If instant transactions work, after open sourcing, I bet that within 90 days of open sourcing, overstock.com will allow DRK as a method of payment.
Thats a big bet - although if instant transactions work - the entire crypto community will be turned on its head. Would bitcoin adopt DRK technology just to keep afloat which in turn shows its inferior. Bitcoin struggles with large concurrent transaction volume let alone waiting hours for confirmations. I cant stand watching my transactions to exchanges when the blocks are sometimes SO far apart. I'm pretty sure I know how Evan has bypassed the need for lengthy confirmations, at least in principle, and Bitcoin won't be doing it any time soon.  (Nor will any other cryptocurrency without Masternodes...) |

Wow. I've been away watching Scottish referendum. What happened to DRK ?  The bookies are giving 4-1 on a Yes. I'll be disgusted with the Scots if they vote against independence. One more example of dickless Celtic failure. (I'm Irish, I get to call Celts dickless failures.) Do you honestly believe TPTB are gunna let the pasty skinned animals escape the farmer?? Curious.. anyone check their wallet vs block explorer? Buddy noticed his was about 10% different. Mines close-ish...
His addy hasnt changed from I could see... normal Qt based wallet...
Any others have the same issue?

Your total wallet balance isn't necessarily all in one address within the wallet. It certainly isn't with Darksend enabled, and if you have ever sent funds from that wallet you're almost certain to have some change addresses, etc. |

You know what would make market manipulation harder for the whales? An exchange that allowed you to buy above the minimum ask, and specifically buy from manipulatory walls without having to go through all the lower asks to get to them. I'd happily pay a few percent extra just to fuck with the whales and take their coins. |

How profitable is it to run a masternode? What's the lowest requirements for the hardware?
1000DRK needed, earnings are: ((576 blocks/day divided by number of masternodes) * 20% of block reward) so appx 0.6DRK/day currently ~ 22% annual return. Minus about 5 bucks/quid/euros a month for hosting, which should get you 1GB RAM, 1 CPU, enough HDD space and bandwidth. Bandwidth is important, shop for lots of it. |

Is there any service or exchange that would let you type in a private key to a Darkcoin address to get access to those DRK, or any other way to do it if you only had access to a browser and didn't have access to a wallet program? I know there are ways to do this with BTC.
Why would you want to trust a website with your privkey(s)? The trust required is no worse than having the coins in an exchange. The user shouldn't leave their coins in an address for very long after they've typed the private key to that address into the browser. Edit: apart from man-in-the-middle attack I guess... use https. That's like saying ebola is no worse than rabies... |

Having had to contract with fiat gateways in the past, this is rather an interesting question. Why is it needed for RC5, or next stage of development - now that is the question you should be asking yourself. Sorry can you explain what you mean here a bit more (am curious). 1st guess would be something to do with The Foundation, which at least initially would probably need to run on some fiat as well as DRK. |
