1703  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi can't be just one... on: January 27, 2016, 10:56:28 PM
Guys, correct me if I'm wrong but,
Considering the whole concept of how Bitcoins come into existence, Satoshi Nakamoto cannot be just one person, right? It must be a group...
if the whole thing lies in transactions, how could have Satoshi mined the genesis block all by himself?

satoshi was not alone..
but satoshi name was used by only one person.

even before 2009 genesis block, satoshi was talking to a few people on the cypherpunks forum. and many people were interested in his experiment in 2008 when he released the whitepaper.

so when it came time to start mining. he did not mine alone for 6-9 months. there were people mining the very first day.

chain analysis showed a second miner mined block 12 (no one knows who) and then someone block 28 and 29, someone at block 64.. then hal finney at block 73-78

Yeah! that was the answer I was guessing to be the most obvious.
But I can't stop thinking that even if "he" released the white paper as being just one, there's a chance that "he" could have devised it all with some other members of the cypherpunk community.
I still believe that Satoshi could have been just the adopted  fictional anonymous character that was supposed to turn out the whole thing public.

You could check the following website: http://www.thebitcoinpage.com/ Scroll down all the way until you reach the end and there you will see the "Alternative Currencies" section and in case what you were asking was purely about crypto site for BTCitcoin then the same website could be used as well.

Great! that was exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks for all the help mate!
Are you the owner of the site?

Bitcoin Price Technical Analysis for 25/01/2016 – Symmetrical Triangle Alert!

The 100 SMA held as a dynamic support area, as it lined up with the bottom of the triangle near the $360 level. This might be enough to keep losses in check for the near term, putting bitcoin price on track towards the top of the formation around the $440-450 levels.

However, stochastic seems to be pointing down, indicating that sellers...

Litecoin Price Technical Analysis – Continues to Probe 100 Hourly Average

There were a few positive signs for Litecoin price this past week, as it managed to move higher after trading as low as $3.01. The price has now formed an ascending channel pattern formed on the hourly chart (data feed via Bitfinex), which is acting as a mover for the price. However, the price is struggling to break the channel resistance trend line, as is it acting as a tough barrier for buyers. There is another barrier on the upside for the price, as the 100 hourly simple moving average is aligned below the channel upper trend line.

1713  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Great news 4 European Bitcoiners on: January 25, 2016, 06:38:45 PM
It seems that the European Union decided to go soft on digital currencies.

Reuters says:

EU says to monitor, not regulate 'hyped' virtual currencies

"The European Union will monitor rather than regulate "hyped" virtual currencies for now, because too little is known to justify new rules beyond reining in specific risks like money-laundering, the body's executive said on Monday.

The world's 600 virtual currencies are tiny, with bitcoin alone accounting for 90 percent of the $7 billion sector, compared with daily turnover of about $5 trillion on global foreign exchange markets.

Virtual currencies are traded online and not backed by a central bank. The collapse of bitcoin exchange Mt. Gox two years ago raised concerns about consumer protection in a largely self-regulated, experimental sector."

1718  Local / Portugal / Re: Betfair.com on: January 24, 2016, 04:10:30 AM
O meu conselho é, esquece a Betfair.

A verdade é que a Bitcoin can't be shutdown e enquanto a comunidade lhe der valor e "purpose" it can't be stopped...
