer? Something like coinjoin?

MammothCoin license the great SuperSend technology

What is anonymous features?

Anonymous features hide the traces of the transaction. So basically when you want to send from A to B, instead of showing in the blockchain explicitly a transaction showing A-B, it may show A->X, then Y->B, where X, Y are some random addresses (at least from a large address pool). Of course the transaction can be further obfuscated, such as you can split the sending amount to several parts, and apply the above for each part. This way, it is virtually impossible to trace the real transaction. So it protects your privacy.

Some people asked for details of our plan and implementations, here are some information on it. I'll use question/answer format to give details. Please post more questions if you have, the dev team will do our best to answer them.

Q: What is the overall plan for Mammothcoin to support anonymous features?

A: Our ultimate goal is to create a peer-to-peer and completely de-centralized anonymous system. This is shown in the following diagram. Any node can become an intermediate "mixing" node, if some minimum requirements are satisfied. There is no central control parts. Everything is peer-to-peer and de-centralized.[/center]

Remember that this is a trustless system, any node may cheat if it can.

In order to achieve these goals, we divide our work into two steps:

Phase-1: To achieve anonymous wallet with a simplified, and easy to implement system.
Phase-2: To implement a fully decentralized peer-to-peer anonymous system.

What is an anonymous system? Simply put, it is a system that people can not trace clearly the transactions from the blockchain, and see where the transaction really originated and where it is terminated. This protects people's privacy.

So why we don't go directly to our end-goal? This is because from our surveys and investigations, it is very complex and difficult to achieve a completely decentralized anonymous system. The key here is the "trust". When you do A->X->B, where X is some sort of the middle "mixer" node, the send or sign or commit of A->X and X->B (or its equivalent, such as a double-signed address, mini-escrow, etc), can not completely happen simultaneously, the one side (sender or Mixer-node) that has the last act can always cheat, though sometimes the cheat does not give the cheater benefits, but it can cause damage to the other party. Therefore, a complete trustless system is more difficult to be implemented (though it is possible - we'll discuss some more below).

For this reason, in phase-1 we decided to develop a system that will depend on some sort of the trust, it is much easier to implement, and will give people the anonymous feature. This trust will be done through the dev team, or a credible mining pool.

Q: What is your Phase-1 solution?
A: Our initial anonymous solution will involve some middle trusted mixing pools. This is shown in the following diagram below:

The mixing pools will be hosted initially by dev team, and can also be hosted by credible mining pools. The anon send will be directed to these mixing pools by wallet and mixed and then send to its destination.

Basically it is done like this:
A (source) -> {Xi} (i = 1, ..., m), then {Yi} (i = 1, ..., n)->B (destination)
where {Xi} and {Yi} are randomly chosen addresses from a large pool of addresses (belonging to a mixing pool,
and these addresses are periodically refreshed, phased out, and created).

The source amount from A is split randomly into m parts (for now we choose m = 2,3 or 4 randomly in the anon version we will release for testing, but it will be a configurable parameters later), they are sent to m random addresses in randomly chosen mixing pool. The pool, on confirming the amounts received, will send the same amount in n parts to the destination (for our testnet we choose n=1, again this can be changed and configured).
The result transaction is not traceable (at least extremely difficult to trace, given the large number of addresses in the mixing pool and dynamism of the addresses).

The main part of our phase-1 solution is implemented, and we will release a version for testnet shortly.

Q: Sounds good, is mixing pool software and coin wallet client two different softwares?
A: Absolutely not. They are exactly the same. It is the MAMMOTHcoin wallet. Eventually this will be used for peer-to-peer system (in phase-2), so no reason to be different. Now we configure only a few special nodes as trusted nodes. Once we implement the trustless system in phase-2, no special config is needed.

Q: What is a trust system, and what is a trustless system?
A: A trust system will have at least one node that everyone trusts. This node will never cheat. Other nodes may or may not cheat.
A trustless system is that any nodes will cheat if they can. So to implement a trustless system it is more difficult as you have to implement mechanisms to prevent or discourage a node to cheat. If a node cheats, it will lose much more than it gains.

Q: Can you give some details on the mixing pool?
A: OK, it is basically a wallet client, with a pool feature configured as shown below.

An array of the incoming/outgoing addresses are created and refreshed dynamically, and randomly chosen for each transaction. Incoming and outgoing addresses balance their coins with predefined algorithms.

so lets point something out, about those listed and this one.
This one actually does what it says, PoS over Tor.
It only Operates over Tor, dont believe me, check your peer list you will either see .onion or 127.0.0.1 which would be running through the tor proxy.
in case you wanted to know how to check this open the console and type getpeerinfo.
another thing you could do is look at debug.log you will only see .onion and 127.0.0.1 adding or dropping. no standard ipv4 or ipv6 addresses.

