1701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price perspective on: September 24, 2017, 12:00:08 PM
     0-$1000: 8 years
$1000-2000: 5 months
$2000-3000: 11 weeks
$3000-4000: 26 days (or only 16 days leading up to Sept 1 ATH, pre-"China FUD")
$4000-5000: 37 days

     0-$1000: 100,000%
$1000-2000: 100%
$2000-3000: 50%
$3000-4000: 33%
$4000-5000: 25% (and has not yet happened by the way).

now that you look at it like this, you can see it was not really a significant rise, you should change your price ranges into percentages if you want to compare them in my opinion. (it will still be similar -faster rise as time passes- but it won't be that big)

the adoption is like this and we are still in the "early adopters" stage which is pretty slow. and it will get faster soon and becomes vertical (with it price will be the same) until the mass adoption and then it plateaus.

1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin will be the next ETH ? on: September 24, 2017, 11:49:55 AM
"next ETH" needs to be a new coin that comes on in the future and it certainly needs to have a new game not just repeat what ETH used for its big pump.

coins you named like XMR are old and more solid than a new pump and dump ETH. they will exist as they are now with a little rise over time.

coins like NEO, WAVES, LISK,... are also old and are doing the same thing as ETH, they don't do anything new. it is different and they have potential, i am not denying that. just the fact that they won't become the next pump and dump like ETH.
1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex confirmations stuck at 23/36 for 90 minutes so far on: September 24, 2017, 11:39:56 AM
whenever something like that happens the reasons is either the wallet or the network itself.
- it is possible that there has not been any blocks mined for whatever reason. so the confirmation is stuck (chances are low but still possible because of difficulty and miners leaving).
- it is also possible that their wallet can not receive the new blocks. maybe it crashed, disconnected, can not find peers or something like that.
- it is also possible that because of some bug their system is not fetching the update from their wallet.

in any case you just have to wait a little longer. and if was not credited to your account until now, contact support.
1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW LONG CAN ALTCOIN LAST ? on: September 24, 2017, 11:31:24 AM
After I see altcoin graphs who experienced increasing and decreasing
I think will altcoin like ripple, litecoin every year price will increase or chan altcoin dead ?
maybe you can help me over my turmoil against altcoin

it is because the altcoins are mostly pump and dumps without any real usages. there are some exceptions for some of them such as for litecoin but most of them like ripple are pure 100% pump and dump. that is why you see "increasing and decreasing" a lot on the charts.

how long they can last?
it depends on what you call "lasting". there are a lot of coins that are considered shitcoins and they are worth less than a satoshi but they are still listed somewhere on some exchange and they are being traded. would you call that lasting?
1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: India cryptocurrency 'Lakshmi Coin' on: September 24, 2017, 11:25:04 AM
What ? Govt of India may launch India's own cryptocurrency 'Lakshmi Coin' ?

No it's not true. Lakshmi is from an independent developer who experimented some level of centralization in blockchain.
There's no government involved.
Here's the announcement.

that is not much of an announcement though! it seems more like a bad joke of a random throwaway account possibly even to ruin the name of the coin.

- no source code
- no website
- no link
- no proper explanation

he just says a couple of vague stuff and goes away.

i can not recall the name of the coin but i know well enough that there was in fact a project by Indian gov. to do something like that. and it is still in early stages. it is not really big or official yet.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fake news :Bitcoin is not banned in china on: September 24, 2017, 11:16:35 AM
News is correct, its not fake. They are even trying to block all btc transactions.
Read here: https://news.bitcoin.com/china-block-all-bitcoin-transactions/

first this is bullshit.
secondly it is impossible to do which makes it even more bullshit
third it is bitcoin.com and they have just been trying to put fuel into the already burnt out fire to try and pump their altcoin (bitcoin cash). and they have been failing.
finally, a click-bait news site which belongs to Roger Ver is not a reliable source.
1707  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Moving to another exchange on: September 22, 2017, 11:16:51 AM
check out this list: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets
for additional markets.

try abritage in bittrex or poloniex. good exchanger is that I have no problem with that exchanger. You still have the coinexchange.io very good service.

don't even bother with arbitrage specially with bigger coins involved and with fiat involved. there will be so few opportunities and so little profit while having a lot of competition!
1708  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price on: September 22, 2017, 11:09:46 AM
Is there any reason why the btc price is dropping again? Im keep checking the news and i cant find anything which could be the reason of a 200€+ drop in the last day...

