Sadly as the wealthiest nation in the world our healthcare coverage is ranked somewhere in the teens I believe (by world health organizations) when it comes to best coverage.  We arguably have the best hospitals and hospital technology, but when it comes to coverage, it's a corrupt system that only seems to be getting worse.

To put thing in perspective I've worked for Fortune 500 and even Fortune 100 companies in my last 3 positions over the past decade or so.  My healthcare coverage, at these massively wealthy financial institutions, has progressively gotten more expensive and worse as time has gone on.  It infuriates me. So yes this is why so many go over seas for procedures.  Also keep in mind "elective" procedures often get little to no help from insurance coverage, as it's not considered necessary to maintain ones health.
1703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which element of cryptocurrency do you think is tough to understand? on: March 13, 2023, 11:50:14 PM
I think the main thing when it comes to lack of bitcoin knowledge or understanding is the same thing as all investments, or financial tools..lack of putting forth effort to learn.  People struggle to understand bitcoin in large part because they simply don't try and teach themselves!!  As a financial advisor I can say this with 100% certainty because it's the sad truth.  I talk to client about bitcoin all the time and they don't understand it because they haven't put forth almost any effort to learn how it works.  It's sad really.

I still think that it made no sense at all and to react like that to a joke is beyond bonkers.
In the context of an open relationship it made sense, his first reaction was to laugh it off but the joke was not anything close to polite, it was a real low blow.  Personally I see no problem with his extreme objection but a slap officially counts as violence which means it wasn't really anything that could have been planned or will be repeated this year in any way but yea it was nothing that made sense at the time so I first thought it was a joke of some kind.   No side bet for extreme repeat exists that Ive seen sadly :p

I'm not a psychologist, but in my opinion the reaction (something unacceptable) will smith is the reaction of a person who is suffering a lot inside but wants to ignore the problem, in this case I think the guy has many depcoes that the woman brings him but because he wanted to live off appearances he didn't face the problem and since chris rock made a joke about his wife, at that time he behaved like a protector of the woman thinking that with that he would keep up appearances, but he didn't think about the consequences that this would bring

now what I think about the reaction after that is that it was a very exaggerated reaction, they shouldn't have punished him like that, I say that because we can all see that American society does not have good moral values, they are not a good example for anyone, Is something obvious that, all actors have or have had many women, lovers, and most actors have already been involved with drugs and alcohol addiction, so why punish them so severely when they are all the best examples?

because they simply didn't give him a fine and told him to apologize and that was it, the subject would be closed, will smith has good films, it wasn't fair to harm the guy in that way, I even think that some saw an opportunity to destroy the guy, because certain things of punishments against him were not normal, they were very unfair and exaggerated

lol what? Dude you're completely wrong and misinformed.  "I say that because we can all see that American society does not have good moral values, they are not a good example for anyone"  This is one of the most ignorant statements I've ever read.  You have no idea what you're talking about.  If anything being a progressive country shows just the opposite...unlike the insanity that much of east portrays in their outdated ideals.

Will Smith was banned from the Oscars for 10 years first off.  Secondly, it was up to Chris Rock whether or not he wanted to pursue legal action and he chose not to.  Will Smith was wrong, and deserved his punishment.

You're all over the place with what you're saying here.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 13, 2023, 11:42:15 PM

Anyway, I will only bet on the Lakers-Knicks today and will go all in with the Lakers. The Knicks are kind of struggling though they are the one team who has a very good road game record. Still, I'll go with the Lakers even though without Lebron. They are playing very well, and would love to see them continue their winning streak to 4. Smiley Good luck to all bettors.

Unfortunately, the Lakers weren't able to play with the same intensity they showed when they beat the Knicks. This time, they lost the game with AD only scoring 17 points and having a very bad free throw shooting night, making only 1 out of 5 attempts. The New York Knicks won the rebounding battle, and they shot well from the free throw line compared to the Lakers.
Well, a close one, but a very entertaining match.

I lost my bet to them, but still I'm ok with it. Looks like Davis is having a hard time scoring as he only scored 17 points with this one. I don't know if he either he doesn't want to shoot the ball that much so that his teammates can contribute on offense, or he's having a problem that we don't know (probably injury). He isn't 100% I guess that's why he's playing like that.

On the other hand, the duo of Randle and Barrett lead the Knicks scoring a total of 63 points to lead their team to victory after losing 3 straight. I thought that I will see the Lakers on .500 because it has been a long time since they got above .500, but it seems like it isn't happening at least this time. They'll play on the road for the next 2 games, and maybe they can win on both games to get to .500.

Surely Davis wasn't on his usual performance earlier when they faced the Knicks, I don't know what's wrong with him because they are suppose to take advantage of the hand they have even if Lebron is not with them as the Knicks was also incomplete because Brunson wasn't there as well. Besides, they've got some fresher feet compared to the Knicks who had a 2-day road game at LA for facing the Clippers yesterday but again, that wasn't the case in the game earlier.