MAMM is living and doing its way, slowly resisting to the big dump and the aggressive trading occured after the initial pump.  The ones who are looking for fast and 'easy' profit, usually invest big cash on the first run then quickly go out after the first or second drop. Sometimes their timming is perfect and they won the deal, sometimes not... This is not exclusive to MAMM - It happens with all new currencies.

I don't like much those gambling trading methods. I prefer to make medium/long term investments and that's what I'm doing with MAMM.

There's more then a 15 days chart to look at. The product - MAMM coin - is technically very well designed and works perfectly. Very fast, very reliable and tbh, with a 50% POS interest, it can generate lots of coins for the ones who invested or are willing to invest on MammothCoin.

So the problem is just how cheap it is now and some fud still going on among some of the investors, mainly those who were a bit more greedy and put more then they should on the deal.

As always, there are 3 alternatives: SELL HOLD or BUY. Now:

a) Are you going to sell your mamms for 400 sat and just call it a loss?

b) Will you hold them, maybe stake some, and be part of the ones that really want this coin to raise to the moon, but sustentably and without rush?

c) Maybe you still consider MAMM as a good investment (there are a lot of reasons that can make you think it is!), it's very cheap now and it will awake sooner or later, so you'll buy some more.

That's how our business work! Decision - Reaction - Decision.

I can't deny that I would have prefered MAMM to maintain the initial growth and the initial dynamic. But it didn't (and I expected that). But that doen't mean I'm out of it. I'm holding my coins, I'm staking a bunch, I've a rig minning MAMM, and I'm still here sharing my toughts, ready to contribute to anything I consider to be important for this project, making decisions, round after round, turn after turn... and everything will be alright! Smiley

I don't make fortune with crypto trading. But my profits, until now, are indeed very interesting. Also, I have read a lot, studied a lot, tried different approaches, and now I have a sharper perception about most of the stuff that exist around cryptocurrency realms.

One thing interest me the most, even more then 'how much can I profit adding a specific coin to the portfolio' it's the Community factor. The future of cryptocurrency, seeing beyond pure finance, has a true social nature. And that's, imo, the main factor which determine the technologic state of the art, new socio-economic models and big businesses for the pioneers of this new mentality.

Scam schemes and toxics will never end but more and more people (and the market itself) are already starting to understand, just observing the nature and the flow of each new crypto project, if it has big or small chances to succeed. And, imho, that can't be read immediatly from the charts or the order books. Bacause I'm talking about big changes, mind revolution, new human behaviour, and that takes time. So, again, I think after some chaos and asyncronous debate, there's now some interessant thesis that points to some very plausible scenarios where cryptocurrency will have the main role on the economy and that will be indexed to the parallel development of particular communities and their specific (or global) playground and interests.

Any thoughts?

MAMMOTHCOIN is a working anonymous coin with fast transactions and no fork issues. Prices are such a steal.

QUOTE Supercoin forum thread

Seems SUPER coin is setting a new precident. Any coin without distributed anon worth nothing? Then why are shitcoins like Blackcoin worth so much. Price needs to come back.

looks like this scamcoin hit my target of 1K SAT.

come on saberu. Put up those buy walls so I can dump the last of this shit coin.

I would if I could, I put all my BTC in Mamm coin and also dropping with SUPER. I know you guys like to joke about me, but I lost over $10k from SUPER and also feel cheated by the dev for his false hopes over phase two.

I was cheated as much as anyone else, there won't be many people who lost more money than me on this coin. So it's wrong to direct peoples anger and responsibility of loss to me.

I had $50k 3 months ago profiting from other coins but a series of bad decisions I lost it all, overconfidence to invest in `new` anon coins.

In retrospect I should have stayed in either XC/VRC both of which I owned before.

I am sure no coin has been technically superior to Supercoin & MAMOTHCOIN
But I recommend dev. do not support Supercoin
Supercoin - very unfortunate name, things with sonorous, pretentious names are not restored after the accident (it is the law of bioenergy)
I think Supercoin finally dead.

MAMOTHCOIN - coin no accidents, good name associated with Greenpeace theme. Dev. should promote maximum MAMOTHCOIN
Possible use Supercoin Whitepaper & Road Map for MAMOTHCOIN

Btw mammothcoin name is fine, however the abbreviation is something that could be changed to make pop out more.

As said mammothcoin is fine, the marketing just hasn't been great so far. There's a lot of ways to make this a very marketable name.