Also, it looks like the bitcoin is always dropping fridays / over the weekend?

news is actually filled with reasons about bitcoin price fall!
all over the media they are attacking bitcoin and some are even spreading FUD. most of the articles even from big and well known names are poorly written by people who don't understand bitcoin or understand it well and want to damage it only.

they create panic, or in other words Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. and that is why price is dropping a little these days.

p.s. your topic should be in speculation board. it looks like it is already moved Tongue
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paper Wallet for Bitcoin Cash? on: September 22, 2017, 10:58:16 AM
but there's no Electrum-like desktop wallet for Bitcoin Cash,
there is!
it is called Electron-cash and it is a fork of Electrum made for bitcion cash. it has some issues and you better download the source and build it yourself.
link to website: http://www.electroncash.org/
link to source: https://github.com/fyookball/electrum

Quote
Paper Wallets are also way more secure, for me.

What are the situation with paper wallets for Bitcoin Cash?
Is there any - or is there any in the making?

since the keys are no different in bitcoin cash with bitcoin (to this day) you can simply use http://bitaddress.org/ to make a bitcoin address and use that as your BCH paper wallet.
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Private key constructed from DNA on: September 22, 2017, 10:54:04 AM
What if our own blood was where we store our private key. The DNA code is put through a processor that is scrambled. Once that happens that scrambled data is then converted into a private key from which we can get a public address. That public address is how you can receive payment from others such as your workplace.
next time you go to a coffee shop, a restaurant or simply walk in the street anyone can take a sample of your DNA (saliva on the cup, hair,...) and viola they have all your money.

Quote
So when ever you want to purchase something at a store you just prick your finger and boom.
have fun with the blood transmitted diseases...

Quote
With the DNA thing, someone might take a hair from your head and steal all your money.
oh so you know this already Cheesy

Quote
With the retinal scanner though, you wouldn't be able to have multiple users for a single address.
bitcoin wallets will become super expensive and big to carry around then. not to mention unsafe.

Quote
Facial recognition to verify it is you.
even more expensive, not to mention not perfect.
1711  Economy / Speculation / Re: What was the reason behind Bitcoin bear market of 2014-2015? on: September 21, 2017, 11:27:37 AM
MtGox crashed the market, a lot of people lost a lot of confidence in bitcoin & the sell off commenced. It's like a snowball effect but then this created opportunities for people to get in cheap.

it is true but it should be mentioned that MtGox crashed the price they have fakely pumped.
price was about $200 when they started their willy bot to fake pump bitcoin and by that time MtGox controlled almost all the volume that came in bitcoin so they controlled bitcoin price easily. they pumped it to $1200 in less than a month and then because of their scam and running away, market was left without any proper exchange and in a big bubble then the rest of what you said happened.
1712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Pirate Bay's website steals your CPU Power to mine Monero on: September 21, 2017, 11:11:30 AM
as far as i understood from the real news, it was not exactly stealing anything. it was an option or more of a test to see if they can replace their advertisements (which are intrusive too) with this in order to be able to cover the costs of server,... and earn some money.
apparently the donation method doesn't work for them. and with the closure of nearly every other torrent website PB remains the only one standing with a huge traffic.
1713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: advice about wallets on: September 21, 2017, 11:03:58 AM
read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631151.0 for some details on bitcoin wallets. as a starter i suggest using something simple like Electrum. it is fast to sync and easy to use with a good documentation.

for ETH, there are a couple which you can find on their website. there is also myetherwallet and blockchain.info as web wallet.
1714  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Mining Farm in China be Closed? on: September 21, 2017, 10:59:40 AM
i really doubt something like that can happen. so far whatever Chinese have done was regarding fiat (their local currency CNY) and in order to prevent illegal activities that were made easy with the exchanges such as money laundering.
and the miners are too big and have deep roots that can not be simply extinguished. there are big companies and big farms. and the rest of them are just pools with servers around the world.
1715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Small Coins For Massive Profits? on: September 20, 2017, 12:35:12 PM
I recently decided to invest 50$ into buzzcoin (really small coin, barely anyone knows about them), because the value was about 10 sats so i figured what the hell, right. Now it just got a reasonable pump that made me almost 350$ in profits in less than 5 days.