Right! If only they had the right mindset in that game, they could have end it with a W on their side. The way I see it, it was just an honest mistake but that same mistake was big enough to give the Knicks some advantage over them and as expected, the Knicks took that advantage to end their road games at LA with decent record as they defeated one of the two LA teams.

Later on, we will witness another good match-up and it'll be the Warriors versus Phoenix. For that, I got Warriors on my side.

This was no mistake, the Knicks are just the better team.  People overvalued the Lakers because the team name and history but they are what their record says they are and that's a bottom of the league team.  Knicks should have and did win the game, not because the Lakers screwd up but because the better team won.

I am certainly surprised that the NY Knicks have done as well as they have so far to this point in the season.  I'm certainly not shocked that they beat the Lakers yesterday, as you said it's no mistake.  Now of course the Lakers are without Lebron James at the moment, so it would have been a different game had he been playing, but I'm still impressed with the win from the Knicks.  As you know I'm a big Tom T fan, so I'm happy to see him having success in New York.

Some fun stuff going on today NFL wise so far, and we are of course far from being done.  My Chicago Bears in particular had a really big day..so far.  We got ourselves a nice Offensive Lineman, LB and our big signing is inside Linebacker Tremaine Edmonds..which is the largest 4 year inside LB contract in NFL history with 72 million and 50 guaranteed.

I am a happy man with our massive trade with the Panthers on Friday, getting all those picks and DJ Moore for our #1 pick.

Now the question remains...when is Rodgers going to sign with the Jets...which would be another big win for the Bears! lol

I had accepted funds from Cygan under the impression that Yogg had decided to give some of the funds back. When I found out that wasn’t the case I didn’t want to keep the funds and returned them back to Cygan. I’m a bit confused by what’s being asked here or going on or whatever ..just wanted to share this.

Quick question do we need to be in before the Tuesday play in games or does this touny start when they are down to 64 on Thursday at 12pm est?  I've been in pools where they count the playin and then some that wait.  I will set mine up after the brackets have been set tomorrow night.  Best couple weeks of basketball incoming!!

Good question, I’m not sure. I’ll try and find that out but not sure I’ll be able to find out until the seedlings are set. It definitely is the best couple weeks of basketball. I’ve never not watch the first and second day of games all day while working. Makes those days so much more fun.

I would be interested in this. How many participants do you feel we need for a minimum number here? 4? This year I expect to see alot of upsets in the 1st round as noone is really dominating the NCAA currently.

Awesome! I know we could get Wheelz involved. Maybe Hhampuz. So 3 for sure. I’d say 4 would make it still fun. I imagine between us 3 we can drum up at least 1-2 more people each.  Y

Yeah that’s what I love about this year, Kentucky or N Carolina not just absolutely dominating. I expect a good amount of upsets as well. I don’t know if my school will make the tourney but I get up an Illini fan, hoping for them to make a decent run.
When do you think you'll have all the details? We would Need to make our accounts and picks shortly after selection Sunday on March 14th. Games start on 16th(not sure if the 1st 4 are on the bracket, if they are then games start 14th).

Apologies, my dog passed a few days ago so I've been pretty out of it.  I will get this set up by this weekend.
Sorry to hear this. You don't have to set it up if you do not feel like it. There is a bracket in games and rounds put up by betcoin.ag. Of course if you are going to set it up I will still participate as will others hopefully. You might create a thread in Games & rounds to garner interest and update with links to yahoo when created. Let me know and sorry to hear about your dog.

Thank you, I really appreciate it. It’s been rough on me to say the least.

Still happy to get this up and running. I’ve got word from 2 other forum members who are in which would make 4 of us. Im confident Wheelz1200 will be game for it, making 5. Surely we could get a few others with a post in rounds and games. Will continue to try and garner more people as well.

First off dude I'm really sorry about your dog.  Mine is like one of my kids, pain in the ass but would do anything for them.  Tough go man, my sympathy for you.

With the tourney yeah man I'm in, best "playoffs" of any major sport ever.  If someone hasn't watched you should!  I usually take off for the first weekend just to watch 12 straight house of college ball, wife loves that weekend lol.

Count me in and possibly 1 or 2 others for family and one of my friends.  Let me know what I need to do.

I appreciate that brother. It’s been a tough go, trying to remember the good times, but hard to shake being without my shadow after 14 years. Life goes on though I suppose.

Glad to have ya join. Def get some family/friends in here if wanted, the more we can get the better. I think right now we may have around 7-8 participants so far.

Let’s all try and drum up some more

There’s some ridiculous posts in this thread. Anyone who says college is a waste of time and money either never went, or went to the wrong one / didn’t make the most out of their experience. Now I’m not so sure that a graduate degree is really worth it for most professions or people, but a bachelors degree certainly is. I went to school for business and learned a ton about what it takes and how to run one.  Im not saying you can’t be successful if you don’t go to college. You certainly can. But the majority of people benefit from the experience in a big way, in many ways.  I’ll forever be a proponent of higher learning.

