1701  Economy / Securities / Re: Vircurex may 2013 report, is this a joke Kumala ? on: June 11, 2013, 04:11:59 PM
By definition of book value, if Vircurex was shut down at the end of May, and everything got liquidated, shareholders will be left with -102.33 BTC.
Is it possible, they have no idea how book value is actually calculated and have pulled some arbitrary numbers out of their arse?
Not surprised because this looks like a common practice in the funny land of btc finances. One delusional dipshit likes to call it "the standard", btw. Smiley

Don't confuse what you do with your scammy ART asset and what this guy does, on one side (ie, childish delusions of "finance") and what MPEx does (ie, the actual standards of Bitcoin finance).

The distinction is important for you because internalizing it represents your only chance of becoming less stupid than you currently are. Irrespective of how small this chance is or may appear to you, it's absolutely all you've got.

People who warn about that do either so in a way that is usually insultive or at least perceived as a "typical naysayer" that just weakens the entrepreneurial spirit...

"People" need to fix their perceptions misconceptions.

4. Step outside of your ideology. You might have been brought up in a very repressive social milieu in which some particular ideological slant was drilled into you. This is working to your disadvantage, get rid of it. Are you sticking up for your friends because they're your friends rather than because they have a point? Great for facebook, horrible for BTC. You will lose money. Are you following the crowd like a welfare state lemming? Great for the white collar slave, horrible for BTC. You will lose money. Do you think form is above content and as such it's okay to invade foreign countries and slaughter civilians just as long as nobody says shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker or tits on TV? Great for being an American, horrible for the free world. You will lose money.

5. Re-read this entire post. It probably didn't fully sink in on the first pass.

There really is no other way.

thank you MPOE-PR for supporting. you know what, we have the same haircut Cheesy

If I hadn't seen that exact avatar on about a half dozen different noob accounts I'd be more impressed.

That too.

wow. was there actually that much liquidity?

Nope, not even close. Tytus just likes to tell stories about imaginary bazillions.

1705  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scam tag request] user unclescrooge founder and operator of bitfinex.com on: June 11, 2013, 01:26:45 AM
Once again, it might be bad business practices, but is it really elevated to the point of a scam that deserves a scammer tag?  Even if all the things said here were true, no one lost any money in the deal and while the company took a risk

You are either mixing yourself in discussing topics significantly outside of your intellectual purview out of a naive but ultimately dangerous conviction that simply being born out of woman qualifies you to form an opinion on any topic and to speak in any circumstance, or else you're a shill. Now which one is it?
1706  Economy / Securities / Re: Vircurex may 2013 report, is this a joke Kumala ? on: June 10, 2013, 11:20:18 PM
Wasn't it just a few months ago that Vircurex went "public" allowing investors to buy shares in their stock?

Yes, it was. And at the same time somebody said a few things about how nonsensical that all was.

Those who heeded said somebody's warning are okay. Those who thought themselves smarter have been duly fined.
1707  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: PicoStocks, bitcoin stock exchange on: June 10, 2013, 11:18:31 PM
PicoStocks is down for 1 day. A hacker obtained the password of a big shareholder of Proteon and started executing trades that led to a drop of the price of this asset. The hacker was able to transfer around 1300 BTC from PicoStocks to this account: https://blockchain.info/address/1PoYfqyTnxKdCpv5ydzEGepW5GLsRRHgBb
We will fix the damage today and the trading should continue tomorrow. We will reset the status of Proteon shares to previous state. Other shares were not affected.

A PicoStocks account is supposed to be permanently tied to a specific Bitcoin address. How was the attacker able to withdraw to a seemingly arbitrary address?

The plot thickens.

Looking forward to seeing which will be the third completely imaginary, multi-million dollar mining "investment" this guy makes, after having lost that much on bASIC and seeing how BitFury isn't going to be delivering (or at least, not on the originally promised schedule).
1708  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitfloor issues? on: June 10, 2013, 11:15:00 PM
I am astonished at the ability of the bit-coin community to read negative interpretations outside of the actual words that were written.

You must be new here.

What gave it away?
1709  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scam tag request] user unclescrooge founder and operator of bitfinex.com on: June 10, 2013, 11:14:23 PM
I've scheduled a meeting with my financial advisor tomorrow and will be letting them know my intentions to invest in illegally traded stocks on an unregulated stock exchange, who's office is, again, a middle class dude's house in Romania. Seems legit.

The only people you "schedule meetings" with are prostitutes, if they take food stamps that day, and cops, if they feel like beating up on some schmuck while passing by your reputable business space station/bus stop.
1710  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scam tag request] user unclescrooge founder and operator of bitfinex.com on: June 10, 2013, 09:54:15 PM
Because it doesn't run on exploit-riddled ruby-on-rails
You must be new here

What gave it away? Was it perhaps

How dare you call me a scammer, you spread lies for MPEX, the biggest Bitcoin ponzi scheme who's office is just a house in romania.

I run a much more reputable business than you, and you even dare to call me a scammer...

Everyone knows REAL offices of REALLY more reputable businesses than yours are run off boats and satellites. And maff.

1712  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scam tag request] user unclescrooge founder and operator of bitfinex.com on: June 10, 2013, 05:07:16 PM
I see that a bit different because we are still mixing up two things here.

1) According to all things posted here "myself" was an employee.