How would you find coins like this on a rather regular basis, are there strategies people follow? I don't plan on investing large amounts of money in them, as I've got BTC, LTC, NEO and a few ICO's for that, but it's fun to look for small coins that haven't pumped yet and invest a couple tens of dollars in them.

i watch the movements. of course it is hard to find these tiny altcoins move but it is worth a try. when the altcoin is small anybody can pump it. the groups are so many and they do things randomly and fast. but at the same time this speed makes it hard to find, join in an get profit. an that is risky. this strategy for bigger coins works better though.

in any case i also do investments like your $50 from time to time. it is a fun risk. if you buy at the bottom and they drop, the drop will be small! your $50 turns into $40 worse case scenario but if they get pumped you can get some nice profit in your pocket for fun like that $350 of yours.
1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Changelly or Shapeshift the cheapest exchanger? on: September 20, 2017, 12:16:54 PM
Maybe you should try a real exchange maybe bittrex or poloniex (support sucks) Shapeshift or any other clone is doing same thing with e fee. they buy and send from other exchanges.

it is not at all the same thing. actually it is very different when you think about it.

services like ShapeShift are offering an instant way to exchange one thing to another without needing to register (sign up) wait then withdraw,... it is fast and a little bit more private.

services like bittrex which are known as exchanges require registration and in some cases even verification of your account before you are able to trade or withdraw. it takes longer time but you have the option to place an order on the price you like, and so many other options for "trading".
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: cryptocurrencies will become legit when : (GIVE YOUR BEST ANSWER) on: September 20, 2017, 12:09:45 PM
Cryptocurrencies will become legit when not only World of Warcraft & League of Legends players will use it, but also The Sims players

no child, the world is not made of gamers. it is much bigger than that Wink
but kidding aside, Steam already accepts bitcoin payments for over a year. i don't know who runs WoW but you can ask them to add bitcoin payment option.

and bitcoin is already legit in many big countries. some even removed taxes on it and some are talking about it.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin FUD's and China status? on: September 20, 2017, 12:02:28 PM
JP Morgan Jamie Dimon buying tons of bitcoin causing a price pump from the bottomed out dip, will a dump follow this?
that is wrong and foolish on so many levels!
there is a pretty good chance that JPM has actually invested in bitcoin but only an idiot would buy in a way to cause the price to jump back up.

that so called jump you saw was the result of bitcoin breaking a resistance line ($3000) and the huge demand of bitcoin taking the opportunity to buy back.

Quote
What about chinese exchanges closing at the end of september, will this cause the price to dip again or price has been already reflected for this?
No, because it has already dropped enough because of this
and that is how news works.

Quote
So the end of october we will know whether chinese miners will be banned or not from the China government 19th congress? Ok from this if chinese miners get banned then segwit 2x wont happen or vice versa?
there is no indication of Chinese mining being banned. stop spreading FUD.
we can not say much about S2X now either.

Quote
Or is bitcoin is free from all this FUD now and will rise steadily and healthily to $5000 ATH?
bitcoin is never free from FUD. the rise has been healthy so far with expected corrections and rises all around.
the FUD is an inseparable part of any market and most effective for bitcoin. it doesn't mean FUD can prevent the rise. it will only delay it.
1719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't you just love the vibe going on right now? on: September 20, 2017, 11:56:47 AM
yeah, well it is a new and interesting technology which actually has a lot of different usages in real world. which is why you hear a lot about the blockchain technology these days. and of course bitcoin being the biggest one that started all this movement on this scale means bitcoin will also be mentioned on all those circles.

and on top of it all bitcoin has been performing very well this year and that makes it the headline of a lot of financial circles as an investment with a good future.
1720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to the moon! No China no more problems. on: September 18, 2017, 11:28:26 AM
Bitcoin is recovering very fast in lightning speed!
actually with bitcoin standard it is a slow recovery! every since 15th the price is barely reaching $4000 now after 3 days. the fast recovery would have been $4500 2 days ago. Smiley

Quote
It appears the value will grow even bigger without china with more market stability.
China didn't go anywhere. Chinese are buying bitcoin more than past. the price was low enough for them to buy even more at a much bigger profit!

Quote
Bitcoin value grow with approximately 8% in the last 24 hours which is very excellent!
We are back in no time, fellas! We're even more powerful yet heading to the MOON! Grin
yeap!
price already broke $4000 and if some whale doesn't decide to go against the market movement, we can surely see the normal price level of $4500 and work from there.