I think the best possible thing to do is to share Andreas Antonopoulos YouTube videos about bitcoin. When I discovered bitcoin sometime around 2014ish, I was told to watch his videos and that he would in a simple manner teach me about bitcoin and it’s inner workings. I also read his book, Mastering Bitcoin. Im not very technical, so I didn’t understand like 75% of it, but the other 25% did teach me quite a bit.

Here’s an introduction to bitcoin video by Andreas - https://youtu.be/l1si5ZWLgy0

Knicks.....straight.....stunting on the nba.....talk about it.

Bulls…straight…..not stunting on the nba…let’s not talk about it lol

Nah I’ll bitch a little. At this point with them playing like such shit all season, and obviously clearly not having any legitimate shot at making any sort of run in the playoffs, it’s time to maybe trade some pieces and start losing. Would be amazing to someone pull another situation like we did with Derrick Rose and luck out in getting the number 1 pick again (would be something with the Bears and Bulls getting it).
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 04, 2023, 04:57:16 AM
Does the Falcons have the money to give Lamar a contract for 5 years that is fully guaranteed very much similar to Massage Watson's contract with the Browns?

Also, the article mentioned that it will also open a window for the superbowl for the Falcons if they can trade for Lamar? Is this real? I am shaking my head. The Dolphins might have a bigger window for the superbowl with Lamar, I reckon.
I am not so sure Lamar will be available as the Ravens can always put the exclusive franchise tag on him and if the negotiations fail he will still have to play for the Ravens, however if Lamar wants out he could follow the formula that Kirk Cousins used to get out from the Commanders and receive the tag on consecutive years and by the third year the tag becomes so expensive the Ravens will have to let him go and only receive compensatory picks instead of actually trading for him.

This is the only way I see Lamar opening a SB window for any team other than the Ravens, because if a trade has to take place for him to play at any other team then not only they will have to pay the huge salary of Lamar, severely limiting the option of bringing free agents, but a trade for him at minimum will entail 3 first round picks and this will limit the amount of talent which can be brought on the draft too.
I could see that happening too.  The problem is that franchise tag is so front heavy.  Who knows what happens but that's probably the best scenario for everyone.  Let's not ignore Lamar does get hurt and laying pit a $300 contract for a guy who can easily miss a quarter or half the games would wreck your squad.  That cap is tough and expensive quarterbacks tend to constrain teams to not being able to get people around them.  I'd steer clear if I was atlanta to be honest.

My next question is which team would be the most to give the risk to trade Lamar for the type of contract that he wants. A contract very much similar to Massage Watson. Also, which team has the money to give Lamar his contract?

The teams where I want to see Lamar go and that might also have the money are Miami Dolphins and the Las Vegas Raiders. They also need a good quarterback.

There’s a few teams that need a quarterback and could afford Lamar, the Dolphins are not one of them. As much as I feel that Tua Tagovailoa needs to hang it up if he wants to have a functioning brain by the time he’s 45 years old, with the Dolphins recently announcing that they are open to resigning Tua, I just don’t think he’s going to leave the game like he should. The Raiders are absolutely a spot I could see him landing. Though I don’t know what their cap situation is like at the moment.

Correction: I stated Calvin Ridley plays for the Falcons, completely forgot he was traded to the Jaguars 🐆

Sitting here at home watching my alma matter Southern Illinois University (Salukis) face off against Missouri State in “Arch Madness” which is the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The winner of this game automatically gets a trip to the NCAA Tournament, and my Saukis haven’t gone in quite a few years so this game is stressful (pulled off the victory 54-51)

Gearing up for the NCAA tournament and doing lots of gambling! I’m considering putting a pool together, so if anyone’s interested in participating, please let me know. If you’re unfamiliar with how that works, you simply pick the winner of each game all the way through to the championship game. There’s plenty of platforms that make doing this really easy, like Yahoo. Buy-in would be something small like .001BTC

This thread is also just to discuss the tournament that starts soon! ( Tuesday, March 14th )

No offense or anything, but the fact that your German Shepard only is eating human food that is a burden expense wise..I mean you can really only blame yourself for that one.  I'm not saying dog food is cheap, and the good brands have certainly shot up with inflation, but it would certainly be more affordable than just a diet solely based in "human" food.

That being said, here in the United States we've had inflation as high as around 8-9% on average.  However thankfully inflation has started to fall of late.  Gas prices are around $3.25-3.50 per gallon (sorry I don't know what that translates to in liters), my gas and electric bills have skyrocket too but finally seem to be coming back down to earth a bit.

FUCK YOU RUSSIA.  I know they aren't to blame for all of this, but they certainly are a big reason for it.  ( also no offense to Russians who oppose the war.  Just like how I despise the Chinese government, I don't despise all peoples there nor all Russians, I just hate your governments.  Which to be fair I hate my own government too).