Not at all. He's posted enough to make it clear he was an early round, low valuation investor who is now seeing his stake converted by "management" (ie, the thief with the logins) for the benefit of later stage investors.

The exact method employed in the tortious transfer of interest in Bitcoin Magazine a few months back. Ample reason to go to jail in most any part of the civilised world for that matter.
1713  Economy / Lending / Re: my name is cindy on: June 10, 2013, 04:47:20 PM
bitcoin address: 09476c42a064ee3995804eeea1feb4126d70792a
That's not even a valid address Tongue

Her other future bf will explain how this entire address stuff works.

I just wanted to add that peace is bad, mmkay?

Great story tho'. Not worth 15 bux I guess, but still, great story.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Measure Value in Infrastructure Development not Price on: June 10, 2013, 01:23:08 PM
People are a valuable resource- the most valuable in terms of something like bitcoin.

I think that's a common misconception. Selected people are the most valuable resource, much like selected earths are the most valuable resource. People generally are about as valuable as dirt generally.

conferences means educating larger number of people about bitcoin, proselytizing the bitcoin philosophy, building local bitcoin communities and creating new networks of individuals with a common goal.

I'll be a darling and not bitch about extraneous s's (this, incidentally, is a figure of speech, goes by the name apophasis) but I can't pass the remarkable "proselytizing the philosophy". This is also a figure of speech, you name it.

So here's the thing: unless the "Bitcoin philosophy" is rampant Icandoeverything mixed with Thisisthesecretbankershate-howaretardmadebazillions, with the obvious heap of Imascammerhearmeroar piled on top (look here, and here) I have no idea what exactly you imagine these conferences are proselytizing.

A nice place for Jared Kenna to go pretend he didn't scam the users of the (at the time) second largest exchange (seriously, what happened to the Dwolla lawsuit?), as if that does anything. A nice place for Vehehes to pretend like the "Bitcoin Foundation" has anything to do with Bitcoin, and that it's ok for the unelected president to be the unelected secretary, and that it's okay to use donation funds to prop his own private ventures, and so on and so forth. A nice place for retards that can't read code but love to write (bad, useless, buggy code) to go and snort together over lifesize anorexic 16yos drawn on posters and pillows. Seriously man, snap out of it. Conferences measure nothing and never have.

It's difficult to measure infrastructure directly

No, actually, it's not. Looky here. Do the math of what exactly those numbers mean and you might suddenly realize why your agreeing with what MP says is moot, and why your considerations of "magic numbers" are wholly out of place.

This isn't a magic numbers game, we're not all fuzzy inside and magically equally entitled and equally important. The whole "every man's a vote" or "everyone has a soul" and gathering together to wait for catered meals doesn't change the world.

Infrastructure is extremely easy to measure, and accurately. The problem is that most nobody wants to either do it or see it done, and this is because of the dirt generally issue above. It's unflattering to the cherished delusions of the crowd.

Wrong kind of shower. If it says "Golden" in front, urine for sudden precipisstation.

Reading greyhawk these days is giving me a dirty kind of feeling.
1718  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [scam tag request] user unclescrooge founder and operator of bitfinex.com on: June 10, 2013, 01:02:28 PM
This thread is lulz, wonder why the Bitfinex source Bitcoinica source hasn't been re-leaked already.

Because by now it has evolved into a singularity (torus shaped) and a bunch of golums are circling it chanting "my preciousssss, my preciousssss".

Particularly amusing is the blogpost of the Raphael muppet. Oh he's worked so very hard (so what if stupidly?!) and his personal life is a mess so please can he at least have this?

The answer, of course, is no. That's not how life works. This isn't the artificially constructed environment known as school where if you whine and appeal to emotion enough the teacher might give you a passing grade.

Go back to high school Raphy, that's where your delusions of what professional means aren't out of place.
1719  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BitcoinTalk.org Reputation and Trust Management Services on: June 10, 2013, 01:00:02 PM
Remove Negative Feedback
Have an unprompted scammer feedback? Most likely it is from our team.

We can remove negative feedback (delete it) for just $99.99.

This is lifetime. You will never get another negative feedback from us.

OP uses hacked accounts. I can provide this same service using legitimate accounts from reputable stand-up people in the Bitcoin community who have left to do other things and have sold their account. Most have signed legally binding NDA's that prevent them by law from telling anyone that the account has changed owners.

PM me if interested.

I can also provide financing if you need to purchase a large amount of feedback but don't have the money straight away.

I would say this thread embodies today's forum. Open to the public means every single two bit scammer will try and set up camp there.

Hey everybody! Roman has actually responded to a twitter inquiry about Bitfloor funds! Here it is:

@defunctzombie @binarybits yo, I could really use that $ I had in My @bitfloor account. Any progress on getting refunds processed?

Roman Shtylman Roman Shtylman ‏@defunctzombie 31minutes ago
@DaPlaneBoss @binarybits progress is being made. Hopefully have solid updates soon.

M M ‏@DaPlaneBoss 27m
@defunctzombie @binarybits thx. Good luck. I know its not easy.

Roman Shtylman Roman Shtylman ‏@defunctzombie 26minutes ago
@DaPlaneBoss @binarybits no, it is not and takes time. But I assure you it is being worked on.

So much like Jared Kenna (the scammer of TradeHill fame) that it bleeds. Why should we even get excited some lowlife fuckwit has "made a twitter update"?
